So I know this is super super early, but I wanted to start a thread going for us ladies with December due dates. I had a mc during my first pregnancy in January so I'm nervous about everything, but also excited! I'm 4 weeks pregnant Sunday and my test lines have been fairly strong 🙏 I have a sensitive sense of smell and my nipples are sore (but I'm embracing every symptom I get!)

Nausea sounds like a really good sign @5manc 🤗

LolaJ87 · 08/04/2022 09:32

@5manc I've had cramping on and off, not in my thighs but lower tummy and lower back. Everything is going well so far.

I have a BLINDING headache today, been awake with it on and off since 3am. I've had lots of headaches over the last few weeks (I'm prone to them anyway) but this one is awful. Struggling without painkillers, especially trying to work.

I saw the GP yesterday (standard procedure in Ireland) and everything seems ok at the moment. I've decided to go for NIPT since it seems worth checking so that'll be in 4 weeks. Is anyone else having it done?

Lots of things lined up now, first scan is in 2 weeks, NIPT is 13 days later (they do another scan at that) and then my first antenatal appointment is 18 days after that (when I'm 12+2). Exciting to have all these appointments booked, especially as I'll get lots of sneak peeks, feels very real now.

BuchananBaby · 08/04/2022 09:41

Exactly @RoseGold24 ❤️

@5manc totally normal it's just our bodies playing with us 🙈

@LolaJ87 that's amazing you've got all your appointments set up so you've got stuff to look forward to 🥰 I had looked at the NIPT but privately here it's like £400 and we're getting married next year and now need to save up for another mat leave but I'll definitely be getting the combined test at 12 weeks and go from there

MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee · 08/04/2022 09:42

I'm in my local EPU waiting for a scan, I'm only 5w5d but due to my medication they want to make sure that its viable (so far).
I'm so nervous there's going to be nothing there

LolaJ87 · 08/04/2022 09:54

@BuchananBaby yeah its €430 here, we just got married in January and I'm actually dipping into the honeymoon spending money for it (I won't be drinking or going to the water parks now so we have that little bit to play with!). How exciting you're getting married next year! Going to be a busy while for you Smile

@MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. Please let us know how you get on. Hopefully all is well and it'll be wonderful to catch a glimpse this early...

PinkFizz1 · 08/04/2022 10:07

@MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee good luck please let us know how you get on 🤞🏼

5manc · 08/04/2022 10:13

@MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee ahh good luck! ❤️

BuchananBaby · 08/04/2022 10:21

@LolaJ87 congratulations on your wedding ❤️ yeah definitely will be busy it means I need to try on wedding dresses this month 🙈 we're getting married in Sept 2023 and they say you should look a year before but all going well I'll be 7 months pregnant 🙈😂 it'll be a mad diet too before the wedding 😂😂

@MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee and @December22NewMomma good luck to you both today ❤️

Meowcat89 · 08/04/2022 10:38

@FlowerJ thanks for responding 🙂 I'm 6 weeks today so thought it would be too late for implantation bleeding but hopefully it's just making itself more comfortable! I had some more yesterday which was slightly more brown tinged. Hopefully that'll be the end of it but will keep checking.

Nutella99 · 08/04/2022 10:48

I've got cramps again today and it's freaking me out a bit because it feels so much like period cramps.

I'm also getting married next year! Well supposed to be. We told everyone the date and paid the deposit then 2 DAYS later I found out I was pregnant, and we'll have a 5 month old baby by the wedding. I have absolutely no idea if that's feasible or not?! Given it's so far in advance we might be able to move the wedding...but we wouldn't be able to tell family and friends that we're
changing the date until after we've announced the pregnancy. We will probably tell parents and siblings before 12 weeks but no one else. So if anyone mentions the wedding we're having to play it down because I don't want anyone making plans for it yet 🙃

PinkFizz1 · 08/04/2022 10:58

Has anyone told anyone yet?

I know everyone has their own preference when to tell. We’ve told our parents, a couple of close friends & I’ve had to tell my boss due to Risk Assessment policy.
We’ve got a private scan booked for 7w2d and I think we’ll tell our siblings then. Then everyone else after 12 weeks. It’s just so hard as I feel I’m walking around with the biggest secret in the world & I just want to tell people!

embob993 · 08/04/2022 11:02

Hey ladies, just catching up with messages! I've been feeling rotten with the rona but much brighter today.

Does anybody find their symptoms fluctuate? I panicked a bit last night as boobs didn't feel sore anymore and hadn't felt any nausea yesterday. I still feel headachy most mornings but that could be covid too. I started googling at midnight and driving myself bonkers.

They're sore again this morning so I feel relieved. Rona has stolen my sense of smell which was my first symptom 🤣

I haven't had cramping for a while although I did wake up with some aching around my belly button a couple of nights ago.

I can't wait to get to the second trimester and start enjoying the journey rather than obsessing over signs from my body that I'm still pregnant!

@Nutella99 it'll be easy enough to change at this point and everyone will understand 🥰

@PinkFizz1 we're telling our big group of friends tomorrow because we're going to bongos bingo and there's absolutely no way they wouldn't guess I'm all about the alcohol on a night out 🙈😂 also my pregnant friend wasn't coming because she'd be the only sober one so I text her earlier and she's coming out because we're in it together. I know if something went wrong though they would support me ❤️ also when I mc in Jan I spoke openly about it because I think it can become a taboo subject and I don't want it to be like that

MiaSparkle · 08/04/2022 11:19

Absolutely the worst sick feeling this morning up till now 🤢 thought I was going to be sick this morning , had my head over the toilet for at least 5 minutes🥲 horrible feeling. Don't feel much better now but definitely a duvet day for me!! Anyone else ?

Omg bongo bingo is definitely up there with the best night's out I've ever had! I can't imagine doing it sooner but there'll be that much going on that you might feel drunk in the moment anyway 🤣 have an amazing time!!

I went out last weekend 'day drinking ' and did so well getting lemonade in a gin glass to start with but I eventually told everybody because I looked dodgy scuttling up to the bar between everybody's rounds and got bought one I had to discretely throw away 🙈 and you're right to have a support network around you. I also found it nice telling some of my friends because it makes it sink in how exciting it all is when for us we can get stuck in worry sometimes/think of the negatives

Me and my partner haven't told anyone yet. I live with family, still haven't told them 🤣 my mom knows I used to get bad periods so she's thinking it's them. I've booked in for my reassurance scan for 2 weeks tomoz 🥳 that's when we will tell family members with scan pictures and personalised baby grows for each person 🤩

I told my sister, because she's a baby doctor, and I like having someone to bounce my anxieties off and she's the most sensible matter of fact person which helps. Thinking of maybe telling parents and siblings as 8 weeks ish

RoseGold24 · 08/04/2022 11:35

@PinkFizz1 what is your job that you need a risk assessment for? I work in a hospital so feel like I should tell my boss sooner than later but Monday would only be 5 weeks so feels premature??

LolaJ87 · 08/04/2022 11:35

We've told our immediate families and some close friends, as well as my boss (because I am not working at my best level at the moment, and I wanted him to know why).

My younger sister has special needs and doesn't know yet, I can't wait to tell her she's going to be an aunt.

MiaSparkle · 08/04/2022 11:42

I've read up so many things about taking baths while pregnant. Some say bubble baths are fine but others say they aren't. What does everyone think ?

PinkFizz1 · 08/04/2022 11:45

@RoseGold24 I work in the medical industry but we have labs on site with hazardous chemicals etc so I think it’s to make sure I don’t get sent there for any reason!

LolaJ87 · 08/04/2022 11:45

Just on telling people... we are all going to have our own takes on it and will decide what's best for ourselves but for me it's important I have a good support network of people in the know, probably even more so if things were to go wrong.

I felt the same about work, like yes I could struggle through feeling sick and try and hide it for another 6 weeks (which would be a struggle) but if things go wrong, I'll need time off and it wouldn't feel right to pass it off as a stomach bug or something.

I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve in general and am very open with my nearest and dearest, but of course a lot of people might feel more private and/or have different family dynamics/friendship groups.

It's interesting that the one thing we all have in common is hoping that these little sparks hang in there and become our December babies.

PinkFizz1 · 08/04/2022 11:45

@LolaJ87 aw that is so special 🥰

Amphibian94 · 08/04/2022 11:46

@MochaHoldTheMilkAndCoffee fx for you! I hope it is all fine xx

I have my 6 wk scan booked Monday coming... so nervous! We've never seen a heartbeat before, I really hope this is it for us.

We've told 2 close friends because we was away together when we found out. I think I'll tell others after my 6 wk scan, if it goes well...

Day off today thankfully but I will defo tell work next week as I have a very manual job and will need a risk assessment and some lighter duties! X
