Pregnant after recurrent miscarriage

Hello

looking for some support from women in the same boat, while I await the first scan!

I’ve had 2 missed miscarriages in the last 18 months 9 weeks and 6 weeks and found out I was pregnant again last week before starting the drugs the clinic had prescribed.

im now 5+3 I’m on hydroxychloroquine, progesterone and prednisone. I’ve had brown spotting but that has eased but have had no pregnancy symptoms apart from bloating! I’m not very tired or nauseous and I’m really worried it’s another empty sac or something.

I have early scan booked on 13th may but it’s so torturous.

anyone in a similar boat?

@Willow11981 @Emily090 how are you both getting on? I had a scan this morning and baby measured ahead of schedule at 8+5. Still doesn't feel real or like I'll have a baby at the end of it. I guess miscarriages do that to you...

@PossiblyPertunia …….. Ahhh yay that’s amazing news! You must be so relieved, definitely another big step in the right direction! Will keep everything crossed for you that all continues to go well!
currently 13 + 2 ……… had my 12 week scan last week and everything was looking as it should at this stage! ……. Also had low risk NIPT results which is a big relief!
it does feel quite strange now that there are no more scans until 20 weeks! I might have to do a private one at 16 if all is still going well just to break up the wait!

@PossiblyPertunia Nice to hear from you, and great news regarding your scan. It’s completely normal to feel this way, after so much heartbreak it stills feels surreal. I had a scan at 9.5 weeks, a week later we had another scan and our baby was measuring at 11.2 weeks - I still felt like I couldn’t celebrate yet, then on Tuesday we had another scan (yes 3 scans in 3 weeks LOL) and we are 13 weeks on Sunday. It’s very exciting but whenever anyone says anything like serious like names or plans I get a bit ‘shhhh, don’t jinx it’
it will be like this for us all I’m sure, but let’s just keep growing these babies and stay positive.

@Willow11981hey! I know, I had my midwife app on Wednesday and was going to ask if I was allowed to have extra scans due to mmc’s but she actually offered me a 16 week one and I think 25 week one due to my daughter being a big baby 😂 I also had high blood pressure at my early midwife app with my daughter so I think they are including this in as a reason, but I would definitely ask for another scan in a few weeks - I’m sure they’d understand?

@Emily090 :…..oh that’s great you are getting extra scans! Maybe i will ask about that too at my next app! If not I think I’ll just book a private one at around 16 weeks!
it just seems so long doesn’t it to not know what’s going on in there! ……. Although I guess if my belly starts growing then I should know that something is happening!!! 😂
