@Franklydear if we do start a bus in the parenting section later you are 100% joining as you are a parent! It just might be weird if it ends up that we are all eventually in this section of MN chatting and keeping new threads going but none of us pregnant or chatting about pregnancy, you know? 😅

Minster2012 · 17/03/2022 13:46

@InkyPaper 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰yayyyyyyy

DKDK123 · 17/03/2022 13:49

Welcome, glad to see you over here now and that all went well with the scan @InkyPaper 🥳

@2020mission, I'm up in Scotland too, maybe we'll meet up one day if I'm ever in Glasgow 😊

The lack of sleep has now caught up with DS and he's whingey and irritable but he's refusing a nap, times like this would usually call for wine. 🙄 On the plus side tho finally got a dress for Saturday, talk about taking it to the very last min! I'm not in love with it but it's better than turning up in my PJs and its a maxi so it covers my knickers at least for those that saw the last one I tried on IG 😂

larrythelizard · 17/03/2022 14:27

Agree @whatwonder - I think it's useful in a population level but for individuals is not that good!

Hope DS is feeling a bit better and you've managed to put a film on for him or something and had a nap @DKDK123

Have a wonderful holiday @blackcurrantqueen I hope this weather stays around for you! I love Devon!

@Lexber @Minster2012 friends of mine in other parts of the country have had house calls from HV pre-baby but I never did, I think it's completely area dependent!

Ooh pastel violet toned sounds amazing @Minster2012

Lovely to see you over here @InkyPaper!

I've just ordered about 10 different dresses to try on for the two weddings I have in April @DKDK123 - not too bumpy just yet but a bit fat and boobs too big to fit in anything I already own (although actually there's one more dress I need to try). Must be good and only keep one!

@Lexber DH keeps saying we should play ours music! But classical. Which none of us listen to, so that's ridiculous. 🤣 He plays guitar though so I'm not against that, just not bloody classical. Whole bed to yourself sounds amazing!
@2020mission @Minster2012 we could just move the board location of the bus then? For the next one maybe? Over to parenting? I'm hoping my weight magically drops off too but I suspect I'll be disappointed! 🤣
@InkyPaper welcome! I'm glad you've joined us. 😁 Honestly can't believe how late the clinic were running though. We're you wetting yourself? 🙈
@DKDK123 omg. 🤣 I saw the dress photo on Instagram. The short one. DH did all me to explain maternity clothes and I was trying to say the front would be higher. But my bump isn't really big enough for him to grasp that. Yours however..... 🙈 I'm glad you've found something! Obviously stressing about people seeing your knickers is something you don't need.

Oh I forgot to say! DH felt the baby move for the first time yesterday! 😱 He's tried a few times but usually it stops the minute he puts his hand there. Or the movement is smaller and you can't feel it from the outside. But last night I got in bed (barely felt any strong movements yesterday or the day before until then) and suddenly there was thumping around. He felt and luckily it carried on a few times strongly (with less strong ones in between) so he was able to feel it! Which was good. But then it carried on whilst I was trying to go to sleep and I decided the baby was a thug and needed to pipe down. 🤣

Justanothercyster · 17/03/2022 15:06

@Minster2012 ah I see, makes sense!

@paintfairy awww that's so lovely!

@InkyPaper so happy for you💕

@Franklydear definitely test again I reckon

Lexber · 17/03/2022 15:59

@Minster2012 I can't wait to take that picture of OH walking down the hospital corridor carrying his babies home in their car seats, one on each side! I never took a pic with the girls, but every time I see those pics posted anywhere it melts my heart 💖💙 I can't see you being wheeled to the entrance with baby an issue?

@Vil10 we had same with one of the twins, she was in an awkward position and I had to go for a walk and drank a can of coke to try and get her moving 🤣 thankfully we managed to get everything after I laid in numerous weird positions.. in fact at one point the sonographer was wiggling my belly 🤣 but bonus for an extra scan! It's always nice to see them again

That sucks @Franklydear 😞 xxx

@Minster2012 We started watching OBEM last night as this is OH first (and second) baby so all new tohim and he loved it, said he learnt so much! Me on the other hand remembered what childbirth is like (11.5years ago) and have decided I may go epidural 🤣🤣
I've been watching MAFSA but think I'm a couple behind - not been as interested this series so far...

@Justanothercyster depending on where I would def be interested in a meet, and the twins would be a few months old by summer so I would probably feel safe coming on my own 🤣🤣🤣 @larrythelizard I've got the baby weight of twins to shift and my BMI was up before I started 🤦🏽‍♀️ but I think we will all be far too busy being new mums/carrying babies to care!
Nottingham would be better for me, but that's on a selfish point of view

You know who I am @Minster2012 and have even seen me on Fb 🤣 so feel free to add me to a group chat

If I have any spare hangers @Franklydear I will let you know (I've had most items 2nd hand tbh but will def keep you in mind)

Awww @InkyPaper welcome aboard!! It's great to see you here!! So happy for you!!

Yay I've finally caught up - had to pop out between!

Lexber · 17/03/2022 16:26

So, update from me. Saw a consultant last week who by chance happened to run a twin clinic. Twin 2 has slowed in growth very slightly so now is on 3rd centile while her brother is 10th centile and at 24 weeks both were just below 10th. She wanted to see me yesterday and listen to the blood flow through the cord to rile out any issues and is more than happy that it's not that and possibly just a case of her being smaller. She has booked me in Wednesday with her so she can scan me herself to assess properly and there will have been 2 weeks to slow for a growth and see if she is going to continue along the 3rd or if she drops further.
She is looking to induce me at 36 weeks so depending on the next couple of weeks scans we could be looking at me going in for induction 12/4 possibly even 36 weeks so the week earlier!
I'm booked to have steroids on Wednesday when I see her then return Thursday for the 2nd injection 😬 when I will be 33 weeks!

As of now there's 20% chance of spontaneous labour starting at any time... babies hospital bag is now ready to go, mine needs a few last minute bits but also ready to go!
I've changed my maternity leave at work from 37 weeks to 36week today and extended my AL before so I now have 2 weeks left at work and both are now 3 day weeks as I'm struggling to manage full time due to pain in my hips and general exhaustion. 7 working days to go...
I was also told yesterday my bump has dropped 😬

My best friends and mum are throwing me a baby shower Sunday - I've never had one as it wasn't a thing when I had the girls 15 and 12 yrs ago! And this is def last pregnancy!

BellatrixK · 17/03/2022 16:40

Ohhh @Minster2012 that hair sounds lovely! I think I’m having a root touch up on Saturday.

@DKDK123 excellent news on the dress. It’s probably better than bum out… although if it was a boring wedding, at least bum out would be interesting for the other guests!

@paintfairy that’s amazing! I bet he loved it!

Wow, @Lexber that’s soon! It’s good that they are taking such good care of you though. And’s god to have a countdown for work.

Yay @InkyPaper so pleased that things were good for you.

I’m so far behind everyone, but loving listening to what’s (hopefully) to come. I’m officially 5 weeks today! I did have a very, very small pink streak in the delightful progesterone discharge this morning. No spotting or anything since. I immediately panicked and called EPU who were wonderful and reassuring. I’m hoping it might be the progesterone slightly irritating my cervix?

2020mission · 17/03/2022 17:13

@BellatrixK I had a light bleed and spotting in very early pregnant with Matthew. That was from 26 DPO on and off across 6 days, so about 5-6 weeks along. Just want to reassure you that this can happen and everything can be fine. I was prone to spotting in the run up to AF every month so I put it down to irritation from the cervix. It's very possibly that.

InkyPaper · 17/03/2022 17:24

@whatwonder thank you!! After the scan today I definitely felt more reassured that I wasn't going to jinx it by joining 🙈

@2020mission ooh good shout! My due date is 28th October 😄

@Minster2012 I'm so excited right now 😂 I feel like tomorrow the anxiety may creep in again but right now I'm still riding the high

@DKDK123 thank you! ❤️ oof sounds like you had a fun start to the day 🙈 not a good day to not be allowed extra caffeine!

Thanks @larrythelizard 😄 excited to have made it to this board!

@paintfairy I was so annoyed! They said they were running 15-20 minutes late but it was a good 40 minutes until we got seen 🙈 luckily it was an internal scan so I didn't have to have a full bladder! Aww that's so lovely that DH got to feel the baby! Less lovely that baby then kept you up 😂

@Justanothercyster thank you 🥰

Thanks @Lexber!! Oooh I love OBEM - not seen the American version though, I'll have to check it out 😄 keeping everything crossed for you that everything goes smoothly with the babies, it's good that your consultant seems really on it

@BellatrixK I wouldn't worry about a teeny amount of one-off pinkness, I think they only worry if the blood is fresh and there's a lot of it (from what I was told anyway)

The scan today was lovely, we got to see the heartbeat and the baby gave a little wriggle and then refused to do it again 😂 DH got to come in with me which was great as I was worried he wouldn't be allowed. Still doesn't feel entirely real but I feel like we've ticked off another step, which is good.

Minster2012 · 17/03/2022 17:30

@BellatrixK unless it continues then a bit of spotting is very common at this stage, and certainly not helped by shoving pessaries up your foof every day 😂

@Lexber that all sounds pretty scary but I'm heartened by the fact you have made it this far which is a great growing time for twins & definitely if you make it to 36 weeks that's classed as term isn't it? Good time to get a baby shower in, it's not really a thing for my group of friends either so I'm not, it's not even been suggested. Loving the fact your OH loved OBEM!

@paintfairy yep we could just move the bus location. My DH has only felt baby mode once, mainly cos he's impatient and doesn't sit watching my bump or touching it. He just gets bored 😂soon she'll be moving so much it can get annoying 😬

Seems like the health visitor thing is diff across the areas then, I'm def keen to have things sorted for baby by that stage @larrythelizard it's giving me a kick up the backside 🤔. Hopefully some of the dresses are nice! Sale for you @feliznavidad2 im sure the maxi dress will look lovely and def better than flashing your bits in that one you put on Insta 🤦🏼‍♀️

I've just begged borrowed & stole (well, when DH can move them) a lovely set of pine shelves for DS's room so baby can have his small bookshelf so def getting there

kaylsd · 17/03/2022 17:42

@lexber that makes me feel a little bit better then! Oh gosh how real isit now with your little ones possibly coming earlier than planned maybe they may come on their own if your bumps dropped 😘
@minster2012 back on nights from tonight until Monday morning so I’ll be walking zombie post 12 n half hour shifts, let’s hope they are smooth ones ahead of me 😘 looking forward to may when I come off the ward to be non patient facing when I’m teaching colleagues end of life skills ☺️
@inkypaper welcome sweetheart so happy to hear your scan felt well and our arms are always open for new members when you feel comfortable enough to join the bus pass is valid 😘😘☺️ are you a September baby :)?
@paintfairy how lovely for your DH to have felt your little one kick, deffo makes it feel more real I can imagine 🥺🥺🥺
@bellatrixK hopefully it’s just your little one getting snuggly :) I bled on and off throughout first trimester secondary to a haemtoma, the EPAU team are amazing at being just an option to be there if you need the reassurance and support when it comes to spotting / bleeding so don’t hesitate to contact them if you feel needs must it’s what they are for :)

Going it on night shift nurse mode until Monday morning when I finish, so have an amazing weekend ladies and will check in next week ☺️💖

DKDK123 · 17/03/2022 17:47

Nooooo, DS started to get worse as the day went on and his temp went up to 39o so I did another test just to check. Bang goes our weekend away 🙈 So far mine is negative but given he's been clingy and just wanting cuddles for the past 2hours I'm not holding my breath mine will be negative by tomorrow. Have just sent DH a big shopping list to pick up on his way home from work.

Minsters Side Car - Thread 7 - annoying neighbours, second hand bargains and how many sleep suits should we buy again?!
InkyPaper · 17/03/2022 19:22

Thanks @kaylsd ❤️ it's an October baby 🥰 hope your night shifts go ok!

@DKDK123 noooooooooo!! Hope you can avoid it and your DS feels loads better soon ❤️

Kate105 · 17/03/2022 20:15

I'm back on the wine tonight so don't worry lads, I'm alive again! 😂 managed to rally in time for St Ps day... in other creep news, I have outed myself by following @Minster2012 on instagram so find me if you want to see my non catfish self 🧐

Welcome @InkyPaper October babies are the best ❤️❤️❤️ although mine was supposed to be a September baby but shhhhhh

Oooh @2020mission you're a Bonny Scot! I'm off to Glasgow this weekend with PTSD for a lads lads lads super Saturday weekend. Apologies in advance for the rugby score 😂

Aaaaaand happy st Patrick's day! Sorry to all the preggos, I shall have a wee drink for you all 🥳 any excuse

Kate105 · 17/03/2022 20:17

Nooooooooo @DKDK123 bad times!

bez91 · 17/03/2022 20:45

I*@DKDK123* argggh I feel your pain this morning, how do kids do it!? DD is always the same after no sleep, bouncing off the walls whilst me and DH are dead 😴 just seen your update 🤦🏼‍♀️ noooooo! Hopefully he'll shake it off quickly and you and DH will avoid!

@Minster2012 the HV thing is weird, maybe it varies like @becarefuloutthere out there. I'd already been contacted by now when pregnant with DD, she has her preschool review (apparently new in this area) only a month ago so why they didn't kill two birds with one stone I don't know 🤷‍♀️

On the weight, I found my metabolism changed quite a lot after DD @paintfairy so it certainly didn't drop off me 😂 the knickers thing is real @DKDK123. I'm struggling with the top outline of the band of my tights being visible through dresses and it's really not flattering!

Wow @Lexber that's very soon 😬 glad you've managed to move things around for work, anything post 36 weeks sounds pretty good to get to!

@BellatrixK definitely could be progesterone irritating your cervix, I'm sure a couple of ladies here had that whilst using in early pregnancy

@kaylsd good luck for your stint of night shifts, I bet you're counting down the days until you're non patient facing. Is that at 28 weeks? I've stopped visits as of yesterday and office/home based for the next 6 weeks which I'm looking forward to 😊

@InkyPaper yesss yesss wonderful news 🥳

BellatrixK · 17/03/2022 22:14

@DKDK123 oh no! What shit timing. Can you reschedule the weekend away? It send rice at the moment, I know so many people with it.

@kaylsd hope that the night shifts go as well as possible. They must be impossibly hard at the moment.

@Minster2012 excellent news on free furniture! Wasn’t that online? My brother got so much amazing stuff for his girls’ nurseries from Facebook marketplace.

@InkyPaper I’m so so pleased for you. I was really invested in your journey. So cute that there was a wiggle!

Ladies, thank you so much. What a reassurance you all are. In case anyone wants to know, I’ve changed tactic and shoved it in anally instead. I’m sure that’s something you all wanted to know!

Minster2012 · 18/03/2022 07:11

REVELATION TIME...
I didn't get up for a wee last night 😂or have cramp 🎉🥳

@BellatrixK I went up the bum for the majority of mine, much less mess & I found it more comfortable, no shame in that 😂I'm really annoyed I missed out on a free rocking chair yesterday online 🙄

@DKDK123 nooooooooooo so is that the wedding off or is that next week?

The nhs killing 2 birds with one stone 🤔🤔as if @bez91

Lads lads lads lads lads @Kate105! Yayyyy for drinking def have (a lot) for me. I think I've asked to follow you back catfish 🤞🏻
We would usually be watching the rugby but seeing as we had such a piss poor performance last week the men folk aren't even bothered about the fact we are travelling to Manchester over the time

@kaylsd urgh for nights & roll on may when it will finish!

@InkyPaper so how's it feeling now??? Sunk in? And how's DH feeling?? It's so weird when you can't feel anything but know there's a baby in there?!!!

So we have our rearranged lasagna scan tomorrow morning, let's see if she plays ball more & we aren't freaked out! Then into York for a mooch and lunch then we are meeting friends to head to Manchester for a gig. I'm convinced by the time the headline comes on I'll be asleep 😩

feliznavidad2 · 18/03/2022 07:18

Impressed! @Minster2012 👏🏻 👏🏻 🎉

I had about four wees between 10pm-6am... 😫 they're only little pathetic wees too! Not even big ones.
Your day out tomorrow sounds very energetic, that'd be the end of me! Lots of luck for seeing babe a bit better at the ole lasagna scan!

Hope DS is better soon @DKDK123 and that you don't get it x

Minster2012 · 18/03/2022 07:25

With you on the pathetic wees usually @feliznavidad2 😩

Ps @paintfairy I'm hating most ppl on MAFSA atm, just watching it now, though Dion I'm reserving judgement on. He reminds me of my awful ex in some ways (money bragging) but then I think he shows a genuine side too. We'll see hmmmm

bez91 · 18/03/2022 07:49

@Minster2012 @feliznavidad2 also solidarity on the pathetic wees 🙋🏼‍♀️. Mine is as if there's a flow issue so comes out as if someone has turned the stop tap off despite putting all my effort into it 😂

Kate105 · 18/03/2022 08:59

Yay @Minster2012 congrats! You must feel so fresssssh now 🙌🏻 Enjoy the lasagne scan! Yes you found me, I feel cleansed now I’m decatfished 😂

Just feeding PTSD and then we’re away to Scotland. Lads lads lads! However we had a very interesting start to the morning with a MAHOOSIVE shit (PTSD, not me). So big I had to call in OH to help because I couldn’t deal with the literal shitshow on my own 😂 and it was very orange. Think we’ll try a non orange purée today… weaning is interesting so far!

DKDK123 · 18/03/2022 09:21

@paintfairy it's always a special moment when your OH finally feels baby move for the first time, think it helps to make it all more real for them. At least for them it's cute and bonding, for us getting battered from the inside while trying to sleep.....not so cute 😂

@lexber come on little twinnies stay nice and snuggly till at least 36 weeks 🤞 Sending sympathy on the steroid injections they're not fun but at least if they get them in early it gives you a bit of peace of mind that babies lungs will be helped to get stronger if they do need to come out earlier. Can't believe how close you are to meeting your babies it's so exciting 😁

@InkyPaper hate to break it to you but be prepared that from now on appointments will never run on time 😂 It's not unusual in our clinic to be still sitting an hour past your appointment time. But so happy to hear your little jellybean was wriggling away happily and making it all feel real now for you 😊

@kaylsd hope your nightshifts go in quickly, hats off to you I've no idea how you're managing it while pregnant!

@BellatrixK as others have said some light spotting totally normal, tho welcome to the next part of your journey post ttc where you'll worry over every twinge then worry when there's no twinges 🙈

@minster2012 hooray for no nighttime pees 🥳 Yea the wedding is this weekend, after all that trouble finding a dress we now can't even go 🙄 DS is gutted he was so excited as we'd bought him a wee kilt to wear which he's been constantly parading about the house in saying he can't wait to got to the wedding and dance with everyone. I said he could put it on tomorrow and we'll facetime my mum at the wedding reception so he can pretend he's there for 5 mins.

@feliznavidad2 @bez91 on the small wees it's something to do with the pressure on the bladder from baby, you're supposed to rock back and forth on the toilet after finishing a wee to try help it empty properly - can't see I've seen much of a difference from trying that but I did read about it, there is a reason for the pathetic wees 😂

Still negative (touch wood), DSs temp has came down a bit so he's not feeling as rubbish today tho he's now constantly whining about missing his holiday (he's been calling our weekend away a holiday). Couldn't get the money back for the hotel but they did move it, no weekends left without paying a lot extra so have a random Sun/Mon night in August during the summer holidays instead.
