Oh wow both of your scan pictures look great 🥺 im so jealous I haven't got my booking in appt until the 1st June and I'm dying to get an early scan due to my previous miscarriages and my anxiety is sky high

Amphibian94 · 09/05/2022 18:52

@elliejay9 did they not offer you early scans due to your miscarriages? That's why I'm having then every 2 weeks from 6 weeks x

elliejay9 · 09/05/2022 18:54

@Amphibian94 no not yet my GP told me I could call and ask the EPU at the women's but I don't really know what I'm asking for and wasn't sure wether I should wait for my Booking in appointment

Phoenixwings1989 · 09/05/2022 19:17

I found out I am pregnant with my 2nd child last Tuesday. I am around 5-6 weeks according to the NHS pregnancy calculator. It came as a bit of a shock as I wasn't expecting it to happen but so happy it did. We'd talked about having another but were undecided so I guess the decision was made for us. My due date is the 5th of January but will most likely be the 29th of December as planning on a c-section due to medical trauma.

Not many symptoms really apart from nausea that comes and goes, fatigue, sore boobs which I didn't have the first time and a constant headache which I've had since before I found out I was pregnant. Only thing I wish was different is my weight. I was a lot lighter the first time round but have still got baby weight from DD and I know I will get a lecture about that from every health professional I come across in the following weeks.

lovesT · 09/05/2022 19:32

@Noodle87 that's great news 😊😊 hopefully you can relax a bit now!

@stuntbubbles that made me laugh 😂🔥 a few times I've thought about some fajitas we had when I was a teenager at a pub my mum went to and they were sooo good. My mum has the owner of the pub on Facebook who made them so I've told her she needs to get the recipe 😂 it was years ago!!

Anyone else feeling better at around 10 weeks? I've seen some others saying some symptoms aren't as strong. I'm not worried really but it's actually been quite nice today to have some energy to be with my daughter etc and have felt happier 😊 still occasional bits of feeling a bit 🤢 and many good aversions 🙄 sore boobs but just generally feel much better today, could be a one off so we'll see 😅. I'm 10+1 today which feels good, we have the scan just before we go for a little family camping trip so I'm looking forward to that 😊

Nejnej2 · 09/05/2022 20:14

I'm the same @lovesT - 10 weeks today, and seem to have found a cooking mojo again! Nausea still coming and going a little but definitely feeling more human.

lovesT · 09/05/2022 20:25

@Nejnej2 that's good! I really can't remember when I started to feel better with my daughter. I made a curry for dinner (with one of those packets that make it easy 😬) and it was actually very nice so it was great to enjoy something to eat!

DogsAndGin · 09/05/2022 20:34

@LC84 oh lucky you! I still haven’t had a letter to book in my booking appt and I’m 7+1 now 😩 feeling like they’ve forgotten about me!

DogsAndGin · 09/05/2022 20:34

That was a typo - I’m 8+1 now!

LC84 · 09/05/2022 20:38

@DogsAndGin Oh no! Can you ring them to chase it up?? Im glad they gave me plenty of notice as have been able to book the whole day off work - my boss has such a big mouth so leaving it as long as poss before I have to tell them 🤣🙈

Tofu35 · 09/05/2022 21:12

No cooking mojo for me @Nejnej2 but I was a lot hungrier than I've been in a few weeks at dinner tonight. Nice big plate of chicken stew and then a magnum for pudding. Absolutely shattered now, think I'm in hibernation mode after the big dinner! 😴

Nejnej2 · 09/05/2022 21:13

@Tofu35 Oooo a magnum, think I need to pick me up a pack tomorrow!

Moosic · 10/05/2022 07:20

9+5 here! Had a scan yesterday, sonographer thought it was my 12 week scan and asked for all my paperwork (haven't even seen midwife yet) 😆🙈 midwife app next week tho, so hopefully 12 week scan can be booked after that, which will mean the end of the month 😬

Anyone else struggling to be excited about their little one in case things go wrong? I'm hoping I can relax a little after 12 weeks and the news is public, but I thought I would be feeling better after my scan yesterday, but I still feel super anxious. Baby did a little wiggle on the screen for us though, so I keep trying to play that back in my mind 😍

PandaOrLion · 10/05/2022 07:21

Finally catching up with the thread - sorry to those who are struggling a lot with it.

Im 8+3 and currently on holiday for a long weekend with DH. We’ve walked a lot over the last few days and definitely quite achey which is nice (although uncomfortable!) as I hadn’t felt much for a few days.

LC84 · 10/05/2022 08:32

@Moosic Definitely in the anxiety club today! Woke up with less symptoms and obvs panicked 😩🙈 doesnt matter how many rational things I tell myself, I still feel worried about this first trimester and if I could afford a scan every week I would 🤣🤣

MrsCrumbtious · 10/05/2022 09:20

@Moosic another one in the anxiety club! 8+1 today and not feeling nauseous today so naturally I’m panicking (big mistake Googling too 🤦🏼‍♀️) we had an early scan 2 days ago and baby was measuring perfectly with a heartbeat but still can’t relax lol.

@LC84 same! Wish there was a little porthole that we could open and check in on them!

hope the next few weeks go quickly and smoothly for all of us!

PinkFizz1 · 10/05/2022 10:07

Good to know I’m not the only one in the anxiety club! I’m 9+5 and have been the same since 4 weeks, despite 2 scans!

don’t really have much symptoms, boobs aren’t as sore and not as tired. Trying so hard to hold out to my 12wk scan but it’s not til 1st June and I just don’t think I can!

BuchananBaby · 10/05/2022 10:40

So the nightmare is over the passport has been approved 😭 I could actually cry! We fly on Tuesday so should hopefully have it on Friday 🤞the poor baby has taken a backseat to try and deal with this mess now I can get excited 😁🥳

lifechanginglemoncake · 10/05/2022 10:57

Hi everyone. I'm 9+3 today with second baby (I have a little one who will be 3 next month). Been tired and nauseous but it seems to be easing now which I'm trying not to worry about. Midwife yesterday and should get a scan date soon. Really looking forward to that as we haven't done any early scans so just trusting and hoping all is well for now. Hope everyone else is hanging in there!

Mememe17 · 10/05/2022 11:23

Hello everyone,

Sorry to hear a few of you are very anxious. It's such a hard time. Evolution needs to step up its game with some fool-proof way of knowing what's going on!

Welcome to new people.

I'm 9 weeks today - have booked a reassurance can next Wednesday when I will be 10+3 as my 12 week scan won't be until im 13 weeks, and I had a MMC at about 8 weeks last time so hoping that all goes well at that.

I'm finding it quite difficult to keep up with this thread as I hve to use a VPN to access mumsnet as I'm not in the uk. Is there a Facebook group for this thread? If so I'd love to join

Chanel05 · 10/05/2022 13:35

@MrsCrumbtious I'm 7 weeks today and haven't felt nauseous the last two days. Also panicking even though I had a scan on Sunday too!

mmp22 · 10/05/2022 15:13

Hi, congratulations to all with their BFP, wishing you all the luck that your babies stay safe!
I got a BFP in April which lead to a chemical pregnancy 5 days later (would have been due mid Dec). I ovulated 14 days after and am currently 13DPO and have had 3 days of super faint positives. I am feeling super tired and have a really bad headache today but am too scared to get excited or feel real about this until i see a stronger line. When did you all start to see a strong line? Last month my lines stayed faint and so i am feeling more scared than anything. This will be our first baby, we only started TTC in March so i know i am super lucky compared to many who struggle but have just been feeling really down since going through the chemical.

Tofu35 · 10/05/2022 17:40

Yay @BuchananBaby glad your passport nightmare is over! Are you flying from Glasgow? I'll wave to your plane 😂

Is anyone else getting quite out of breath when they're doing anything mildly strenuous? The lift was out in our building, so had 5 flights of stairs to climb. Usually by the top I'm ready for a sit down, but today I was getting puffed after one flight!

Sdoubleyou · 10/05/2022 19:01

I really needed to hear about the anxieties today. Not happy that others have them, but it definitely makes me feel less alone. I'm up and down with symptoms as well and I'm torn between gratitude and anxiety. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow so I know it's normal. Will feel better (hopefully) at my next scan on the 16th.

@Tofu35, I am definitely feeling winded as well. I'm usually quite athletic (high-impact activities) and now even my at-rest breathing sounds like an old man! I'm currently in a train with a mask on going to a work conference where I will have to wear a mask all day and it's going to be really tough.

Tofu35 · 10/05/2022 20:38

Oh @Sdoubleyou I hope your work conference goes well and isn't too tough on you. I always feel more anxious when I know I have a full social day at work and I need to be "normal" in front of people.
