Finding out gender tomorrow

So exited but nervous about finding out sex tomorrow anyone else in same boat :)?? I have a boy already and would love a girl but just want a healthy baby thats all that matters! :)

Hi all, this is a thread in the pregnancy section that's getting pretty badly derailed. We've deleted some derails and personal attacks - hopefully things will get back on track now but if it continues we'll have to take the thread down.

Gender is a sociocultural concept. I think some people do decide that in utero that their aim will be to raise their children with as stereotypical gender norms for their culture as possible so they buy everything blue and trucks for boys and everything pink and sparkly for girls. At their gender reveals, they use pinks and blues and stereotypical gender norms. Their girls will get dolls and princesses and pinks and purples and bows and glitter and their boys will get blues and greens and trucks and dinosaurs and sports etc.

For these people, it is a gender reveal - it is a reveal of how they intend to try and entrench stereotypical gender norms in their child to meet the idea of how a male or female child should act and what they should or shouldn't like.

For others, it is finding out sex - if the baby will be male or female. And if their girl ends up liking trucks or blue or their boy ends up liking pink or dolls then they are fine with that.

For all of you getting onto this poor women because she used the word gender need to get a life.. if some asked me what my children were I would happily say I have 2 girls and a boy. My children know there identity. For the people that change there gender that's down to them however they feel comfortable. But to say something about a women who is excited about knowing what she is having is a joke

Congratulations and good luck!! I have my 'gender scan' booked for Saturday which I'm really excited for!
It's good to be able to plan and personalise their new things ready for their arrival!
