Starting a new thread due to last one being full. Such a valuable place to share our journey! Not going to tag anyone in case they don't want to be tagged.

Marching towards or in the beginning of the second trimester!

Congratulations @MrsCrumbtious we are due date twins too :)

LolaJ87 · 13/06/2022 16:46

Great to see so many lovely scans ladies ❤

Unfortunately things are still a bit shit for me. Third NIPT was inconclusive (very unusual apparently) and now I've been referred to the fetal assessment unit for an early detailed anatomy scan. My appointment is on Thursday. I don't know how to get through the week until then.

DogsAndGin · 13/06/2022 18:49

@LolaJ87 I’ve got everything crossed for you. Try and keep busy this week to take your mind off it xx

ElephantGrey101 · 13/06/2022 23:30

Can I join this thread. I am on the January one but my due date is the 29th of December. It is my second baby. I am a bit worried because I have been having problems getting booked in with the midwife and I am on holiday at the moment. I am 11 weeks and 5 days so now I am worried that I might not get my 12 weeks scan in time.

DogsAndGin · 14/06/2022 05:13

We sent our scan pictures to the nubologists for £8.99! They are very confident it’s a girl! We’re over the moon!

They also give a very detailed written reason as to their analysis. Maybe they’re right, maybe they’re wrong - but it’s very interesting!

PinkFizz1 · 14/06/2022 08:26

@DogsAndGin I think girl too! Looks a bit like mine and every single nub group I’ve submitted to on FB have said girl 100%… we find out next week. I’ll be completely honest and admit I feel a tiny bit.. (I’m not sure what the word is tbh?) I just always pictured a boy. My partner already has a girl, I’d love love love a boy. Obviously I’d love my baby whatever sex they are, but I will admit to googling gender disappointment a bit this week.

It’s hard to admit this but I feel this is a safe space to do so. I’ll get there, it’s just a bit of readjusting to my way of thinking.

hope no one judges me 😔

LolaJ87 · 14/06/2022 09:35

@DogsAndGin thanks.

I'm feeling mega depressed tbh. I wish I could just be excited about my baby instead.

I still love seeing all the happy news though, great to see so many beautiful scans.

Mommabear20 · 14/06/2022 10:04

@PinkFizz1 no judgment at all! I'm really hoping for a girl too so if it turns out it's another boy I'd be the exact same!

CP22 · 14/06/2022 10:21

@DogsAndGin Ooh thanks for this I’m going to do it too!

Wanderlust16 · 14/06/2022 10:30

Just incase anyone knows, I’ve got an NHS scan next week as they couldn’t get clear measurements to work out my due date and do any other tests for my 12 week scan. I’ll be at least 15 weeks at my scan, do we think they will check the sex then or just wait until 20 weeks? Just curious :)

Jaaxe · 14/06/2022 12:18

Hi all can’t keep up with all the messages!

@LolaJ87 i really hope everything goes well for you!

@PinkFizz1 defo people all have a slight preference but whatever you have you will love unconditionally so do not worry about that. I thought I wanted a boy first and had a girl and then I’d of picked girl over and over again as she was my little best friend. 2nd time I had a boy and he’s the cuddliest most loving boy ever I couldn’t imagine not having a boy. I then wanted a girl 3rd time for my eldest daughter to have a sister and got a girl and now this time I plan on a suprise as I really couldn’t care less they are both wonderful! Obviously be nice to have a boy to even it out but they are both a blessing!

@Wanderlust16 they can tell sex at 15weeks as private places do it from then but I don’t know nhs would, I reckon it would depend on the sonographer.

sorry I haven’t managed to catch up with all the messages will try catch up today!

lovely to see everyone’s scans, my 12 week is next week on 21st, atm due date off my period is 31st dec/ 1st Jan…so we will see what they say.

baby2in2022 · 14/06/2022 13:00

@PinkFizz1 no judgement here. It actually makes a change for people to want a boy. Usually on threads I read around gender disappointment the poster is upset to be having a boy. Xx

RhiRhi1996 · 14/06/2022 13:13

I have a slight preference for a girl, due to nothing other than finding the clothing for girls so much nicer! But as its my first , I will just be happy to have a healthy baby, whether boy or girl doesn't matter!

Orcarain · 14/06/2022 14:12

@PinkFizz1 I totally get what you mean. My partner already has a boy... so I'd love a girl but I'm absolutely certain I'm having a boy. Either way, I'll be besotted... I just know it.

Screening scan was today. Baby not for moving AGAIN! Anyone else have lazy babies? This time turned completely on its side away from the screen. Got to see its lovely spine though haha. I'm so fascinated by it all. At one point I thought I could see toes... but then was told it was the umbilical cord 😂She pointed out its bladder as well. Mental to think they're only the size of a lemon when they're all big on the screen!

Lots of shoogiling about they were able to do the measurements. I know health boards are different everywhere - but when did people get their results? I just really want to start telling people, but I suppose it's not hard to wait another 2 weeks.

AG96 · 14/06/2022 14:14

Before being pregnant I always wanted a girl but as soon as I got pregnant I feel like I'm having a boy and honestly now want a boy

@RhiRhi1996 that's my reasoning as well! I love both my DC equally so will be happy either way, but shopping for my DD is a million times easier than for my DS! She has twice as many clothes as him and I could early but more for her 😂

KittyKat1989 · 14/06/2022 14:36

I had my 16W midwife appointment today (at 15+3). It was quite underwhelming really - she took my blood pressure, I handed over my urine sample and she used a doppler to check the heartbeat - I couldn't really identify what I was supposed to be hearing, but she seemed happy enough, so that was nice and really reassuring.

It was only after I left that I realised she didn't give me the MAT1B form which I thought was supposed to be at that session - does anybody know if it follows in the post, or shall I follow up with the midwife?

KittyKat1989 · 14/06/2022 14:45

I've just looked at my notes again and it looks like the MAT1B form is after the 20W point, not at 16W!

RhiRhi1996 · 14/06/2022 14:45

@Mommabear20 haha actually thinking about it, perhaps boy is best for my bank account 😅i can see myself being unable to resist all the cute girl outfits and over buying what I don't need! But I find most of the boys stuff "meh" so would be more sensible 😂

@KittyKat1989 is that the form for free dentistry / prescriptions(although prescriptions are free in Scotland anyway aren't they so was confused when it said that) I got mine at my 8 week booking appointment. She told me to fill it out when I get my due date at my scan.

I was actually a bit confused with that myself , I am long overdue the dentist so want to book soon, but the form says to give back to your health care advisor and they send it off to get a certificate or something? Is that correct? She has already filled out the bits of the form she has to do so. Do I have to wait until my 16 week appointment with her ?

I can't remember what she said to me at the booking appointment as it was so much information. I suppose I can message and ask her or wait until my scan and ask the sonographer if she knows what I need to do.

Chanel05 · 14/06/2022 14:46

@KittyKat1989 yep, I got my MATB1 after my anatomy scan.

buzz91 · 14/06/2022 15:00

Had my dating scan today and have moved forward two days, so now due 18th.

My bladder was ridiculously full so once she’d had a quick look I had to go empty, apparently still a bit on the full side when I got back but I was a lot more comfortable and it was a test on my bladder control to stop mid flow ready for the sample after!

Baby wouldn’t stop moving but wouldn’t get in the right position, so took a while for her to get the info she wanted for the tests. But all excited now, gonna tell our 4yo later!

KittyKat1989 · 14/06/2022 15:03

Hi @RhiRhi1996 - I'm in England and got the free prescription certificate by email immediately after my 8W booking appointment. I didn't need to do anything else or fill it out at all. Perhaps it is different in Scotland?

The MAT1B is to give to your employer for maternity pay, and we get this after 20W - I was confused and thought it was 16W! Is it too early for baby brain to be kicking in?!

baby2in2022 · 14/06/2022 15:25

@buzz91 glad it went well. I was the same. I was in so much pain. I part emptied my bladder twice and it was still too full that I had to empty completely. The letter said a pint and a half. Sonographer said I must be really hydrated person and to just have half a pint next time. Xx

PinkFizz1 · 14/06/2022 16:00

Thanks everyone for the lonely non judgemental messages. I knew this was a safe space to air my feelings 🥰🙏🏼

BuchananBaby · 14/06/2022 16:22

@RhiRhi1996 I'm in Scotland and I was told I didn't need a certificate for free dental care and just to show the dentist my badger notes which the dentist accepted without questions.

@buzz91 fantastic news on the good scan 🥰

@Orcarain I had my scan on Thurs 26th then got a call about my results on Mon 6th about the issue with my bloods but there were 2 bank holiday days in between, hopefully it won't be too long for you 🥰
