Starting a new thread due to last one being full. Such a valuable place to share our journey! Not going to tag anyone in case they don't want to be tagged.

Marching towards or in the beginning of the second trimester!

@DogsAndGin when I found out I was pregnant I brought the book " the day to day pregnancy book" on Amazon and really recommend it, it goes into detail what's happening each day through the whole pregnancy

AG96 · 19/06/2022 21:57

Anyone else still constantly nauseous? Not sure if because of the pregnancy or anxiety 😩

I am still incredibly nauseous and I am on anti sickness medication as in my last pregnancy I was hospitalised with hyperemersis.

I have been reading the modern midwife’s guide to pregnancy and birth by Marie Louise I think it is very informative. I follow her on Instagram and she gives good advice. I like the idea of a day by day pregnancy book so I will have a look at that too.

JC84 · 20/06/2022 07:38

My sickness has passed and I still get waves of horrendous nausea of I dont eat anything for more than 3 hrs
I haven't booked a specific pregnancy massage but I fo have regular sports massage due to terrible knots and tension from head to calves and I went for my first one last week at 13+5 as to avoid first trimester and she has adapted them for me. A good therapist will only make you lie side to side avoid any pelvic region, ankles feet and very top of the shoulder as these can be labour triggers. Perfectly safe if they know what they're doing. I had them all the way thru the last pg as I was in agony and even had acupuncture
I've been constructing furniture and changing my ds into the bigger spare room this weekend
Oh and I fell flat on my ass Saturday in the kitchen too when slipped on a sofa toy after being out in the rain🤦🏼‍♀️

@DogsandGin I have the How to Grow a Baby (and push it out) book. I didn't read it all last pregnancy but it's really fun and has useful stuff in there. It has the weekly sizes with fruit and what's happening that week but basically takes you through the whole pregnancy and birth. Happy to get it out and see what else it talks about if anyone is interested. That's the only one I had though!

lovesT · 20/06/2022 08:13

Looks like lots of us are doing some things around the house haha. My husband is away for almost a week so I decided to paint my daughter's bedroom. I wasn't sure a out painting when pregnant but NHS says it's very unlikely to cause any harm and to have open windows etc. It has been a fun project!

My daughter has been ill with a cough so we've been a bit stuck at home and I was getting bored. My next appointment isn't until 14th July so it feels ages away! It will be the next scan though so that's nice 😊

DogsAndGin · 20/06/2022 08:31

Thank you @tasha4eva10 and @lovesT I’ll check them out!

Tulip1112 · 20/06/2022 08:44

@Zohra806 welcome!! I'm due 17th December eek, how are you feeling? X x

Zohra806 · 20/06/2022 08:50

I’m okay just the odd tiredness other than that all good so far how about urself

LolaJ87 · 20/06/2022 09:20

I've been awol for a few days because I've had a series of migraines and what I think is pelvic girdle pain? I wasn't expecting that yet 😳Has anyone else had it?

I hope the migraines are just due to a hormone surge and will settle down again soon. I usually get one a month, but in my first trimester only had one and it was milder than normal.... then THREE in this past week. I'm exhausted and the week is just starting.

With the migraines, I've also had a reappearance of intermittent nausea and heaved at the smell of dinner last night (usually one of my favourite dinners). I hope this settles again soon!

Anyone else going through a rough patch?

Sunshine92 · 20/06/2022 12:36

Hi all,
just had my scan, measuring 13 weeks, so EDD of 26.12.22! all looking good and I’m breathing a sigh of relief!
Any guesses on gender?

RhiRhi1996 · 20/06/2022 12:39

I had my scan today too, measuring 13 weeks 3 days so moved my EDD to 23rd December now!

I'm debating whether I should pay for 16 week scan for gender or just wait until the 20th week scan 🤔

Sunshine92 · 20/06/2022 12:52

@RhiRhi1996 our NHS trust won’t tell you the gender at the 20 week scan, so we will have to book a private one ☺️

RhiRhi1996 · 20/06/2022 12:59

@Sunshine92 oh really?? I thought they all tell you at 20 weeks 😲i guess I will have to ask , I just presumed they did x

Sunshine92 · 20/06/2022 13:13

@RhiRhi1996 yeah, I assumed they would tell me too, but thankfully with my last pregnancy someone had given me the heads up so we booked in for a private scan! There is a big poster on the wall saying ‘please don’t ask the gender as we will not tell you’ 😂

buzz91 · 20/06/2022 15:22

@Sunshine92 Interesting, great business for the private companies! Wonder if more places will start doing it?
With my last we completely missed that they were subtly trying to get us to ask what the gender was, apparently they don’t offer the info or ask outright if you want to know

ellebelle93 · 20/06/2022 16:27

Hi everyone!

Just found this thread today and thought I'd join in on the fun. Loved reading through and seeing everyone's scan photos. I'm currently 14+3 due on 16th December with baby no. 1. It's reassuring to read that there's so many of you who are still feeling exhausted into the 2nd trimester like I am!

Here's the photos from my scan at 12+5. Any gender guesses? Have a private scan booked for 2nd July to find out what baby is. Can't wait!

Sorry you’ve been poorly @LolaJ87 💐

DogsAndGin · 20/06/2022 17:49

@Sunshine92 how annoying! Hopefully it’ll be quite obvious on the scan and you can see baby’s sex yourselves 🤞🏻😆

LolaJ87 · 20/06/2022 17:55

Thanks @DogsAndGin - and fair play for getting so much done over the weekend!

JC84 · 20/06/2022 18:14

Jaaxe · 20/06/2022 18:28

@LolaJ87 ive had more migraines recently too! Had a bad one last night and through today, just started to get over it now, hoping for a better day tomorrow as it’s my 12 week scan, I’m really nervous x

AG96 · 20/06/2022 18:31

@LolaJ87 sorry to hear about your migraines. I imagine they are horrible! Hope they settle down
