I know this is very early but I wanted to start a thread for those with a January 2023 due date.

I got my BFP 2 days ago and am about 4 weeks pregnant today. I already have a little boy born in November 2020 and I’m super excited for him to get a sibling but I know it’s early days and have had 2 early miscarriages in the past so slightly nervous too!

@Swale you're the lady that started this group so Thankyou. I've read that you're going on holiday? Looks like round about the same time as me? I go to Egypt 2 weeks this Saturday. How far along are you now & how are you feeling symptom wise?

aquarius36 · 05/05/2022 21:29

@plantflowersforbees that's good to hear that you are going to have supportive groups around you.
Just try not to think about being separated until nearer the time, as you want to enjoy the pregnancy together with the time you have. I don't know how good you are with trying to block things out😣
I think I'll be due around about 7th-9th January, but it will be earlier as I know I'll be having a C-section.

Swale · 05/05/2022 21:58

@aquarius36 That’s okay! It’s nice to have a group with people to talk to where we are all due at a similar time.❤️ Yes I’m going on a family holiday 2 weeks on Saturday for 7 days and I’m dreading getting morning sickness whilst I’m around family as I had it bad last time. We’ve decided to tell our parents and siblings this weekend because I’ll find it hard to lie about not drinking / feeling unwell whilst on holiday! I’ll only be just under 6 weeks but last time we had to tell family over a Zoom call when I was 12 weeks due to lockdown so I’m looking forward to telling them in person! I think I’m around 5+3 now and have had no symptoms so far.

@Swale we're practically the same then as I think i'm around 5+2 & don't really have symptoms either. You've got my sympathy on the sickness while abroad. That's exactly what I'm dredding as was sick the whole way through last time😩
Hopefully the sun will make it more bearable for us😎 That's going to be so special being able to tell them in person this time🥰 How many chil have you got? I'm really worried because of my age this time🙈

plantflowersforbees · 06/05/2022 07:57

@aquarius36 Congratulations! I'm due around the 6th Jan, this is my first and I haven't had my first dr's appt yet (trying to get one booked today) so that might change. Have you told anyone in your life yet?

PossiblyPertunia · 06/05/2022 07:59

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

It's so interesting seeing when people tell family and friends.
With our little boy we told all our family and close friends almost straight away as it was Christmas and we're big drinkers so it would have been very obvious.

We're going to keep this pregnancy on the down low until 12-20 weeks (family & friends). All the losses have changed this, for me it was worse telling people that we'd lost it. Because then I felt like I had to absorb their disappointment as well.

MightyMouse101 · 06/05/2022 12:15

I think I'll have to tell my step dad next month as we're in holiday with him and he'll notice straight away that I'm not drinking. The only problem is he is totally incapable of keeping a secret so everybody will know by the time we get back, which is a bit of a shame and means I'm inclined to try not to tell him.

Moosh18 · 06/05/2022 12:18

We are going to have a scan on 20.05, if everything is okay then we will tell parents, i doll be 8 weeks then hopefully 🙏🏻

mrsgtobe97 · 06/05/2022 14:24

My hormones must be in overdrive today because I am so emotional and ragey 😅😅 4w4d today and took an easy at home with my morning pee and it was faint, had a breakdown thinking the worst, then took one this afternoon on an afternoon hold which is near enough a dye stealer now it's dried, these tests are going to be the end of me!

mrsgtobe97 · 06/05/2022 14:26

Top is FMU, bottom is afternoon test on 1.5 hour hold 😂

@mrsgtobe97 bless you! This is why I'm not testing any more, makes me so anxious!

@mrsgtobe97 bless you! This is why I'm not testing any more, makes me so anxious!

My afternoon one was such a relief, I couldn't understand for the life of me why my morning one was so faint! Just unnecessary stress

Sassy144 · 06/05/2022 14:38

@mrsgtobe97 I wouldn't say it's faint but the control line looks a little lighter in that one too so probably just a difference in the tests/dye!

Becca65 · 06/05/2022 14:56

@mrsgtobe97 my fmu ones have been lighter too - think I drink too much before bed & in the night.
mine are best after my chaotic late shifts when I don’t get time to drink anything for a few hours!

Yeah maybe, gave me such a scare 😂

It throws you off cause you always think that first morning should be strongest, ugh hate this paranoia 🤣

HannahSpanna · 06/05/2022 15:13

Hi all👋

I got a positive last week and should be due 4th Jan!! This is my first so very happy to have found this thread!!
Booked an early scan for 17th May!! So far no sickness 🤞🏻

PossiblyPertunia · 06/05/2022 15:46

@mrsgtobe97 oh it's so odd how that happens! I might take a test when I get home now to compare... although I was good and didn't take any this morning.
Can you get proper dye stealers on the Easy@Home tests?

Yeah it completely threw me off 😅 I don't think I've ever seen one tbh i think the test line just goes meeeeega dark. Never seen pics of ones with no control line!

hopingfor23 · 06/05/2022 16:30

@mrsgtobe97 I also did the same brand yesterday afternoon after not being satisfied with my fmu and I too got a much better result. In fact I'd go as far to say it was a dye stealer I was gonna smacked!!!! Have resisted testing today and hoping I see the benefits tomorrow morning. I am allowing myself every other day after that I think...!

Somatronic · 06/05/2022 17:46

Why is everyone still testing? Sorry I don't get it.

LouiseD2018 · 06/05/2022 18:04

@Somatronic I think really just slight anxiety, well it is for me anyway. I had 2 ectopics and first sign was lines not progressing for one of those pregnancies, I stayed patient and hopeful only to find myself rushed into hospital weeks later.
so I need reassurance, in an ideal world it would be blood tests, but they are not on offer yet so I want see lines getting darker to show me HCG is rising as it should.

It's not fool proof different tests show different things which in itself can cause panic!

Somatronic · 06/05/2022 18:10

@LouiseD2018 well this is it! I'm not sure how reassuring it actually is! And the last few pages are proof of that! I was toying with the idea of doing one of the tests that shows how many weeks you are but again, they're not reliable so I probably won't.
I'm sorry to hear about your ectopics xx

PossiblyPertunia · 06/05/2022 20:27

@Somatronic maybe not reassuring always, but I'd also like to know as early as possible if things aren't going the right way. It's a privileged place to be to take one test and then just have a successful pregnancy.

I'll stop taking tests once/if I get a 3+ on digital.
Until then I'll continue torturing myself.

Somatronic · 06/05/2022 20:58

I heard sometimes people never get the 3+ that's why I am slow to take one.
