Just joining the thread.. I assume some of you couldn't add any comments, so I will ask again if I may 😄 What apps are you using to track your pregnancy? 14 weeks and thinking maybe I should get one..

sunnyd67 · 10/05/2022 15:59

Congratulations @Arwen7 🥰🥰

Annny27 · 10/05/2022 16:11

@sunnyd67 I used pregnancy + :) and I really like seeing the size of baby and also the comparison of what it is real size on screen etc

@Sassy144 oh nooo what did you say haha?

@flowergarden16 yep it's always sooo nerve wracking before scans!

Annny27 · 10/05/2022 16:27

Lovely news @Arwen7 💗💙

speake1 · 10/05/2022 17:02

@sunnyd67 i use Ovia pregnancy xxx

aesgriff · 10/05/2022 17:04

@Arwen7 I’m going to say a little girl 💓 xx

@sunnyd67 I’ve been using BabyCentre and really like it although turn off all subscription emails xx

Girls… I’ve just test positive for Covid 😳😫😭 am really worried. Anyone else had covid when pregnant? I’ll give my midwife a ring in the morning but really panicking xx

flowergarden16 · 10/05/2022 17:06

Oh no @aesgriff try not to worry. My friend is 18 weeks and has just had it (on holiday!) everything is fine. They don't think it really impacts baby and your placenta will protect. Particularly if you are vaxxed x

Arwen7 · 10/05/2022 17:35

@aesgriff my friend had it at 10w and she is now about to have her baby. Everything was fine. I’ve also seen plenty of women at work getting it and they/baby have been ok. I’m so sorry you have caught it and the worry that comes with it but it’s usually more worry if you are in your third trimester and unvaccinated, mainly because of the risk of mum becoming unwell. Take Paracetamol if you develop a temperature but hope it’s mild and you feel better soon xxx

speake1 · 10/05/2022 18:02

@aesgriff oh no, I hope you’re feeling ok with it so far? I had it at 10/11 weeks before my dating scan & everything was absolutely fine. Being vaccinated definitely helps. From the research I did / talking to my midwife I think that it only becomes a risk for the baby / placenta if your oxygen sats really dropped but provided you are ok in yourself & have relatively manageable symptoms I’m sure there’s no cause for concern xxx

sunnyd67 · 10/05/2022 18:19

@aesgriff No advice, sorry, but I hope you don't feel too bad, fingers crossed.

Skl2021 · 10/05/2022 18:57

@aesgriff I had it about a month ago so I was around 14 weeks. Felt rough for a few days and slept alot just made sure I didn't have a temperature and drank plenty xx

Skl2021 · 10/05/2022 18:58

@Arwen7 glad your scan went well 🌈 I'm guessing girl ❤️xx

barneymcgroo · 10/05/2022 19:10

@Arwen7 Hooray for lovely scan news! No guesses here - no idea what I'm looking for!

Not really using an app to track - I look at the NHS website every week, just because I find it so amusing. Their choice of 'thing your baby is the same size as': this week, a red pepper. Two weeks ago, a medium bag of salad. Week before that: a small bag of salad. They're obviously trying to put healthy food in your mind (where's the 'doughnut' week...?), but I just find it tickles me for some reason. All quite random...

@Bridgey8 - that's definitely a bump! Looking wonderful! You feeling anything yet? I feel huge, though people still saying I look neat. I'm quite tall though, so plenty of storage space!

Thanks @Cruz86 for the new thread. Hope you're doing well.

aesgriff · 10/05/2022 21:00

Thank you ladies for the reassurance @Skl2021 @sunnyd67 @speake1 @Arwen7 @flowergarden16 going to keep all my fingers crossed for a mild case 🤞🏻🤞🏻 will drink lots and lots xx

scoutcat · 10/05/2022 21:27

Hope you're ok @aesgriff! I have heard some trusts will give expectant mothers a sats monitor to check oxygen levels but when I had covid a few weeks back I didn't even think to tell my midwife. I felt rough but paracetamol sorted me out!

In terms of apps, I like Ovia because I can track my symptoms and see how they've changed and can also log when I've taken my vitamin because I often forget! You can also choose the theme of how big the baby is too. And can see the hand size! It's cute.

SupportNeed · 10/05/2022 22:31

Oh yay 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 So glad to be able to post 💖

SupportNeed · 10/05/2022 22:39

I was exposed to chickenpox at the end of last week, I only found out yesterday.

Called my dr for advice, but their computer system was down yesterday.

The dr called me this morning and advised to book a blood test to check for immunity.

The earliest I could book for was the 27th of May 😩😩😩

I’m hoping there’s a walk in one available at a hospital tomorrow morning 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Elspethelf · 10/05/2022 23:14

Hi! I’m hoping I can join the thread. I gave birth 20/4 last year at full term and completely unexpectedly my daughter had a rare genetic condition that is 100% fatal. I then miscarried in Feb. I’m only 15 dpo and have been testing daily since my first positive 9 dpo, which I know isn’t the best for me but I’m so anxious. My Dr appointment to confirm pregnancy is next Monday at 5 weeks.

I’m an Australian who lives in Texas and I’m also incredibly anxious about the new laws here. I have a 4% chance a subsequent baby will have the same fatal condition and I will not go full term with a terminal child again, but I know the bounty hunter laws they are putting in place here could target those who support me.

I also don’t have my family around me, and my husbands family, who are here, were horrendous when my child died.

Just looking for a safe space and some reassurance as issues come up.

barneymcgroo · 10/05/2022 23:18

Oh goodness @Elspethelf, you've massively been through the wringer. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss - that must have been so hard.

Welcome - it's a very safe space, with lots of reassurance and support.

Will hope and pray for you that this pregnancy has a better outcome. X

Elspethelf · 10/05/2022 23:21

@barneymcgroo and you’ve already made me cry! Thank you x

Artisticpiglet3 · 11/05/2022 12:20

Tomorrow!! Good luck, thinking of you. I'm the same x

Artisticpiglet3 · 11/05/2022 13:33

@flowergarden16 good luck for tomorrow ❤️

babyjellyfish · 11/05/2022 15:45

Hi, can I join?

I had five miscarriages TTC my son who was born in April last year and have just found out I am pregnant again. Having an early scan next week.

SupportNeed · 11/05/2022 15:50

Bloods done to check for chickenpox immunity in addition to B12, liver function, iron levels…
