TTC24 · 19/05/2022 09:32

Anyone else due January 2023?! Found out yesterday I'm pregnant with baby #2. If my dates are right, I'm 3+6, due 27th January! My daughters a Jan baby, but was due feb (she was 3 weeks early). May just must be a very fertile month for us! We fell pregnant last May too, but never met them😢.

@PoppyHenry I'm sorry for the loss of your son. Really pleased your scan went well today 😇 congratulations💙💙

Pickle0901 · 26/08/2022 12:16

Hi everyone,
I feel like time is going slow but then when I catch up on here, I see how much has happened!!

Congratulations to everyone who has had their scans etc... and to the new people.

Funnily enough, with regards to gender... originally I was adamant I wanted a surprise, I felt there are little nice surprises in life and wanted to wait... anyway, curiosity got the better of me and I started having really strong sensations/intuition that she's a girl and wanted to know for sure.... we have ended up in the last week having a couple of extra scans due to a couple of complications (nothing to worry about just extra checks due to previous procedures and loss etc).... on both occasions we said yes we would like to know the sex and on both occasions, the baby had other ideas... it seems to lie upside down most of the time and it's hard to see and the legs and feet move so much they couldn't see... so I'm not further into knowing and my partner finds it very funny. I can't wait to find out... My 20 week scan is 7th September so we will see then... I've been told to bring some fizzy drinks in case we need to create a bit more movement.

I also informed work, I was so nervous but thank you @CJones11 for sharing your experience. My bosses were very supportive and lovely, so I'm relieved it's out in the open. Like you say, it's guilt and I have so much launching after the birth, that right now I feel I will log on for those important meetings but who knows when the time comes...

Anyway, hope you're all well! Very exciting time xx

PoppyHenry · 27/08/2022 07:14

@CJones11 thank you we are over the moon but as you can imagine so anxious xx how are you doing?
@Pickle0901 glad all is well our little one was the same and was shy or stubborn unsure which one and kept hiding for some of the pictures so had to have a fizzy drink a biscuit and a walk 😂😂

Pickle0901 · 27/08/2022 09:00

@PoppyHenry thank you and glad all well you you... huge congratulations on your boy 💙

Sxd515 · 27/08/2022 15:00

Hi all. Been ages since I posted on here. So lovely to see 20 week scans happening and people being halfway. I'm 18+5 and we had a private scan recently and found out we are expecting a girl.

Yesterday I tested positive for COVID and then last night my beloved cat died unexpectedly. I'm doing my absolute best to hold it together, rest as much as I can but I'm now so worried my grief combined with illness could harm baby in some way 😢

Not really sure why I'm posting this as such but just feel a bit useless and overwhelmed

Laurzz · 29/08/2022 07:36

@Poppy9991 Congratulations 💙. That's great news everything went well at your 20 week scan.

@Alekss Welcome and Congratulations. Unfortunately, I know nothing about fibroids but if the health care professionals aren't concerned then try not google it or worry too much.

@Pickle0901 Good Luck for the 7th and hopefully baby moves into a position for a clear view 😂. My friend who is due in October was convinced she was having a boy and she said she just 'knew' and she was right. I do believe we have an incline.

@Sxd515 Congratulations 💗. So sorry to hear about your cat and covid. I had covid at 17 weeks and although it was rough me and baby got through it unharmed. Hopefully you are feeling better after the weekend? I'm sure you haven't caused any harm but speak to your midwife. I was so nervous when I had covid but after I spoke to the midwife about my concerns I felt 100 X better. Hopefully you have a better week this week 😀

Kerryw93 · 29/08/2022 16:01

Sorry guys, I'm so rubbish on here 😅 @Laurzz I'm so pleased everything went well into your scan, also pleased your sonograpgher has spread a little bit of hope that the low lying placenta moves up, Google is awful and I hate it 😂 my partner tries to put a Google ban on 😂😂
@PoppyHenry congratulations on your boy and I'm so sorry for your previous loss, I prey this pregnancy goes smoothly for you ❤️
@Sxd515 I'm sorry for the loss of your cat 😭 , I totally understand the need to get things off of your chest too and just get it off your mind. I hope you are feeling slightly less overwhelmed now? ♡
@Pickle0901 I guess your baby wants to stay a surprise 😂😂 , I truly admire people who can resist temptation of finding out.. I am NOT one of those people 😂

My 20 week scan is on the 12th, I'm back at work on Thursday (I work in a pre school and have had the summer holidays off) , I am looking forward to occupying my mind again! I've been having stomach pains horizontally across my stomach (I'm very constipated) so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.. its been on and off all day and is feeling pretty awful 😖 .

Kerryw93 · 29/08/2022 16:02

Sorry I'm getting mixed up with names keeping up with the chat 🙈 @MrsUSAinUK , as above I meant to reply to your low lying placenta lol xx

Pickle0901 · 30/08/2022 11:50

Thanks @Laurzz and @Kerryw93 - I'll keep you posted next week.

Hope you're all doing well.... are you all starting to feel movement. I'm fascinated by it. I get these internal kind of kick sensations and I have a couple of times felt pokey bits sticking up when I touch my tummy.... it's crazy!! I love it!! Xx

TokenGinger · 30/08/2022 14:43

@Pickle0901 I'm not sure if I'm feeling movements yet or if it's just a bit of wind, lol. I suspect it is her, but it just feels so deep into my tummy. They're just like little flutters at the moment. I have an anterior placenta, and I had the same with my son and didn't feel anything with him until 24 weeks so I'm not sure if I'm just imagining it right now x

Laurzz · 30/08/2022 15:03

@Pickle0901 only just starting to feel proper movement at 21 weeks. I also have an anterior placenta so hopefully in a few weeks time i'll feel kicks. Baby usually has a party when its bed time 😂.

Bee16 · 30/08/2022 15:12

Hi ladies, mind if I join you? I'm 22+1 with our first. We found out a couple of weeks ago we're having a boy 💙

I'm not feeling any definite movement yet. The last day or two I've thought I've felt something but it's so subtle I'm not sure if I'm imagining it!

Sxd515 · 30/08/2022 16:33

@Kerryw93 @Laurzz thank you for your kind words. Am on the mend COVID wise and slowly coming to terms with kitty no longer being with us

Lovely to hear all about everyone's movements. I'm 19+1 and feeling flutters but nothing more just yet and they seem very intermittent. Excited for full movement and my husband being able to feel her moving too!

Welcome and congratulations on your little boy.

It's so tough to figure out what is a movement and what isn't. It was only once I was getting swift kicks from DS I thought yep, that's a movement, haha.

CJones11 · 31/08/2022 12:42

The position of the placenta is going to impact when and how strongly movements are felt. I've had posterior both times and have felt them earlier. In fact, while out with my sister on Monday the baby did a huge movement that was visible from the outside. She couldn't believe it as she's always had anterior.

I keep thinking I have plenty of time until baby arrives but then it dawns on me, 4 months on Friday is my due date 🤯 we haven't bought anything and have agreed not to until we move into our new house... the wait is killing me.

How are you all getting on with names? It's something I'm not very good at and find incredibly stressful 🙊

Laurzz · 31/08/2022 12:56

@CJones11 amazing, i cant wait to see movement from the outside. We also haven't bought anything but keep saying once I clear the spare room I'll start buying 😂. My friend gave me one of those sleepy head docks. It is in good condition but will replace the cover. That's the only baby related item I have in the house. I cant believe how quick time is going. Good luck with your move! We eventually agreed on a boys name but nothing for a girl yet.

CJones11 · 31/08/2022 13:18

@Laurzz I'll probably buy most things second hand this time around. I'm hoping to move in about 8 weeks. We've been renovating for so long I'm feeling deflated by it all! I'm hoping being back in work after the holidays will keep me busy and positive!

We've used that baby name tinder style app to get a list of names we both think are nice but I don't think any go with our sons name!

I have an anterior placenta but felt baby move for 2 weeks now. Definitely more harder kicks and punches now too. I'm now 20 weeks

With my other 3 I didn't feel anything until 24 weeks

bedfordmum2210 · 01/09/2022 16:10

20 week scan all went well. Was lovely to see our little wriggler again.

VixenAndCub · 01/09/2022 19:15

Been reading from the sidelines and it's been lovely to see everyone's scan stories! I had mine today; took three attempts because the baby was a right wiggler, but everything is perfectly fine aside a low lying placenta (which I'm not too worried about) and found out we're having a GIRL!

We're absolutely over the moon. We already have our son (who's been saying 'sister' for weeks!) so we're very lucky to have a daughter to complete the family.

Anyone here super nervous to pop early and give birth in December? 😆
I already have 4 birthdays, my anniversary and of course Christmas/NewYears I don't need another birthday added! The later past my 16/01 due date, the better 😆

We're due the same day ❤️ And I have a girl, too. I am dreading a Christmas birthday. My partner's cousin was due 17th Jan and gave birth on Boxing Day. I said to him if I go early by the same amount of time, that's a Christmas Day baby 😩 I'm sure I won't be wishing for her to be late when January arrives, but right now I hope she stays out as long as possible so there's a bit of a break for her between Christmas and her birthday.

That's such a clear photo 😍

VixenAndCub · 01/09/2022 23:54

@TokenGinger
I always hear as well that secondary pregnancies tend to arrive earlier too. So I've said to my family I'm having a break this year for Christmas to ensure I don't trigger labour by accident 😆
My son was a due-date baby so no idea how this one is going to go. I'll be the same as you, whining when January comes around - if I get that far!! Easy to say now, but I'm hoping to be as late as possible to get as far away from the holidays as possible! My family already made me feel a bit guilty that she's going to be born so close to Christmas as it is...

DanceWithYourBalloon · 02/09/2022 07:58

@TokenGinger My first was a week early and my second was 3 weeks early. If I go as a early as 3 weeks again then I'll have a Christmas baby! 👀

TokenGinger · 02/09/2022 09:28

@VixenAndCub I've had so many negative comments too about her birthday being close to Christmas and how terrible December and January birthdays are. We began trying last October and didn't get a positive test until May, and a part of me had considered holding off during April just in case of a December baby. It seems crazy when I think of it now, but it's easy to see why I felt like that when people like to say how rubbish it is.

@DanceWithYourBalloon Oh my gosh! Three weeks early. I am definitely not prepared for that eventuality haha. Was there anything that prompted an early birth, or was baby just ready and made their own little entrance?
