Hi all! Had a BFP yesterday at 11dpo after a squinter at 9dpo so thought I'd start this thread for everyone just getting bfps around now and due later in Feb/ early March!

I'm hopeful but a bit nervous after two chemicals this year. Hoping this bean sticks! Feeling positive about it so far... This will be our second baby, have a 21mo DD already 🥰

All welcome!

So interesting reading about everyone’s symptoms! One reason I tested was because I was suddenly noticing a lot of smells, definitely got a more sensitive nose! I was really tired last week and then got a takeaway the other night and couldn’t eat my burger, that’s really not like me 😂 funny the things that this tiny poppy seed can do to you!

Ally256 · 16/06/2022 18:59

@Cottage123 its best to wait until 8 weeks if you can as a heartbeat at 8 weights dramatically lowers your mc risk, so that's what I'm going to do this time. But with my last baby I went at 7 weeks and saw a heartbeat, was lovely and v reassuring!

Thank you! I will wait until 8 weeks🤞🏼😊

STom2 · 17/06/2022 11:24

@Hagster I could have written your post. Also been on the decaf a few years so no change there. But there goes the win tasting trip I'd planned on holidays. And don't get me started on Xmas. But obviously, worth it in the end, don't get me wrong! Grin

Twosidestwoplayers · 17/06/2022 12:51

@STom2 I hadn’t thought about a sober Christmas! Bloody hell 😂 and no pâté either!

Got a few ‘meeting for drinks’ plans coming up so need to have a think about how to handle that one! It’s always so obvious when people are not drinking but I’m just not ready to talk about it yet…

Hagster · 17/06/2022 13:09

@STom2 @twosidestwoplayers I've always found alcohol-free gin in a tin to be quite a good substitute - tasted more like the 'real' thing than Seedlip or those others, never really liked those. Found a really good fake amaretto though. Any other suggestions welcomed! Although I'm aware I'm sounding a bit dependent here...

Had a bit of a scare today, thought I felt myself start to bleed (luckily I wasn't) which brought me back to earth with a bump. Reminded me of how it's so fragile in these early weeks isn't it?! I'm going to book an early scan at 10 weeks as that's a big milestone for us - but I'm not booking it yet as don't want to get ahead of myself. Ah the balance between anxiety and planning is hard!

Thetractorjustmoved · 17/06/2022 14:55

Has anyone here got kids already? I have a 3 year old, and even though I'm not yet feeling sick, I'm starting to panic about how I'll cope with him when I am (it's inevitable for me!) He's in nursery while I work but I have him on my own 2 days a week. Had bad PND first time round, and it's bringing up lots of guilt and anxiety. Help!

Twosidestwoplayers · 17/06/2022 17:31

@Hagster I don’t even drink that much but already made myself a tonic with ice and lime just now so I can feel like I’m enjoying a summer drink 😂

Twosidestwoplayers · 17/06/2022 17:33

@Thetractorjustmoved yes I also have a 3yo and I also tend to feel very sick during pregnancy. Not looking forward to that at all! To be honest I think there will just be a lot of tv and tablet time and he will get as many snacks as he wants for the 8-10 weeks that I feel at my worst. Definitely don’t feel guilty, try to think what you would say to a friend in that scenario - probably just to get through it any way possible!

Hagster · 17/06/2022 20:12

@thetractorjustmoved I've got a 20-month-old. I'm daunted about how to manage with a little one too! It's definitely going to be a challenge. Personally I'd say take each day at a time and call on your village to help as much as possible, if that's an option for you. Is work supportive/flexible at all? Hope your sickness isn't too bad this time.

Skylark1990 · 17/06/2022 20:29

@Thetractorjustmoved I've got a 21 mo and also had very bad sickness with her, from about 8-16 weeks it was at its worst. I've already warned DP the next few weeks will be hard and he will have to do more 😅🙈 he's amazing and does loads already so I am lucky with that . I'm not looking forward to sickness and nausea with a toddler but like others have said, I think we just need to go into survive mode and remember good enough is enough, we don't need to be perfect and TV is great in these situations! And yes all the snacks @Twosidestwoplayers . Sorry to hear you had pnd, do you have a good support network around you for this time? Have you been in touch with the perinatal mental health team? They generally can be helpful with mental health stuff both due to pregnancy or birth or post natal.

This evening I had an alcohol free beer - Heineken - and it was great! Do we think these are fine?? They're 0.05% so absolutely tiny amount and clearly says "alcohol free" but just suddenly got worried 😅

Hi everyone! Think I would be due round about Feb 21st. Really no symptoms to speak of atm, and I was terrible with my other pregnancies so trying not to read too much into that yet…! Congratulations everyone 😀

Twosidestwoplayers · 17/06/2022 20:54

@Skylark1990 Absolutely fine. Even a glass of something every now and then isn’t realistically going to hurt.

However I wish I hadn’t had that full day drinking session in the sunshine the weekend before I got my bfp 🙃

Twosidestwoplayers · 17/06/2022 20:55

congrats @Zapx!

Bella9992 · 17/06/2022 22:01

My DD is nearly 2, wondering how hard working full time, a toddler and pregnancy will be but just hoping I don't feel too rough.

I have a works even planned in a couple of weeks, trying to work out my excuse, as my team will guess if I say Im not drinking 😂!
I think a sober Xmas quite heavily pregnant will be easier than 6/7 weeks like my last one. It was so hard to hide, I also felt so nauseous I couldn't enjoy my Xmas dinner.

I'm feeling very anxious, but trying to just take each day as it comes. Nausea has ramped up today, felt so ill on my train but not sure if the heat made it worse.

I really like the Heineken zero beers - definitely one of the best. The peroni is rubbish!
I had a punk AF in the garden tonight which was lovely too! Im sure it's fine even with the tiny tiny amount of alcohol in it. It would be diluted further by your system before going anywhere near baby I'm sure x

onewishfulthinker · 17/06/2022 22:45

I'm also a toddler mum (DD will be 3 in November) and last time I was sick from 6+1 to 40+2 😬
Definitely will be relying on CBeebies parenting as required. That and probably going to bed at the same time as her!

Flip side for me is that I don't have colleagues in trying to hide anything from - I was sure I had a flashing neon PREGNANT sign on my head.

Hope everyone was alright in the hot day today!

MooBugz · 17/06/2022 23:31

@onewishfulthinker same bed time sounds like a great idea! I'm struggling to stay up as it is already and then the kids are ready to start all over again by 6:30am even on the weekend 🥴

Skylark1990 · 18/06/2022 09:03

@onewishfulthinker I'm already on the earlier bed times😂 not quite same as DD (unless she has one of her nights where she refuses to go to bed till like 930 😅 which does happen sometimes if her nap was a bit later in the day) but tbh I need the earlier bed already! I wake up about 5 every morning either just because my body clock seems to be set to that or because that's when I usually breastfeed DD. We usually snooze a bit longer till about 7 after that but defo finding I need a good long stretch of sleep, and I'm sure that's just going to increase. With DD my sickness was worst in the evenings. Hoping it's not so bad this time round but shall see!

Don't suppose anyone else still breastfeeding? I've noticed a massive drop in my milk this week, I guess normal with pregnancy but had hoped it wouldnt drop for another month or two at least. Just glad she's old enough that if we stop soon I won't feel too bad and it's close to my original goal of 2, and we have been so lucky to have such a good long stretch, but it is a bit sad - feel the end of an era approaching. Although for a wonderful reason of course - a sibling! ❤️ I dropped the feeds right down in May after my second early MC as just felt my body needed to reserve a bit of energy for a future pregnancy so I'm glad I did as this one does seem to be progressing well so far. But we still do a feed 2-3 times a day usually ☺️

Hello lovelies!

Congratulations on your BFPs!

Can I please join your lovely group? I’m 5+1 today and due on the 17th of Feb. We had an early m/c in March at exactly 6 weeks and it knocked us for six! This will be our first baby (all going well) and could really do with a support network. Only myself and my DH know right now.

I’m up in Scotland and the weather is significantly cooler than most of the UK which I’m thankful for as I’m so warm all the time is anyone else the same?

Sending baby dust and positive vibes

WonderWoop · 18/06/2022 11:53

How lovely to see so many people with BFPs. Congratulations to you all.

Can I also join you?

This would be our second child, our little girl will be 3 in December. Think I would be due around 24 Feb based on when I think I ovulated. I will be 40 just a couple of weeks before, eek...! In fact I am planning to ask for a section as had one last time (EMCS) so I guess the baby will probably be born a week or two before if that happens!

Had started to give up hope on a second so just praying now everything works out this time.

Haven't told DH yet! Feel guilty but at first I didn't believe it and now I am trying to hang on until Father's Day tomorrow. I think I will take a test in the morning and wrap it for DD to give to him.

MooBugz · 18/06/2022 11:58

Hello to all the new bfps of the group!

@WonderWoop that's so nice and what a perfect gift for Father's Day 🥰

@Lmcc88 Scotland for me too and still waiting for this warmth 🤣 I have been feeling really hot in the morning but put that down to hormones more than the actual weather 😩

Thetractorjustmoved · 18/06/2022 16:07

Thanks @Skylark1990 and everyone else for their kind words. Yes will probably have perinatal mental health involved once I'm booked in with the midwives, which will be helpful.
Just wish I could be normal and straightforwardly happy about getting pregnant, instead of a massive worry head about non existent problems!
Hope everyone's doing well and coped ok with the warm weather.
Xx

Bella9992 · 18/06/2022 18:19

Aw thats lovely @WonderWoop, congratulations. I had images how I would surprise my husband this time round but in reality I was so shocked as I was about to throw the test in the bin when I first noticed a faint line, I ran downstairs shouting for him to check I wasn't seeing things 😂

I feel absolutely wiped today, my DD has had a cold all week so wondering if I've caught that as I'm feeling very off alongside my nausea.

Skylark1990 · 19/06/2022 18:06

Such a nice idea @WonderWoop let us know how it goes!
