there called a gender scan hate to break it to you

They're not, actually. My niece went for her 20 week scan and she was asked if she wanted to find out the sex. It's called a 20 week scan, not a gender scan.

My last scan was called a gender scan by my midwife and sonographer

Good god @NoCis why are you still pushing this? It's a thread on the pregnancy board, there are plenty of other places on MN, including one dedicated one, where you can talk about your views on gender/sex, it's actually quite mean bringing this discussion to a happy thread where OP is looking forward to her scan tomorrow and wanted to share the moment with others.

If you get a private scan they call them gender and reassurance scans. It just looks better on the literature than 'sex scan' which I think is a fetish club in Berlin Grin

How exciting OP. Enjoy.

And ignore the pedantic word police.

They are in any private scan place I've seen. Both of mine were called "gender and well-being scans". A lot of people book privately as they can find out at 16 weeks instead of 20 weeks

I had this same response months back when I was finding out the gender of my boy. It's almost like they DEMAND we feed into their ludicrous ideology that you can actually change your gender, rather than just wear different clothes and have surgery.

Please ignore, I did. And I hope you get your little girl but if not, you're in the same boat as me with (almost) two boys! Congrats either way OP

Good luck for your scan tomorrow OP!

Honestly there is no point in even rising to these absolute busies on here.

Everybody I know calls it a gender scan. Window to the womb calls it a gender scan. In fact - google gender scan and you'll see the results for yourself!

Let the poor woman be happy about finding out the gender sex of her baby.
And to the other miseries who say 'why not wait for a surprise' every baby is a surprise. Finding out early is a surprise in that moment.

Can everybody unclench and if you're not interested in pregnancy threads and want to come here and spout this pointless drama, go elsewhere

Enjoy your scan tomorrow OP!

FACT: Sex and gender are different things, and you won't be finding out the gender tomorrow.

I'm amazed this bunfight has been left standing tbh.
