I too am feeling uncomfortable, achey and just generally fed up really. Finding climbing stairs hard, doing housework etc just things I usually take for granted. The thought of 8/9 more weeks worries me. I've got a massive bump and just feel like I'm struggling.

Remember feeling like this with my 1st and feeling really fed up so trying to keep thinking im so close to the end! Feels like I'm wishing time away x

kiwi17 · 20/05/2022 22:11

@KizboBaggins I agree with the others - my tip is buy dead cheap strappy tops I got mine from matalan and then wore a looser t-shirt over them. Then you can pull the t-shirt up and the vest top down to get a boob out without flashing anyone! Plus as they're cheap doesn't matter if they stretch ๐Ÿ‘ after a few months I also bought some proper nursing tops from h&m etc in the sale which worked well as I bf for 16 months so needed long term investment!

I also feel massive and so breathless this time round- luckily only 3 more days of work then I'm done!

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 21/05/2022 01:34

Hereโ€™s a question for everyone in the middle of the nightโ€ฆ!

presume others get also a pain right in the middle of their legs sometimes (I usually find itโ€™s when I need the loo and then I kind of have to shuffle out of bed as even my strange usual waddle out of bed hurts). But then once Iโ€™ve gone to the loo, it disappears. Itโ€™s not lightning crotch, I had that earlier, this is almost like a duller pain.

anyway - just woken up for the 4th time tonight to go to the loo and OWWWW. Whatever this pain is, it hasnโ€™t gone away with me actually going to the loo; it feels like the baby is literally about to fall out of uterus. Does that make any sense? I actually covered my vagina with a hand as I practically crawled back to bed as I honestly thought โ€œoh shit this is itโ€ (itโ€™s not, Iโ€™m now just lying down again slightly shaking from the pain and feeling sick)

anyone? :(

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 21/05/2022 02:03

Ok I think I can answer my own question after some googlingโ€ฆ!

the baby has dropped apparently. All completely matches with what I felt. Feeling a lot less panicky! But bugger me if this pain is going to stay for potentially the next 6 weeksโ€ฆ.!

AppleTree16 · 21/05/2022 06:31

@HotToddyColdSauvignon hope you managed to get some more sleep. I was going to say it sounds like the baby has dropped!

missv556 · 21/05/2022 08:12

So glad we have this group, it's really nice having women going through similar experiences at the same time so we don't feel so alone with our feelings. I managed to have a little nap yesterday and felt better afterwards. Then I ran myself a bath, which I never ever do because showers are quicker, and snuggled up in bed with some dairy milk and watched gogglebox to cheer myself up. Eventually found enough energy to do a bit of cleaning too

HotToddyColdSauvignon · 21/05/2022 08:34

Got on and off chunks eventually @AppleTree16
too much googling is giving me brain ache though ๐Ÿ˜‚
the possibility that โ€œit could now be only 2-4 weeks away until labour startsโ€ when Iโ€™m only 34 weeks is exciting / scary / wondering how reliable that is / wondering if I was over reacting last night / ? / ? / ?โ€ฆ

So going to ignore it all today and eat three croissants for breakfast instead!

Keep stocking up on the dairy milk @missv556 !

KizboBaggins · 21/05/2022 08:50

@kiwi17 I hope you don't mind me asking but did you work while you continued to BF for 16 months? I really want to bf as long as possible (assuming I can), but will likely be going back to work after 9/10 months and I just can't imagine how I'm going to be able to carry on doing it while working full time...

@HotToddyColdSauvignon wow that sounds traumatic in the middle of the night! Hope you're feeling ok now. It's scary how soon all of this is going to happen isn't it!

@missv556 glad you're feeling better! And you're right, this group is great. I've genuinely learnt so much!

NamelessBaby1 · 21/05/2022 08:51

Ooft that sounds uncomfortable @HotToddyColdSauvignon ! Thankfully I'm still just getting hip pains in the night, but I know the rest will catch up soon!

Sounds a lovely way to spend the evening @missv556 . We watched a movie then indecided 10pm was a good time to start doing some cleaning, haha.

Probably going to have a busy day today, need to go buy more t-shirts and stuff (given up looking for maternity ones and just going for oversized), and mum is coming to help me re-cover a chair I'll use in the nursery!

Yes I went back to work at 11 months and she was at the childminders during the day as I'm a teacher. It was fine though because by that point she was mainly on solids so just had a feed when she woke up in the morning and then one before bed. You'll be able to sort yourself into a routine that works for you by that point especially once they start on solids :)

SamanthaVimes · 21/05/2022 13:58

@KizboBaggins I also continued to bf after going back to work at 11 months so only a bit later than youโ€™re planning.
By 9 months most babies are fine without milk during the day if theyโ€™re away from you and will just make up for it when youโ€™re back together (or you can express for them if theyโ€™ll take a bottle but I never did this)
They can sometimes โ€œreverse cycleโ€ where they have more feeds at night to make up for missing them in the day which can be tough but tbh my DD was such a crap sleeper anyway I wouldnโ€™t have noticed if sheโ€™d done this ๐Ÿ˜…

ChinChilly · 21/05/2022 17:04

Dammit, I tested positive for COVID today! Not gonna lie has worried me abit. Anything I should look out for? I did try talk to my midwife last week but she didn't get back to me ๐Ÿ™„

Confusion101 · 21/05/2022 17:20

@ChinChilly plenty of water and paracetamol, and monitor your baby's movements! If they are reduced contact the hosp. That's what I was told. Hope you aren't feeling too crap

MollyRover · 21/05/2022 17:28

@HotToddyColdSauvignon think this has happened to me in the last 24 hours too, I'm 32+4, how far are you?

My DH got a kick out of Lightning Crotch, said it's more polite than Thunder C*nt Grin

ChinChilly · 21/05/2022 17:39

Thanks @Confusion101 that's what I thought. Thought I'd managed to get away with it. Worst thing is I've got COVID paired with terrible hayfever... send help ๐Ÿคฃ

EmJay19 · 21/05/2022 17:56

Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹ just found this.
Iโ€™m 32+2 and started to swell up!
This will be my second DS.
Finishing work at the end of next week which I canโ€™t wait for to get organised and have some time to chill.

Keep the lists of things to buy / do coming people! Iโ€™ve done it before but feel so unprepared this time!

Ladies I am feeling that exhaustion too ๐Ÿ˜ฉ
Have to have a nap every day now - on Tuesday I napped twice! ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚
Bumps getting super uncomfy- had to ask DH to put my shoes on for me this morning ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Had a lovely wee break away up Inverness way - was much needed. Have a week left on my annual leave then I'm back in at work for 4 more shifts & that's me finished ๐Ÿ˜

Not feeling anywhere prepared for baby - was in Aldi today & they've got their baby event on again so grabbed a few cellular blankets & muslin cloths and some nappies too!

@ChinChilly I hope you don't feel to bad. As others have said keep hydrated and rest up!

@HotToddyColdSauvignon that sounds painful! I have a bit of pain sometimes early morning but I assumed baby was leaning on / squashing my bladder as it usually goes when i go to the toilet.
Hopefully it won't be painful for weeks!

I do get a wierd pressure that feels like i need to pee but I don't always. I assume thats baby being "heavy" now they are head down... Well I assume they are still head down as the feeling only started happening around the time I got told they were head down!

CaptainCarp · 21/05/2022 21:52

I'm also a bit jealous of the dairy milk eating!
I had a high sugars reading earlier because I napped after lunch ๐Ÿ™ˆ

DP better bring me chocolate or cake once this baby is born! ๐Ÿ˜‚

ChinChilly · 21/05/2022 22:38

@CaptainCarp thanks, the badger notes app said to call triage and just let them know so I did and they've asked me to pick up and oxygen monitor, well somebody outside if the household to collect it, so will sort that tomorrow.

I've also been getting that pressure like i need to pee i assumed it was her head pushing on my bladder

Confusion101 · 22/05/2022 00:01

My latest complaint is carpal tunnel! Anyone else?

KizboBaggins · 22/05/2022 07:53

@kiwi17 @SamanthaVimes thank you both - forgot he'll probably be on solids by that point ๐Ÿ˜… Ah I hope he doesn't reverse cycle at 9 months lol that sounds like it would be awful coinciding with going back to work!

There isn't currently anywhere at work for me to pump (apart from the toilets) but I'm sure if I start pumping in the middle of the office they'll soon set a room up for me...

@Confusion101 I had it quite badly earlier on! It seems to have eased up recently thankfully, but basically had no feeling in either of my thumbs and if I moved my hand/arm in the wrong way I had the most god awful shooting nerve pains. I mentioned it to the midwife and she basically said it would go when baby was born lol, as with everything else...

ShellUK09 · 22/05/2022 09:05

I'm with you all on feeling more uncomfortable and tired, it just seems to have hit me this week. With her head down now it does feel there is more pressure coming down. My bump is so big now everything takes more effort and I feel so heavy. I feel like I can just fit in the car behind the steering wheel! On the plus side I haven't had any more of those nasty leg cramps since cutting out bananas so the midwife was right there for me! @Confusion101 no I haven't had carpel tunnel so far, hope it's not too bad for you. The third trimester is tough ๐Ÿ˜ซ
