@kaylsd yes for shorter shifts & ONG just watched MAFS 😂

@Franklydear pjs day for you or me? Unfortunately X doesn't do pj days so we've walked dogs, he's had a bath whilst I packed hospital stuff & written shopping list for batch cooking a la @bez91, off to playgroup now

@larrythelizard yes that REALLY worries us too about baby waking X up. The fear is real

School in august @DKDK123? We've got school starting sep so that will help us, I will do school run no doubt, do you know where he's going? I think we find out from our choices mid April & I bloody hope he can continue going to the one he does a morning a week preschool, it's not our "catchment" but still only 5 mins away & better than our catchment one, he loves it

Right playgroup now

Kate105 · 05/04/2022 10:02

Hi everyone, glad to see we've had some good news all round instead of you all just ailing 😂😂😂 nothing to report here, having a nice time with friends visiting and PTSD is (mostly) playing ball... although he's having far too much fun socialising so we missed plastic playgroup yesterday because he had an extra long nap. Oh well, not massively devastated about that one 😂

Juno231 · 05/04/2022 10:04

@DKDK123 @Minster2012 @larrythelizard ah excellent news day all around ladies!! So pleased for you 🥰

@whatwonder feel better soon! Take it easy on yourself

So my UTI turns out to be caused by Group B Strep 😬. So now I'm on super strong antibiotics (pharmacist told me to get on the probiotics straight away) - how long before I get the shits and thrush? 😅. It also means I'll need an antibiotic IV for when I'm in labour to stop it from spreading to baby so I guess that's my planned water birth out the window already!

Gah there's always something isn't there...

Juno231 · 05/04/2022 10:05

@Kate105 oh and thank you for the breast pad recommendation! I have some reusable ones in trying out now but I haven't leaked the last two nights so haven't been able to test them properly!

becarefuloutthere · 05/04/2022 10:08

@Kate105 what's plastic playgroup all about? 🧐

becarefuloutthere · 05/04/2022 10:09

@Juno231 oh hun, sorry to hear! Hope you're ok x

becarefuloutthere · 05/04/2022 10:11

I'm pleased everyone is well! Adjusting to motherhood takes a while so apols for not keeping up recently. I must post on insta so you can see her again. She's so pretty 🤩 (imo)

Minster2012 · 05/04/2022 10:40

Oh no @Juno231 that's rubbish on the strep B. It's true there is always something 😩btw any news on a flat? I was talking to my friend with the now 1 week old last night about breastfeeding & leaking & she said "I'm not a leaker I'm so pleased!" Now there's a sentence 😂

@Kate105 I'm literally waiting for the doors to open to a plastic playgroup now. It feels like I've done half a day already 😂

@becarefuloutthere she is gorgeous & dont apologise

Lexber · 05/04/2022 11:25

@Franklydear I'm also a planner to an extent- I like to have an idea or be prepared and this pregnancy has completely taken it all out my hands 😬 I think I'm just starting to accept that now at 35 weeks (tomorrow) haha I've not even written a birth plan cos let's be honest with twins it could be pointless as what will be will be! Could be natural, could be c section still, could even be both depending on the birth so I definitely to plan so I can't get stressed or disappointed
I'm with @Minster2012 im trying to rest BUT I have so much to do as well and so slow that everything takes so long to do.
Shopping yesterday (friend came with me to help), nails today, hospital tomorrow, hv visit Thursday and work meal Friday lunch 🤣 but I am trying to rest before/after

@Minster2012 I still have moments of "shot there's 2!" And it feels surreal!! I think until they're both here it's not going to hit us properly...

@larrythelizard that's one of our biggest worries with the babies and my youngest, Altho she is 11 she struggles with sleep due to ASD and takes melatonin to help her sleep but once awake she struggles to drop back off. We are making lots of plans of how she can cope if babies are keeping her awake at night - Alexa (low music enough to drown the noise out) ear plugs, extra nights at her dads if desperately struggling.. of all the things to worry about with 2 newborn babies my biggest worry is her adjusting to the changes as she struggles with change sometimes- I am hoping the excitement overrides the anxiety for her! The change from
1-2 years ago with eldest went like a dream as we were prepared so 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 for it again, I suppose atleast now the girls are old enough to take themselves out if needed and things are to chaotic at home - we only live 5 min from town centre so the had a walk together after school yesterday to go to Primark and maccys 🤣

Glad you are taking it a little easier @kaylsd I was knocked for 6 with the fatigue so take it steady and look after yourself xx

@DKDK123 🤣🤣 that made me laugh!! But you do realise once mine are here there's 3 of you not far behind me... 🤣🤣 Altho I did jump ahead early so hopefully you al have a few extra weeks!! I think from Now it's a case of the longer I hold on to them the less time needed in SCBU hopefully. If I can wait until 36 weeks they may need very little or no time, but if they come now they are much more likely to be in special care for a few days/weeks depending. But I've had the steroids so not too worried just feeling very apprehensive about the unknown i think! But we're all in the same situation just in different ways xx

@Juno231 sorry to hear about the strep b but it's good it's been caught early! My friend had it and she had a nice straight forward birth and no issues after as they were covered. Is it def a no no for water birth? Could you still use the pool before hand? Sorry I'm Not sure about it as never had it myself.

@becarefuloutthere so glad things are going well for you, it's lovely to hear from you!

I can't wait for all the fun baby stuff Altho I will be taking a friend with me for each one 🤣🤣 not even going to try and do them alone with 2... I will be grey by the end of my maternity leave 🤣🤣

How are you @bez91 ? Xxx

kaylsd · 05/04/2022 11:42

@larrythelizard every single person throughout my pregnancy has said they think I’m having a boy, also my DH friend I spoke about she’s having a boy who had the low laying placenta so it makes you think 🤣 I saw my mum
For first time in 2 week and abit yesterday secondary to covid (I missed her on Mother’s Day and her birthday :() but was so nice to see her and she’s very much team blue for me to the point she said she cannot wait to see them tottling to come see her with Thomas the tank engine backpacks 🤣🤣🤣 I was like mum if little bubs is a girl they still might do Thomas backpacks you never know!
@feliznavidad2 @larrythelizard it makes you laugh with the terminology they use, they were saying oh you’ve got a lovey clear canal here.. I had visions of a boat streaming inside me 🤣
@bez91 I hope everything is well for you still sweetheart 😊😊
@dkdk123 felt like playing George Michael song when I saw the negatives haha! 🤣🤣🤣 hope your alright :)
@minster2012 going to watch it now with a cup of tea and a coconut tart eeeekkkk I’m excited to see the drama 🐸 ☕️
@kate105 naps over playgroups any day of the week!
@juno231 sorry to hear about the step B :(
I hope you feel better soon, least you have the reassurance soon as you think your waters have gone they have to admit you straight away I believe for antibiotics sending hugs xx
@lexber sounds like you’ve got a busy week ahead try and rest as much as you can inbetween I know easier said than done 😘

The ultimate face of innocence, yes she looks all cute and smiley, but prior to this photo she rolled around in some random massive pile of poo on the grass so had to be cleaned post walk 🙃 hope your all okay ladies xxx

Minsters Side Car - Thread 7 - annoying neighbours, second hand bargains and how many sleep suits should we buy again?!
larrythelizard · 05/04/2022 11:55

Enjoy playgroup @Minster2012

Oh bollocks @Juno231 how annoying, better to know now though instead of baby being at risk in delivery

I bet she's beautiful @becarefuloutthere

Surely a hair appt should be in there somewhere as well @Lexber?!

I'm the same and most of my concerns with this new baby (other than career related) are to do with DS @Lexber!

I reckon I'm having another boy @kaylsd - team blue all the way (also a whole loft full of clothes he can wear and also my close friend is having a boy at the start of august!). My DS is a walking talking stereotype which has nothing to do with me, but anything with wheels and digging in the mud are his absolute favourites! Although he did sprint off the cars at soft play last week to go and do pretend shops so maybe another side to him!

I'm mainly gossiping with colleagues instead of doing the actual work I need to do today. Whoops!

Have booked the re-scan, just sneaking in before 23w - Easter is a bit of an issue!

@kaylsd @Minster2012 omg MAFS! Last night I had to then stay up and wait for the 10pm extra showing to see what happened because I just couldn't wait until today. But then watching what's happening in todays too- i cannot believe how well Olivia hid her hideous personality before. As for the other 2- I'm glad they got told to do one. 🤬
@DKDK123 I don't think you ever do feel an adult? I kept waiting and I'm nearly 40 and I think I've realised it won't happen. I have just realised that people just wing it, where as I thought I should wait to do important things. 🤣
@larrythelizard I'm glad the scan went OK. Well, ish. I didn't even realise they could hold on to the placenta! 🤭 Another scan is no bad thing though. I'm glad your appointment went well and everything is looking OK.
@bez91 I would be shitting myself also. In not going to lie. But the baby has to come out? 🙈 Hopefully not yet though!
@minster2012 I'm glad everything looked OK at your appointment. Get your DH to massage that area- always works for me. The muscle just there goes into spasm and makes the nerve pain worse!
@Lexber aaarrrgghhh. Nearly there. You have done good though! Babies cooking nicely.
@Juno231 the group b strep thing looks very confusing? It looks like lots of people have it but don't know. And they don't test because even a couple of weeks before (a positive) doesn't mean it'll affect the baby. So they don't bother? So a billion people must have water births without even knowing they have it anyway?

I'm still feeling rubbish. Just tired. I feel slightly less blocked up today though and keep shoving my head over a bowl of vicks. Its annoying pretty much being able to do nothing else about it. Baby is happily bouncing around though, so clearly she's feeling OK. 🤣

kaylsd · 05/04/2022 14:35

@paintfairy @Minster2012 and for anyone else who watches MAFS what the hell with Olivia on tonight's sneak preview being with the in laws!!! Like how is this side just coming out now near the end 🤨 loved the experts with Daniel and that little snakey lady🤣🤣🤣 was so glued to my TV watching that 👀

@larrythelizard my instinct is also team blue despite team yellow so you never know! Keeps in handy for you if little one is a boy so your DS clothes from baby days can reoccur and you can compare photos of how they may look wearing certain things im sure the memories will come flooding back for you 🥺 glad you've sorted out your scan for take 2 for seeing if baby wants to stop holding on so tight to your placenta heheh xx

feliznavidad2 · 05/04/2022 14:44

So glad your scan went well @larrythelizard - I also think you may be having a boy!

Glad you're well @becarefuloutthere bet she's gorgeous - please do upload a pic!

@kaylsd your little dog is so beautiful. Are you finding out or staying team 💛 glad you're feeling brighter lovely.

Sorry to hear that @Juno231 - I was negative last pregnancy but since then, had a vaginal swab performed as had really heavy periods ? And it came back +ve for it. Obstetrician said we can either test closer to the time of labour to see what the result is, or, they can treat me as positive anyway if I'd prefer - I went with the latter as according to various websites I looked at after, the false negative rate is really quite high - around 4-5 in 10? I guess as others have said, better they find out now so babe should be unaffected. Still disappointing for you though.

Good that you're improving @paintfairy - the BF friendly nighties have arrived from Freemans and are surprisingly alright. I mean, I won't win any fashion awards in them but suitably functional.

I'm laying on the sofa. Pondering baby nursery colours. And whether to go for a nap. Plan to be back at work on Thursday so may as well make the most of this lazing time.

DKDK123 · 05/04/2022 16:37

Feeling a bit deflated after yesterday's happiness. Consultant called to say she's booked me in for the 10th of May (37+5), said she would have preferred to book me the week before that rather than let me go later but having looked at the rotas she preferred the stronger team on the 10th there wasn't anything as suitable the week before. Now obviously I'm over the moon that I know there is the best of the best team now chosen, but it now gives me the fear that if I go early I now know there isn't as good a team the week before then! 🙈 I know obviously they'll all do their best regardless of when I'm taken in but if she'd have preferred the week before but pushed it back a week due to the staff it doesn't fill me with confidence! Plus she said there's still the risk of me going earlier due to her growth, the excess amnio and the pre e so its still back to assessing each week and making a decision if taking her out early is best whereas yesterday the way she was talking it just felt more confident that baby was hanging on in there till the given date and it would all be planned and calm and I'd get to be awake. She didnt outrightly say it and i didnt want to ask incase I cried but if its an emergency because things are going wrong and the teams not as good Im guessing there's more liklihood of me being asleep for it. I'd have been fine if I didn't have my expectations set high from yesterday but now just feeling deflated. Just gotta cross everything both baby and my body want to hold out for an extra week so I get the good team 🤞

InkyPaper · 05/04/2022 16:53

Hey everyone! Head is a little better today - at least I don't want to chop it off, so that's a bonus 😄 had my midwife appointment letter through too, which was riddled with spelling errors and digits missing from the area code on the phone number, so I'm absolutely filled with confidence now 😂🙈

@Lexber it's all getting super exciting and very real! Is there anyone who can help you with your to-do list?

@Juno231 oh no! That's rubbish 😔 is there no way they could clear your system of it before baby arrives??

@becarefuloutthere no need to apologise when you've got a small person to look after 😄

@paintfairy well it's good you're less blocked at least!

@feliznavidad2 what colours are you thinking for your nursery? I am fairly confident DHs head will explode if I suggest decorating what will be the nursery, so the walls definitely won't be changing!

@DKDK123 big hugs 🤗 the anxiety just never ends does it? Keeping everything crossed that all goes to plan for you ❤️

BellatrixK · 05/04/2022 17:31

Thank you @larrythelizard to be fair, I already feel a bit better today, so I think that the antibiotics are doing their job. Oh no for awkward baby! At least you’ll get to see them again soon? And it is very, very cute that they were cuddling into the placenta! Also, always good to be procrastinating!

Hope that you feel better soon @whatwonder there seems to be horrid colds going around at the moment.

Thank you @bez91 it’s, luckily, not too bad at the moment. I think I caught it early. How are you today? Everything is so terrifying in pregnancy. Have you spoken to a midwife?

@Lexber that is so so soon! Can’t believe it! And you’ll have your twins! You’ve done so well to get this far, but they can last 1 more week!

@Minster2012 hope that you managed today? Hope it was a nice and chilled one… I read your next update, sounds very productive! You’ve done well. Lots ticked off your list!

@InkyPaper hope your headache has gone. When is your appointment? Always reassuring to see so many errors!

@DKDK123 so much change for your DS at the moment. And you as well, I’m so sorry that you are feeling stressed. It just seems like so much guesswork and so much that can’t be planned. We’re here to handhold though.

@Juno231 oh no! I mean feeling better is definitely good… less so shits and thrush! It shouldn’t be a choice between these two evils should it?

@kaylsd pups are so deceptive, that face is far too cute to have ever done anything naughty! Also, for your mum, I was a real tomboy when I was little. I loved Thomas the Tank!

I’m much better today, and just 2 days until the scan!

InkyPaper · 05/04/2022 17:39

@BellatrixK it's next Wednesday 😊 forgot to say! According to the letter, the scan date should follow within three weeks of booking in as you choose which hospital you want to go to when booking (I think you asked about this before? If not, ignore me, I am losing my mind 🤣) ooooh two days isn't long to wait! You got this!

becarefuloutthere · 05/04/2022 17:47

Thank you for the lovely comments, you're all very sweet 😘 pics posted @feliznavidad2!
@kaylsd what a cute pup despite the rolling in shit bit 🤣

I've been at the park today with my nephews and mum, I actually ran around as one of my nephews is 19 months old, feel knackered now 😅

@BellatrixK @InkyPaper glad you're both feeling better now, long May it continue!

@DKDK123 aw rubbish about feeling deflated, hoping it all works out for the best! 🤞🏾

Minster2012 · 05/04/2022 18:04

Oh my, out & on my feet since before 10, well 7.30 / 8 if you count this mornings dog walk & I'm officially dead now. Actually can't walk this sciatica pain has got me screaming out randomly & crying. Someone in Tesco asked if I was ok 😬

Anyways, @Lexber tbh you'll prob be "shit there are 2" for a while after birth too 😂

@InkyPaper it was covered in errors??? What?? That does not make you feel great! But pleased you are feeling better

@BellatrixK just over a day darling 😍

So we've got boy predictions for @kaylsd & @larrythelizard we'll see! That's great you've got your other scan booked @larrythelizard

@paintfairy I've just watched the second part of MAFS & it was just the same right...on the cheaters, not showing the home stay otherwise my tv has missed some can't wait 😜

@feliznavidad2 did you decide nursery colours? Or have a nap?! Or both?!

@DKDK123 have faith in Emily that she's gonna be in there for that date anyway. We believe in you

InkyPaper · 05/04/2022 18:42

@Minster2012 oh bless ya! That sounds horrible 😔 is it worth asking the midwife or your GP for help? Yeah, there were a fair few (urine "sampme" I particularly liked 😂) but I write for my day job so stuff like that always sticks out for me

Franklydear · 05/04/2022 18:52

Pj days for everybody @Minster2012, I won’t have one for a while, I work until we leave and neither mum will allow it, all dress by 10!

I am tired and still need to wash my hair, so toodles!

paintfairy · 05/04/2022 19:09

@Minster2012 last night MAFS was on at normal time and then there was an extra half an hour on at 10pm because of the unexpected twist? And @kaylsd I honestly thought Olivia was one of the nicest ones there at the beginning! 🙈 Clearly not.
@DKDK123 They'll always get emergency sections though. So I guess their thinking is that they wouldn't want to fill up an already busy week with planned ones in case too many emergency ones come in on top? So hopefully it doesn't mean there'll be a useless service. I hope! But its understandable how you feel. The whole thing is a worry at the end!
@InkyPaper I've had quite a lot of headaches (actually thankfully not for a couple of weeks) but be prepared for more. 🙈 Its not fun. The midwife letter sounds great. 🤣
@BellatrixK pleased the antibiotics are working!
@becarefuloutthere I can imagine life will never be the same again! 🤭 She is cute though! Pink suits her!

Minster2012 · 05/04/2022 19:26

@paintfairy ah yes so I just watched that extra half an hour whilst cooking, was worried I'd missed the honestly one! It's always the sickly sweet ones that are masking their inner bitch, they can't keep the face up for long!

@Franklydear I'm gonna try chill a bit tomorrow. Whilst working but at least it's sitting 😂

@InkyPaper yeah last time I saw the midwife she said she'd refer me to the physio for my hip pain at that time, however it's now 3 weeks later & another midwife appointment on Thursday & no referral 😢, ah yes that's pretty annoying, but least you know how to do a urine sample now thanks to my hospital 😂

Bless him X keeps kissing my back every time I scream in pain, however I can see he's getting a bit upset now 🥺

bez91 · 05/04/2022 19:40

Thanks ladies for the support, symptoms eased off last night and I was ok this morning, so now I only feel like my womb is about to drop out my vag when I stand up 🙈 I have my scan and consultant appointment Thursday so will mention it then but hopefully just my body in prep mode although very very different to last time! I'm a bit more worried as I had some contractions last time I just couldn't feel so worried my body if always doing more than I can actually feel 😆

@larrythelizard that's good then on the placenta and not a massive concern if you were going ELCS anyway 👍🏼

@Juno231 oh no that's frustrating, hope the super antibiotics help, did they pick up through a swab? I know it's common in pregnancy but regularly missed as they don't routinely test. That's weird @feliznavidad2 i didn't know you could get false readings for it either!

@becarefuloutthere she's so lovely 🥰 😍

@Lexber eagerly awaiting to hear your plan of attack tomorrow 😬

@larrythelizard @kaylsd isn't it weird how people and even yourself sometimes are set on an idea of what you're having. Like your mum @kaylsd My best friend is convinced I'm having a boy, she has referred to baby as 'he' the whole pregnancy. Then again last time everyone was wrong apart from DH 😆 my instinct also team blue; I think I've seen a Willy on the scans but then again could be a funny view of the umbilical cord through the legs 🙈

@DKDK123 handhold, I get you. That is deflating as you have a longer period of being in the unknown I suppose. Means more resting for you missus and I'm sure if they are still scanning you weekly there is scope to change and move it forward. It sounds like a lot of us due next are going to get dates this week, I'm hoping I get some sort of plan for induction after Thursdays growth scan but trying not to be too ambitious

@Minster2012 oh no shooting pains in the middle of Tesco - not ideal! I had a shooty vag pain today at work as I was walking from one side of the office to another, I let out a bit of a screech. Annoying on the referral, hope it comes through soon or it's pointless although I dare say when I had sciatica when pregnant with DD and saw a physio they only preached to me about how to get in and out the car correctly so pretty useless 🤦🏼‍♀️
