sunnyd67 · 11/05/2022 15:58

@Artisticpiglet3 @flowergarden16 good luck for your scans tomorrow! 🙏🏻

sunnyd67 · 11/05/2022 16:00

@Elspethelf I am so sorry for your loss, it must be incredibly hard. Welcome to the thread! 💐

SupportNeed · 11/05/2022 16:06

I headed to the hospital at 7:45 this morning, only to be informed they couldn’t do blood tests for GP referrals and so I had to go another hospital.

The bloods are to check if I have immunity to chickenpox, but the nearest appointment I could book online was the 27th.

I supported an individual who had chickenpox Friday 6th, when they would have potentially been at their most infectious, so I’ve been really worried.

sunnyd67 · 11/05/2022 19:35

@SupportNeed Do you remember having chickenpox yourself when you were younger? Obviously it doesn't guarantee 100% immunity, but I thought that's a strong indicator, I might wrong though.

SupportNeed · 11/05/2022 19:42

Yes, I had chickenpox in early childhood.

The blood test’s also to check B12, thyroid, liver function, diabetes and iron levels too.

Annny27 · 11/05/2022 20:01

@SupportNeed hopefully it comes back quick! I had a very mild case as a toddler apparently but I had an immunity test a few years ago which came back positive so hopefully you produced antibodies too 🤞🤞🤞

SupportNeed · 11/05/2022 20:06

Thank you @Annny27 , here’s hoping too 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Is anybody finding their tummy less ‘pregnant’ looking and feeling in the morning? I’m wondering if it’s something I’m eating making mine harder mid morning.

Other than tiredness and sore nipples I’ve felt less pregnant the last few days, I feel quite scared X

flowergarden16 · 11/05/2022 21:12

@SupportNeed yes mine is almost flat first thing and then I look about six months pregnant by the evening!

SupportNeed · 12/05/2022 06:52

I’m thinking that the white bread & eggs I’ve been having for breakfast may have been having an effect, I’ve not had them for a couple of days and my stomach hasn’t been bloated.

Artisticpiglet3 · 12/05/2022 07:26

Oh god two hours to go 😨😨😨

Srx1 · 12/05/2022 07:33

Hi everyone, just wanted to give an update in case it reassures someone- you may remember me being worried several weeks ago when my nausea and breast soreness stopped (they continued to be larger but not sore) - I had my scan on Monday and everything looked good ☺️ Today, I am 14weeks, still feels so surreal but of course my anxiety is already creeping back in 🙄

btw my belly also feels normal in the AM and by the evening it is bigger!

I was wondering how many of you payed for NIPT even if they got low risk?

I hope you’re all ok and good luck to anyone having scans soon 🍀

Srx1 · 12/05/2022 07:44

* paid. Seems I can’t spell today 🙈 I’m still waiting to hear

Also, do midwifes use a doppler in upcoming appointments or only potentially if you ask?

Tulip1112 · 12/05/2022 07:57

@Artisticpiglet3 @flowergarden16 good luck today! Thinking of you both 🌸x x

flowergarden16 · 12/05/2022 08:31

Best of luck @Artisticpiglet3

I feel totally sick and have to wait until 1pm x been up since five :-(

I had the NIPT test last week (low risk results) and did it as I'm going to be 37 soon so wanted reassurance and I'll take it anywhere I can get it! X

speake1 · 12/05/2022 08:43

@Artisticpiglet3 @flowergarden16 good luck with your scans today 🙏🏼🤞🏼

Annny27 · 12/05/2022 08:50

Good luck with scans today 💗💗💗

@Srx1 I have 16 week midwife today so will let you know about doppler!

SupportNeed · 12/05/2022 09:07

Thank you for the update @Srx1 💖

I’m all over the place headspace wise & emotionally X

Arwen7 · 12/05/2022 09:58

Good luck ladies with scans today!! Will be thinking of you 💕

In my trust we start listening in with the Doppler at 16w, no need for ladoes to ask as we know how much they want to hear baby! But I’ve heard some midwives in other hospitals don’t until later which is ridiculous as at 16w you should be able to find it. So if she doesn’t definitely ask for it.

My combined screening came back as low risk and decided that’s good enough for us so not paying for the harmony test.

I am 12+2 today and feeling much better and less pregnant than weeks ago but everything is good so I am just trying to relax and enjoy it. I told my parents yesterday, they were SO excited I almost regretted immediately that I told them already 😂🙄

@SupportNeed in my understanding if you had it as a child you should have immunity but I hope you get the test soon, anything it’s a worry isn’t it xx

scoutcat · 12/05/2022 10:05

Good luck with scans today everyone! I will be thinking of you 🥰

barneymcgroo · 12/05/2022 10:09

Good luck for scans today ladies xxx

At my 16w appointment they didn't automatically listen in - I asked them to. She couldn't find a heartbeat, but said she could hear placenta. (@Arwen7 hoping this is normal...???). I've since felt movements, so there's something there!

Arwen7 · 12/05/2022 10:18

@barneymcgroo amazing you are feeling movements so you can be reassured baby is fine! 💕
But no that’s not normal I would say, imo it shows a lack of skill tbh and leaving you worried. I would have looked for it longer and also if we can’t really find it (you would ask another midwife to try as well) then I would have sent the lady to triage/epu for a scan. That’s what we do in my trust anyway! Xx

Artisticpiglet3 · 12/05/2022 11:58

Everything was fine 🎉🎉🎉 so relieved

Annny27 · 12/05/2022 12:31

Glad everything was fine :D @Artisticpiglet3

Always a relief isn't it haha!

I had my 16 weeks appointment and they listened to the heartbeat 🥰🥰🥰 was super easy to find but probably because I have posterior placenta and because I am quite thin but she did day before it can take a while @Srx1

I am glad we have a midwife on the chat @Arwen7 :D

Tulip1112 · 12/05/2022 12:58

@Artisticpiglet3 yay congrats, what lovely news 🌸🌈💛
