@Leibee87 oh the Mam guilt would be too much if I bought one from the shop, I’m guna bake it tonight and decorate it tomorrow night, so doing it in two steps but still exhausted even thinking about it!

@WinterBaby131 it’s rough isn’t it!! You’re probably better after lunch because food strangely helps. It’s such a tough cycle. You don’t wAnt to eat because you feel sick but if you don’t eat it comes ten times worse. I lost a stone in my first trimester during my first pregnancy. No actual vomiting just constant nausea.

I’ve got a funeral next Thursday and it’s a 2 hour drive each way, no idea how I’m going to manage that. Just guna have to see how I am nearer the time but no one knows I’m pregnant, wanted to wait til 8 weeks and get a scan but may have to tell people early now so they understand :(
I think I need to tell me mum anyways, i need the support ! Just been bad timing the last few weeks, then this weekend it’s my daughters bday and I don’t want to take away from that, oh I don’t know, just ranting again, sorry!

Diamondbabe · 24/02/2022 08:52

@WinterBaby131 have you thought about speaking to someone about your birth it was very traumatic? Did you do hypnobirthing? I did and it was amazing. Really helped me and I'll definitely be doing it again

Hi all hope you're all feeling ok xx

Is anyone else experiencing insomnia?! I've always been a great sleeper but am finding it impossible to go to sleep and am up all through the night feeling like I've had ten coffees..not sure if it's just my nerves or a symptom!

Hope42022 · 24/02/2022 10:20

@livvy96 I’ve not had problems dropping off to sleep but a number of time I have woken at 2am and not been able to go back to sleep for the rest of the night. It doesn’t really help with my general exhaustion where I feel knackered just waking up after 9 solid hours!

Edmarie · 24/02/2022 10:43

@Mamamoo1234 I've just been trying to catch up and saw your post about bleeding after sex - I had the same thing last weekend!
Of course I was totally freaking out, but for once google actually made me feel better. I think it could be to do with the cervix being more sensitive during pregnancy.
I'm the same as you, the bleeding didn't last long and I had no pain. So I think it's ok... Just scary.

Also I had constipation at first and started putting ground linseed into my food which helped. Now I feel sick and I can't stomach it, but the constipation seems to have gone anyway thank god.

Nikki037297 · 24/02/2022 11:34

So Iv got covid everyone! Feeling tired. Very chest. Almost like a heavy cold. Can’t smell or taste. Thankfully no high temp. Besides this and my morning sickness on top but thankfully it is better than it was I hope my body is being good to me and giving me an easy ride while I’m poorly.
Anyone else got covid? I read it’s because your immune systems plummet during pregnancy which would explain why Iv never caught it until now I guess

Sorry to hear that, hopefully it's mild for you, I think for most people it is now. I agree it's the immune system thing, last time I was pregnant I got shingles of all things !
Leibee87 · 24/02/2022 11:53

Oh no @Nikki037297 hope you feel better soon. Just make sure you report to midwife as it means your blood clot risk might increase.

Changednamesorry · 24/02/2022 12:22

@Mamamoo1234 yes very very similar! I was a lot more anxious with the first two I feel quite calm this time round. How about you? I can't quite believe it! Very excited though 🙂

livvy96 · 24/02/2022 14:31

@Hope42022 gosh 2am poor you!! I had the same today at 4.30 and am nodding off at my desk at work, glad I'm not the only one!

Nikki037297 · 24/02/2022 16:01

Thank you @thunderonlyhappenswhenits @Leibee87

Is anyone not able to suddenly drink fruit juice? Iv just drank a small bottle of orange juice and oh my I feel ill!! Ache right across the top of my stomach I’m going to throw up there is no doubt about that! It also happened a week ago I thought it was a one off! Never had a problem with juices before

ItWillBeFridaySoon · 24/02/2022 16:32

@Nikki037297 sorry to hear about you getting Covid. Not sure about fruit juice but I've found any drink makes me feel unwell so I've just been managing sips - and have settled on warm water with lots of lemon which seems to be ok.

1stTimeTina · 24/02/2022 16:41

@Nikki037297 oh nah I’m loving a bit of fresh orange at the moment, that and ice cold water is all I can stomach! Bye bye tea

BH1926 · 24/02/2022 18:51

@Nikki037297 oh no! Sorry to hear that. Hopefully your symptoms aren't too bad for you ❤️

Margo34 · 24/02/2022 19:02

@1stTimeTina @nikki037297 Warm orange juice is my thing at the moment, didn't think it was a thing, decided to try it when I wanted a warm drink but not tea or hot coffee or hot choc etc and yep....it's a thing and I want that thing.

Is this a pregnancy thing or a "my taste is a bit weird" thing? 🤣

Mamamoo1234 · 24/02/2022 19:55

@Edmarie yeh we were straight on google too and it was surprisingly helpful! We still haven’t had the nerve to try again since tho Confused
I haven’t heard of linseed before - I’ll look it up.

@Changednamesorry
I’ve been quite chilled really too. I was a wreck with my last one so I promised myself that I’d be calm this time. My first 2 were with my ex husband but this baby is with my new boyfriend and I can tell that he’s getting so excited about it all. I think the more excited he gets, the more anxious I am that things go well. All this stuff on the news atm hasn’t helped my nerves tho.

girlmummy25 · 24/02/2022 23:06

@Nikki037297 i dont currently have covid but had it at 5wks, had spotting then too and thought I was sure it made me miscarry even though I didnt feel too ill. Well im now 8wk2days and baby is all good with heartbeat!
Hope your feeling ok x

WinterBaby131 · 24/02/2022 23:06

@1stTimeTina
Does sound like you got a lot on. Tell your mum, let her spoil you and fuss over you.
I've been wanting to tell my sisters for a while but the timing always clashes with someones birthday or baby shower.

@Diamondbabe no, I've never really spoken about it, it's only been recently out of sheer frustration when people have constantly asked when am I going to have another as my son needs a sibling, that I've struggled to keep my mouth shut and said do you actually know what I went through with my son.

Tbh I dont think I'd really know where to start if I did want to talk about it. Might wait and see if the topic crops up when I start having my midwife appointments. No, didn't do hypnobirthing, I remember it being mentioned when I had my son, will look into it again

Diamondbabe · 25/02/2022 06:55

@WinterBaby131 you can do a thing called birth reflections at the hospital where they go through your notes and what happened and answer any questions etc you have. I've had a few friends who have done it and it's made a massive difference to them.

I would definitely look at getting some help and mentioning this at appointments as you don't want to be triggered this time. If you don't even feel you can talk about it that sounds to me like you had a tough time and maybe talking to someone would help.

Hypnobirthing was brilliant and I'd really advise you to do it this time round :) x

JammieQueen · 25/02/2022 07:15

@Dorset555 I’m so happy to hear that things were not bad as feared. You must be emotionally drained! Hope that you’re able to relax a bit now. Though I know this is easier said than done.
@FirstBabyNerves We are both older, I’m 41, about to turn 42 in April. I definitely think that it is more nerve racking at our age as you tend to worry more due to the perceived increased risks. Hopefully we will both be at stage where we can relax and start to enjoy the experience soon!
@Leibee87 I’m hoping that time does fly! I’m so busy with work so I’m glad for that distraction in the meantime. I think you’re a couple of weeks ahead of me? How are you feeling? I hope your sickness has eased off a bit.
@thunderonlyhappenswhenits Thanks for the well wishes. I’m trying to be a bit more positive as worrying is not going to change anything so I’m just keeping busy and taking one day at a time. How are your hormones? I feel like I’ve been in PMT mode a bit this week too! I think mine is more a mix of anxiety regarding the sac and post holiday blues.

Leibee87 · 25/02/2022 07:29

@JammieQueen I was as sick as a dog Wednesday then yesterday barely anything. Not going to panic as know it fluctuates cause this happened last week too lol.

1stTimeTina · 25/02/2022 07:37

@WinterBaby131 I told my mum yesterday, feels like such a relief! I feel you on the traumatic birth, I never thought I’d be able to do this again but here we are. What helped me was reading through my hospital notes and googling all the words I didn’t understand, really helped me understand and absorb what I actually went through, and almost justify the pain I felt too xxx

Changednamesorry · 25/02/2022 08:14

@Margo34 warm orange juice ..... A new on one me! Grin
I've not tried it and not sure I will haha. With my first 2 sons I was obsessed with salt. Like literally wanted to eat it by the tablespoon, on its own. I did it a couple of times.but had to force myself not to as obviously that's not good for you!!!!! I'm hoping this time not to get that craving as it makes you look crazy! It was down to low blood pressure I think though, I was sometimes like 85/45 or something. Had first midwife visit yesterday and I was at 95/61 so let's hope it stays there so I don't turn into the salt monster again 🤣

Leibee87 · 25/02/2022 08:57

@Changednamesorry salty foods have definitely been my thing too. I don't like orange Juice normally but it was my first sign and now oj and lemonade is my thing. So weird. Like I didn't really like /go for crisps was always a sweet rather than savory girl but now the idea of chocolate and sugar makes my stomach tighten.
