Anyone due February? I know it’s super early but I’ve had my BFP at what I think is 8DPO so it looks like I’ll be due the first few days of February!

Is anyone planning on attending the baby show or the baby and toddler show? I’m thinking to attend one of them, not sure which one yet though! I’m a bit confused by the dates and things but I’ll probably go to the baby show in London in October!

Hello πŸ‘‹πŸ» can I join? Just got my BFP at 9DPO. It will be baby #3 x

Cherrymarket · 30/05/2022 15:35

Hi @WingingIt09 what a lucky thread you started! Congratulations πŸ₯³

@Peonies94 i don’t think I will be going as they are all so far away from me, but the online one a couple of years ago was helpful!

Peonies94 · 30/05/2022 15:41

@Cherrymarket it’s quite far from me too! When I seen the advert though It did look really good! Not sure it’ll be worth the effort or travelling! The only one suitable to me is the London one, based on dates or there’s one baby and toddler one which may be in Manchester! Both are around the same distance for me so I may look into which one is best! I’m not sure the dates on the Manchester one are right though!

@WingingIt09 congratulations!

@Peonies94 @Cherrymarket thank you!

It's baby #3 for me so I won't be going to the baby show as I have everything I need. Highly recommend it though for FTM I really enjoyed it with my first x

Peonies94 · 30/05/2022 15:52

@WingingIt09 thank you! That’s good to know! This is my first and so I’m really considering going! It’s in October so 3 months before due date, I thought that would be the right time to go too? I would have found out the sex too ☺️!

Thats exciting, and quicker than I remember from my first πŸ˜…

Just goes through personal details, health questionnaire about you and the father, works out due dares, gives forms for bloods and a urine dip if I'm not mistaken? They should then give you/request the bits needed to get maternity exemption for prescription and dental care etc. Think that's it basically.

You'll get your booklet which is your maternity notes which you take to all appointments.

Learning from my first, I'd recommend finding out when to expect future appointments and if you're high risk when you'll see the consultant etc as this wasn't made clear to me and I missed out on some things I needed

Peonies94 · 30/05/2022 17:45

@BeeYellowMumma thank you for that! Will bare that in mind

ive just started spotting 😌

Hi all! Found out last Wednesday (took test a few days before period due). We’d only been trying for one month. It is my second, first born Feb 2019, so they’ll be almost exactly 4 years apart.

i had pretty severe birth trauma and post natal mental health difficulties/sleep deprivation and so I’m very nervous about number 2. Our DD is VERY β€œspirited” and needs the attention of 2 people at all times πŸ˜‚ so no idea how she’s going to feel.

I had pretty severe nausea and vomiting last time so nervous about that. I’ve gone off food a bit so far but no more than that.

hi to everyone 😁hope everyone’s remain OK.

Peonies94 · 30/05/2022 19:03

@drpowk congratulations and wishing you the best of luck! I’m sure they’ll become best of friends❀️

Hi Drpowk, my DD1 is a similar age, and I also had severe trauma first time round and have self referred to MH midwifery team, I actually approached them before TTC as I'm so nervous. I totally get where you're coming from.

My daughter has been as you have labelled "spirited" and I can't wait for bed time 😴

Just wanted to show solidarity with second time round through trauma ❀️

drpowk · 30/05/2022 19:32

@WingingIt09 what’s the age gap between yours? My sister and I are super close (20 months) so I’ve got no idea what a 4 year gap will be like to navigate.

WingingIt09 · 30/05/2022 19:38

@drpowk there's 2 years between my 2 DDs. This time the gap will be bigger, with 3.5 years between DD2 and baby #3.

drpowk · 30/05/2022 19:39

@BeeYellowMumma I had a really difficult first pregnancy and traumatic birth (EMCS) and then other stuff and it felt like a real tsunami of emotions. I don’t know what to do this time. C section means slow recovery and difficulty looking after number 1 (we don’t have a lot of support nearby) but risking hoping it happens naturally means I risk another emergency c section (I was induced early due to my concerns of her moving less but induction failed). Feels like a really difficult call to make. I hated the c section but I was completely exhausted by that point, so maybe going in fresh knowing what’s going to happen would be easier.

It's so hard. I'm really conflicted, won't go into details but mine was a vaginal birth, I was meant to be planned C section but daughter had other ideas. This time has to be a c section, like you frightened of it, as well as all the healing after. It's taken this long to bite the bullet and try for number 2, and now it could be happening I'm having so many doubts and panic attacks already. Others good stories don't seem to pacify me and my brain is already going awol

GeometricCurtain · 30/05/2022 19:55

Hi all may I join?
Got a positive result last Thursday and the online calculators estimate my due date as Jan 31st or Feb 1st.
This will be my second, but my first was so, so many years ago I've forgotten it all! It's exciting yet bloody terrifying 😁

Peonies94 · 30/05/2022 20:04

@GeometricCurtain congratulations! Best of luck to you! Same due dates as me, they are the two I’ve had on two separate calculators! I found out two weeks ago though because I tested so early! Feels like a lifetime!!

@Peonies94 Thank you! Congratulations to you too and everyone else on the thread.
I'm finding it so hard not to talk about it with family and friends, but I know it's too early yet. Of course DP knows
😁

Ah it’s so nice to know someone in very similar boats. I keep forgetting and then panicking. I really don’t know what to do. The PND/Anxiety and feelings of failure from not being able to breastfeed and then zero sleep (I can’t really nap and she woke up every 3 hours like clockwork for forever). My husband did a huge amount and is basically β€œmum” to her even though I’m here every single day every bedtime etc, which is still painful. I’m super glad we are co parents down the middle but I’ve struggled to find anyone else like us and so have felt very much β€œless than” as a parent (and he has no dads he relates to). It’s hard for him to because I do get upset about it.

I know this time won’t heal any of that (if it happens) but I’m hoping I can be a bit more relaxed and less guilty and less rigid about what I expect of myself. And now I’m also used to extreme sleep deprivation…

Onebabyandamadcat · 31/05/2022 07:19

Well it's officially missed period day. Tested again this morning. Think the cheapie is a bit faint for my liking but the first response looks good I'd say. What do you guys think? Have had a constant headache the past two days and feeling a bit queasy so hoping I've got a sticky bean this time. Also know that all of this means absolutely nothing about the viability of the pregnancy. Will see where I am in a week and then maybe call EPU where I'll be able to get an early scan after my losses.

Peonies94 · 31/05/2022 07:33

@GeometricCurtain it’s so hard isn’t it! I’m going to tell reslly close family at 8 weeks if we make it there, after our early scan!

@Onebabyandamadcat congratulations☺️!!

OP posts:
Ohrwurm · 31/05/2022 07:58

I've already told close family but I think that's due to a previous MMC and I had told no one. So I'm happy to let close family know so there's support there in case anything goes wrong but I know we're all different...some may want to keep things private 😊

How is everyone feeling today?

I'm 4+4 now and I have very mild food aversion in the mornings. Nothing is appealing and I couldn't finish my Weetabix this morning. I also have loose stools in the evenings. Apart from those digestive issues, I feel fine at the moment! I had major food aversion and on and off nausea with DS so early signs are this pregnancy will likely be similar.

Used up my last test this morning and I have the doctor on Thursday.

@GeometricCurtain I've told DH (obvs) and one of my best friends. I speak to her daily and could not have not told her. We will also probably tell our parents. I've had 2 previous miscarriages and it was definitely easier when parents knew already.
