So I know this is super super early, but I wanted to start a thread going for us ladies with December due dates. I had a mc during my first pregnancy in January so I'm nervous about everything, but also excited! I'm 4 weeks pregnant Sunday and my test lines have been fairly strong 🙏 I have a sensitive sense of smell and my nipples are sore (but I'm embracing every symptom I get!)
@littlecontis that's shocking the price some places charge, have a look to see if there's an independent scan clinic. We went to 1 with DD and paid £70 and it was a change. Then found an independent clinic who do it for £50

@LolaJ87 I'll take it 😋 you're needing holiday clothes and sheins cheap so win win 🙈😂

We done a 3D scan with my first bit I don't think we'll do it this time kinda felt I was invading her privacy 🙈
I found one that is £50 but is farther away. Let me speak to DH tonight 😉

Laughingmole · 04/04/2022 17:57

I think I’m going to book an early scan. It’s my first baby and I’m worried. Seems like such a long wait until first midwife appointment at 8 weeks and that will be a phone call. I won’t see an actual person until my 12 week scan! I can’t wait another 7 weeks to be reassured all is ok. Early scans are £59 here.

pinkblush29 · 04/04/2022 18:08

@Laughingmole it definitely is such a long wait. I'm so worried about miscarrying again after two so I really think it would help to book a scan, I'm also just worried about booking the scan because I don't want to assume I'll even get to that point. :(

December22NewMomma · 04/04/2022 18:13

@Laughingmole I’m in exactly the same boat. I’m worrying and it’s my first time so I’m worried I don’t know what to expect

hopefulsunshine11 · 04/04/2022 18:17

I'm the same with early scans, I had one last time and that's how I discovered I had a MMC. I had the scan when I was meant to be 7 weeks. By the time I had tests and scans with the NHS to see what was going on, I miscarried naturally without intervention at 10 weeks so if I hadn't gone for the early scan I could have got my hopes up longer but also it puts me off going for one this time as even after a scan before 12 weeks although the percentage decreases it's still not certainty. It's such an anxious and long wait there's really no right way but I had a bad experience with the private scan so it has put me off. The place just felt cold and if you get bad news you just have to leave, at least if your in the hospital your surrounded by nurses after the scan to offer advice and support.

TripleMMM · 04/04/2022 18:32

Hey all,

Slight nervous as I write this but I found out a week ago that I am pregnant! Due 10th Dec, I used the Pregnancy + app. Last period was 5th March so it’s suggesting I’m 4 weeks pregnant as of 2nd April!

I have so many questions but also trying not to get excited as miscarriage is a lot more common than we think about. I generally don’t worry but I do want to manage my expectations.

Is that weird?!

Also congratulations to all the rainbow baby mums to be and mums to be! Reading this has filled me with so much hope ❤️

Would love any advice! The first being, can I eat medium pink burgers? I am craving them 😭 lol xx

Mommabear20 · 04/04/2022 18:38

@TripleMMM congratulations! Your dates are exactly the same as mine! Any pink in burgers isn't recommended as it's an increased risk of bacteria, steak is generally okay though if that's a good alternative?

TripleMMM · 04/04/2022 18:43

@Mommabear20 thank you so much!
Congratulations to you too, exciting and overwhelming at the same time. How has your partner taken it? Is this your first?

I’ve also just signed for a new job but I have a 3 month notice, so waiting on confirmation that they will honour the discretionary mat pay! So much going on.

Oh medium well it is …🤮 sigh.

I also have a long haul flight planned for when I’m 10 weeks, so far no nausea, but wondering whether I can even go. It’s a delayed honeymoon! X

TripleMMM · 04/04/2022 18:48

Really sorry to hear this, I’ve been considering an early scan at 6 weeks too.
I hope you have a much better experience this time round ❤️

Question - what is MMC? X

5manc · 04/04/2022 18:48

So many messages to catch up on today! Congratulations on the new bfps ❤️

Can't decide whether to book an early scan myself as I had to cancel my last one. Maybe I'll book a last minute one if I can't hold out!

Is anyone taking pregnacare, pregnacare plus or anything similar? If so, what do you recommend?! 😊 xx

DogTired22 · 04/04/2022 18:51

Hi @TripleMMM congratulations on your pregnancy! Wishing you all the best for a happy and healthy 9 months.

I'm also worried about this... always fearing the worst 😔

Laughingmole · 04/04/2022 18:54

I’m taking Pregnacare. It seems to have all the vitamins we need so hopefully it will keep my little bean nicely fed 🙂

I've ordered pregnacare plus over the weekend but have been taking the boots conception pills for 2 months now. Will continue to take the boots one until my pregna care arrives! 3 for 2 at boots right time (they are always on offer)
DogTired22 · 04/04/2022 19:00

@littlecontis I feel the same 😔 don't want to wait to 12 weeks and discover I've had a MMC but equally would rather know than have to go through surgery at a later date. Pregnancy is wonderful but also full of anxiety.

BuchananBaby · 04/04/2022 19:03

@littlecontis hope the chat goes well 😉

Congratulations @TripleMMM 🥳 you'll be absolutely fine to fly they may recommend flight socks but not sure if that's just for the last trimester. A MMC is a missed miscarriage.

@5manc I'm just taking the pregnancy pills you get from the GP 😊

I'm loving all of these delayed honeymoons in the next few weeks you must all be buzzing to finally get to go 😁

I have got pregnacare plus which I started. Before that was just taking folic acid and vitamin d.
TripleMMM · 04/04/2022 19:08

Thank you @BuchananBaby, definitely putting my mind at rest! Congratulations to you too 🥳

@DogTired22 thank you, wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months too! Xx

lovesT · 04/04/2022 19:16

Hello 👋😊 I found out last week that I'm pregnant with our second 🥰 been trying for 6 months, our daughter is 2 😊. I've taken 4 tests altogether including a clear blue digital which Saks 2-3 weeks last week, also my rest have got way darker and I think that's the darkest they're going to get now! I'm about 5 weeks pregnant and the NHS calculator is showing a due date of 4th December.

I feel like I've read too much online and I'm nervous about it all even though I had no problems with my first. I really want this baby more than anything of course ❤️. Waiting for scans is so hard!

I was on a Mumsnet forum last time and the support was so helpful ❤️

lol2015 · 04/04/2022 19:44

Hey everyone
I think I'm out, I've just done another test and it's super light again, have to hold it in the right way to see it.
I've got an frer to do tomorrow morning but suspect that will be the same.

Maybe next time for us

Good luck everyone xxx

Mommabear20 · 04/04/2022 19:48

@TripleMMM thanks 😊 my DH is less than happy about baby bean 😣 he wants to terminate so we're not currently speaking, and no it's our 3rd 🤣

Greenwhale · 04/04/2022 19:56

Can I tentatively join, BFP on a digital today to make me believe it's real! Estimated due date around the 15th Dec

lovesT · 04/04/2022 20:00

Can I ask a tmi question? Has anyone had more discharge than usual? I'm sure I remember this with my daughter but I've had a bit more than normal then was just in the kitchen and actually felt it (sorry) so went to the bathroom and it wasn't that much, just quite wet I guess?? Made me panic lol ..

I've had cramps since before I got my BFP which again is the same as when I conceived my daughter, they're easing off now but sore boobs seem to be getting more sore lol

DogTired22 · 04/04/2022 20:06

@lol2015 I am so sorry to hear your pregnancy isn't progressing. I know how this feels. Keep going you will get there. Sending lots of love x
