So I know this is super super early, but I wanted to start a thread going for us ladies with December due dates. I had a mc during my first pregnancy in January so I'm nervous about everything, but also excited! I'm 4 weeks pregnant Sunday and my test lines have been fairly strong 🙏 I have a sensitive sense of smell and my nipples are sore (but I'm embracing every symptom I get!)

Sorry @LolaJ87 my comment was about you telling your sister Smile

LolaJ87 · 08/04/2022 11:47

@MiaSparkle

I've read up so many things about taking baths while pregnant. Some say bubble baths are fine but others say they aren't. What does everyone think ?
I love a bath and really wanted one to soothe the mild cramps I had but from what I read online they either have to be under 39 degrees (not exactly nice unless it's hot out) or you can only stay in for 10 minutes, which for me feels like a waste of hot water Sad
LolaJ87 · 08/04/2022 11:48

@PinkFizz1 Thank you! I actually can't wait to tell her. She loves babies and is just going to burst with happiness I think

MiaSparkle · 08/04/2022 11:51

@LolaJ87 I've seen that aswell and I feel the same. I don't want to go off what the internet says incase it is allowed, I'm not sure what to do. I have been allocated to a midwife yet so I can't ask her. I'd love to ask my mom but she doesn't know about me being pregnant yet. Anyone else who hasn't told people , finding it hard to keep it from them?😂I tell my mom everything so this is very hard

LolaJ87 · 08/04/2022 11:54

@MiaSparkle I'll ask my mam, she's a midwife.... I don't know why I didn't think to do that myself!

LolaJ87 · 08/04/2022 12:01

@MiaSparkle she said warm but not hot (i.e. we shouldn't have to ease ourselves in to adjust to the heat and it shouldn't turn your skin pink). If you feel uncomfortably warm in the water, it's too warm. Even though it's coming from a professional (and my mam) I'm still not sure I trust my judgement of "how hot is too hot"... maybe in a few weeks I'll be feeling braver.

BuchananBaby · 08/04/2022 12:11

@embob993 thank you I'm looking forward to it kinda glad I'll have a sober buddy 😂

@LolaJ87 I'm the same as you my family know everything the only person I won't be telling is my gran because the last time we told her after an 8 week scan with instructions to keep it to herself and she'd told the whole town 🙈 I was quite surprised because she had several mc's herself but she's a sweetie wife 🙈😂

@MiaSparkle I had loads of baths with my daughter and never had any issues so you should be okay

That's great. Thank you ❤️ my body is so weird when it comes to showers, It can be the hottest temperature and still feel not warm enough 🤣 with Bath it's different, I don't mind having a hot bath but I have to let it sit to a warm temperature first

littlecontis · 08/04/2022 12:25

I had a bath last night and it was barely warm and I decided I don't think I'll be having a bath anytime soon 😂

Re telling people, I've only told one person who is very similar to me so understands what I'm going through mentally. I'll start to tell the closest when I've had my 12 week scan!

Meowcat89 · 08/04/2022 12:45

Just had a fair bit of pink blood but no cm this time. I really hope it's nothing 😟 starting to feel nauseas but dunno if it's more because I'm now worried than a new symptom. Will do a test in the morning to see if it's any less vivid. Fingers crossed it's ok.

TheFantastic7 · 08/04/2022 14:05

@Meowcat89 fingers tightly crossed all is okay. I've gone a bit manic here constantly going to the toilet just to wipe and checkSad I pray every single one of us are still here in December telling each other our labour symptoms!!

Mommabear20 · 08/04/2022 14:08

Booked my first appointment this morning for the 26th 😁

MiaSparkle · 08/04/2022 14:11

Anyone else got a bloated belly/bump? I know there's a difference between the two but I just don't know which one 🤣

LolaJ87 · 08/04/2022 14:16

@BuchananBaby I'm sure your granny will delighted when you do tell her! Something to look forward to too.

@Meowcat89 that sounds really stressful. Are you 6 weeks yet? Would it be worth a trip to the EPU to put your mind at ease?

FlowerJ · 08/04/2022 14:35

@RoseGold24 I work in a hospital setting too so wondering when's best to tell them. I told them early on with DS because my sickness was so bad I ended up being signed off for 3 week. Hoping its not going to be like that this time.

My anxiety has been so bad today. Feel like I've done nothing but sit and stare at my phone. It literally cripples me and I can't concentrate on anything.

Hope all ladies having scans go well today.

We've still only told my best friend. With this being our last baby it's kind of nice to keep it to yourself for a little while. I'm a bit nervous about telling people tbh!

RoseGold24 · 08/04/2022 14:43

@FlowerJ I'm the same with anxiety... last night was pretty bad. I wanted to go for a walk cause I'm determined to keep my steps up during pregnancy but I just got really down in the dumps and lay on the sofa all night staring at my phone (OH away which might have made it worse although I think I would have just upset him too). I think I will force myself to do some mindfulness and go for a walk in the sun this evening.

Yeah really not sure when to tell my boss. We're about to be short staffed and I don't want to be as stressed as I suspect that will make me so they need to be aware that I might find it even harder.

BuchananBaby · 08/04/2022 14:49

@Meowcat89 I have everything crossed it's a 1 off and everything is okay 🤞 can you phone your epu and get some advice?

@MiaSparkle aww the bloat! The last 2 days I feel huge! As soon as I eat something I blow up like a baloon 🙈

Aww @FlowerJ look after yourself ❤️ I've done a fair amount of knicker watching myself today I've had period cramps for a wee bit so I'm freaking myself out! But we made it to 6 weeks 🥳❤️

Had a really weird interaction today at soft play my daughter is 13 months but she's a bum shuffler and she's not interested in standing/walking she's just doing her thing and someone asked if she was a prem baby 🤨 eh no she's just figured out how to get about without moving off her bum I'd love to do that 🙈😂😂

I feel like mine is just constant🤣which is why I'm confused is it just a small bump or bloating aha

PinkFizz1 · 08/04/2022 15:32

I’m having some mild period like cramps this afternoon which aren’t helping with my anxiety Sad

I just have this constant feeling like I’m about to come on my period, I wonder if that’s normal? That feeling the day that you’re due on, like a heavy low feeling in your belly & you’re expecting blood anytime

Meowcat89 · 08/04/2022 15:33

Thanks @TheFantastic7 @BuchananBaby @LolaJ87

This is my first ever pregnancy so I'm not sure if they'd see me? I've had no cramps so I'll take that as a good sign but seeing blood was a little bit disturbing 😬

LolaJ87 · 08/04/2022 15:39

@PinkFizz1 I have cramps like that on and off and have for the last 2 weeks. It's completely normal apparently!

@Meowcat89 ring them and ask, it's 100% worth checking if it helps you feel any better.

looloo123456 · 08/04/2022 15:48

@BuchananBaby I can't because I'm under 18.

BuchananBaby · 08/04/2022 15:58

@PinkFizz1 I've been the same today hoping it will pass 🤞

@Meowcat89 they'll definitely be able to give you some advice and depending who you get they may even scan you so it's worth a try ❤️

@looloo123456 apologies it's different in the UK you can see a doctor on your own under 18

lovesT · 08/04/2022 16:02

@PinkFizz1 I had period like cramps with my daughter for quite a few weeks, this time I've had them for about a week but they have calmed down now. I would feel like I was about to come on but they would go away. I remember asking the midwife with my first and she said it was normal, just everything stretching. Hope that helps x

Laughingmole · 08/04/2022 16:12

@PinkFizz1 I have exactly the same cramps, like I’m about to come on and then it just never happens!
