So exited but nervous about finding out sex tomorrow anyone else in same boat :)?? I have a boy already and would love a girl but just want a healthy baby thats all that matters! :)

I sometimes look at these "gender reveal" threads and do wonder at the posters lazy casual use of language. OP, it's not about being "offended" - if you think that's the case, console yourself with the possibility that your son may change his gender in the future and you will have a girl after all.

I’m not offended at all by the word gender but you won’t be finding that out tomorrow but you will probably find out the sex though. I hope you get what you want if you have a preference and that all is ok with you both

Interesting... you instantly picked up on the OP's use of the word 'gender' (which was only used in the title and not the main description, by the way) and casually ignored the fact that she used the word 'exited' instead of 'excited'.

I do firmly believe that some people spend hours browsing MN just for the sole purpose of bringing other women down.

Personally I couldn't give a flying fuck if people use 'gender' rather than 'sex'. We're talking about unborn babies here whose sex is defined but whose gender is not... however, if somebody asked what gender my child is, I would tell them she is female. Because she is. She is two years old and does not have the capacity to decide that for herself.

You presumably don’t say “leg” when you mean “arm”, or “car” when you mean “bus”. This is no different.

If it doesn’t matter try changing your gender marker on your NHS record to make and see if you get invited for smear tests.

@squiff70 exactly. And who cares what word they use, even if it's incorrect. Let people be excited at what is a very exciting time in their life! Obviously not happy in their own life to bother replying just to say 'you're wrong!'

It didn't used to matter if you used gender rather than sex as no one was trying to impose multiple genders on binary sex but it does these days and if you have a girl perhaps you will be bothered about her rights as a female.
