So I know this is super super early, but I wanted to start a thread going for us ladies with December due dates. I had a mc during my first pregnancy in January so I'm nervous about everything, but also excited! I'm 4 weeks pregnant Sunday and my test lines have been fairly strong 🙏 I have a sensitive sense of smell and my nipples are sore (but I'm embracing every symptom I get!)

I'm constantly anxious that things won't progress, but the odds of us losing our pregnancies are getting lower by the day. So I'm planning and hoping for the best! Manifesting good outcomes for all of us.

My belated honeymoon will fall when I'm 10 weeks pregnant, and I'm already thinking about what to wear in the sun! At the moment between my sore boobs and the bloating, I'm living in sports bras and baggy, stretchy clothes. Obviously 10 weeks is far too early to buy special maternity clothes, but what should I do in the meantime? Buy things a size up? I don't want to look like a total frump either, it'll be our first time away together in over 3 years!

DogTired22 · 04/04/2022 14:31

Thank you for replying! I've booked for an early scan this weekend at 6 weeks 2 days, providing nothing happens before then as I feel a little a bit twingy, like I'm about to have a period.

I finally had a call from the recurrent miscarriage clinic this afternoon who I've been waiting to hear from but they can't see me until April 20th.

I'm trying to hard to stay positive and do all the things the miscarriage association recommend with pregnancy after loss, talking to people, keeping a journal, going for walks etc.

BuchananBaby · 04/04/2022 14:35

@pinkblush29 I'm 5 weeks 5 days and I've just booked a scan for 8 weeks 2 days which is on the 23rd April 🥰

Congratulations @Winnie2022 and @bbno2 🥳

I've joke woke up from my nap and I feel like death 😐 banging headache etc so that's fun 🙈😂

pinkblush29 · 04/04/2022 14:40

@BuchananBaby @DogTired22

Are your scans private that you have paid for? I've been putting off doing this but I think it might just give me that little reassurance needed at this stage.

lol2015 · 04/04/2022 14:42

Guys I made the mistake of doing another test and it's super super light 😩😩

DogTired22 · 04/04/2022 14:50

@lol2015 have you kept your GP up to date with what's happening? Or call your local EPU for advice. Sending you lots of love

BuchananBaby · 04/04/2022 14:52

@pinkblush29 I've booked a private scan. I managed to get 1 for £50 but someplaces are more expensive so happy to pay that 😊

@lol2015 it could be for a number of reasons, how far along are you? Did you manage to get the midwife?

LolaJ87 · 04/04/2022 14:54

@lol2015 I think you should go get checked if you can. A faint test doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong but the corresponding stress won't be doing you any good. Hopefully everything is still ok.

That's a really good way to approach it!

For your honeymoon, is it somewhere hot? What about lots of loose summery dresses? You can always layer them up with cardigans and leggings etc? We're hopefully going on our belated honeymoon when I'm 17 weeks, and that's what I was planning!

lol2015 · 04/04/2022 15:07

Going off dates I'm around 5 weeks.
My doctors won't give me an appointment until I'm 8 weeks and our Epu doesn't do self referral:(

lottie222 · 04/04/2022 15:09

@lol2015 try not to worry. My tests were very faint. Everything seems to be going
Ok and the nurse just called to say my hormone levels have risen well over 48 hrs. I'm booked in for a scan on Friday when they think they'll be able to see the sac. Don't worry about the tests. Just try and see the EPU.

@DogTired22 I'm sorry you can't see you EPU until forwards the end of the month that seems like such a long wait. Is there another EPU nearby you could try? X

BuchananBaby · 04/04/2022 15:13

@LolaJ87 depending on how bloated you feel you may get away with your normal clothes I don't think I started showing with my first until about 15 weeks and it just looked like I'd had too much dinner no bump until about 20 weeks.

We're going on holiday when I'm 12 weeks and I'm just going to get floaty dresses in my normal size and high waisted bikini bottoms in a size up

Which test have you been using? I used the strip yesterday and it's much lighter than my frer too!
BuchananBaby · 04/04/2022 15:14

@lottie222 that's fantastic news ❤️

Sorry @BuchananBaby I missed how many weeks you are at now, I'd also want a scan but I'm only 4 weeks and 2 days! I have self referred but they did say it'd take about 10 working days for them to get in touch with an appointment

Sorry double posting and I've just seen you are 5 weeks 5 days!! @BuchananBaby

LolaJ87 · 04/04/2022 15:22

@Nejnej @BuchananBaby

Yeah it's going to be hot, we are off to Tenerife! I just tried on some of my shorts at lunchtime and feeling the waistband when I sat down made me heave! The way I've been feeling is almost like sea-sickness so I think I'll have to ditch the shorts and get some more floaty dresses, good advice ladies. I wonder will a Shein order arrive in time.... I bet they have lovely stretchy things!

@lottie222 that is wonderful news! Congratulations.

lol2015 · 04/04/2022 15:35

I got my strongest line on a wondflo test. I've just done a frer but super super light on it

hollyanna87 · 04/04/2022 15:42

@LolaJ87 yep it's our first! But yes, we were the same, figured at 34 (me) and 35 (him) it might not be so straightforward. The most pleasant of surprises!

BuchananBaby · 04/04/2022 15:43

@LolaJ87 you inspired me to get my finger out and I've just done a shein haul and it's between the 16th and 18th of April but I've always found they come much quicker so get ordering 😋

@littlecontis I'm sure there are some places that do scans from 6 weeks+ but it's a but of a hit or a miss if they can detect a heartbeat at that time. Me and dp were chatting about it and it's only like 2 and a half weeks away which isn't that long at all

Thank you! I found one but they charge £80...pretty sure DH would be against it and would prefer to wait until NHS contacts us! I am so tempted tho

LolaJ87 · 04/04/2022 16:03

@hollyanna87 we're the same age! Congrats on your lovely luck.

@BuchananBaby you're at a bad influence but I'll be your Shein order buddy ahaha.

I'm having a private scan at 8 weeks, it's going to be €100 here but worth every penny to me!

BuchananBaby · 04/04/2022 16:20

@littlecontis that's shocking the price some places charge, have a look to see if there's an independent scan clinic. We went to 1 with DD and paid £70 and it was a change. Then found an independent clinic who do it for £50

@LolaJ87 I'll take it 😋 you're needing holiday clothes and sheins cheap so win win 🙈😂

We done a 3D scan with my first bit I don't think we'll do it this time kinda felt I was invading her privacy 🙈

DogTired22 · 04/04/2022 16:21

@pinkblush29 my scan is private, an early reassurance scan for £89. Luckily it's one that you don't have to pay a deposit for so if anything happens before the scan you just cancel and don't lose a deposit.

I've had done horrible period like achy pains this afternoon, not feeling so optimistic 😞

DogTired22 · 04/04/2022 16:24

@lottie222 I'm not there is anywhere else locally. Will have a look tonight. If I end up in more pain I might end up going to nearest which is Nottingham
