Hmm I think I chose the wrong feel/fill there @larrythelizard

Franklydear · 10/04/2022 10:39

And back to normal, mum is unable to cook, so dad is helping, arguing her recipe of always with a video he watched in YouTube, dh is going to her rescue, I am not allowed to help, doing childcare (ie watching ds in his iPad) excuse the typos, my English has deteriorated already

Kate105 · 10/04/2022 10:48

Yay for the win @Lexber I picked one but no idea what happened to it... definitely nowhere near the top 😂😂😂 I always put the kiss of death on whichever one I back!

Here you go lads... www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi11NOem4n3AhV4QkEAHSteBukQFnoECA4QAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.boots.com%2Fboots-vaginal-moisturising-gel-30g-tube-and-applicator-10120824&usg=AOvVaw2JMlqIvptTY9H0KBBRnIBO it's a tenner but worth every penny! Plus it will last for ages

Jealous of your roast @kaylsd but I do have a chilli slow cooking in the oven... only problem is now I'm starving already 😂

DKDK123 · 10/04/2022 10:56

@larrythelizard sorry to hear you missed the wedding and are still feeling poorly, hope it leaves your system soon and you keep your fluids up.

@Juno231 amazing news on the house, when do you get to move in?

@Minster2012 Oh no, cant belive he did that to you 🙈 I have the fear every time DS is in a toilet cubicle with me, no matter how many times I warn him not to touch the lock he likes to hover around it, I've lept up mid wee more than once but luckily I've always caught the door before he's swung it open full.

@feliznavidad2 take a sick bowl in the car with you for the drive home from your GTT just incase. I felt so ill afterwards, luckily I made it home but was sick all over the floor when I got in didnt even make it to the toilet 🙈

@Kate105 good to know about the vaginally moisturiser just incase, do you get it prescribed from your GP or just at a pharmacy?

Glad to hear you're still hanging on in there @lexber!

@Franklydear what a lovely surprise from DH on the room upgrade, have a fab time 😊

On the paternity front, as DH is self employed technically he could take as much time off as he wants. Realistically tho, for every day he takes off its a day of no wages and given we've been hit with a load of unexpected bills over the past 2 months (garage bills and shit that obviously all come at once 🤦‍♀️) then financially I don't even think he'll be able to take the whole 2 weeks off, we'll just need to see at the time. DS, a baby and recovering from a section this could be a fun time ahead 🙈 If it gets too much I may ask to move in with my mum for a week or two but then feel bad that DH is missing out on bonding time with the baby as she's a 3hr round trip away so it's not like he can just pop in after work. And my mum can't come to mine as she needs to be near the hospital for my Gran (who true to her word, despite being all skin and bones, barely able to move, kidney failure and only one lung working, she is still hanging on in there determined she is getting to see this baby! 💕)

I went into extreme nesting mode yesterday, literally had tears falling down my face from the pain of moving but couldn't stop myself from cleaning despite the rational part of my brain telling me to sit down and rest. I ended up pulling the rocking chair around with me so I could do 5mins of whatever cleaning then had to sit on the chair as I was in so much pain then after a short rest back to it. Pulled out all babys clothes that had already been washed and washed them again just felt proper OCD like about cleanliness that I couldn't control - WTF doesnt my body know energy prices are sky high at the minute, I cant be doing pointless washing! 😂 Hoping the extreme nesting isn't a sign that baby's coming soon!

Minster2012 · 10/04/2022 11:06

@feliznavidad2 urgh I hate the fasting stuff, I honestly get so annoyed plus weak so feel so awful!

@kaylsd your work sounds fantastic & you are clearly so loved there & good at it, the grand National sweep stand sounds fab

@Lexber last night sounds so fun! And the National, plus the bingo the offer week you are on a lucky streak! Honestly I have so much respect for you carrying twins, carrying one is not the most fun experience I can't imagine 2 😆

@larrythelizard my growling is clearly not as effective as yours! Bagel? Jacket potato? Not sure about bland & high calorie but really hope you can manage more & get your energy up

@Franklydear see your DH come up trumps again. hoping you can still enjoy yourself despite the covid still around

@Kate105 will go have a look at that, but can't look on our work Amazon prime account (need to remember that 😂) I need something now to make me moist 💦you aren't painting the aftermath of a baby to be a lovely experience either. Honestly men couldn't do it.

Well DH went off to the rugby yesterday afternoon, we dropped him off at 12. He clearly decided he was going 'out out'. Let's just say I'm not amused today.

feliznavidad2 · 10/04/2022 11:08

Going for a last min lasagna scan today. DS very excited as he's not been to any scans before, I'm 27+5, should be able to see something?

Thanks for the heads up @DKDK123 - unfortunately I'm at work after it and work in the hospital, doh. I'll make sure I'm near a bin incase.

feliznavidad2 · 10/04/2022 11:09

Sorry to hear about OH @Minster2012 mine was being a bit of a dick yesterday. Hope he comes back grovelling and makes sure you have a rest. x

DKDK123 · 10/04/2022 11:47

@feliznavidad2 hopefully you'll be fine afterwards as I know many people are, just thought I'd give you the heads up as I wasn't expecting to be so sick and was luck I made it home in time

Lexber · 10/04/2022 11:55

@Minster2012 as silly as it sounds it is what it is lol I'd say I know no different (because I was last pregnant so long ago I have honestly forgotten what it's like!) and yeah some days it's hard ass work but others I even forget 🤣
Although the double kicking and pushing is getting extreme now - I honestly feel like they're going to escape out the front 🤣🤣

Still here and still pregnant 🤰 🎉 2 days to go 😬😳 I don't think it's sunk in yet..

just had a lovely blunt text conversation with youngests dad who is a absolute prick!
I've been asking weeks for him to have her extra over Easter holidays (he's been having reduced time last couple of months due to one excuse or another and she slept at her friends Friday night so go got away with that one as well) and he has booked day off - 1 extra day knowing full well I am only asking him as I will be in hospital!! Dick!!!
Well f**k him, he asked for me to keep her one sat night in July - nope!! I'm going to be busy then now!

DKDK123 · 10/04/2022 11:55

Forgot to say, I got this bra for breast feeding from ebay. It's mega cheap only £7, so its not going to win any support awards not really one for going out in if you have big boobs like mine, but it is very soft and comfy so good for nighttime or lounging around the house to wesr pads in to stop leakage. I got it for the first few days in hospital as its front fastening and I remember it being painful to try reach up get a bra on after my section last time so thought this would be easier to put on for the first few days. I'm a 36GG and the 3XL fits, if you have smaller boobs it may offer a bit more support for wearing going out but for the price and how comfy it is on I'm not complaining! Waiting till baby's born and milks established to find my comfy going out bra as I don't mind splurging a bit more on a going out one if it's going to be comfy and supportive.

bez91 · 10/04/2022 12:57

@Minster2012 whooops, whilst never been actually exposed like @DKDK123 says my DD is exactly the same. They really have you on the ropes hanging around the door lock when you're at your most vulnerable!
I hope DH has a plan to make it up to you

@Lexber sounds like you enjoyed your last night out and good stuff on the win 💰 we're planning our last night of freedom out next weekend.

@larrythelizard you're having a real rough time of it, hope you start to pick up today. Wonder if you had norovirus or something

@kaylsd that's good you can do something else you still enjoy 👍🏼 I have 3 weeks left at the work, luckily all at home bar one day so it's providing me with change to rest.

@BellatrixK I had all sorts of strange "blobs" throughout and all seem to be ok and just normal discharge 😊

@paintfairy hope all is good with you?

Had a lie in until 8 this morning which is epic in this house 🙌🏼 got out early with DH to take DD to the park on her bike and only a short 45 min walk but I am absolutely knackered again and feel like I need to return to bed 🤭 the Braxton Hicks are really heating up!

Lexber · 10/04/2022 13:04

Hope you are feeling more yourself soon @larrythelizard

@DKDK123 I got some comfy ones from Primark and I'm going to wait and see what happens feeding/milk wise before investing properly

@Minster2012 over the years the girls have attempted to flash me in loos on many occasions- I've also had to jump off the loo to shit the door before with knickers round ankles 🤣🤣 kids eh!!

Day of rest here - just polished off a full pack of Oreo dipped in milk 🥛 and relaxing on the sofa with a blanket which Mr Bigglesworth is loving and taking full advantage of all the cuddles ❤️

larrythelizard · 10/04/2022 16:54

Excellent use of a day there @Lexber

Whoop @bez91 sounds like a good lie in and a nice day, braxton hicks are a sign shit is starting to get real!

@Minster2012 yeah I would be cross too, hopefully he's worked his way back into your good books now!

I'll bookmark that @DKDK123 - unsure what I have in the loft! That nesting instinct is insane!

How was the lasagna scan @feliznavidad2? What did DS make of it?

Enjoy being amongst your family for the first time in a long time @Franklydear

I have not moved out of bed today apart from a shower and then had a big sick burp and now too scared to move again incase I'm sick - so need to retain these fluids/calories. It's like some weird sickness bug made worse by motion in any form!! Hypothetically if I had to call someone who would I call? Midwife? Dr?

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 10/04/2022 17:07

If you can't keep anything in @larrythelizard I'd suggest midwife (at the hospital ideally) as they can check your bloods and give you some IV fluids if necessary. Hope you're ok lovely.

Lasagna scan was alright, not sure if my chub was the issue obscuring the view but babe was v wriggly, hands and feet up by her face. Photo on IG.

Lexber · 10/04/2022 17:33

@larrythelizard I'd give mw a call sweets as if you've been struggling to keep anything down it could possibly leave you dehydrated. When I was unable to keep anything down after covid they put me back on anti sickness medication which help as just moving made me nauseous it was awful! Annoyingly I'm still taking them now since early January but I've had sickness on off so you Amy only need them a few days/a week. Plus if you need fluids that will boost you massively.

Well my cat snuggles on the sofa turned into a 3hr plus nap on the sofa 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️
I am absolutely exhausted now, I can't get to 1/2pm without needing a rest/nap! Obviously Mr B didn't complain and I only woke up properly because my eldest woke me as she was off to netball and was being picked up soon 🤣 trying to stay awake now for youngest coming home and OH getting home.
No appetite hardly and just realised I've only eaten a ham and cheese toastie and packet of Oreos all day with a glass of milk (and juice and water previously) so forced a scotch pancake down me.

larrythelizard · 10/04/2022 17:41

Thanks @feliznavidad2 @Lexber it would be weird if it's pregnancy related given that it's not come on until 21 weeks but will see how i feel in the morning - not moving at all is fairly untenable for life!

OP posts:
Lexber · 11/04/2022 03:19

Wide awake club, fell asleep about 10.30 but been awake since midnight... mind won't switch off 😬😳

Everything has gotten real now, had a bit of an emotional breakdown this evening when it hit me I'm a matter of hours away.
Induction is new to me plus throw in the fact it's twins I'm actually petrified! I think it's the unknown that's done it tbh but either way it's left me worried and keeping me awake now. I'm trying to sleep and so close but then I start thinking about something else - do I need anything else for the hospital?, do I need anything for the kids at home?, the house needs cleaning, how can I stop the kids feeling left out, Easter, do we have everything we need, what if I struggle to feed, what if they go to SCBU, what if it takes days... Jesus my mind is in over drive and I can't switch it off!!

bez91 · 11/04/2022 07:12

@larrythelizard I'd try pregnancy assessment at the hospital if you're still struggling to keep things down so they can check things, you'll be closer to speaking to a doctor too then going through your GP. Sending love 💕

@feliznavidad2 the lasagne scans are strange, we couldn't really see anything on ours 🤷‍♀️ still lovely to see them wriggling around snug!

@Lexber hope you got back to sleep! I'm not surprised your mind is in overdrive with twins but you've done all you can to prepare and you just need to think about you now to get these babies here, you've got this 🙌🏼

I think extreme thirst is normal in third tri right? Usually I can be a camel but yesterday I drank about 3.5 litres which resulted in a loo trip every 20 mins all day 😬

larrythelizard · 11/04/2022 08:57

@Lexber I think it's all so natural - the unknown is scary and you're about to hit the unknown big time. But have faith in the fact that you've kept two wonderful girls alive, you have a supportive OH and a fab medical team. Also you have a whole load of supporters in your pocket anytime you doubt yourself!!

@bez91 I reckon it has to be normal - i think it's normal to piss every 20 mins in 3rd tri anyway!

I kept everything down yesterday 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼 but given that lack of protein and dehydration cause my migraines it's no surprise that I have a migraine coming - hoping it's not too bad but don't have high hopes!

My sister had a baby girl last week so I am super broody looking at all the pics coming through!

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 11/04/2022 09:00

Exactly what @larrythelizard said, it's totally normal lovely and of course sh*t is going to start feeling real now you're so close to Tuesday. I have no doubt that you've got this, and we'll all be rooting for you and your babes. x

Vil10 · 11/04/2022 10:03

Hey ladies, sorry for not being on for a few days, I've had a busy few days but I have been reading through! We finally ordered our sofas over the weekend and they'll be with us around the 2nd week of July so before baby which is great and gives us time to decorate in the living room beforehand, we're hopefully getting a move in date today too🤞🏼 I've been really struggling with acid reflux this weekend, seems better this morning though, must've been the pint of milk I had last night! I'm 24 weeks today and feeling really good and positive about hitting the important milestone🥳 got my midwife app on Thursday so I'm going to mention about not having anyone to contact directly if I have worries etc and that I'd like a number for them (or even to just see the same midwife would be nice, I've seen 2 different ones so far)

@BellatrixK so glad everything went well at your scan!! That's a real baby in there🥳

@Minster2012 it's bad isn't it, I've spoken to a few girls I know and they don't have numbers for the midwives either, I just don't understand?? They've kind of left us in the dark and on our own, I'd literally be clueless who to ring if I needed anything! How's the trapped nerve now??

@bez91 so glad the scan went well and baby is doing great! And no induction either, great news! Very true on the swimming, I felt so lightweight it was amazing😂

@kaylsd Amazing that you only have a few weeks left of face to face work!! And so good that they're taking good care of you!!

@larrythelizard Sorry to hear your nausea has returned!! Weird because my retching has got worse again and I'm doing it after food/mid conversation as well as when I'm brushing my teeth🥴 hope you start to feel better soon x

@Minster2012 completely understandable feeling emotional like that! You deserve this beautiful rainbow🌈

@Juno231 ahhh amazing news on the house!! Everything is working out well! So happy for you x

@feliznavidad2 loved the lasagne scan pic!!

@Lexber like others have said I think it's all completely natural to feel like this especially with twins, but you've done everything you can and got as organised as possible, you'll be amazing, don't worry about anything else❤️

I've booked a lasagne scan in for 29+4, as we're on holiday when I'm 28 weeks, and we can only really do fridays as OH finishes at dinner then and we want our mums to come and his mum works Saturdays, but I got told a lasagne scan is good anytime from 27-32 weeks!
As for paternity leave/pay, we've been really lucky that OH works for a big company and he's worked there for 12 years now so gets quite a few benefits, he gets 2 weeks paid leave then he had 10 holidays he had to use before March but his boss has let him carry them over so 5 will be for moving in and 5 for when the baby arrives so he'll be off for 3 weeks if I have a normal birth but his boss has also said he'll throw a few days in for him if I have a section if OH just works an extra few weekends than what he usually does! Also if OH goes into work earlier he can leave earlier so he's already started getting into the routine of getting up at 5:30, walking the dogs, going to the gym and sauna, then work, then he's home from work by 3:30/4 and has done the gym so that'll be great for when he is back at work after the baby because he'll still have plenty of time in the late afternoon/evenings with the baby!

Franklydear · 11/04/2022 10:09

I’ll give you the comic relief, as things are getting serious now, I forgotten to bring any handbags, just the backpack, so guess who’s crocheting one in baby blue, I have limited resources, it’ll be very basic and frogged when I get home ( frogging for the non knitters, when you have to undo your work, you... rip it, rip it, rip it😂)

feliznavidad2 · 11/04/2022 10:13

My reply was for @Lexber Blush haha I'm so rubbish

Juno231 · 11/04/2022 10:25

@Lexber I totally get why the fear but OMG HOW EXCITING that you'll get to snuggle and kiss them tomorrow!!! I can't wait to see pics! And just think of how much more comfortable you'll be even with the c section wound 😂

@Vil10 yay for sofas and hopefully you'll get that move in date asap. I'm glad you've got the lasagna scan to look forward to as well. Apparently I get a growth scan in July so my anatomy one wasn't the last one like I thought

@larrythelizard well done on keeping food/liquids down yesterday - can't believe how ill you've been with this bug 😬

@bez91 excellent news on the scan and well done for going swimming

Thanks for the well wishes ladies on me finding a place to live lol - I was starting to get a bit concerned! This week is MAD work wise as I'm off on leave from Fri so have lots to finish off. Then I'm in the states for 2 weeks (I'm so so excited) followed by my last two weeks in the house packing everything up as we're moving on the 13th of May. Friday the 13th - what could possibly go wrong!

@paintfairy I hope you're not being quiet because covid is kicking your ass?

@Minster2012 my OH gets 4 weeks paid paternity leave and then we're planning for him to take shared parental leave. If he was to take it earlier on he'd get that fully paid too but he'll be taking it at the end so 🤷

Minster2012 · 11/04/2022 10:34

Also championing @Lexber all the way, the house doesn't have to be clean, Easter will happen and it will always be lovely no matter what & even more did island this year. Your Ex will always kick back cos Ex's are like that but overall YOU CAN DO THIS!

@larrythelizard I still think you need to mention it to your midwife the illness but im pleased you seem to be out the other side. I think after 28 weeks for me it's the antenatal ward/day unit, anything else is midwife team first but if it's bad sickness/something worrying I'd call the antenatal wards as there should always be someone to ask. Congrats on being an auntie! It will be so nice you are close together

@feliznavidad2 lovely scan!

@bez91 did you get your rest? I think I've only had BH once so far, I'm hoping they don't ramp up. LOVING your DHs to do list, get more on it! Mine is useless. Still in bad books. I'm also on the extreme thirst...so are you back to just waiting for baby's arrival now they say no induction needed? Is that right?

@Vil10 well you two have it sorted!! That's perfect him changing his routine & so he can get back earlier, I'm so impressed! And happy viability day 🥰so pleased, it's alllllll falling into place & your mums will be emotional wrecks at the scan

@Franklydear I always forget something but don't usually have the resources to sort it so least you can do that!

Sat in day unit clinic now waiting, managed to ABSOLUTELY cover my hand in wee for my sample. However there are only 4 ladies here this time so maybe not 3.5 hours today?? Who knows.

Feeling crap & DH still in bad books I'm just in such a bad mood! Like DH said to me last night "I'm not trying to reason with you cos you just want to be angry right now". Pretty true really
