Starting a new thread due to last one being full. Such a valuable place to share our journey! Not going to tag anyone in case they don't want to be tagged.

Marching towards or in the beginning of the second trimester!

Sorry this is what I found...!

I've emailed the other midwife.

Who knew though that sprays could potentially cause harm. I think if they are taken orally it's much worse but still, if there's a warning it must be for a reason. Lesson learned!!

@hopefulsunshine11 please don't stress too much - retinol won't affect your baby. It's not advised because orally it can cause defects, but the tiny amount on a setting spray won't have done any harm. TBH you're as well getting rid for your own sake, retinol makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, which pregnancy does too so it's good to change to another brand now anyway.

I have anxiety as well and I understand the panic.... when we started talking about TTC there was a news story about an ingredient in Olaplex treatments causing infertility and potential defects. There was an ingredient called Lilial (sometimes listed as butylphenyl methylpropional) that's considered reprotoxic and has recently been banned by the EU. I went through the ingredients of every beauty product I owned and gave away so much stuff (to family who aren't going to get pregnant). I couldn't believe it was in so many things I was using! Again, it was one of those things where the amount in a hair treatment or heat protecting spray or body lotion was probably fine enough, but once you read something like that it has a way of getting into your head doesn't it?

Hope the midwife can put your mind at ease.

hopefulsunshine11 · 24/06/2022 10:53

@LolaJ87 Thanks 😊.

I think it's because I've inhaled it as a couple of times I've coughed as the smell is strong but it can't be as bad as taking the oral medication.

I read about that and my hairdressers stopped selling and using it. I honestly think I'll stop wearing make up or spraying things now that's how bad I am. It's crazy as thousands of women don't read things and do or take what they want.

At least you've taken the precautions to put your mind at ease, it's a really stressful time for us all but when you have anxiety it's really hard! I just feel like I'm doing something wrong all the time.

After feeling so nervous (because I'm feeling less ill!), we had a lovely healthy scan today. Still measuring bang on dates although this baby has some serious legs going on 🙊 so happy and relieved 🌈💛

@Tulip1112 congratulations 🥰🥰 what a lovely scan photo!

lifechanginglemoncake · 24/06/2022 13:06

Hi @hopefulsunshine11 looks like you've solved the mystery and don't need to worry too much. It's inspired me to go and check my own moisturisers and make up now!

We've just swapped round the beds in our two spare rooms so one can be for baby and started thinking about buying some furniture and clearing the cupboard so we can put things away. I think once we have places to put the stuff I'll start sorting it out. Might be after 20 weeks just because it takes ages to get anything done with a toddler in tow!

Somehow it just seems like doing things too early will jinx it or make it that much harder if things go wrong. Realistically the most likely outcome is that once I get to 37 weeks I'll be cursing myself for not getting on with it earlier! Thankfully my husband is much more practical and just starts doing stuff and makes me join in!

Tofu35 · 24/06/2022 13:07

A beautiful scan photo @Tulip1112 !

hopefulsunshine11 · 24/06/2022 14:16

On another note, the midwife called and told me to call triage for the pains. She says it could be normal but for piece of mind to call. They think it's a urine infection the pain, because I'm getting back pain. Although I get back pain a lot I'm not getting pain when urinating so I really don't think it's a urine infection but we will see. I've to call them back if it's not that.

Angelchops30 · 24/06/2022 14:47

@Tofu35 I was nervously excited if I'm honest, our new scan date is 11/1/23 so peanut probably won't be a December baby.
Super happy to see a healthy tiny human wiggling around though, it all seems so much more real now

GabsK92 · 24/06/2022 14:55

Guys sorry for TMI but has anyone had difficulties with their number twos? I’m either not going at all or having diarrhoea. I don’t know when to worry because it’s something I ate or whether this is normal. I tend to eat same as my DH and he’s not had any bouts so I just don’t know.

AG96 · 24/06/2022 15:03

@GabsK92 I can deffo give you my TMI with number 2's 😂 I have about 2 or 3 days where I don't get anything at all or tiny rabbit poops and then I'll do 3 days worth of poop in one day! I think sluggish bowels are common in pregnancy

OP posts:
Tofu35 · 24/06/2022 15:52

Ooh love a good poo chat @GabsK92 @AG96 . Either constipated or all the poo. When it's a lot of poo day, it's also softer than it was pre-pregnancy. That could have something to do with my beige diet though!

Jaaxe · 24/06/2022 16:00

@AG96 @Tofu35 @GabsK92 thanks for the tmi posts because I am having the exact same, won’t go for days then have rabbit poo and constipation and then another day I’ll go 3-4 times in one day like my whole bowel empties….actually spoke to my Gp about it today and she wasn’t concerned at all and just recommended fybrogel, you guys have reassured me too 🙌

can I also ask anyone who’s had the combined screening results back already with your risk, how long did it take? like how many days did u have to wait? I had mine on Tuesday and she said up to 2 weeks but obvs I’m checking badger everyday, do they post on there? How many more days should I be expecting to wait now, I’ve bad anxiety and I can see the longer I wait probably the better but I just want to know 🤦🏼‍♀️

AG96 · 24/06/2022 16:08

@Jaaxe I don't have the badger notes but my results came in the post about a week and a half after my scan and bloods

OP posts:
RhiRhi1996 · 24/06/2022 16:29

@Jaaxe I had my screening test Monday and I checked badger notes few hours ago and they are on there!

Came back low risk so I am happy and now can tell wider family etc :)

Chanel05 · 24/06/2022 16:37

@Jaaxe I don't have badger notes but I had my scan on 15th June and my letter arrived on 20th June.

Jaaxe · 24/06/2022 16:52

@AG96 @Chanel05 @RhiRhi1996 thank you all for this! Really appreciate the replies, I’m a constant worrier, knowing me I’ll even worry if it comes back low risk because i’ll think is it low enough tho, I’m a nightmare 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️Xx

AG96 · 24/06/2022 17:28

@Jaaxe I thought the same when my down syndrome risk was 1 in 17,000 and saw others had 1 in 50,000 so thought "what if my number isn't low enough?!" However I thought about if it would change me wanting to continue with the pregnancy if I did have the news of down syndrome and for me personally it wouldn't. (Not saying it's wrong if it would change anyone's mind)

OP posts:
Jaaxe · 24/06/2022 17:47

@AG96 thanks for this! Yeah all my pregnancies my risk has always been low but my first when I was 23 was like 1 in 200,000 and then as I’ve got older the risk has increased but still very low risk but the fact it wasn’t always as low risk as my first stuck in my head…that’s just anxiety for u tho isn’t it 🙄 really I should just accept the low risk and not look at the number…fingers crossed it comes back low risk as I don’t fancy any further tests x

JC84 · 24/06/2022 18:55

@hopefulsunshine11 I had a uti with absolutely no common symptoms and just small expected pregnancy pains, I only went to the doctors at 5 weeks because I was so dizzy, they said it was that. They gave me antibiotics. It wasn't that as I was mega dizzy for a further 5 weeks 😂

JC84 · 24/06/2022 18:57

@GabsK92 I don't go for 3 days then go for 2 or 3 days in a row and repeat. Anything from normal to soft to loose. I read its normal so havent worried

JC84 · 24/06/2022 18:59

@Jaaxe I had my tests on friday 10th, got results on 17th

Ababy0506 · 24/06/2022 20:01

I’m going to jump out of this group and get in the Jan group I had my scan today and I’m 12+4 so I’m January 2nd 😁
hope you all have fab babies 😘

buzz91 · 24/06/2022 20:13

@Ababy0506 my last was due Jan 2nd and came December 11th so good hedging your bets! 😂welcome!

Jaaxe · 24/06/2022 21:32

@JC84 thanks for this! They did say that if I haven’t heard anything after a week the chances are I’m low risk as they deal with the high risk ones first x thanks all appreciate the replies xx
