Anyone else due January 2023?! Found out yesterday I'm pregnant with baby #2. If my dates are right, I'm 3+6, due 27th January! My daughters a Jan baby, but was due feb (she was 3 weeks early). May just must be a very fertile month for us! We fell pregnant last May too, but never met them😢.

Hi all, just to let you all know I gave birth to a gorgeous little girl at 15.07 weighing 7lbs 2oz. A little due date baby. No name yet and thoroughly enjoying this newborn bubble 🥰

H44123 · 02/01/2023 19:37

@CJones11 awww congratulations! Due date as well. Hope you and baby girl are well. Enjoy every second of the newborn bubble! Sending best wishes

Congratulations both!!! How lovely 💖

VixenAndKits · 02/01/2023 22:15

Congratulations to everyone who's had their little bundle of joy so far! Hope you all, and your little ones of course, are doing well ♥️

I'm 38 wks today and still very much pregnant 😆 though every little cramp, pain or twinge makes me wonder if it's time. Last time with my son I rolled out of bed at 3:30am for the loo and my waters broke in Hollywood fashion! Keep expecting it to happen again but been told that's not the norm 😆

My last consultant appointment is tomorrow, and we still haven't heard from the neurologist we've been trying to contact for 7 MONTHS about my conditions and labour so I have a funny feeling he's going to give me a planned C-section to avoid issues...

Has anyone here had a planned section? How did it go? How was the recovery? I'm more worried about that then the surgery itself! How long were you in hospital for, so I know how much to pack.

PopsicleHustler · 03/01/2023 06:10

Morning everyone!
So, as you probably know from my previous updates, I lost my mucus plug last Tuesday. Still continued to lose it, and then was having loads of period pain and cramping and so on! Sunday morning, waters broke spontaneously whilst my lovely eldest girl was brushing my hair. I must have been so relaxed!
Called.my husband at work but told him no rush as.no contractions just yet! After a few hours had a few random contractions but nothing consistent
Went.to hospital and was examined and was between 1 and 2cm dilated. She gave me a sweep and said come back when things picked up or we will induce you in the morning via hormone drip. Which I have had before and hated!
Went home, contractions started firing up! Went back to hospital at around 9pm and was given another sweep, I was 3cm by that point. Put in antenatal ward for the time set. Given paracetamol and codeine, then was given pethidine. Then I literally begged for the gas and air. Which made me totally away with it, I was talking gibberish and falling asleep with it in my mouth.
Morning came and I was examined by the doctor. Still 3cm, she gave.me another sweep, I was totally fed up and felt like I was.like 5 or 6cm but no, brought over to labour ward.so they could give me the hideous and nasty piece of work, hormone drip. But then baby started getting stressed and his heart rate was high, so I had.to have an emergency c section
they rushed us down to theatre and my husband looked like a right hunk in the scrubs lol
Was given the spinal block and general anaesthetic but I kept moving and it.kept.hurting my legs and back. Finally got it in and my legs felt super heavy. Gave birth via emcs at 10.30 to a lovely boy weighing 8lb 4. Currently still on post natal ward for help and monitoring and now hoping to go home later today. Really miss our other children !

I wish you all the best of luck with your babies and a safe delivery, unlike mine ! But at least he is here safe and sound!

LA9610 · 03/01/2023 06:22

Congratulations @PopsicleHustler and @CJones11 lovely news and glad your arrivals are here safe and sound.

Update: still choked with the cold to the point the skin around my nose is completely broken from excessive nose blowing! Have tested Covid numerous times now, all negative. Have an appointment with consultant to discuss planned section tomorrow morning but I started getting what I think? Is contractions last night. It’s only happened a few times now but it’s like an intense period pain but only in one area? It took me by surprise at 1am for the first time, I woke up in pain and I panicked, started crying so rubbed my left eye and now it feels like something is stuck in there even though I can’t see anything. Tried bathing it, dry eye drops etc nothing is making the foreign body sensation go away so that’s another thing to add to my list. I feel like I’ve probably run out of time now to get better 😪

PopsicleHustler · 03/01/2023 06:59

Aww bless you @LA9610 Sounds terrible. My trick to get something out if my eye is to hold my eyelids apart and start blinking fast and furiously for like a solid 2 minutes to get it out. Always worked.

In respect of your cold and chest, have you tried steaming. Maybe do boiling water and olbas oil or vicks vapour rub and keep sweating it all out.
Wish you all the best for your delivery and baby!.

Pickle0901 · 03/01/2023 08:24

Congratulations @PopsicleHustler and @CJones11 it's lovely after all this time to see people starting to have their baby's now.

And congratulations to anyone I've missed, I find I come on when a lot seems to have happened and I'm playing catch up.

For everyone with twinges and waiting, I'm the same... yesterday I felt like when I was walking, I was slow, she was low down and my back was hurting. Saying that I did have a fall down the stairs last week, which shocked me and my back hadn't really been the same since then. She's still very active, especially in the evening when I'm sat down. And I just don't know what to think. I convince myself she'll be here soon and then nothing... it's so strange knowing there's only a few weeks but not knowing when or how it will happen.

I'm at the hospital on Friday to check her out. They always said that because I'm now 40, they would induce me at 38/39 weeks... (I'll be 38wks on Saturday)... but I'm not really a fan of this option, based on things I have read online and things I have read on here. However I don't want to go against anything that is better for the baby. So I'm just getting a bit nervous really... I have always said she will come naturally herself before I have to have anything but she seems quite comfortable in there... we had a 3D scan and she was yawning and throwing her head back, it was the cutest thing. I didn't even know they would be yawning yet.

So congrats and good luck everyone, I wonder who's next! I'm back at work today and as much as I'm not in the mood, the distraction might be good for me.... xx

VgerEdney · 03/01/2023 08:33

Congratulations @CJones11 ! X

Razputini · 03/01/2023 17:27

Congratulations @PopsicleHustler and @CJones11 well done!!! I'm sure you'll find the perfect name CJones, maybe be easier now seeing what they look like? We're still uncertain on a name too. Wow Popsicle you must have got such a shock losing your waters out of nowhere. Glad everything went OK although it must have been a bit scary at the time with the emergency secton. I can imagine you're so excited to go home and have your other children meet the new little one! 😊

@Pickle0901 You're right it's so daunting not knowing when they will come, the uncertainty is just killer. Good luck with your check up on Friday. I'd be exactly the same if they were suggesting inducing me sooner, I wouldn't be sure if it's best to get induced or leave them to cook as long as possible. I was an induced baby (2 weeks late) and my mum was 45, so I'm surprised they're suggesting that, but i'm not sure how it all works if i'm honest. I'm not sure if my mum had declined any earlier inductions though and I can imagine is probably different now

Hope you start feeling better soon @LA9610 some of the bugs going about right now are absolutely vicious

I'm in the same boat with those feeling like every little twinge is something happening, I'm so nervous and excited at the same time. We took a 2 day break to a hotel near the hospital as I was really struggling to cope mentally, I'd had a panic attack in the bathroom one night just from general stress with my toddler, illness, worried about arrangements for childcare when im in labour and the pain of labour etc. I really needed that bit of time away to just reset myself and I'm feeling much better now, filling up my schedule a bit this week seeing family and friends to distract myself. 3 days until I'm due now... Gah one moment I think hell yes i'm going to do this i've done it once I can do it again and the next I'm terrified!! and one moment i'll have super energy, cleaning and tidying and then the next I'm exhausted

TokenGinger · 03/01/2023 17:43

@LA9610 How did your appointment go today? I've ended up in the same situation as you. I'm full of some cold/flu thing that's making me feel dreadful so have no energy at all, and had a midwife appointment on Sunday where baby had dropped in growth. Had a scan today and she's actually on the 97th centile with estimated current weight of 8lb11oz. I have 2 weeks left. They've said they don't want to let her go to full term now as they're concerned re: her size and the risk of shoulder dystocia if she's too big to get out. They asked me there and then to make a decision on induction or c-section. I felt really overwhelmed and opted for induction. I asked the doctor's advice and she said recovery from c-section takes much longer than the discomfort of an induction, and the c-s recovery will be difficult with a toddler too which we're all valid points. She said I can change my mind on the induction day if I decide I don't want it. How did you get on?

I'm really hoping this week baby comes off her own accord. I'm going to get DP to pull down my yoga ball and get exercising and see if that helps x

Kerryw93 · 03/01/2023 18:31

Congratulations @PopsicleHustler and @CJones11 !!!!!!! Xxx

LA9610 · 03/01/2023 20:30

Thanks @Razputini, thankfully my eye is feeling better now at least! Sounds really silly but it was so irritating I literally only got 4 hours sleep last night!

@TokenGinger thats a bit wild they made you decide there 😮 I got to go home and think about it for a couple of days!! In my case because I’m already at 40 weeks and baby is well over 100th percentile (didn’t even know that was possible?!) she actually recommended me not to have an induction as basically said that would only have been beneficial to get the baby out at an earlier stage to prevent the growth reaching this point and because of current size all of the other risks would remain. Are you being induced before your due date?

I’m now booked in for section on Thursday, eeek. Feels so overwhelming that I’ve gone from wanting as natural a birth as possible to most intervention but hey ho.

Ive started having brown discharge since this morning so the cramps last night were obviously related to cervix starting to dilate but not had a proper bloody show or anything yet. Just praying everything holds off until Thurs!

TokenGinger · 03/01/2023 21:01

@LA9610 That makes total sense with you being over 40 weeks! She did say that to me that the closer I get to my due date, the higher the risk will be so there'd be a need for a c-section. Good luck for Thursday! I hope baby holds off until then for you. I'm still not against the idea of a c-section so if it comes to it on Monday (if she's measuring bigger on the scan), then I think I'll request that.

I'm 38+1 now so will be bang on 39 weeks when they induce me, which feels a little bit late to be honest if it's size they're concerned about. My DP is going to get my yoga ball down from the loft tomorrow and I'll try on that over the next few days. I've been having some tightenings and pains today but not sure if that's just because I'm coughing so much that everything hurts.

bedfordmum2210 · 04/01/2023 00:06

Hi everyone. Would love you all to meet Layla born on 1st Jan at 4:27pm weighing 6lb 7. Labour was horrific, drip induction with failed epidural so back to back intense contractions but she arrived safe so that's the main thing xxx

Baby January 2023!

@CJones11 @PopsicleHustler How are you both doing, and your little sweethearts? Xx

Bear486 · 04/01/2023 09:51

Congratulations everyone whose had their little bundles of joy already 🥰🥰

Still no sign of baby here, had a growth scan yesterday where they've said she's around 8lb 11oz now. Was hoping something would have started by now labour wise before Saturday, getting bit nervous about being induced. Not long now though and my little girl will be here hopefully.

Somatronic · 04/01/2023 09:52

Congratulations @CJones11 @PopsicleHustler @bedfordmum2210
