Hi all! Had a BFP yesterday at 11dpo after a squinter at 9dpo so thought I'd start this thread for everyone just getting bfps around now and due later in Feb/ early March!

I'm hopeful but a bit nervous after two chemicals this year. Hoping this bean sticks! Feeling positive about it so far... This will be our second baby, have a 21mo DD already 🥰

All welcome!

6 weeks tomorrow and the nausea is intense! Gagging but not actually being sick. Nothing like my first pregnancy - I had hardly any early pregnancy symptoms last time!
Have done my self referral to maternity services so hopefully will here back from them this week ☺️
hope everyone is doing well!

pamplemousse19 · 07/07/2022 13:08

@Quackers1990 I'm 6 weeks tomorrow too, but no nausea (or indeed any strong symptoms really) as yet! I hope that's not a bad sign for me!

Hope it doesn't get too bad for you!

havanamama · 07/07/2022 13:14

Just ordered Lucy Atkins “First time parent” book that had great Amazon reviews ☺️

Quackers1990 · 07/07/2022 13:28

I didn’t have any nausea first time round and all was well so I wouldn’t be worried by a lack of nausea- every pregnancy is so different !

Ballyboo1986 · 07/07/2022 14:44

Hi All, I havnt been on in a little while! 7 weeks tomorrow and not very many symptoms, slightly sore boobs and tired. Not that I am hoping for sickness, but in my first pregnancy I was extremely sick with hyperemesis by this point! Really hoping it's not a bad sign.
In Ireland the first booking appointment is not until 12 weeks and in my mat hospital they only offer 20 week scan. So I have booked a private at 9 weeks and if all well hope to do NIPT around 11-12 weeks.
Lack of symptoms is making me nervous but fingers crossed!!

Pink15 · 07/07/2022 15:19

I'm also not feeling nauseous yet (I'm 4+6). Last time it hit around 5-6 weeks so trying to enjoy all food as best I can for now!!

havanamama · 07/07/2022 15:24

I would say my main symptom is the pelvic and lower back pressure/ache feeling and frequent peeing , literally since day I found out

LeftTheWashingOut · 07/07/2022 19:31

Nausea has hit me hard today (5+6) have been reduced to sipping water all day. Although I barely had any nausea with my first that I can remember (it's amazing how quickly you forget!) so I'm not prepared for it!

@havanamama my friend gave me the Lucy atkins book - it's really good. But read it before the baby comes. I spent so long reading pregnancy books that I forgot to read anything about how to look after the baby... and while it is useful once the baby is here it would have been a lot less stressful to have read it BEFORE you're trying to deal with whatever issue with a crying baby! I will dig it out and give myself a refresher nearer the time

Nora11 · 07/07/2022 20:42

@havanamama I have a stash of pregnancy-related books on my Kindle that I've been buying whenever they are reduced to 99p 🙈 but now I'm not sure which one to read first! I also don't want to read them too early and forget everything but I guess I can always re-read them if they are good! (Good point @LeftTheWashingOutabout reading them before baby arrives!)

Ive also had my eye on First Time Parent so would love to hear what you think of it!😊

I'm 5+6 today and I think the nausea is starting to come on a bit....it's not too bad yet, I can still eat but have to push through the queasiness a bit, and just feel a bit bleh especially in the afternoon!

havanamama · 07/07/2022 20:43

@LeftTheWashingOut nice, I’ll get it next week and start reading :)
I find forums and Googling stuff can get owerwhelming, so a book seems more appealing

Bella9992 · 07/07/2022 21:54

@LeftTheWashingOut I've gone off chicken too! Exactly the same happened with my first too and went to eat some last week and it turned my stomach!
Having quite a lot of nausea, although have had covid too and coughing and the nausea was an awful combination and was sick a lot after a coughing fit. Thankfully almost over the covid symptoms so just back to some nausea 🤞.
This time next week we will hopefully have seen our baby on the scan, already anxious but just trying to take each day as it comes. Will be around 8+3 at the scan.

Frankie90B · 08/07/2022 12:31

Hi all
Nice to read some shared experiences. This is my first pregnancy and I'm about 7 weeks and I feel a bit clueless. I have waves of excitement but at the moment its largely taken over by waves of nausea. Started a week ago and I'm not being sick but spend most the day feeling sick and lots of food aversion. Hoping it won't last too long but do share any tips if you have them 😊

Lilipa · 08/07/2022 14:38

I had some symptoms (nausea, really sore boobs) but they went away just two days ago (I'm 6 weeks today). I'm worried something is going wrong, especially because I've been with a cold (COVID negative but you never know with these tests if they are valid) and fever. I'm hoping if the pregnancy was not going well I'd have another symptom as well (eg. bleeding, spotting or cramps)...at least that was the case with my previous 4 miscarriages. Fingers crossed this is going well!

Twosidestwoplayers · 09/07/2022 07:21

@Lilipa I am also worrying a lot about symptoms! I still have the sore boobs and vivid dreams but in both of my precious pregnancies I have felt quite nauseous by now so I’m feeling like things can’t be progressing. Just holding off as long as possible until booking an early scan to make sure everything is still okay. I just keep reminding myself every pregnancy is different and symptoms simply aren’t an accurate reflection of what’s happening in there. 💛

Nikkixx · 09/07/2022 07:24

@Lilipa how far are you? And try not to worry! Like you said every pregnancy is different if you are worried you can present bro your gp and say you had a decline in symptoms they can arrange a early scan with EPAU

Nora11 · 09/07/2022 07:39

@Lilipa my main symptom was sore boobs which started to go away at the beginning of this week. I was getting worried and did LOTS of googling which came to the conclusion it is very normal for symptoms to fluctuate a lot! They are now starting to hurt a bit more again today though it feels a bit different from before! Even if the symptoms don't come back though it still doesn't mean anything is wrong.

botbump · 15/07/2022 20:31

Just back from our scan.
Saw the heartbeat and measuring a lovely 12mm which is estimated 7w3d, thought I was 7w5d so not bad at all!

Feel so much relief, and all feels a lot more real!
Pretty sure there's only one in there, which was a big question as we have twins on both sides of the family!

Twosidestwoplayers · 16/07/2022 11:29

@botbump huge congratulations! Must have been a really special and exciting moment 🥰 I also have the twin fear - imagine there being two in there 😱 still two weeks to wait for my scan, hopefully it will fly by.

It was lovely! I was pretty nervous as it's my first and I'm not particularly comfortable with 'medical' situations - sure I'll get over that in coming months mind!
Ahh, I was almost convinced it was two, so it was a relief! She kept going back to double check though, so there were a few heartstopping moments!

Lilipa · 16/07/2022 16:56

@botbump congratulations for the positive scan! Is your next scan at 12 weeks now?
I have my first scan the upcoming Friday, I'm supposed to be 8 weeks then.

Thank you! It is indeed - I've had no contact from a midwife yet though, other than a link to join Badger Notes, so don't have a date for this.
Seems the booking call is usually 8-10 weeks so should hear soon hopefully!

Good luck for your scan! X

Thank you, I was also waiting a few weeks to join.
I've got my booking appointment on Wed, it's in person which I was pleased about as assumed it might be a call.
The tiredness has really hit the last few days, so exhausted! How's everyone doing?
