Starting a new thread due to last one being full. Such a valuable place to share our journey! Not going to tag anyone in case they don't want to be tagged.

Marching towards or in the beginning of the second trimester!

I think I felt movement yesterday. Seems very early (I'm 14+2) and it's my first baby! The first time I thought I imagined it but it kept happening, even after I had walked round and been to the loo. Has anyone else felt anything yet?

CP22 · 10/06/2022 09:20

So sorry bbnotwo, thinking of you ❤️

Amphibian94 · 10/06/2022 11:25

@LolaJ87 I'm 15 weeks today and thought I felt something but then I don't know if it's just wind or things moving around lol... I don't think I will know for sure till later on.

LolaJ87 · 10/06/2022 11:31

Thanks @Amphibian94. My mam is a retired midwife and thinks it was movement I felt, but advised that feeling it this early usually means baby was at a funny angle and not to expect to feel anything regularly yet.

Amphibian94 · 10/06/2022 11:33

@LolaJ87 ah OK good to know! My placenta is also at the front so I don't think I'll feel anything for a while unfortunately

JC84 · 10/06/2022 12:23

Hey ladies!
I've been keeping up to date with everyone's highs and lows of pregnancy, thinking of those with not so good news 💕
I've waited to join until I'd had my scan, went this morning and am 13+0 with a very wiggly baby no 2, due 16/12 - feeling massive already and not really ready to tell anyone yet so trying to hide it a bit longer🤰🏼
Little boy just turned 8 so a bit of a gap but thats what happens when have a rubbish first time and then the pill fails you 😂
Hoping my sickness is gone for good and trying to keep the nausea at bay by eating more often
Feeling for those who are still struggling for energy, some days I nap for 3 hours others I start rearranging the furniture or swimming 80 lengths 🤣
Hoping for a girl, what do you think??

Happy Friday 🌞

Congrats @JC84 ! I'm not the most experienced at these but I'd guses girl based on the skull shape?

JC84 · 10/06/2022 12:48

Thankyou @LolaJ87
I'd really like to break the tradition of my other halves family history of single sex babies! 😂

DogsAndGin · 10/06/2022 13:16

@JC84 congratulations! Looks like a boy to me.

Meowcat89 · 10/06/2022 13:21

I'm 15 weeks today! It still doesn't feel real, I just feel like I've put on some weight on my tum 😅 can't wait for the movement to start just so I know it's not just extra cushioning from all the snacking. I'm also so tired now. Where is this 2nd trimester energy?!

Got my 16 week midwife appointment next week. Anyone know how long it usually takes? I'm guessing not as long as the screening one?

RhiRhi1996 · 10/06/2022 13:37

I've started having baby dreams this week! One of them I had 7 babies and couldn't keep up, I'd been breast feeding them wrong & realised none of them had been even getting milk so had to do it all again.
Another dream I had the easiest baby which was so low maintainable and didn't cry all the time
Today I had one where my baby was growing at an exponential rate, it was like a 1 year old days after birth. And I gave birth months early. I had nothing prepared no clothing etc and I couldn't get it to breastfeed properly.
Has anyone else been having baby related dreams?? 😆

AG96 · 10/06/2022 15:04

Had someone at work today tell me how tired I looked. They asked how far and when I'm due. I told them December and they laughed and said "you've got ages to go yet" 🙄 thanks for the reminder!! I've also had people at work tell me how much worse it gets. I snapped at one person and said how unhelpful that was and asked them how they would have felt if someone told them that when they were expecting their first. It shut them up lol. Expecting unhelpful comments throughout pregnancy tbh. Anyone else had any?

@jc84 congratulations 🥳 that looks like a boy to me going off skull shape 🙈

We find out 1 weeks tomorrow what we're having and I'm so excited 😁

@AG96 good for you! Get them told! It's always the ones that had their kids 10+ years ago that like to butt in. Tbh it doesn't get any better when the baby is here either it just turns in to 'advice' and 'that's not what we did xx years ago' 🙄 I still argue on certain points but mostly I just nod and day 'it's all different now'😂😂😂

JC84 · 10/06/2022 16:19

@BuchananBaby I fully expect it to be but a girl can hope 🤞🏻 I've been physically sick this time so I was hoping it was due to different sex lol
I think I'm going to have to get a private one at 16 weeks to find out 😂

Jaaxe · 10/06/2022 17:01

@JC84 welcome! Glad all went well with scan! Hope it’s a girl for u but I think boy off nub! I’ve always booked private genders to find out. It I’m planning on holding out and having a suprise this time as it’s absolutely going to be my last baby. I’m 11 weeks and got my 12 week scan in just over a week and also don’t intend on telling anyone anytime soon! Contraception also failed me, I feel terrible but I haven’t even told my other half yet! 👀

@AG96 ive had that in the past people putting their 2 pence piece in as to how bad pregnancy and labour is. When I was pregnant with my first one older woman I worked with told me to kiss goodbye to my slim figure as I’d never see that again….joke was on her because I was back in my pre pregnancy clothes 3 weeks post birth. Not going to lie each baby since has been more difficult tho!

Luckyme2022 · 10/06/2022 17:04

@JC84 congrats. Beautiful pictures. That looks like a boy to me. 👶

RhiRhi1996 · 10/06/2022 17:28

@Jaaxe how come you've not told your partner if you don't mind me asking??

I think I spoke too soon / jinxed it about feeling better. Although I DO feel better in terms of sickness & eating etc, the physical exhaustion is here to stay! Although I did make it to the gym the other day. Seeing you ladies still exhausted at 14 weeks isn't giving me hope 😅

HayleyBean · 10/06/2022 17:44

Is anyone showing yet? I'm 13+3 and quite clearly have a bump now. Seems as soon as I hit 13 weeks i popped a bit. As someone who usually carries weight on their bum and has a flat stomach it's quite weird. Just didn't realise it would happen so quick with my first

Jaaxe · 10/06/2022 18:11

@RhiRhi1996 don’t mind u asking at all, the pregnancy wasn’t planned and we hadn’t planned on having anymore babies (although in my heart I have always wanted 4 kids) but it was a contraception fail, took morning after pill all within the right time etc and it didn’t work and when I found out I just wanted to pretend it wasn’t happening for a bit and bury my head in the sand as that seemed the easiest option at the time because I suffer bad anxiety and even now the idea of another pregnancy fills me with dread and panic (my last one wasn’t good). If I could take the baby with no pregnancy/ birth I would quite happily do that but obvs it doesn’t work like that. I know my partner will be supportive and I have known that all along although I’m not sure he’ll exactly be thrilled more he’ll be shocked as I think he thought the morning after pill was job done and I didn’t realise that it would really ever fail either to be honest. Ive just needed to get my own head around it without worrying about anyone else because I feel like the minute I tell him or anyone else it becomes “real” and I worry for a dip in my mental health. I do intend on telling my partner this week in readiness for the 12 week scan but the longer I’ve left it the harder it’s gna be now isn’t it! And I really don’t want to tell anyone else after that either because of my anxiety I just expect bad things to happen so it’s almost like the fewer people that know the better. I appreciate this group though, that’s why I came on as I needed to speak to others who don’t know me 🤣

RhiRhi1996 · 10/06/2022 18:37

@Jaaxe aww I can't believe you've managed to go nearly 12 weeks without saying anything - I could never, especially with the sickness & exhaustion of pregnancy!

I am sure he will be very surprised to find out you're nearly 12 weeks pregnant 😁but I am sure once the shock settled down he will be happy too!

Do you plan to tell others like family after the scan , or are you going to keep it quiet for a bit longer ?

Good luck for your scan anyway! X

Jaaxe · 10/06/2022 21:11

@RhiRhi1996 thanks, I’m hoping he won’t be too mad I haven’t told him sooner and that he’ll understand why I haven’t and also come round to the idea (well not even idea, it’s happening) of another baby 😬 I’ll keep u updated.
erm i sometimes wish I would to be able to tell others like family and friends but my anxiety is so extreme, I just think bad things are going to happen all the time and therefore it stops me, so probably not. I mean close family and friends will have to find out at some point as it’ll become obvious but I have no intention of telling any of them anytime soon. The longer people don’t know the better in my head, I realise that’s not the norm tho. Xx

Sdoubleyou · 10/06/2022 21:57

@HayleyBean, I'm also exactly 13+3 and I'm definitely showing! My MIL even noticed so it's confirmed :) It's also my first and I'm surprised to be showing already. It's also kind of fun! I'm quite slim so I'm sure that's why. I call it my baby beer belly 😆

JC84 · 10/06/2022 22:20

@Jaaxe thankyou
I know it most likely will be a boy but we would love a girl, we didn't find out with our LB but i don't think I can not find out again and 7 weeks feels like so long as the 5 weeks to today has been an awful wait so a private one may be being booked for 3 weeks time..
I can't believe you have been able to hide it for so long, I've been rather sick this time and also went from b cup to spilling out of d overnight so that wasn't going unnoticed 🤣 I told him at 5 weeks a couple of days after I found out

I don't think I'll be able to hide much longer @HayleyBean I am clearly round at nighttime! I don't remember when I showed with my first but I was really bloated from about 7 weeks this time and then the last few weeks I have become aware of getting a bigger belly!

JC84 · 10/06/2022 22:23

@Luckyme2022 thankyou!
Was very wiggly the minute she said oh this one is in a good position, did lots of waving and even upside down at one point so I had to do lots of hip wiggling on the scan bed!
I knew I shouldn't have asked what you all thought, I knew seeing lots of groups of 3 magpies wasn't going to cut it 🤣🤣

HayleyBean · 11/06/2022 05:32

Thanks for the reassurance guys 😊 for some reason I thought I wouldn't be showing til at least 16+ so it's nice to know that 13 weeks is normal and that the scan didn't miss a second baby 😂
I do that with the magpies all the time!!! Mind you I saw 9 on a golf course near me and was pretty stumped....had to Google the song!!
