So I know this is super super early, but I wanted to start a thread going for us ladies with December due dates. I had a mc during my first pregnancy in January so I'm nervous about everything, but also excited! I'm 4 weeks pregnant Sunday and my test lines have been fairly strong 🙏 I have a sensitive sense of smell and my nipples are sore (but I'm embracing every symptom I get!)

I'm going to phone the midwife today but I'm pretty sure the last time I didn't get my booking appointment until 10 weeks but I'm not sure if that was because of Covid they were also a nightmare booking my scan I eventually phoned the hospital and done it myself 😂

@Mommabear20 and @DogTired22 that must be a nightmare!

@looloo123456 I hope you're okay lovely ❤️

5manc · 07/04/2022 08:43

@looloo123456 hope you're ok ❤️

I'm in Manchester and have got my booking appointment booked in for 28 April 😊🤞 xx

December22NewMomma · 07/04/2022 09:00

So I’ve possible done something stupid and done another test this morning. All up until then (including yesterday) have been positive. This morning I couldn’t see a line on one of the strip tests. I’ve done another (crazy I know) and can see a faint line…please tell me I’m not the only one and does this definitely mean it’s a chemical? I’m supposed to be 4+5

Saza185 · 07/04/2022 09:07

Hi ladies, I got my BFP last night and think I'm about 4-5 weeks. I'm so excited, we've been trying for a few years on and off so I wasn't really expecting a positive, but we used the ferti-lily conception cup this cycle and it seems to have done the trick! 😍

5manc · 07/04/2022 09:10

@December22NewMomma can you call the Drs or EPU and ask for blood tests? Or just wait it out? I know that's hard! I hope this doesn't happen of course but you will soon find out if you start bleeding. Fingers crossed everything is fine for you xxx

Amphibian94 · 07/04/2022 09:15

@December22NewMomma at 4+5 you're still quite early, and if you're doing tests one after the other I imagine your urine is not that concentrated? I'd stop testing at least for 2 days then use fmu again, if you're worried though go to your epu x

PinkFizz1 · 07/04/2022 09:16

@December22NewMomma fingers crossed everything is okay for you. I’m all new to this so apologies if I’m way off but I’ve heard of the hook effect, could it be that?

I am so unbelievably torn whether to test anymore because of this reason. Really hope everything is okay x

Amphibian94 · 07/04/2022 09:16

I've had period cramps on and off for 2 days and they are making me so nervous! Hope it's normal...

No sign of a booking appointment but I have had my 12 week scan appointment through so I imagine they will just do it all then?? X

December22NewMomma · 07/04/2022 09:21

@5manc the drs previously told me they won’t do anything unless something is wrong. I feel the same as previous days - bloated/tired/headache etc so not sure if they’ll do anything. I might give it a go.

@Amphibian94 my first test today was the first of the day and didn’t show anything which is odd.
I was testing to try and stay sane but it’s had the opposite effect!

@PinkFizz1 I’m hoping it was either a dud test or it was that. My BBT is still high and nothing has changed so fingers crossed

Meowcat89 · 07/04/2022 09:22

@FlowerJ

I'm in Yorkshire 😀

@Mommabear20 So glad he seems to be OK, maybe he is slowly coming round to the idea!

I'm Yorkshire too! 😊

Been a bit weird. Had some pink tinged cm yesterday when I came back from a walk... Then a couple of hours later in bed I had some intense cramping that only lasted a few seconds but this morning no more pink. I took another test and it was one hell of a dye stealer but will keep a close eye on it 🫤 I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow.

BuchananBaby · 07/04/2022 10:08

@December22NewMomma what tests is it your using? If it's the one step ones on amazing they're rubbish! I got faint lines until I was 5 weeks. I'll have everything crossed for you 🤞

Congratulations @Saza185 ❤️

@Amphibian94 totally normal to have cramps I think it's just our bodies keeping us on edge! 😩

I just phoned and registered with the midwife and she said I'd get a call back at 8/9 weeks to arrange my booking appointment which will be about 11 weeks. They're also behind on scans so they aren't being done until 13/14 weeks 🙄 I'm on holiday the whole of my 12th week anyway so it kinda works out

littlecontis · 07/04/2022 10:32

Welcome @Saza185 !!

Good luck @December22NewMomma , hugs that everything will be okay. Keep us updated xx

@Mommabear20 lol! Do you need to dodge her for your appointment then?

The hospital called yesterday (as I had requested the first scan to be done by a certain date cos I'm flying when I'm about 11 weeks), she said I'll get a letter for my appointment. Wish they'd email me instead so I don't stalk my postie everyday...

December22NewMomma · 07/04/2022 10:42

@BuchananBaby they are the easy @ home ones from Amazon. I’ve got some clear blue ones on the way, I’m keeping everything crossed that it’s purely a rubbish test kit and that it will still all be fine.

@littlecontis thank you! Trying to not get too worked up and be positive!

Update for all - no bleed and feel no different so I’m keeping everything crossed for a positive outcome! Thanks for the support

bbno2 · 07/04/2022 11:06

@December22NewMomma - hope you are OK, I can imagine you are worried and I wish I had something useful and comforting to say.

@looloo123456 - keep us updated and let us know how it's going. Hope your mum is looking after you as it must be scary.

I actually need to register with my GP still - we recently moved and I am not really supposed to be going back to our old one. Plus on holiday abroad in a few days, so tbh I can't see me even reporting pregnancy to GP/midwife for another week or so. We are quite rural so I don't think the midwife gets heavily booked up (or at least she didn't 5 years ago!).. but hopefully it means the scan date sits "correctly" in the window. It has to be done in a certain time frame for them to to the nuchal translucency test (if indeed you chose to have that done).

littlecontis · 07/04/2022 11:27

@December22NewMomma keep having positive thoughts! I bought 60 HCG test strips off ebay just to have some level of reassurance.

I was just about to book an early scan but I'd have to pay for a non-refundable deposit...I think I will just book when I am 7 weeks for a last minute appointment.

Mommabear20 · 07/04/2022 11:40

@littlecontis haha 😂 no, we've never done the whole 'secret till after the scan' thing, and I plan to tell people in the next few weeks but I want to be able to tell people myself rather than having her blab! Everyone that's important should know before the actual appointment 🤞🤞

December22NewMomma · 07/04/2022 12:01

@bbno2 I am trying to stay positive, thanks for your support.

@littlecontis I booked through a provider that refunds your deposit if you cancel due to not being pregnant any more. I specifically asked before booking. I can find the provider name if that’s helpful as they had clinics up and down the country?

littlecontis · 07/04/2022 12:22

Thank you @December22NewMomma

Is the clinic called first scan by any chance?

December22NewMomma · 07/04/2022 12:24

@littlecontis it’s ultrasound direct limited. I submitted a question and they emailed me to say if you need to cancel for any other reason you lose the deposit but if you’re no longer pregnant then it’s refundable

BuchananBaby · 07/04/2022 13:31

@December22NewMomma hopefully it's just a bad test it's way more commont to get a false negative 🤞

I went to tesco and got a meal deal and I have blown up! Currently sitting on the couch with my jeans unbuttoned 😂 think I'll be needing bigger jeans shortly 🙈

December22NewMomma · 07/04/2022 13:53

@BuchananBaby here’s hoping.

Spoken to the dr after light spotting. She is arranging an early scan with the EPU. Hopefully I’ll have that tomorrow and no either way, either that or a bleed will confirm whether it’s a viable pregnancy or miscarriage

Meowcat89 · 07/04/2022 15:03

@December22NewMomma fingers crossed! Hope all goes well x

hopefulsunshine11 · 07/04/2022 15:08

@BuchananBaby I'm fife. Yeah I'm going to call on Monday I'll be 6 weeks. Trying to remain relaxed this time! X

December22NewMomma · 07/04/2022 15:17

Quick update - dr arranged an early scan but I don’t think it will go ahead as I’ve definitely had a bleed. I’m disappointed/heartbroken but we all know it’s possible.

Thanks for the support and help on the chat but I’m officially out of the running for December. Hoping next time will be our time.
Wishing you all the best with your pregnancies and hope they end very differently to mine 💕

littlecontis · 07/04/2022 15:17

@December22NewMomma thank you and best of luck with the scan tomorrow xx
