Glad things worked out ok @Franklydear and your new hair is good!

How was your steak @Minster2012 ? I cannot wait for a medium rare ribeye with a huge glass of Malbec once baby is born. 🥩 And fab news on the people not coming. 🤭

@DKDK123 five days left is nothing 🙌🏻 sorry to hear you're having a time of it with DS, how old is he again? It's a tricky time for them isn't it. I fully expect similar from DS closer to the time when our baby is due.

Nothing like a good clean when a visitor is coming over @Kate105 hope you have a fun time!

You've inspired me to start lists @paintfairy - I'm doing two, one is named 'baby' (😂) and the other is named 'labour and birth'. I may also do a 3rd list as last time had a 3rd bag in the car in case of prolonged stay in hospital which came in v handy after a 4 day induction and then being kept in for another 3 or 4 days post-birth.

Day 5/6 of COVID here and I'm deffo improving. 🥳 Wish the same could be same for the thrush but think it's not helped by still being on oral antibiotics, at least they stop on Monday eve. Hoping to be back at work next week and DS is definitely ready for school tomorrow!

Juno231 · 03/04/2022 08:14

@dkdk123 oh that sounds tough with DS but also totally normal ❤️ only a little while longer and he'll be totally in love with his sister and fighting for your attention instead!

@Franklydear I'm glad you liked your stay! And that your hair turned out well. I was just thinking how I haven't had mine cut since April last year... No greys yet though so at least I don't have to worry about dyeing it!

@vil10 ah I know how you feel about the search - here in South London all the houses come up with a subsidence warning as the ground is swampy (it's why there's barely any underground south of the river) but then again that's always been the case and there's still a few million people living here so...

@Lexber can't believe you're on mat leave already 😱 and what an awesome last day to boot.

@paintfairy I hate the iPad (not an apple fan lol) but use my phone for the Kindle app and to watch TV when travelling. I downloaded BBC gardeners world for my flight to Copenhagen the other weekend 😂

Okay so ladies that's two nights in a row my pyjamas have been ruined by leaking breast milk... That's early right?? I'm gonna have to get breast pads already I think.

Started the positive birth company's digital course last week btw - feels nice to be doing something that makes baby's arrival feel more tangible.

Oh and we put offers on two of the 4 flats we viewed yesterday so fingers crossed 🤞

Franklydear · 03/04/2022 08:22

@Juno231 I never leaked but sounds early to me, hope some of the flats come back so you’ll be sorted, the hairdresser said I only have 30/40 % of greys, that sounds a lot to me and most of them at the front so dyeing it is!

Minster2012 · 03/04/2022 08:51

@Franklydear aww well hopefully you feel in a better mood today

@Juno231 that's pretty early I'd say, I was looking at the little lambs breast pads yesterday they seem good (reusable ones). 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻on the flats for you. I'm so envious of you guys who can do one half cut a year! My friend is like that, mind is so coarse & awful I have to have it tamed so regularly & I still don't like it

@feliznavidad2 I have another "spares" bag here too if extra bits that DH can grab if I have to stay in longer, hoping you keep feeling better

Minster2012 · 03/04/2022 08:54

Oh and ladies. A lovely TMI question from me...
Sex, I'm still horny & it's still comfortable (though @Juno231 I have joked when he bites/sucks mg nips he'll get milk soon!)
HOWEVER no matter how horny I am, how into it I am, I am drier than the Sahara. Is this a late pregnancy thing? I was the opposite til couple of weeks ago 🤪

Maybe don't read that over breakfast 😂

Franklydear · 03/04/2022 09:08

@Minster2012 the warnings must come first, I say this mid croissant, I can only cut my hair like that when is really short, shoulder length now so every 4 months tops, growing it to my waist again for the princess trust

paintfairy · 03/04/2022 10:12

@Minster2012 🤣🤣🤣 I'm surprised you have even been horny! But yes I think it's likely normal. I just use lube. But then what is sex? 🤔🤣 We had steak last night too!
@Juno231 That does seem early. I have noticed this week though that mine are leaking in a morning. Not enough to mark clothes though. Having said that I don't sleep in pjs, but it seems slight. I hate apple too but I don't have any kind of tablet equivalent either.
@feliznavidad2 I think I'd feel much better with lists as then I am in control. Kind of. Need to find some paper...... 🤣

I'm listening to DH (for the 2nd day in a row) trying to nail into a wall and ranting. Honestly he winds me up so much when he has to do any kind of job, I want to nail his head. And of course he's left it until the last minute possible to sort this. 🙄
Yesterday I watched some physio videos sent to me by the hospital. Part of the antenatal online stuff. Never did i think I'd be learning how to get in the car, how to get dressed and how to get in bed. Ironically the upshot was- keep your legs closed.... 🤭
24 weeks today! Aaarrrgghhh. 🥳 I have a proper baby! 🙈

2020mission · 03/04/2022 10:59

@Minster2012 I don't think I was that dry at the end of pregnancy but then we didn't do it that much then except the last weeks when I was keen to get Matthew out 😅 just get the lube out!

I will say now after the little episiotomy I had, when we have sex it feels absolutely fine but then the rest of the day when I wipe after a pee it's a bit stingy. It's like I'm a virgin again 😂 I think they might have stitched me a bit tight at the bottom where the perineum is 😬 hopefully over time it will stretch. It's hard to tell what's going on as the cut was inside so outside looks normal. Sorry if TMI too haha

paintfairy · 03/04/2022 11:09

@2020mission I think it actually takes a long time to sort itself. My friend had issues and now it's fine. Its been 6 years mind. 🤣

2020mission · 03/04/2022 11:10

@Juno231 best get used to pyjamas being covered in milk as soon it will be normal and you'll keep them on anyway 😅 you soon decide to not to change with every leak or spit up when you look at the washing load. It does sound early for leaking but it's definitely normal. I didn't leak anything in pregnancy and I was convinced I wasn't going to produce any milk because nothing was there but it appeared quickly after the birth.

2020mission · 03/04/2022 11:12

Ahh @paintfairy thanks I'm hoping it's like when you first start having sex and it just takes a bit of time to stretch 😆 I did read somewhere that the scar can heal with extra tissue and be too tight but hopefully that's not happened. It's annoying as they said I only needed the cut as his heart rate was showing he was stressed so they wanted me to be able to push him out quickly. If that hadn't happened I'd (possibly) have delivered him without a cut or tear.

Lexber · 03/04/2022 11:16

I think my hospital bags are ready to pretty much alll except snacks - I seem to have. A complete mind blank in snacks - any ideas?!?!

Ooooh @DKDK123 that's brilliant although it's a few weeks 5 working days is nothing!!
I can't believe how quickly mine has come about, I'm on annual leave from tomorrow then Mat leave starts on 13th if they dont come sooner themselves 😬 and it's the 3rd today... sh1111111t!

@feliznavidad2 I'd def recommend a spare bag for the car so you don't have to take half as much with you. I plan to leave a couple of packs of nappies in the car too just because we will use them in half the time 😬
Hope you are feeling better soon xx

I'm trying to stay positive if I am induced it won't be days! Lol a twin mum posted yesterday about her induction at 36 weeks and she started within the hour and they were here 2 hour later!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 my last was nice and quick/easy - I went in at 11.30pm and was 1-2 and they wanted me to go home so I went for a walk around the carpark and went back less than an hour later feeling it more intense and was 4-5 so they took me to the birth suite and she was here at 1.26am! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I've been leaking a while also @Juno231 but not loads, I've found more recently I am leaking more. I didn't have this with my previous 2 pregnancies so it was a shock to me. Everyone is different some do start leaking very early, others not at all. Maybe try pads at night and see how you get on? Get some washable ones that you can alternate

Haha @Minster2012 def agree warnings come first 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 it's probably just a change in hormones due to body changes in last trimester? In all honesty with my hips and the size of bump and babies activity sex is the last thing I want as it hurts me now (swear to god my faff is swollen so much due to excess water/blood as are my legs, ankles and feet) so I can't say it's the same for me lol thankfully OH completely understands and is being very supportive (plus feels bad knowing I'm not comfy and it's become more a chore than pleasure for us now)

@paintfairy I'm at the point now I can't physically lift my legs because of my hips without using my hands or someone helping me 😬 on Friday the lovely midwife had to lift my leg on the bed for me🤣 and talk about slow walking - I think a snail could lap me right now!!

@2020mission I had exactly the same after my first (she ripped me front to back the bigger headed bugger!!) lol and yes it does soften and stretch to the point you completely forget it even happened! My OH says he wouldn't have know. If I hadn't told him that I'd had 2 kids 😉😉 or had been stitched etc so that's a positive for you ladies if you do need stitches at all? And witch hazel was a blessing and healed me so quickly. A dab on a gauze on top of my pad - smelt nice too 🤣

Chill day for us, Altho need to take Mr Bigglesworth to the vets for his first injections soon.. so I really should get up and shower 🤣 but I didn't go to bed til 1am as we were relaxing watching tv downstairs- I had 4x 15 year old girls over last night for eldest birthday last week. And I'm currently the best parent ever as I got them some hardly alcoholic alcopops, sweets, snacks and ordered in dominos pizzas🤣 then they decided to go to town today so I have them £20 to go get a maccys breakfast (I know one of them didn't bring much money with her as it was a last minute plan to go out today so I didn't want her feeling left out or not eating, and I used my bingo winnings haha) I overheard one of her friends say how cool I am - I will take that! At 35 I will take every ounce of cool o can get as I will be 50 when the twins are 15...!! And most likely not as cool.. 🤣🤣🤣

Lexber · 03/04/2022 11:19

Introducing Mr Bigglesworth 🤣

paintfairy · 03/04/2022 11:49

@2020mission yes scar tissue can. And it takes ages to settle to its end point. My arm still hasn't and my op was last June. And that still gets tight despite the constant silicone tape and massage etc. It maybe needs stretching but I'm not sure how you can do it there. 🤣
@Lexber in the nicest possible way, I hope i don't ever got to your stage. 🤭 But I can completely see why. Not long now though. 🤞I was wondering what on earth you were on about! A cat! Makes sense now. Awww, bless him.

Minster2012 · 03/04/2022 12:59

Oh yeah sorry @Franklydear & @Lexber the warning should have been first 😂yeah we are using all the lube, ironically the preseed is still what we have (I stocked up just before BFP 😂)

@paintfairy 😂😂😂keep your legs crossed. Also, to get up roll onto side & push up & swing round, basically from about 30 weeks this is a manoeuvre you'll start to know well 😂 whoop for proper baby! I don't sleep in pjs either but seeing as ppl in hull wear them all day when NOT in hospital & my friend says she's only worn pjs for 4 days whilst in hospital I def thought needed!

@2020mission we are on all the lube! I'm trying to make the most of it now whilst I still feel like it! Loving that you feel like a virgin again, this pic is for you!

@Lexber you are cool!! That sounds awesome! Hi mr bigglesworth! Snacks eise I have already bought: nuts, choc, biscuits (Kit Kats) & crisps, squeezy fruit things (toddler snacks basically!) I've also bought isotonic drinks & a variety pack of small cereal as I like to eat cereal dry! I plan on buying fruit. I'm not sure what else too! That's def the kind of short Labour you want! 🤞🏻

bez91 · 03/04/2022 14:20

@Minster2012 glad you manage to avoid people last night. Nothing more draining when you just want a quiet one. On the sex, I'd say I'm quite dry too despite the seemingly litres of discharge that pregnancy has gifted me 🙈

@Vil10 annoying on the flight 😩 I wonder if it wasn't very full or something? Extra days sounds fab though if price is good. We've been looking for next year, only airline with flights so far in advance are Jet2 but all flight times rubbish which not fancying with a then 1 and 5 year old

@DKDK123 same as me then 29th April 😬 but your 5 days left sounds more inviting, I have 16 working days left to work and writing it down sounds scary! That seems daft about the no chargers policy. If any comfort, DD is kinda the same as your DS, not so much tantrums but everything is just emotional for her right now and the mildest inconvenience sets her off 🙈 she'll cry for no reason and when we ask her what's the matter she says she doesn't know... anyone would think she was the pregnant one 😂 I'm sure it's just a phase and as they've both seemed very happy to be becoming big siblings we'll have nothing to worry about in a few months time 🤞🏼

@Juno231 definitely early for leaking but also completely normal, hopefully it's a good sign milk will come in early. Maybe no correlation but I never leaked and haven't this time and took a while for milk to come in

Husband got the supplies in for the thrush so feeling a bit better 🙈 Just got back from taking DD to another soft play party. DH has sorted the fire and instructed us to chill on the sofa in our comfies with a film. His alterior motive is watching football in peace in the kitchen but he is cooking and having a beer which I'm jealous of

Minster2012 · 03/04/2022 14:45

Oh yes @DKDK123 bless DS now it's so tough for them, I've got lots of crafts stuff in & sticker books & jigsaws that we can do on the table, I try and "leave out" a couple of games/books/things on the kitchen table that can be discovered when we need quiet moments & it's then nice for you to spend time together

@bez91 I think that sounds great for both DH & you getting time to chill, I know what you mean though on the beer, I was like @feliznavidad2 said about the red wine with steak last night I was MASSIVELY envious of DH & his lovely glass. 16 days left crikey!!!

Oh @Lexber I've also got done of those jelly pots with fruit in as I thought they might be refreshing

Kate105 · 03/04/2022 16:53

I leaked v early @Juno231 and had allllllll the milk so it's probably a good sign... bloody annoying though 😂 can I recommend some "dry feel" pads? I started on the little lamb bamboo ones, which are really absorbant but feel really icky when they get damp. These ones are pricey but IMO so, so worth it.

www.thewashablenappy.co.uk/real-nappy-accessories/motherease-stay-dry-breast-pads/

Don't forget savoury snacks lads! Crisps, cheesy crackers and rice cakes kept me going 💪🏻

DKDK123 · 03/04/2022 18:17

@feliznavidad2 he's 4 so it is to be expected tho I was thinking it would happen more once the baby's here but I think its the changes in me and not being able to run about and play that he's frustrated with. He's also starting school after the summer holidays and nursery have been starting to prepare them for their graduation learning songs and stuff so a lot of big changes going on for him just now at once. Glad your starting to improve on the covid front, hopefully the thrush will also clear quickly once you're off the antibiotics.

@juno231 actually slightly jealous on the leaky nips front, means your boobs are raring to go and can't wait to have a baby to feed, hopefully if they're prepping this early it means you'll have a great supply from the get go, I'm really hoping mine play ball this time 🤞 Do you know when you'll hear back about the offers you put in?

@minster2012 I'm well impressed you still have a sex drive and comfortable sex (even if dry), its like an olympic sport just rolling over in bed at the moment, sex is definitely out of the window 🤣

@paintfairy happy big milestone day 🥳

@lexber hopefully you have a labour as quick as your friends was, how fab would that be! 🤞 Well done on still being the cool man, DH and I were just talking today about ages and I said I'll be 40 in 2years, I remember when I was younger thinking 40 was ancient, but now I'm approaching it and still don't feel like a proper grown up, I wonder at what age you feel like you're an actual grown up 🤔 (well in mind anyways, my body is definitely telling me I'm no spring chicken anymore 😂). On the snack front I'm usually a choc person but as the hospitals are so hot they're likely to melt so I'd say go more crisps/pretzels (nuts but check your hospitals policy on bringing them) or gummy/boiled sweets to snack on if you need a sugar hit. We're going to pack sandwiches and a Flask of coffee for DH too as our hospital canteen is closed for now.

@bez91 aww hope DD settles soon too, its a lot for them to get their heads round even when they are so excited about having a sibling isn't it, little people with big emotions 🥺

Actually had a lovely day with DS today but DH was off work so he could do all the rough and tumble play that DS loves then I was there for all the quiet and snuggles so DS was content and it didn't feel like a battleground today so we took him out for dinner since he's been so good. He's got a 2 day sleepover at my mums next week top so he'll love that getting fussed over and he did say to me I can't wait for my sleepover at Gran and Papas as they can play with me properly and you can't just now, but I don't want to stay forever just a couple of days sleepover then I can come stay with you again.......the other day he told me he was leaving forever as he didn't want to stay with me anymore (and this is 4, God help me in the teenage years!) so that's progress 😂

Minster2012 · 03/04/2022 20:27

Ah perfect @Kate105 going on the list, pads & the snacks!

@DKDK123 OMG I said to DH the other week "you are 40 next year" & he was like eh I'm 38 now! Yep but 39 this year so 40 next whereas I am the year after cos I'm a summer baby 😂 it's def a win going from he's leaving home to he wants to come back and stay with you. Mind you I regularly get told (like last night when it was my turn to put him to bed) "but I don't like you mummy. I like daddy more. I don't love you I only love daddy" I get that a lot & it breaks my heart ❤️ he does say "I love you mummy" a lot the rest of the time but I know where I come in the pecking order 😩. Yes the sex is still great though I also have problems rolling over I seem to get over it (or on it or under it!) at least twice a week since we were told we could! It makes me feel sexy too which helps

Oooo pretzels great shout!!

Minster2012 · 04/04/2022 08:09

@larrythelizard is it your 20week scan today 🤞🏻🤞🏻

DKDK123 · 04/04/2022 11:37

@Minster2012 it's so hard not to take it to heart when they're that young and say things like that. And the best thing is they break your heart then 10mins later they've forgotten and are telling you you're the best mum ever and how much they love you oblivious to their cutting words earlier 🙈

I know youre nervous so hand hold for your scan today @larrythelizard, enjoy seeing your wee bubs wriggling about on the screen again 💕

I'm in for another scan, tests and appointment with the consultant after lunch today too so I dropped DS off at nursery and I've laid on my bed listening to podcasts and music afraid to move till my appointment 😂 I know they're just waiting for the slightest sign of pre-eclampsia creeping in again to whisk me into hospital and keep me captured till DDday so I'm not moving a muscle so my blood pressure and heart rate can't go up, drinking loads of water and putting on meditation music channelling the inner zen (only till this appointment is over with then it'll be full steam ahead again 😂). I will need to let them know I've been getting more and more dizzy spells this week, I wont deliberately hide things from them, but if I can keep everything else stable then hopefully they'll continue with just the monitoring and staying at home 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Minster2012 · 04/04/2022 12:36

That's a very good idea on the lying down @DKDK123 you stay there!

I'm sat waiting in the day unit. Got here about 10. Soooo bored & think I could genuinely fall asleep. I've been getting dizzy ness too over the past week & a new thing for over the weekend & now is a shooting pain in my left buttock, dr Google says it's a trapped nerve. Amazing not 😂

BellatrixK · 04/04/2022 13:19

@larrythelizard here also to support you through your scan. xx

Oh no! Ladies, look after yourself. I think the zen/relaxation might be a good idea going forward too @DKDK123. Look after yourself! Same to you @Minster2012!

I am convinced that I have a UTI. I wasn’t teaching this afternoon, so I managed to get an appointment to get my wee tested. Not going to lie, anything going wrong is terrifying me this week. Trying to channel some zen until Thursday!

kaylsd · 04/04/2022 14:27

@larrythelizard sending a hand to hold for your scan, I know the scan anxiety feeling all to well but hopefully will ease when you see your little bubs on that screen! Xx
