Starting a new thread due to last one being full. Such a valuable place to share our journey! Not going to tag anyone in case they don't want to be tagged.

Marching towards or in the beginning of the second trimester!

@Jampot36 I got mine a card from bump but it's not specifically for father's day - it's his birthday on fathers day too ! really funny that working out cos it's his first too 😊 however I did get my own father a mug saying "promoted from cat grandad to human grandad" 😂 again it's the first grandchild for all our parents !

Is anyone else's stomach hard at the top? Mine has been since about week 12 and just feels like it's getting bigger. I'm plus size (20) and people have already mentioned I'm showing at 15 weeks. Feel like because the top is hard it's a round bump 😂

Do you mean above the belly button? If so yes, that part is definitely more solid than my lower abdomen. Which doesn't make much sense as the baby and uterus are still low down.

I'm 15 weeks too and definitely have a bump.

AG96 · 15/06/2022 11:02

@Nutella99 yeah above belly button. I thought that as well because baby is still so low down and according to my app the size of a donut this week 😂 seems odd that the top is so hard.

Already can't wait for maternity leave. Not sure if it's pregnancy hormones but I have no patience for work at all. Actually hate being here now! (Not that I loved it before anyway lol). When are you planning to finish work? I'm hoping beginning of November

buzz91 · 15/06/2022 11:36

@AG96 just put my maternity leave notification through, I’ve requested from 21st Nov, but I’ll have some holiday/bank holiday allowance to use too. Thought if I go early as with my dd I’ll have two weeks off to bask in silence first - which is how long I had with dd (despite expecting 5 weeks!)

stuntbubbles · 15/06/2022 11:37

Back from my scan and there’s a baby in there! Despite weeks of projectile vomiting it still comes as a surprise Grin

Measuring 4 days behind vs my period-derived dates but this one was a late implanter so I’m not worried, however, I’m now due January! Hope I can stay in the December club as it’ll probably be a festive C-section. Despite extreme wriggling and little frog leg kicking, too small still for the nuchal measurements so I’ve got another bonus scan in a week.

Between the migraine and the adrenaline I 100% need a four-hour nap now.

GabsK92 · 15/06/2022 12:01

Hi all hope you’re doing well, it’s so great seeing all those scans. Anyone else showing sometimes a lot and sometimes not so much? 🤣 I have a tiny bump in the morning but by 2pm baby girl is OUT. Maybe she’s not a morning person. Week 16 today and looking forward to my next scan in a week. I’m living abroad and we seem to get scans every 4 weeks so I’m not complaining!

Just a little tip if anyone wants to try,
I have been taking my pregnancy vitamins (it’s just one tablet with everything in) right before bed instead of in the morning, I did it mainly because it’s like swallowing a glasses case and it made me feel more queasy of a morning. But since taking it of a night I’m finding it easier to wake up in the morning to get ready to do the school run and work, I’m a terrible morning person anyway so all the help I can get us a bonus.

Just thought I would mention it in case it works for anyone else. 😎

DogsAndGin · 15/06/2022 13:08

@CP22 ooh a little boy! How wonderful! Congratulations! We have already started saying 'she' and 'her' and have even landed on a name... for now! It will be very interesting to find out if both of our predictions from the specialists turn out to be correct!

DogsAndGin · 15/06/2022 13:11

@GabsK92 lucky you getting so many scans! Gorgeous dress by the way! I'm a little behind you with the bump, but definitely showing more by the evening

@Ababy0506 Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a go. You made me LOL at 'glasses case'! 😂

GabsK92 · 15/06/2022 13:57

@DogsAndGin thank you! It’s a maternity dress from ASOS ❤️

Jampot36 · 15/06/2022 14:49

@GabsK92i love that dress! Where are you based? Yup morning I have what could be mistaken for a post pasta dinner belly, by lunchtime its all popped out!

hopefulsunshine11 · 15/06/2022 14:59

Because I'm overweight and a size 22 I'll probably not get a nice wee bump, I'm a bit bloated looking, I have a wedding next month and can't find anything! Whenever I put in my size everything is beige and grandma-fied! I want something bright and cheery for a summer wedding. My bloat is above my belly button too though, and it is harder than lower belly.

lifechanginglemoncake · 15/06/2022 15:20

Hi @hopefulsunshine11 - it sounds like we may be similar shapes. Finding maternity wear is tricky. I found that things that are fitted round the bust and then loose in normal clothes worked well for me as well as the occasional maternity piece. Just to say as well, towards the end I did have a lovely bump last pregnancy so it does come, and how you dress makes a big difference to how you feel - some outfits look more 'bump' than others.

hopefulsunshine11 · 15/06/2022 16:35

@lifechanginglemoncake Haha I have been wearing things like that and my boobs spill out but it seems my only option just now. The dress I wore at the weekend I looked huge in it the way it sat. I think I'll just need to order a lot of different dresses and have a fashion show. I'll be over 20 weeks by the time the wedding is here so hopefully look more of a bump shape!

Maternity clothes are hard to buy for plus size, but just going a size up should help.

BuchananBaby · 15/06/2022 16:46

I woke up full of energy and got a bit over excited and started washing windows, doors and clearing out cupboards ended up knackering myself out and in bed from like half 2. Poor DP had to take DD while he was working so I could nap 🙈 I am here in body not in spirit as I'm still exhausted 😩

AG96 · 15/06/2022 16:48

@hopefulsunshine11 @lifechanginglemoncake buying clothes when plus size is so hard, pregnant or not! Drives me mad. I've been wearing leggings a size larger and big t-shirts. Not very flattering at all. I feel rubbish at plus size fashion and even worse at it now my belly is growing.

I'm struggling a bit with my own image at the moment and think pregnancy is making it worse. No idea how to not look rubbish all the time. I look in the mirror and just think what am I meant to do 🤣

lifechanginglemoncake · 15/06/2022 16:55

@AG96 @hopefulsunshine11 totally get you. I think being pregnant and feeling a bit rubbish physically makes it even harder to feel positive about yourself. I'm finally starting to feel more pregnant and less just unwell so I'm hoping my brain might catch up and help me feel more positive.

Oh god I do this ALL THE TIME. “I feel great today! Should I conserve this energy to last an entire day, OR!!!!” And then I do too much and collapse. It’s so frustrating because “too much” when pregnant is my non-pregnant “barely anything”. Aaargh. Roll on the third trimester weird burst of vigour where you paint ceilings at 3am and solve the climate crisis.

First scan today due 23rd of December

Jaaxe · 15/06/2022 17:53

@7679aga lovely scan pic! Congrats!

anyone had stabbing pains in what feels like high up in the cervix? Got my 12 week scan on Tuesday, belly seems bigger and no bleeding but keep getting shooting type pains high up in the vag?!

Tofu35 · 15/06/2022 17:57

@BuchananBaby @stuntbubbles same! I spent today looking up lovely nutritious dinners that needed a wee bit of effort to make (now I have my appetite back), but it got to 4pm and I was so knackered that my dinner tonight is 2 sandwiches and some crisps (husband is at football tonight so I'm in charge of my dinner!).

Sdoubleyou · 15/06/2022 17:58

I had my 14 week appointment with my doctor today and we got our Harmony results. Low risk for all, I'm so relieved! I even got a little peek at bébé, looked all snuggly and sleeping away in there. I wasn't expecting an appointment where we check but she said we'll be looking at every appointment to make sure everything is ok. I'm a little impressed. We've also got the gender, it's written on a piece of paper that's taped to my fridge and I haven't looked at yet. DP and I are going to look tonight (I'm five hours after UK time), but I am DYING to know! Not sure I'm going to be able to sleep after finding out, I'm already busting!

Jampot36 · 15/06/2022 18:07

@7679aga we're due date buddies!

@Jaaxe yes i was getting those last week, i think its just things growing and making space but its not pleasant!

@lifechanginglemoncake I've seen some lovely shirred dresses, I'm struggling with lengths at 5ft 1 but there's a lot of really nice summery styles around and some come in quite cheap. Order a load and send back what you dont like?

I told my boss today, was a bit worried as been trying to get more money since Jan but he's really happy, no problem at all and still pushing the directors for my payrise so hoping that happens soon! Feels nice to have it out in the open.

Mommabear20 · 15/06/2022 18:26

Spent the day in London for my DH birthday, I forgot how much I hate it here 😂 I completely see how some people love it, but as someone from a smaller city, that wants to move out to the country, London is hell on Earth! Is also as hot as hell here today, think baby's gonna be feeling like it's in a hot tub right now! 😂

HayleyBean · 15/06/2022 18:26

Hey so I got my test results back for Down's syndrome & Edward's etc. Down's came back as 1:7729 and Edward's as 1:20,000. I know the Down's is a good result and cause for concern would be 1:150 but I can't help but worry!
