Hi all! Had a BFP yesterday at 11dpo after a squinter at 9dpo so thought I'd start this thread for everyone just getting bfps around now and due later in Feb/ early March!

I'm hopeful but a bit nervous after two chemicals this year. Hoping this bean sticks! Feeling positive about it so far... This will be our second baby, have a 21mo DD already 🥰

All welcome!

I'm happy to go with the majority view re:FB vs Mumsnet vs WhatsApp. I love the anonymity of Mumsnet and tbh I was probably more open about things last time because I knew I wasn't 'myself' here, but equally happy to have a forum that's more accessible too.

Thetractorjustmoved · 15/06/2022 20:08

Yay just got my bfp! So happy to join!

Nikkixx · 15/06/2022 20:10

I’m happy with anything really! Praying this is my rainbow baby! Dunno if I can deal with it again! But positive vibes, positive vibes!

MooBugz · 15/06/2022 20:31

Positive vibes all round fingers crossed 🤞🏼

@Hagster I'm the same I found mumsnet was great because of the anonymity of not knowing a urine personally but can still make good relationships! Also I don't have fb I came off that years ago couldn't deal with it 🤣

Bella9992 · 15/06/2022 20:45

Hey and congrats to all the new BFP. I've had a mad few days with a sick DD while DH working away so bit late catching up.

I'd be up for a whats app group, I have one from my previous pregnancy which was invaluable! I will hold off joining until 12 weeks though as I'm too anxious at the moment!
The pregnancy bloat seems to have kicked in today!

Twosidestwoplayers · 15/06/2022 22:03

@Nikkixx i feel exactly the same after my tfmr, it was so awful and I can’t really imagine going through it all again. Hope you are able to maintain those positive thoughts!

MooBugz · 15/06/2022 22:41

I'm sure it was mean to say person not urine, I can't even explain that typo 🤭🙈

Nikkixx · 15/06/2022 23:38

Baby dust on us all!!!!

elsbells98 · 16/06/2022 01:42

Hi! Tentatively joining this thread as I got my first BFP today at 13DPO! This is my first pregnancy and in all honesty I don't really have any idea what to expect 😅 will defo be nice to be in a group full of other ladies also getting increasingly uncomfortable over the next 9 months😂 feels less lonely xx

Skylark1990 · 16/06/2022 09:39

Hey everyone and welcome to newbies! Looks like a few of us are keen for WhatsApp/ FB but some of us would prefer Mumsnet only! I'm easy but do find WhatsApp and FB easier to catch up with. Maybe we could wait a couple weeks then set one up for those keen? And try to also make sure we check back here too!

I'm 4+3 today, didn't test today after testing every day last week or so 😂😬 🙈 I'm feeling very hormonal, more snappy etc towards DP and crying easily - DD cried when I dropped her at nursery this morning when she doesn't usually now and it set me off 😔 also very distracted and forgetful, just let my poached eggs go over done and my tea brew too long while I caught up on Mumsnet 😅 had some cramping yesterday but hoping all normal for this stage.

I've not told many people in real life yet how about you guys? Also have you cut out tea / coffee? I've cut coffee but still having a tea in the morning and then herbal / decaf throughout rest of day.

Hope you all enjoy the sunshine today if you're in the UK! X

Hi everyone, love reading your updates.

Can I join - I was shocked to get my bfp last night (I'm 10dpo today). Still early days so will see if it gets darker.

We were kind of "seeing what happens" so I feel a bit overwhelmed and in disbelief that it might be actually happening lol.

Due Late Feb / Early March 2023 💖💙💐🌈
mumofbun · 16/06/2022 10:19

Thats a good idea for the Facebook group @Skylark1990 as still early days!

i think i'll be 5 weeks tomorrow and i'm feeling ok... was a bit nauseous and tired but now just tired haha. And definitely more forgetful. Trying to reduce my caffeine yes...i usually have a couple of teas in the morning and a couple of coffees through the day so i've cut that to one tea and one coffee. Though this morning i couldn't face the tea and had a major craving for orange juice! I haven't really told many people in real life yet - just my sister and her boyf, and one friend. Other than that just my DH knows!

@FastFish1993 Sounds like we are in a similar situation - we weren't trying either but just weren't being careful! And now here we are!!

FastFish1993 · 16/06/2022 10:24

@mumofbun here we are indeed 😂😂

I have quite bad anxiety over feeling / being sick so I think that will be my major struggle over the coming weeks 🙃 I'm hoping to be one of the lucky ones that sails through without sickness 😂

mumofbun · 16/06/2022 10:33

@FastFish1993 hopefully you'll be fine! I was only sick twice through the whole of my pregnancy last time and one was in labour!

onewishfulthinker · 16/06/2022 11:04

Morning!

Feeling so tired and nauseous and bloated already and I think I'm only just 4 weeks! I was sick the whole time with my first pregnancy and really hoping I don't have that again. Obviously I'm comforted by my symptoms too. It's such a mind boggle anxious time and the weeks go so so slowly! My friend sent me this link datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer which I find a nice reminder of the odds when I need it. Fingers crossed for all of us!

I've not given up the morning coffee, but I'm making it weaker than normal and not topping up. I only really have one coffee in the morning and maybe a diet coke some days so my caffeine intake is probably ok.

I'm sure the nursery drop offs will get easier - my DD goes through these phases of saying she doesn't want to go but at the end of the day saying how she had a wonderful day.

DH told my MIL last night. She lives really close to us and we spend a lot of time with her and I know she'll somehow just know the minute she next sees me! FIL died at new year so I think it's perked her up a bit. Who have you told @Skylark1990?

I think I probably find Facebook the easiest to navigate of all the options. WhatsApp chats with many people can be a bit overwhelming and harder to keep up with and manage notifications etc. I get why some people don't have FB though. Groups are the only reason I've kept mine - I don't post anything on my profile these days! xx

MooBugz · 16/06/2022 12:36

@FastFish1993 what a lovely line for 10ml congrats 🥳

I've not told anyone else but my hubby and a colleague who shares an office with me as she was there for me when I had the miscarriage I remember wailing uncontrollably and she thought the worst so felt I had to tell her.

Planning on keep quiet until 12 weeks even though I thought I'd want to tell everyone as I expected to be more anxious and obviously nervous but I seem to be hiding it well to the outside world so far. My bloating not so hidden unfortunately 😩 felt a hint of nausea this morning but could be willing that haha.

Also found out a neighbour's child's friend has covid and that got me shaking this morning as I've said before I'm fairly certain that's what caused my mc in March so even the thought of covid being nearby freaks me.

Hope you're all doing well. Lovely to have more people joining the bandwagon ❤️

MooBugz · 16/06/2022 12:37

10dpo not ml. Lord help me with these typos..

Frida9 · 16/06/2022 12:48

Hi, I'm joining this thread as I originally worked out my due date as 26th January but had an early scan last week due to bleeding, no fetal pole was seen so hopefully I'm just a couple of weeks behind and will now be due early February. Have another scan a week on Monday and really nervous baby won't have grown, I still feel pregnant but they said at the scan it could turn into a blighted ovum. I had a mc in march so hoping for more luck this time

Cottage123 · 16/06/2022 12:50

Hi everyone! I got my BFP two days ago. My first pregnancy 😊feeling a little bit anxious but also very excited. We haven't told anyone yet but we do plan to tell a few people in a few weeks as I am only just 4 weeks at the moment. I would definitely be up for a facebook group!

Boadiccea · 16/06/2022 13:19

Wow so many of us already! This thread is growing quickly so sending baby magic to all of us that we continue to grow and get bigger bellied together!

I've not told anyone and in truth I'm sometimes unsure if I'm pregnant. I only did one test and have a missed period but have been so preoccupied with other stresses that haven't overly focused. Suddenly feeling like maybe I should do another test. I also don't have loads of symptoms and it feels different to my previous pregnancies so maybe that's why.

I'm tempted to book a private scan for 10 weeks as we then go on holiday so won't get an opportunity for a scan till 14 weeks!

Skylark1990 · 16/06/2022 14:02

Welcome everyone! @onewishfulthinker thanks for the miscarriage reassurance link :) It does help a bit to see that! I have only told my mum and one friend who is also in early pregnancy and has had previous losses, plus my DP of course, and a couple of online friends I've met through mumsnet/other parenting forums. That's it so far! I may tell a couple other friends soon but think I want to wait till my first scan - prob at 12 weeks- before telling more people this time

Got my BFP Monday, was a surprise but very much wanted, this is my first pregnancy so I'm very excited and a little nervous🙈 I am unsure of when I ovulated for definite but going off first day of last period I am 5+2, and due 14th Feb😊

I feel the same! I don't really have any symptoms yet apart from a missed period but I am sure it will hit us soon 😂

I think we're going to book a private scan for 8 weeks! I've heard you can't really see much on a 6 week scan and it's better to try and wait it out for 2 weeks? Does anyone know?

Ally256 · 16/06/2022 18:59

@Cottage123 its best to wait until 8 weeks if you can as a heartbeat at 8 weights dramatically lowers your mc risk, so that's what I'm going to do this time. But with my last baby I went at 7 weeks and saw a heartbeat, was lovely and v reassuring!

Hagster · 16/06/2022 20:39

I've told a handful of friends and our close family. As someone who's had it go wrong, personally I found it better having people I could be open with and talk to, so I've told a few people I'd want to have there for me if it happened again. But I appreciate everyone is different in their preferences and circumstances so absolutely understand that others will not tell so many people.

I've been on the decaf for years so I don't miss that, but I have to say I wish I'd known when it might be my last chance to drink for a while, a whole summer without booze?! And Christmas too! Devastating. Obviously it'll be a blessing if that's the case, but I do like alcohol.

Sorry to hear a few of you already have symptoms, unlucky! Hope it doesn't get too bad for you.

And great idea to wait a minute before setting up the FB/WhatsApp, sounds sensible. Thanks for coordinating @Skylark1990.
