Anyone else due January 2023?! Found out yesterday I'm pregnant with baby #2. If my dates are right, I'm 3+6, due 27th January! My daughters a Jan baby, but was due feb (she was 3 weeks early). May just must be a very fertile month for us! We fell pregnant last May too, but never met them😢.

@Kerryw93 Good Luck for today 💕- Look forward to the update.

I had a few weeks like that from 10 - 13 then the morning sickness made a return. I seen a physic not long after i found out i was pregnant and i didn't let on i was pregnant. She didn't pick up at that point i was actually pregnant but told me one was on the horizon and my morning sickness will be intense in the second trimester. So far its been ok but defiantly there 😂.

Overall I cant complain too much - I've been ok. I can defiantly feel my clothes getting tighter but don't have a bump yet. I'll be 16 weeks on Friday. Got my 16 week midwife appointment next week and my 20 week scan on 19th August.

LA9610 · 18/07/2022 08:09

@Kerryw93 I was only ever sick one day in the first trimester but I felt sick for weeks at a time which was really tough. That all seemed to disappear around weeks 12/13. Only thing I still have is tiredness, I get so sleepy in the afternoon and struggle to stay awake past 9pm at night. I had an all day wedding on Saturday so was on the go from 7am to 2.30am and omg I was struggling in the night time and was so tired and had a headache all day yesterday after it! So wouldn't say my energy came back yet but I'm glad the nausea has gone!

@Laurzz I'm still the same, no actual bump yet but can definitely feel my clothes getting tighter! Not sure how much longer ill be getting into my jeans lol. Got my midwife appointment on Wed and then scan at 21 weeks on the 21st 😊

TokenGinger · 18/07/2022 14:49

@Kerryw93 Good luck for your scan today, I hope everything went okay.

I have no bump yet either but things are definitely tighter. I need to get some maternity jeans soon. I don't have anything to hold up the over bump ones buts the under bump ones with a fabric panel over the front might just give me a bit more comfort. I'm living in gym leggings at the moment, haha. Well, except today. Today I am wearing a bra and knickers only.

On the pram question, I had a Cosatto 3 in 1 which was fine enough and we'll use that again this time. I wish I had bought second hand though, because it was so expensive and my DS outgrew it so quickly!

PoppyHenry · 18/07/2022 16:35

I’m feeling ok tired and definitely showing but I think it’s a combination of progesterone and this being baby number three. So living in cool dresses and cycling shorts underneath to prevent thigh rub 😂😂
im 15 weeks on Thursday. My 20 week scan is 25th August xx hope your all managing to stay cool as you can xx

Kerryw93 · 18/07/2022 18:20

Guys it went well !!!! Baby is doing great, measuring ahead by a day at 12 weeks +3 days.
The sickness I'm pleased has gone but I feel sorry for people who get it all day everyday 😅 , how is everyone coping in this heat, any tips to keep dogs cool ?! My German shepherd is melting away.
Definitely relating to clothes getting tighter. Does anyone enjoy having a proper bump? I really struggle with a bump as I'm 5ft2 and normally a size 8, I get really down about it 🤦🏻‍♀️ all part of the parcel though, its just learning to love yourself even when you don't resemble yourself lol xx

Baby January 2023!
Laurzz · 19/07/2022 09:02

@TokenGinger My grandad who has dementia told me to stop wearing those "tights" as trousers 😂. I've been living my leggings.

@PoppyHenry That's exactly what i do with the cycling shorts. Time seems be flying by!

@Kerryw93 very clear scan photo. Delighted for you 😁. We have a lab and i bought these cool mats from B&M. You put them in the fridge for an hour and it keeps them cool throughout the day. She loves it and has been opting to lie on that instead of her bed. I'm a size 12 but actually looking forward to the bump! This is my first pregnancy's so might not be saying that once it gets to December 😂.

💕

TokenGinger · 19/07/2022 10:46

@Laurzz That's brilliant! 😂 Bless your granddad ❤️

@Kerryw93 That's such a clear scan! I'm so pleased for you that everything went okay. I'm a bit of a chubber, I never lost my baby weight from DS so I'm a 14, sometimes a 16, and I'm actually looking forward to the bump so I look less fat and more pregnant 😂

@PoppyHenry I'm with you on the thigh rub 😂 I've got some chub rub shorts from Snag Tights and they're fab!

Pickle0901 · 20/07/2022 14:08

How's everyone doing?

I had a really good weekend, where I was able to enjoy a hen night but since then the nausea and tiredness is through the roof! Don't know if I pushed myself too much or just the way it goes.

I'm 13+4 today & was hoping it would all start to ease now I'm in second trimester.

The other thing I wondered if anyone has any experience of, is that I've had my test results through today from the bloods at the 12wk scan and the good news is that I'm low risk for downs and edwards etc. but I have low Papp-A, so I've been told to take aspirin every night now until the baby is here and have another type of scan in September to check things. It's all to do with the placenta not providing enough and the baby potentially being small etc, so they have to check regularly for size etc. I'd never heard of it before so at first I was a bit upset and worried but I've done a bit of reading and it seems if they monitor you it's typically okay. X

TokenGinger · 21/07/2022 08:27

Hey @Pickle0901, I'm sorry you had that news. My SIL has low PAPP-A and my niece was absolutely fine when born. Maybe a little smaller than some, I think she was around 6lb.

I'm 13+3 today and I thought my nausea had gone, too, but this morning whilst in the bathroom with DS, he was sitting on the toilet and just the thought of it made me wretch. He hadn't even done a wee or anything, I think just the thought of a poo turned my tummy 😂

I'm hoping it was a one-off, it's been nice to eat something other than bread this past week! Xx

Pickle0901 · 21/07/2022 09:48

@TokenGinger thank you... that's reassuring.
From what I'm reading, it usually doesn't cause too much concern. I think they just put all the worst case in the leaflet and it makes you panic. At least we know about it, so we can be aware.

Hopefully it's a one off. It is funny how the thought of things can turn your stomach. I remember in the beginning not being able to open my fridge. I had to ask my parents to go through everything in the fridge. Luckily it was a one off but it was like a phobia... not that there was anything bad in there.

And then this morning I made a piece of toast and as soon as I smelt it I wretched. But I have been weird with the smell of toast for some reason all the way through.

I am determined to find a good pregnancy journal as I'd like to write down some of these funny things and the journey for the baby in the future. My mum wrote one when she was having me and when I read it a few weeks ago, it was really interesting and nice to see. Xx

I also have low Papp-a, I have heard of a couple others in this group having it also, it sounds scary when you google but try to stay off google, I was recommended to take 150mg dissolvable aspirin every night. I have my 16 week midwife appt on Thursday so will grill her about it, but it is deffo not the end of the world. There is a Fb group aswell which shows that majority of people aren't affected by it 😊 you will be monitored more closely and have more growth scans to check what's going on x

CJones11 · 25/07/2022 11:51

Hi everyone. How are you all getting on?
I'm 17 weeks today and have struggled more this time around than with my son🤯 sickness, exhaustion, and very emotional.

I finally had the courage to tell work before breaking up for the summer (teacher) which has meant it is no longer a big secret and feels more real!

Is anyone finding out the sex on their 20 week scan? Or does anyone already know?

Brightonbelle87 · 25/07/2022 14:17

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted for aages!

I'm 17 weeks today too @CJones11 sorry to hear you're having a tough time of it, teaching as well would be exhausting! Hopefully the summer break will help. And definitely finding out the sex at my 21 week scan, I'm just too impatient!

I've been having some muscle aches in my lower belly over the last two weeks, think it must be my growing belly and round ligament pain?? My gp also has me on iron folic acid and vit D supplements, I feel like a walking dispensary!

Hope everyone has a good week x

Brightonbelle87 · 25/07/2022 14:19

@Pickle0901 a journal sounds like a wonderful idea, I might start one! Are there specific pregnancy ones?

LA9610 · 25/07/2022 15:08

Hi everyone,

Not posted in a while as not been getting any notifications so presumed there was no chat going on! @Kerryw93 what a lovely clear scan photo!

@CJones11 we are not planning to find out the sex. When TTC we always agreed we would as both are impatient and I like to be organised but now we are actually pregnant I'd quite like to just wait and find out, DH just does whatever I decide so if i'm happy to wait then that's cool with him too 😂

@Pickle0901 when I found out I was pregnant my DH gave me a pregnancy journal, it's personalised so it has 'tales of the bump' by my name on the front and it has pages for each week plus notes pages and spaces for pictures. It was really sweet because my DH is not usually the most thoughtful person but apparently he bought this as soon as we started TTC expecting me to need it straight away and then obv had to hide it for absolutely ages before he could actually give it to me.

17 weeks tomorrow, wish the next few weeks would hurry up, we don't have the next scan until 21 weeks. How do people last between 20 and 40 weeks lol 🤔

PoppyHenry · 25/07/2022 15:16

Hi everyone, I’m struggling with hot flushes I’m not sure if it’s because I’m on progesterone pessaries but at least the exhaustion has eased xx
we have agreed if we can see the sex at the scan we’ll find out if not we will wait for the surprise xx

TokenGinger · 25/07/2022 16:31

@CJones11 - 17 weeks! Time is flying. It's nice that people know and it's not so much of a secret now. I found out the sex at 10 weeks through the NIPT we had done for genetic reasons. I do quite like knowing :)

@PoppyHenry Hot flushes sound awful! I hope they pass soon.

I'm 15 weeks today. It does feel like time is going so quickly.

I had some spotting last week. Very minor, but I thought I should share it with you. I called the EPU just to check that I didn't have to get checked out or anything, just for peace of mind I was doing the right thing. Anyway, because I am Rh Neg blood group, I had to go in for an anti D injection. I knew about this in my first pregnancy when I had a "proper" bleed, but I hadn't realised that the requirement to have it extending to spotting, too.

PoppyHenry · 25/07/2022 16:50

@TokenGinger im glad all is ok with the spotting and you was given the injection you needed xx I’m 15 weeks and 4 days so we are very close date wise :) x

LA9610 · 25/07/2022 18:41

Oh I meant to ask, did anyone get to hear the heartbeat at the 16 week midwife appointment? My friend at work did but I didn't 😔 (different health boards)

Pickle0901 · 25/07/2022 19:31

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well...

@mrsgtobe97 thanks for sharing & I agree it sounds more scary than it actually is. Hope you're feeling well.

@CJones11 well done on getting it out of the way and telling work. I resonate with how you felt, I'm planning on telling my work this week and I'm dreading it. They are a lovely company but I have a sales role and we have just agreed a big new strategy and feel I'm letting the team down, as we are quite small. Obviously I've still got the rest of the year but it will feel better when they just know.

I wasn't going to find out the sex but I've changed my mind and think I will... although I have a strong feeling about what I'm having so it will be interesting to see if I'm correct.

@Brightonbelle87 yeah I ordered a really nice one from Amazon... it's called bump to birthday and gives you week by week areas to log pregnancy and also put in pictures etc. and it goes all the way through to their first birthday with all the milestones to note and pages to print their hands and feet. It's nice and I like the fact we have somewhere to note down all the things we will inevitably forget in the future.

My OH had a good idea too, to set up an email address for the baby that we can email things that we think of that we want to say or remember for them and in the future they will have a load of memories and thoughts in one place...

@LA9610 that's so thoughtful, what a lovely gift and so nice that you had it ready from the start, I feel I've got to think back over the last few weeks and remember what we were going through etc.

Xxx

VixenAndCub · 25/07/2022 21:11

Hi everyone!

Currently pregnant with #2, due January 16th. I estimated 22nd but the scan revealed I was a little further than I thought! Hope the kiddo sticks to January. I have 4 birthdays in the family in December and of course the holidays 😆
My son was born on his due date so no idea what could happen here.

How's everyone been feeling? I totally understand why people say each pregnancy is different - this one is polar opposite to my 1st in the worst way! Never been so sick in my life.

CJones11 · 25/07/2022 22:30

@Pickle0901 I was in a similar position to you work wise. I recently accepted a one year acting head of department role, covering my current HoDs maternity, then a few weeks later found out I was also pregnant. It was so tough and I put myself into a state of denial with it all. My head took it really well and has been incredibly supportive. I can't imagine she is best pleased but has to remain professional and not discriminate. It is the guilt that comes with being a working parent though 😔

I found out the sex on my first because we really wanted a boy. I thought I wanted a surprise this time but the closer it's getting the more eager I am to know. I love people guessing too!

We are also still in the middle of a house renovation. Thankfully we aren't living in it but my goodness I hope we get to move in before Christmas and our due date 🤯

Kerryw93 · 27/07/2022 07:37

Hey everyone,

Hope all you lovely mommas are doing good?! How is everyone doing?

@CJones11 I bet that is a huge relief now it's out in the open at work? 6 weeks off, woohoo!!! I too work in a school, in the pre school. Are you going to find out the gender before the 20 weeks scan or are you keeping it a secrete?

I have a gender scan booked for 3 weeks time (I'm in patient and have no self control!) Haha,

@congratulations @VixenAndCub ! Hopefully your sickness subsides really soon lol , its awful isn't it 😅😫

How are you feeling now @TokenGinger ? Hopefully the spotting has stopped and is smooth, plain sailing from here on out!

Did anyone get the downs, Edwards and Pataus screening done? Xx

VixenAndCub · 27/07/2022 09:10

@Kerryw93 Thank you! It was on the verge of hyperemesis for a while but thankfully it's slowed down. Not stopped, but least it's not ALL day.

And I had the screening done, got my results back last week.

LA9610 · 28/07/2022 19:33

@Kerryw93 yeah I had the screening done too, all came back low risk 😊
