Starting a new thread due to last one being full. Such a valuable place to share our journey! Not going to tag anyone in case they don't want to be tagged.

Marching towards or in the beginning of the second trimester!

@AG96 My mum and dad think boy too Smile I don't have a preference either way - just can't wait to start properly shopping for him/her!

ellebelle93 · 20/06/2022 20:17

@AG96 good luck at your scan tomorrow! Hope all goes well :)

JC84 · 20/06/2022 21:43

I keep thinking about booking a private scan too around 16w but I think they get the gender from bloods they took at 12 weeks so I don't know whether to wait until I see midwife on 4th to see if she has them? That would save me £60 😂
Desperate to know even tho we didn't find out with my little boy 🤷🏼‍♀️

JC84 · 20/06/2022 21:45

@AG96 positive thinking!
I'm sure all will be fine and hopefully baby will cooperate and you will be able to share your exciting news of pink or blue 🤞🏻

SweetMelody19 · 21/06/2022 06:55

Hi can I join this thread please. I've been lingering in the background for a while after having a previous miscarriage. But I had my 12 week scan yesterday and feel so much more relieved. I'm 12+5 and due 29th December. Any guesses on the gender ? I'm unsure 😊

FiJen · 21/06/2022 08:46

Hello! Also looking to join in this thread. I loved being part of similar and having the support when I was pregnant with my first. I am currently pregnant with my second, due the 17th December (6 days after ds turns two 🙈 although he was three days early!)
love seeing everyone’s updates and scan pictures!

Tulip1112 · 21/06/2022 08:47

@FiJen Welcome Due Date Twin!!! Congratulations 🌸

FiJen · 21/06/2022 08:59

@Tulip1112 thank you so much! Congratulations to you too! 💓How are you feeling? I've finally got rid of the nausea and feeling so much better, although do fall asleep on the sofa most nights 😂and already got a little bit of a bump showing. Very different to my first when I didn't show until around 20 weeks, but I started my pregnancy journey a bit thinner that time round haha

LolaJ87 · 21/06/2022 09:10

@Jaaxe wishing you the best of luck for today. I've found I especially get migraines around scans - think it's because of all the tension. Have you found anything that helps really? I'm using a combo of cool strips and paracetamol, it doesn't help much at all and my consultant said I can use codeine now I'm in the second trimester, but I'm too paranoid to.

Let us know how your scan goes!

@AG96 Best of luck with your scan today! Scanxiety is the worse, but I'm sure it'll go great. Do you have any strong feelings about what you're having?

Tulip1112 · 21/06/2022 09:27

@FiJen I'm the same!! My mum takes great pleasure in telling me my shape has completed changed and she can see my bump now! I still see chub and feel frumpy so I'm weirdly looking forward to getting a bigger belly. I'm exhausted too, but my nausea keeps hanging around unfortunately, although I'm not as sick now! I have a private scan on Friday so I can tell people at 15 weeks- it's going to be a bit obvious soon so I can't leave it much longer! I've been super cautious as this is my 3rd pregnancy after 2 losses 🌈🌸 x x

Tulip1112 · 21/06/2022 09:28

Good luck for ladies with scans today 🌸

Tofu35 · 21/06/2022 09:47

After the first scan showed a stubborn and upside down baby, I'm going to another one (15 wks) today! It's also when they'll do the blood tests etc, will be good to see another scan image, if it's clear I'll try and put it up here to show everyone!

Because they were upside down last time, it was impossible to measure them and give us accurate dates. So maybe after today I can also put my due date on the board!!

Obviously bit of nerves about going but hoping that my tiredness and constant retching is a sign that everything will look as it should on the screen.

Tulip1112 · 21/06/2022 09:48

@Tofu35 good luck lovely! Thinking of you today 🌸

AG96 · 21/06/2022 10:23

@ellebelle93 @JC84 @LolaJ87 thanks all, fingers crossed all is well. I feel like I'm having a boy. Have felt that way since the moment I found out 😂

Does anyone have names picked out? (You don't have to post them). I have first and middle names for boy and girl. Using my brother's name as middle name for a boy. My brother who is normally quiet seemed quite emotional when I told him that. It was so nice. So he's put the order in for a boy now 🤣

@AG96 we have a girl name picked out but not a boy name yet. I do enjoy reading MN baby name threads because the level of debate there is hilarious. Some people have vicious dislikes over certain names!
That's so lovely that you are using your brother's name as a middle name (if you have a boy).

AG96 · 21/06/2022 11:01

@Tofu35 I love those threads. People get so heated over certain names 😂 I like all different names, there's none where I'd be outraged if someone named their child it. My girls name is unusual and would imagine some people wouldn't like it. Also the middle name for a girl is Welsh spelling after my grandma (mum's mum) who passed before I was born.

Good luck to everyone having scans today! We have a private one booked for Thursday to find out the sex, 90% sure it's a girl but we will see.

Made a start on the nursery too but can't do much until we know the sex.

Has anyone (moreso those on their 2nd/3rd/4th pregnancy) felt any movement yet? This is my 1st so I'm not expecting to feel anything for a couple of weeks yet (I'm 16 weeks).

We have a girls name that we're both 100% on, and a boys that DP is 100% and I'm maybe 90% on!

Chanel05 · 21/06/2022 12:19

I got my blood results back in the post today. Only had my scan on Wednesday so a decent turnaround.

1:3096 for DS and 1:10000 for Edward's so I'm pleased with the results.

Going to announce on social media later ☺️

RSmamaa · 21/06/2022 13:22

@PinkFizz1 I've felt the odd 'pops' here and there. I'm 14 weeks and felt my first at 17 weeks. All depends on where the placenta is too

Mommabear20 · 21/06/2022 13:54

I felt my DD at 25 weeks, DS at 22 weeks and haven't felt this one yet (15+6).

Jaaxe · 21/06/2022 14:18

Hey all had my scan today! Measuring 12+6 due date moved forward to 28th dec. NT was 1.3 which she said was normal and bloods will be back in a week to 2 weeks. I’ve no idea whether it’s a boy or girl….anyone fancy taking a guess? I don’t think we are going to find out this time as it’ll be our last baby and as it was a surprise pregnancy we thought might be cute keeping gender a surprise this time too x

LolaJ87 · 21/06/2022 14:24

@Jaaxe glad it went well! That looks like a boy to me 😁

GabsK92 · 21/06/2022 14:48

@LolaJ87 i had a two day migraine the other week, it was absolutely awful. I had to take time off work and no amount of paracetamol made it go away. I get them outside of pregnancy too but never two days in a row! Must be the hormones as you say.

@PinkFizz1 I definitely feel movement now. I’m 16+5 today and they started a few days ago. It feels almost like faint muscle spasms/flutters and it’s only a couple of times a day or so but it’s amazing. She always stops moving the second I bring my husband’s hand to my tummy though 🤣 so typical

Zohra806 · 21/06/2022 14:53

Zohra806 · 21/06/2022 14:55
