Oh god @DKDK123 if neighbours or SS heard the things he said to me they'd genuinely take him away! Oooo it will be interesting to see how the babies weigh up! Though I think I'll be going in later than you, @whatwonder whilst I'd LOVE a section to be brought forwards (cos I'm so done now) I don't think they will for a large baby as they always want to keep them in as long as possible to ensure organs developed & tbh that way I would hope no complications & therefore less time in hospital before going home? So I'm not sure it's worth it. We'll see what they say next Tuesday.

That's so interesting on the swimming @whatwonder & @paintfairy legs together!! The exercises I've been doing are helping me but I still wince or cry out every time i get up & basically wince every time I put weight on my left leg. Another person just using Moses basket sheets for the pram here too! I was lucky when DS was cooking it was when toys r us went down so I got LOADS of basics from them really cheap, sheets, sleeping bags, socks, waterproof mattress covers that kind of thing so just reusing those

So an early start here, 5.35 for DS. He came into our room & DH wasn't there so I assumed he'd got up to go to work (he said he was going in early) DS said "my bed is too soft & im not sleepy" I couldn't persuade him to go back to his room so I said "ok you can stay here but it's not morning time". Of course then DH emerges from the spare room into ours to get his clothes, turns out he decamped to the spare room after my snoring got too much (he did wake me once at nearly 11 & I said I literally can't breathe so doubt I can do much). So he'd gone to get sleep. So no chance of DS or me sleeping then.

Anyway so. DH left & since then there's been walking dogs, done a load of washing, emptied dishwasher smashing something in process) read books & sent the emails I needed to with a fair bit of CBeebies on in the background.
My parents now arrived at 9.30 to hang wallpaper in DSs room so I'm taking an opportunity to lie down & chill knowing DS is not on a screen but helping them& all is ok in the world 😂

Not put a bra on. Might not all day, today feels like it's gonna be a very long one 😂

Minster2012 · 14/04/2022 10:14

Oh and I'm totally on your pain with the joiner @paintfairy they def should have told you!! Can he do the rest until the drawers arrive?? Like I said things never simple

paintfairy · 14/04/2022 10:23

@Minster2012 @becarefuloutthere yes he's doing the rest but the drawers are like the main bloody bit? Also the plan was to fill the wardrobe over the weekend so that we can empty the back room and start sorting out bedrooms. Which i can't when half of it is missing. Honestly. 🙄
And my DH keeps decamping to the spare room because of my snoring. 🤣 I said now you know how I've felt all these years! And I had to put up with it! Oddly I don't even notice he's gone some nights though. 🤭
@DKDK123 🤣 DS. I do remember kicking off though being younger when I didn't want to stay somewhere. Wasn't really that, was more you wanted to do something else. Hopefully most people realise SS aren't needed. 🤣

2020mission · 14/04/2022 10:27

@becarefuloutthere ouch to that injection for stitches 😅 did you tear or was it a cut they did? I have to admit I was sort of happy to be knocked out for the stitching of my episiotomy 😆 that was the one positive of having to go to theatre! Although I guess the cut itself would be sorer? I pushed him out without gas and air as the midwives gave the whole "stop inhaling the gas and air and focus on pushing... less noise and more pushing"! It's the worst being told not to let out a moan when in pain.

I'm desperate for Matthew to be weighed again too our HV hasn't been since just before his first immunisations so I have no idea what he weighs now. I've tried going on my bathroom scales with him but it's not precise enough but it can show me if he's went up in weight at least! Let us know how you get on at the appointment. I'm glad to have his first 2 lots of immunisations out of the way - that rotavirus made him do some real stinkers 😂 hopefully Ruby won't be as smelly after it

@Minster2012 I find it hard to believe your little girl is quite big seeing your bump compared to the whales some of us were/are 😂 Although given your husbands height I guess it's very likely she's at least long! I hope the next few weeks pass quickly for you can't believe how close it is now.

bez91 · 14/04/2022 10:36

@Minster2012 ahh I just wondered if they would to stop you going into natural labour with a big lass 😆 I did 🍆 very intense 😬 have a chilled morning and let your parents take over! Finally sorted DD having her first night away from us Saturday with my dad, I'm so excited despite the fact I can't get ridiculously drunk and will still probably be in bed for 10 but the thought of a lie in until 7am with DH seems bliss 😆

@becarefuloutthere I had no idea about the different type of inductions, I was supposed to have one with DD and was booked in but she came on her own accord but I'll definitely have to look at the different types so I'm better educated! Glad little Ruby is ok and seemingly piling on the weight 🙌🏼 that's a good sleep stint too!

@DKDK123 they are so dramatic aren't they 😂 DD always usually wants me to dry her hair but not now, I'm not good enough for her because I insist she sit on a chair rather than on the floor so daddy is obviously king right now with his non pregnant body

@paintfairy nice of him to tell you 🙄 it's great isn't it when it's not your house upside down. Can he not bloody chase where they are?

Heartburn is killing me today, I've had it a bit throughout ever now and then but this is torture, must locate some gaviscon!

Minster2012 · 14/04/2022 10:37

@2020mission can you put just him on the scales? Like lying down? It's awful a lot of places aren't open, we are so lucky I've got 3 childrens centres in 20 mins driving of me & they are still doing weigh in clinics albeit very different to how it was when DS was small which was just drop in & playmats out so you could talk etc. i feel like a whale! And yes ppl keep saying about being small but I still don't see it 😂as you imagine the femur length was 97th percentile 😂

@paintfairy oh god that's really annoying then on the drawers. Could you still move stuff at the weekend just putting into piles which will go into drawers? I'm so lucky DH doesn't snore unless drunk he's a very considerate sleeper but I didn't realise as I'm hugged around my preg pillow 🤣

@Lexber here's hoping there's some babies soon!

Minster2012 · 14/04/2022 10:38

@bez91 they might do?! No idea really. I guess only a bit in advance like 38 plus a bit maybe? Which I'd be fine with. OMG a night off you will LOVE it!!

Vil10 · 14/04/2022 12:00

@Lexber loving your updates!! Hopefully there'll be some babies today🤞🏼 you're amazing!!

@paintfairy your tradesmen are starting to annoy me now!!! I'd be frustrated on the whole not telling you he was getting things delivered to you too! I get braxton hicks after an orgasm too, I think it's pretty normal! Also I didn't know about the no breaststroke rule either?? @Minster2012 ive been swimming twice now and want to do it at least once a week and have just been sticking with breaststroke and racing breaststroke, I've felt fine after it like

@whatwonder @paintfairy also I haven't been told about any antenatal classes?? I have my 24 week appointment today though so maybe I ask then!

@Minster2012 so glad the scan went well!! It'll be interesting to see if they're actually accurate on weight once baby is here!! You definitely deserve a bra less rest, make the most of it!!

Never heard of pram sheets, going to Google now! Also I know baby won't be in their cot bed for a while but does anyone have any advice on the best cot bed mattresses?? I know they have to be quite firm, but what kinda price would you say is practical/brands etc?
I have my midwife appointment today and have a huge list of things to bring up with her and ask her about, she's going to love me😂
We managed to book in someone to come and spray our bedroom wardrobes and the windows and front door and garage door on the new house the week after we get back off our holiday (we've just presumed we'll be in the house by then, hoping to be baring in mind this guy will be turning up😂) and I'm so excited to get it done! We've also decided to knock a wall down, so that'll be a messy job but it's not a huge wall so hopefully won't be too bad, OH wants it doing straight away so getting a couple of his tradie friends in as soon as we move in to price it up etc!
Has anyone got any plans for Easter weekend?🐰🐤

Minster2012 · 14/04/2022 13:35

It's only just gone 1.30pm
Give me strength

Minster2012 · 14/04/2022 14:21

You may laugh ladies. This will be you 😂

Lexber · 14/04/2022 15:18

We did it!!
They're here!!

Theo and Elsie made their arrivals this morning at 12.44 and 1.38am both virginally and I am absolutely knackered!!!

We nearly had one born just before midnight and one after but purposely held back the pushing as I'd had an epidural so Altho I was getting extreme pressure it wasn't the full contraction pain so I was able to breath through them long enough to hold back and ensure both were born today.
Theo came out head first and Elsie decided to come out feet first in her sac (which is app very rare) but then decided to bring her placenta out with her courtesy of a placental abruption which thankfully was caught just at delivery. Had she been in there much longer she would have had heart rate deceleration and we would have been rushed for an emergency section or worse, i can't even think about what could have happened!
She was very white and a bit floppy so the peadreatric dr took her to give her oxygen and got her breathing and crying. He brought her to show us she was ok and eyes open then Took her to the neonatal for support and tests thankfully she was brought back to us this morning on the delivery ward about 8 hours later.
Lost quite a bit of blood from that plus decided to throw up whilst being stitched up resulting in me kindly covering my midwife in blood 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️ luckily she was absolutely lovely.
Only left delivery suit about 1pm as I was quite shaky on my feet and the after pains are ridiculous 😬

paintfairy · 14/04/2022 15:20

@Minster2012 We can put the stuff for drawers to one side, yes. But it was more that we didn't fill the bedroom full stop as we needed to move the bed so he could get in. Literally we only put the bed and bedside tables back. All the junk that usually lives under the bed couldn't be put there. And I couldn't be arsed to move the chest of drawers either so they remained in the back room. Which was fine until now when we've got no blinds, my clothes are in another room, and I'm walking to it naked. 🤣
@2020mission you could weigh him like I weigh the dog? 🤣 I stand on the scales and weigh myself. Then I pick the dog up and do it again. And just subtract my weight off what me+dog weighs? Or find some dog scales to lay him on. 🤭
@Vil10 no one tells you anything about anything is my experience. I asked at my last midwife appointment about the nhs ones as no one had said anything. Turns out you have to email an address and book yourself on. And they are only online anyway. I've had the physio one but I've got 2 more end of May/early June.

Midwife appointment today was equally a non event. Did get to hear the heartbeat though! But she asked if I got headaches (said yes) then asked if I took anything. That was it. I mentioned about the braxton hicks and can it be too often? She didn't really answer and just said ring the emergency number if I'm worried. And the same happened last time when I asked the last midwife about headaches. Ring when it happens. Yeah but then what? 🤷‍♀️ Who knows. All seems fine anyway. She did say oh the baby is all on the left and i thought that was the case. Funny isn't it? I've got my next appointment at 29 weeks and I'll get my anti D then as well. Before that though I've got a growth scan at the hospital- end of this month.

paintfairy · 14/04/2022 15:22

@Lexber omg congratulations! 🎉🥳🥳🥳
Sounds, well, kind of not too bad in the grand scheme of things? 🤭 Maybe not the covering the midwife but they must be used to it?
Will you have to stay in?

InkyPaper · 14/04/2022 16:04

Will do a proper catch up later but @Lexber!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!🎉🎉💐💐🎉🎉 I'm so so happy for you and thrilled that your twins are doing OK ❤️❤️ so exciting and I hope you're feeling a little better now! The biggest of hugs of you ❤️

InkyPaper · 14/04/2022 16:05

*for you that should say, not "of you" 🙈

2020mission · 14/04/2022 16:42

@paintfairy that's exactly what I've been doing for weighing 😅 trouble is they aren't precise enough and with weighing someone so little precision is key. I can at least see he's gaining though without knowing exactly... e.g. it could work out that he's 5.25kg from the scales but they can be off by 250g so he could actually be 5kg or 5.5kg.

@Lexber congratulations 🎉 Glad both babies are well and you too. Completely understand you feeling faint after that blood loss I was so dizzy when I was first up from the bed after my transfusions once they finally got the catheter out but it should improve soon. Take it easy and come back on to update us when you've had some rest. Also just well done again with pushing out 2 😂

Kate105 · 14/04/2022 16:56

Yay @Lexber congratulations!!! I’ve been creeping all day just to see your news 😂 will catch up properly later but so glad they’re here and all doing well xxx

feliznavidad2 · 14/04/2022 17:14

Ahh @Lexber amazing news, sorry to hear it was a bit rough for you though, be gentle with yourself lady. You've done it 🙌🏻 welcome beautiful babies! Xx

Vil10 · 14/04/2022 17:14

@Lexber absolutely amazing news!!! And beautiful names❤️❤️ the midwives will definitely be used to be being covered in all sorts! Bet you were worried about little Elsie but so glad she's back with you and you're all okay! Congratulations❤️❤️

@paintfairy my midwife only told me just now because I asked her, she said the same that they're all online on my badger notes app! Your midwife sounds a bit useless, but are any of them not??

Midwife appointment went well, she told me I can take gaviscon and rennies for acid reflux but if that doesn't help then I can ring the GP for a prescription, got to hear the heartbeat, booked me in for an appointment just before my holiday to get a fit to fly letter, booked in my next appointment when she said they'll be measuring the baby from then and will start plotting on the graph, said they estimated babies weight was around 11 ounce at my 20 week scan, said they don't have numbers for them directly to contact but if I have any worries before 26 weeks I can ring the birth centre, after 26 weeks I'd ring triage because they'd be able to monitor baby from then, also told me that we can have 2 birth partners now which I was happy to hear and so was my mum, overall productive but nothing special (apart from hearing the heartbeat of course)

Minster2012 · 14/04/2022 17:39

@Lexber CONGRATULATIONS 🥳 🎉🥰absolutely fab news on the births of Apollo & Augusta ❤️🥰🤪sorry Theo & Elsie & amazing well done for holding on through midnight so they have the same birthday 🎂 I mean it still sounds a little traumatic not gonna lie but you are an absolute warrior lady & I'm very sure the midwife has been covered in worse 😂

Beautiful 😻

@Vil10 that's great news on the birth partners AND for to fly & heartbeat 💓 I mean my midwife appointments don't really say anything either @paintfairy so wouldn't worry

God damn that's annoying about the bedroom then @paintfairy did he say when they were meant to turn up?

@2020mission can you lie him on the scales? We could do that early on for X?

becarefuloutthere · 14/04/2022 18:07

@paintfairy I see, feel for you hun! 😖
@2020mission they cut me. I couldn't believe how much the stitching hurt! Being knocked out for that part was defo a positive for you, can completely tell you you're in the right saying that! 😅 I didn't feel the cut at all, just the pain of the injection, then the stitching.
Ha, your experience is so different to mine. They kept telling me to take it as I kept saying how much it hurt 😂 they were like "suck the gas and air then" 😆 can't believe you were getting a telling off! The cheek of it.

Yeah someone was saying to me to do the bathroom scales but I know she's put on so I'd rather wait and get it accurate. Not looking forward to her jabs one bit and her poos always stink so I can't imagine them being any worse 😳🤣

@bez91 yeah it's worth seeing what's on offer for sure! Aw thank you 😊 hope you got some gaviscon, the advanced stuff saved me!

@Lexber well bloody done! Love the names. Hope you get to have some rest! 💕

Franklydear · 14/04/2022 19:00

@Lexber fantastic news! All is well that ends well, all 3 of you doing well is what we want to hear

BellatrixK · 14/04/2022 19:20

@Lexber eeeeee! How exciting! Congratulations! I can’t believe that they almost had different birthdays. Even though it sounds very difficult, and Elsie wasn’t very well, but it sounds like you are all doing really well now. Hope the pains are under control now: you’ve done amazingly, warrior mama. Beautiful names as well.

@2020mission gosh, I can’t believe they told you off! How ridiculous.

@Minster2012 oh no! 5:35 is so early! Hope you’ve managed to get through. CBeebies is definitely necessary!

@paintfairy wtf are your joiners?! Honestly, can’t believe that they turned up without checking about the drawers and hasn’t even told you they should be coming! Loving that you’re getting snoring revenge! My DH scores so loudly, so I’ll enjoy that! And your midwife seems almost as useless as the joiner!

@bez91 I’m actually excited on your behalf for DD’s first sleepover! Even just to relax! You’ll have to book in another for when you can drink?

@Vil10 aww, it’s lovely hearing about you buying baby stuff, I can’t wait to get to that stage 🤞. Very, very productive with house stuff too! It’s so exciting getting in after waiting.

Nothing much here, other than I’m now 9 weeks. Time actually seems to be passing now after taking seeming to take forever to get through a day!

2020mission · 14/04/2022 19:29

@becarefuloutthere @BellatrixK I've made them sound awful 😅 in reality they were just encouraging me to put everything into pushing when at the end because his heart rate was fluctuating and so they just wanted me to do it myself rather than them have to use an instrument. It did work!

@Minster2012 I maybe could try him laid on the bathroom scales but he's quite long so most of him would be hanging off unless I can find a tray that wouldn't obscure the reading. It's still not precise enough though... I could pop him on the veg scales in the supermarket 😂

Lexber · 14/04/2022 19:58

Theo is about 5lb 7oz
Elsie is about 4lb 5.5oz

Stomach contractions definitely increase with pregnancies so 3rd for me plus twins = orimorph 🤣🤣🤣
