Anyone here on aspirin? I've been taking it at lunch time but just read the NHS guide says best to take in the evening? Does this matter?

flowergarden16 · 04/07/2022 09:13

@Sassy144 I had similar around that time. Was quite a weird feeling. But all fine so far (am 20 weeks now) x

Arwen7 · 04/07/2022 09:20

@Amphibian94 I do and I believe there is some evidence it works better at night so maybe just start doing that from now on x

Skl2021 · 04/07/2022 10:07

@Amphibian94 I take it at night also xx

Skl2021 · 04/07/2022 10:08

@Cruz86 thread is nearly full 🙊😱 xx

Hopingforarainbow27 · 04/07/2022 10:18

I've been struggling yesterday and today ☹️ I just want to know the outcome, dreading my next scan.

arianasky · 04/07/2022 11:19

I take aspirin aswell I've been taking it in the morning so I'm glad I've seen this I'll start taking in the evening from now on

Sassy144 · 04/07/2022 13:02

@flowergarden16 that's good to know, thank you! I spoke to midwife as it's not letting up and she said if it doesn't go away soon it could be a UTI, so I'll speak to GP if I can just to check.

Arwen7 · 04/07/2022 13:16

Just a quick little update. Had my 20w scan and everything was good. Biggest surprise was that it's a girl!! 💕 (we were told it was a boy at 13w and we even had a name lol)

@Arwen7 congratulations another girl for the thread 💜 haha bet that was totally a shock but a lovely one! X

flowergarden16 · 04/07/2022 15:25

Congrats @Arwen7 !

Srx1 · 04/07/2022 16:17

Hehehe congrats @Arwen7 😄 what a surprise!

Sassy144 · 04/07/2022 16:27

@Arwen7 congratulations and wow what a surprise! Back to the drawing board for names!

Annny27 · 04/07/2022 16:28

Oh wow that is a shock haha @Arwen7 ! Was it a blood test or ultrasound that told you before? Everyone else will be worrying now in case there's is wrong haha

Amphibian94 · 04/07/2022 16:31

@AArwen7 congrats! I'm worried this is going to happen to me haha x

Arwen7 · 04/07/2022 16:42

Thanks everyone! I know we were really surprised haha. It was a scan not a blood test (those are much more accurate) and as it was only 13w I knew the possibility of error was there. However it was a fetal medicine consultant who told us back then and he seemed so sure about it! Now I feel I need another scan to confirm as I'm confused but I know the 20w is much more accurate 😂

Hopingforarainbow27 · 04/07/2022 17:21

What's everyone's thoughts on aspirin? My consultation told me not to take it but I've heard so many people take it... I don't know what to do as this is my fourth pregnancy

sunnyd67 · 04/07/2022 17:33

@Arwen7 Congratulations, lovely news ❤️🙂 I was worried about this too, so I had another private scan today, just to check everything plus look at the gender since it was included, definitely a boy and very clear on the screen too. 😃 ❤️
My baby is measuring a week ahead and already 1lb5oz (603g), am I having a big baby? 😄😱 22w4d measuring 23w3d

arianasky · 04/07/2022 18:10

@Arwen7 amazing news! Hope it wasn't too much of a shock 💗

barneymcgroo · 04/07/2022 18:23

@Arwen7 Wow, that's definitely a surprise! Though less of one now than in 20 weeks time, I suppose!

aesgriff · 04/07/2022 19:17

@Arwen7 omg 🤣💓💗💞 congratulations what a surprise!! Xx

Arwen7 · 04/07/2022 20:37

Thanks so much ladies

It was truly a bit of a shock because we had thought of baby as a boy for all this time, chosen a name, etc... luckily only bought a few clothes all colour neutral! It will take a few days to sink in but obviously over the moon, couldn't care less really and it's also our first so no expectations.

@barneymcgroo haha yep! I was the midwife for a couple who came to hospital with a suitcase full of pink clothes and ribbons, a blanket with embroidery saying 'Elena' and they later told me they had painted the nursery pink too. Well guess what it was a boy! They couldn't stop laughing at birth at the silliness of it all. But I've only seen that happening once.

@Hopingforarainbow27 I don't know. There is evidence it can help prevent mc if you have a coagulation issue or if they ask you to take immunosuppressants (like it was my case). But also not all women need it. I guess I would follow Drs advice or get a second opinion from another Dr if you are unsure.

@sunnyd67 glad everything is fine and still a boy haha 😂 I wouldn't worry about size, it's notoriously inaccurate after 12w x

Arwen7 · 04/07/2022 20:38

Also was anyone sore after the 20w scan? At some point the sonographer had to press really hard and it's now been a few hours and it's all sore down there!

sunnyd67 · 04/07/2022 21:13

@Arwen7 yes! I was very sore after my 20 week scan, all over my tummy, it was okay after a couple of days but it did hurt a lot for the first day!

Arwen7 · 05/07/2022 05:59

Thanks @sunnyd67 that puts my mind at rest!
