Starting a new thread due to last one being full. Such a valuable place to share our journey! Not going to tag anyone in case they don't want to be tagged.

Marching towards or in the beginning of the second trimester!

@Phoenixwings1989 sorry you are going through this. That blood has clots in it so you definitely need to get seen. It's probably faster to go to A+E than to get referred to EPU via midwife. I truly hope all is well

RSmamaa · 09/06/2022 09:32

@Luckyme2022 I only had heartburn on the night in trimester 3 and my DS had jet black thick hair. However a friend of mine suffered with it quite bad and her baby was as bald as you can get 😆 so it's definitely just a myth. It's caused by everything pushing up and squishing your stomach

LolaJ87 · 09/06/2022 09:48

@RSmamaa I think another factor is relaxin loosening your muscles, it also loosens the valve that keeps your stomach acid down or something so heartburn is more likely! I've never suffered with it before so I've been googling 😂

hopefulsunshine11 · 09/06/2022 10:42

15 weeks today! Don't feel pregnant at all and as I'm overweight I can't tell if I have a bump 🤣🤣. Got a hen do this weekend and it's going to be a struggle 20 drunk hens and a sober me who's usually the party queen lol. It will all so be worth it though but I'm worried I'll just want to go to bed at 6pm haha 😂

RhiRhi1996 · 09/06/2022 13:20

I know most of you have had your NHS scan now, mine is still a week and a half away.

I was wondering how long it took for you to get your results back for the NIPT screening?
(Is that what it's called, the screening for downs syndrome etc ?) I've read a few times that if you have a high risk result you get told very quickly but low risk it can take 2 weeks ?

My NHS scan is on 20th June, but I think as an extra precaution, I don't want to tell everyone until we have the results for that back. I'm hoping the result doesn't take too long as resisting urge to tell people is hard 😅

Thanks xx

ninkasi90 · 09/06/2022 13:32

10 weeks here! Currently due NYE 🥳😂 (sure that'll change in two weeks)
Both my partner and his dad are December babies, so it would only be right for this one to be December too!

Found out a 3+5, so it is dragging soooo much to that first scan 23rd June 😬

This will be my 2nd bubba and I know that when i tell my 5YO DD she will be over the moon happy, as a sibling is all she's asked for the past two years.

Phoenixwings1989 · 09/06/2022 13:42

Spoke with EPU and they said they couldn't bring the scan forward as it's protocol to wait 2 weeks from each scan and could only offer internal scans which I can't tolerate due to trauma. I am due a scan on Monday and they have said if I am filling a pad every 30-45 minutes then to ring back.

Nutella99 · 09/06/2022 13:53

@RhiRhi1996The first blood tests are not the same as the NIPT test, they test for free beta hCG and PAPP-A. I had my 12 week scan and blood tests done on the same day, then the results of that are combined with other risks like age to get your overall scores for the different syndromes. I had to wait a week and a half (including the 2 bank holidays so may have been less usually) for the letter. I was happily pretty low chance of any of the syndromes but I was also told at the hospital that you would get a phone call from the midwife sooner than that if there was an issue.

I did wait that much longer to tell people outside immediate family and close friends. Frustrating but I didn't want to jinx things!

Nutella99 · 09/06/2022 13:54

Forgot to add, they only do the NIPT after that if your risk is above a certain level.

And this is all in Scotland, not sure if it's the same everywhere.

RhiRhi1996 · 09/06/2022 14:25

@Nutella99 ahh okay thanks, yeah I wasn't sure what the standard testing was called! Yes I'm in Scotland too! I guess 1-2 weeks wait isn't the end of the world! Been keeping it quiet for nearly 2 months so far so a few extra weeks won't kill me 😅 and like you say if its higher risk , you will find out quicker anyway from midwife! Xx

Dora2018 · 09/06/2022 14:55

Had my scan on Monday everything looks ok and my screenings have come back low risk. Feel like I can relax just a touch. I have had babies nub read by a professional person and they think baby is a girl which is tempting me to start buying girly things however not sure how accurate they actually are!

AG96 · 09/06/2022 15:24

@ninkasi90 my birthday is NYE but I was due on the 19th lol. Like you we have loads of birthdays in December (cousin, MIL, GMIL). It's turning into an expensive month with Christmas as well! Lol. Hope your scan goes well. Not long to wait for it now

Hi everyone,

Is anyone else finding it increasingly difficult to lie to friends? I keep trying to come up with excuses to not go on nights out!

I'm 12 weeks today, but still haven't had my screening appointment, so still don't feel comfortable telling people.

bbnotwo · 09/06/2022 16:24

I had my CVS done today.
Our baby has multiple abnormalities showing on the scans including heart defect, hydrops and face malformation, so it’s not looking good.
I am therefore bowing out of this thread and I wish you all well in your pregnancies and I hope you all have your beautiful healthy babies safely in your arms at the end of the year x

Nutella99 · 09/06/2022 16:27
