I'm so naughty - but everyone keeps asking if we have names and we don't so...
seen as the girls are both As let's see if anyone questions us! 🤣🤣🤣

Minsters Side Car - Thread 7 - annoying neighbours, second hand bargains and how many sleep suits should we buy again?!
Lexber · 01/04/2022 08:46

I don't think they will come today, and if they do then my mums got some freaky shit going off 🤣🤣🤣

Minster2012 · 01/04/2022 08:56

@Lexber love it but be careful else those names will stick 😂

kaylsd · 01/04/2022 08:59

@lexber hopefully you have an amazing last day at work today darling then it’s officially on the countdown time eeeekkk!!
@vil10 thank you darling & I hope so too darling but it’s out of my hands so fingers and toes crossed they seem to resolve on themselves! & thank you about the scan pic, the DH family’s button nose appears slightly evident on the scan I think 😍 my nursery colour is Egyptian cotton by dulux, I love it!
@paintfairy & @vil10 I’m hoping as things change once again from covid today so will the regulations on it all in hospitals, the old trust I used to work with now doesn’t require for visitors to show evidence of lateral flow tests and continued visiting which worries me yet the trust im choosing for baby and also work in does closed visiting back down in February as cases were getting too high but maternity is just one person the same person throughout with no time limit to leave until babies here then it goes visiting from 8-8 🙈
@minster2012 maybe the tenna pants could be a positive for your hospital bag? I know some people opt for them over pads :) every silver lining and that? Btw you looked stunning on your meal out yesterday! Good luck with your health visitor appointment today :) hopefully you get a nice one!
@larrythelizard I think your right there darling being the last of the summer babies, can we hide together back of the bus behind a seat although I doubt if we will be able to get up smoothly as our pregnancy goes along? 🤣🤣🤣🤨 they didn’t do anything after the scan today :) at 12 weeks I had MW follow up just for a well-being check and review my bloods from my booking appointment at MW in my GP, but yesterday she said we would only send you onto midwife if there’s a concern with your scan or baby or requiring follow up consultant review based on todays scan but because all is well I was free to go which was grateful about because it started snowing on and off all day 😩🙈
@2020 I cannot wait for the next intake of bus babies to be here just to see them and here the stories of their birth 😍 with no filter of course we know it’s not all rainbows and smiles 🤣🙈
@bez91 I still get scan anxiety to this day it’s so bizzare thank you so much! This thread is deffo a blessing the support is unreal and it just makes me so happy how throughout the start even before the pregnancy how even in the toughest times a helping hand was there - swear this isn’t a emotional pregnant lady feeling overwhelmed 😩🥺 I’m hoping more trusts will adapt similar techniques to avoid patient delays and flow since bojo wants us to live with it! Fingers and toes crossed everything goes well with your growth scan 😘😘😘
@inkypaper how exciting that you have your appointment with your MW and they’ve accommodated you the way they have :)! I hope you have a friendly one, you are aloud to blame things now on baby brain so don’t worry about the mince mess up ;)
@feliznavidad2 awww I hope you feel better soon darling! It took me to day 4/5 to start to feel a bit better and less symptoms and negatives on flow started from day 5, I’m just more fatigued than anything with it and I do sound a little bit more croaky but the nose symptoms have gone n so has the cough so fingers and toes crossed it’ll be on your way out of your system too! How cute is your neighbour getting your prescriptions, my neighbour is anti covid / anti vac so I don’t think he’d be as helpful -.-
@Franklydear lovely blanket hunny you are so talented xx

Anyone watched bridgerton series 2? I've watched it in my covid isolation as there was little else to do and was disappointed with it 🥺

larrythelizard · 01/04/2022 09:05

Haha careful no one buys you personalised stuff @Lexber!!

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 01/04/2022 09:08

@Lexber 😂 😂 you're a scamp!

Minster2012 · 01/04/2022 09:12

@kaylsd oh yes that's what I meant on the tena pants, it's on my list to buy for hospital bag 😂

Minster2012 · 01/04/2022 09:13

And my MIL last night was once again fishing for names from us 🙄and making comments about others we know had/having baby's & their names so I was like "& that's why we don't tell you in advance 😂"

kaylsd · 01/04/2022 09:19

@Minster2012 bonus bargain then! My MIL was also nudging to know our names yesterday maybe we should follow suit with @Lexber and see if they fall for anything this morning? ;)

The lovely sonographer yesterday was asking our baby names which we told her but we asked has she heard anything particularly unusual this week? She's heard ladasha for a girl (the mum and dad wanted the babies name as la-a but the register office won't allow symbols in names 🤣🤣🤣🤣) and mango for a boy 👀

larrythelizard · 01/04/2022 09:48

Hmm we haven't really thought about names yet (I mean I have a list on the go but we haven't discussed it seriously), perhaps I'll add mango to it @kaylsd it is my favourite fruit after all!!

People are nosy and rude @Minster2012. Fact. Can you not just tell her you're naming baby girl after your mum 😂😂😂

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 01/04/2022 12:23

Good idea @larrythelizard I should tell MIL that it's going to be called Aurora which was the name my SIL wanted for a girl which 3 years later she still keeps saying how much she hates if 😂, well seeing as it wasn't used 🤔

Health visitor came, late. And didn't stay long, I couldn't decide if she was nice & being efficient or a bit short but was fine, she was very much "you've done it before, it's easy right?" Errr yeah I'm sure it will come flooding back to us 😂

paintfairy · 01/04/2022 13:42

@kaylsd a covid scan room? That's pretty efficient! Wonder if the staff volunteer who is working in it. 🤣 As for the poor babies getting landed with awful names, seems cruel! Clearly they'll get picked on.
@2020mission Yes I think people struggling through their partner not being able to visit much is the main issue! It seems really unfair. And Matthew peeing on his own face. 🤣🤣🤣 Poor boy.
@feliznavidad2 I'm actually not too bad at all. I'm hoping it's definitely on its way out though and not going to just come back when I don't expect it. I hope you feel better soon.
@Lexber sounds a good let day for you. I hope it goes well! And no babies yet please. 🤣 Especially not ones called that. 🤭
@Minster2012 yes let MIL think you are calling her something else. 🤣 It really annoys me that people are so impatient? Just wait until you are told! Glad the HV appointment went OK. I dunno if we get that, i hope not! 🤣

I feel better today. Mostly probably just because I actually managed some sleep. Not perfect but better than the zero from other nights this week. Still staring at my stomach. 🤣 I'm also getting aware that time is ticking and I feel like there are still a billion things to buy. All hospital bag type stuff, and loads of basic things. @Vil10 I've been trying to do the same and at least work out what I want, even if I am not getting it yet, so I'm not wasting time later! There's sometimes too many options. 🤷‍♀️

BellatrixK · 01/04/2022 16:17

@InkyPaper great news about the booking in app and scan. Did you get each one separately? I’ve got a booking in apparently for when I’m 10+6, but no news on the scan yet. It seems to suggest that I’ll get it after on the letter. its quickly after!

@Franklydear wow! That blanket is spectacular!!

@Lexber hahaha! I love that ‘announcement’. You know so many people are reading it, believing it and gossiping about it! Love it! I would love it if your mum’s prediction came true…unless it’s too early, then the twins can stay put! Also, I hope your last day of going well, it sounds like a lovely day.

@kaylsd I’m so with you. Honestly, the amount of things I tell DH that I’ve learnt on here. This bus is a godsend! Is the sexy Duke in Bridgerton season 2? I thought he wasn’t, which put me off it!

@Minster2012 take a leaf out of leavers book and start winding MIL up. Why are people so impatient?!

@paintfairy glad that you’re feeling better. I’m sure that you’ll get there with the stuff. You have got quite a bit already and what I’m learning from the bus is that as long as we have Amazon Prime then we’ll be fine!

So, Ofsted are gone. It seemed to go really well. And in all that drama more days have passed, so there’s now only 6 days until the scan! Whoop! I’m 7+1 today and starting to really hope!

larrythelizard · 01/04/2022 16:39

It's just a risk assessment really isn't it @Minster2012 and you clearly pose no risk?!

Sleep always helps @paintfairy. Also there's ages to get stuff, I really wouldn't worry, I didn't start shopping until I was over 6 months with DS as I was too anxious to and I got it all in plenty of time.

Well done on ofsted @BellatrixK and whoop on the getting to less than 7 days for scan!

I amused myself by telling my colleague it was his fault I was pregnant earlier (I told him and our boss that I probably wanted another kid but no immediate plans the day before my BFP in Nov). He roared with laughter!

Minster2012 · 01/04/2022 17:17

@paintfairy I've only started buying for my hospital bag 2 weeks ago but I had a list so that made me feel better. I've only got to buy magazines & food now & put in my clothes, DH's clothes & laptop so you've got time but making lists will help! What are you struggling to decide?

@BellatrixK 6 days! That's close 😊and pleased ofsted over too! At My booking in appointment the midwife then triggered the scan then it came quickly & I think a few ppl were similar

Bought a couple more things for hospital bag & nursery today. Spent WAY too much time standing on my feet & my back is killing me. Also found out my mum has covid so that's my childcare for Monday's sitting around in the day unit gone. MIL to the rescue. How ppl cope with more than one child with no support is beyond me

Lexber · 01/04/2022 18:16

Hahaha @larrythelizard brilliant 🤣🤣 I'm still pregnant 🎉

Don't worry @paintfairy that will definitely not be on our baby name lists, when it comes to names I have a couple of ticks it has to have - not too long as we are having 2 middle family names, nothing that will cause stress with spelling/pronouncing.. so simple, possibly old fashioned and not too popular.

@BellatrixK the thought of people talking about it makes me laugh- you shouldn't believe everything you read esp on Fb! 🤣🤣🤣 babies are 34+2 today and could come at anytime and as much as I've had enough I'm hoping they stay put longer - I'm sucking it up for them ❤️

@Minster2012 My hospital bags have been ready (kind of) weeks because I was told to have them ready by 30 weeks 😬 but I still have snacks to buy, and add in normal clothes when the time comes then pick up the essentials- mat notes, charger, etc
I've downloaded several series on Netflix as the wifi in my hospital is awful!! And I could be in a while..
I don't know how id have coped with so many appointments if the girls were younger!! I have another Wednesday 🤦🏽‍♀️

Last day at work went fast and was lovely!! Cakes in the morning, hospital over lunch and bingo in the afternoon- which I won a line and 2 lines and was only 1 number off the full house 🤣🤣 I felt guilty at the prospect of winning all 3!! And we have raised quite a bit over the offices in the uk for Ukraine 🇺🇦 plus the MD emailed telling us this afternoon that the company will match the donations which is pretty awesome of them!

I finished just before 5, after being told to go home 🤣🤣 I had a lovely e-card with some
Amusing messages in and a beautiful big bunch of flowers 💐 plus they gave me a card with some money in as they didn't know what I wanted/needed so told me to treat myself. I'm so lucky to work at such a brilliant work place! We have a finance meal (all 10 of us) next Friday as one member is retiring next week, one is leaving next week and I've gone on maternity and my bosses joked if I don't make it they're sharing my pre ordered meal out as the starter 🤣 I've told them if I'm in hospital someone had better bloody bring it me!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Scan went great today, blood flow is all good and babies active and happy!
Wednesday (35 weeks) is my growth scan, and probably booking my 36 week induction.. I have the HV coming on Thursday morning as well. So much for my relaxation week 🤦🏽‍♀️

Franklydear · 01/04/2022 18:18

I’ll read later, stupid update, of course the vaccination centre did not have the right vaccine and I changed work and left school early with a 4 hours round trip for no reason, and noooo no they cannot give the over 12s dose because he is not 12 until the first week of may, and then will have to come here and chance it 8 weeks after that, it might be a clinic tomorrow , or not, and we could do aaaaall of this again, or, or, revolutionary I know, I can just wait until his birthday and use our local vaccination centre when I may well like it, cf says if I really want to wait, we’ll, I’ve been waiting since November so 4 more weeks, 2 of those We’ll be abroad, won’t make any difference other than make my life easier, I didn’t, but I was tempted to ask if I can book the day of his birthday any time, cos he was born at 12.22 so maybe in the morning still qualifies for the children one only, seeing it makes such an enormous difference, motherfuckers

Lexber · 01/04/2022 18:20

@bez91 I asked today about what happens with partners at our hospital if I go into labour naturally before induction or I'm induced and basically they can be there the whole time and stay over. But it has to be the same person - 1 designated birth partner.

I was surprised tbh as I expected them to have set times etc but no, they can come as and when. She did say that as induction can take days sometimes a lot of women send the man home until labour kicks in so they can both sleep etc, and obviously once babies are here dad can stay but again they recommend him going home to get sleep etc.
Hope that helps, oh and no parking charges yet for is still. I saw the hospital post about it on Fb yesterday that they're leaving it as is right now and looking to make a decision at a later date

bez91 · 01/04/2022 19:50

Glad they finally fit you in @InkyPaper at least it's not too much further for you to travel!

@Lexber I met my actual MW for the first time a couple of weeks ago she's called Victoria. I've had everyone else in between I think. Glad your last day went well and the hospital app 👍🏼 try and rest up best you can now. Ahh great that's good news, I wouldn't want DH to stay unless needed and as long as we're ok as he'd want to be there when DD got up in the morning to tell her but it's fab it's not limited, I had a feeling that would be the case as compared to other trusts they have seemed better through the pandemic for maternity care with partners and through my multiple trips to EPU over the last 2 years. Good on parking too 🥳 will it be next week they give you a plan of attack then for possible induction?

@Minster2012 health visitor oooh she sounds one that likes to keep you on your toes if you didn't know how to take her 😆
I told DD tonight that a lady (the HV) is coming on Monday to talk to mummy about the baby coming. I think she thinks that baby is actually coming on Monday, maybe thinks that's the HV is the stalk who delivers babies or something 😆
Laptop for DH for hospital bag? I bought my DH an expensive football magazine for the hospital and he's still pissed off he didn't get to read past page 3 before DD arrived and then never got to finish it - could be a quick one 😉

@kaylsd oooh Egyptian cotton is lovely, we have a couple of rooms which have it on at least one wall 😊 the scanxiety is weird, it teetered off but it's been 4 week since my last scan when I was on 2 weekly so it feels long, definitely the best bus to be on with lots of supportive ladies 🥰 Mango? Noooo that's got to be a joke!

@larrythelizard hope you got your meal out although boooo to the no champagne. I said to DH today I actually am missing having a drink now, never bothered before or with DD and I'm not a big drinker at all but the non alcoholic stuff just isn't the same

Kate105 · 01/04/2022 19:54

Good shout @Lexber actually that's another thing to check, those of you going in soon! Our hospital wifi blocks streaming 🙄 so I could only watch/listen to stuff I'd already downloaded onto my iPad/phone. I was devastated because I went in on a Tuesday afternoon, fully anticipated watching Bake Off that night and couldn't actually watch it until I got home on the Sunday 😂🙈

Glad you had a nice last day though! Sounds ace!

@Franklydear what a shitter, hope you're ok!

Well i don't want to sound paranoid, but I think Facebook is trying to break up my marriage 😂 got this suggested article flagged up and I read it and now I'm just furious at H... he's not going to know what hits him when he gets home 😂😂😂 it has hit a nerve because I definitely carry the mental load at home anyway, but it's crunch time now H is lambing (on top of his full time job) because I am doing EVERYTHING at home plus PTSD duties.

2020mission · 01/04/2022 20:05

I'm sorry but does anyone else see what I do in that URL Kate shared 😂 not the best domain name!

Franklydear · 01/04/2022 20:05

@Kate105 ok, but pissed off, what a waste of time today was, still not clear when he can get his vaccination

Kate105 · 01/04/2022 20:20

HAAAAAAAA @2020mission that's cheered me up a bit! 😂😂😂

Minster2012 · 01/04/2022 20:33

I'm not surprised your bag was packed @Lexber twins have a habit of coming early!! You are finished now yeyyyyyyyy & blatebtlybthe bingo queen 👑 ABD that's excellent about the visiting too, my friend says our hospital are letting her hubby stay basically all day so I'm hopeful it will still be the same 🤞🏻I def need to download stuff too @Kate105 my area is poor. I was thinking do what @larrythelizard suggested & watch all silent witness but I fear it might be a bit heavy 😳

@bez91 that's funny about the football mag, I mean a laptop for me to watch stuff, seeing as DS stole my iPad I don't have anything smaller so not for DH no for me! Maybe the HV will bring a baby for you! I think I'm gonna be better with a direct & efficient HV than one who lectures or prattles on?!

@2020mission well done for spotting that weird address in the link def bizarre, but you are in IT if I remember right? So the rest of us just clicked on it 😂@Kate105 I've read a similar one & have pointed out to DH he's screwed if I actually die as he literally has no idea when the house insurance is due, when jabs are due, how things like dentist appointments happen for DS, but I've made my peace with it

@Franklydear that's so frustrating. He doesn't need to be vaccinated to go on holiday does he?

Franklydear · 01/04/2022 20:53

@Minster2012 not for this one, but when he turns 12 he will, we’re not planning to go again till Xmas, kinda foreseen this shitshow, but I so not wanted to be right, next nhs England who calls to ask why he’s not vaccinated yet will get it, yes they did, response: cos of your incompetence, bloody do it already
