Anyone else super anxious atm? My last pregnancy happened just before covid started hitting the news, so most of that was spent just worrying about someone I know dying or something happening to my baby. This time it's the war in Ukraine. Just feeling super sad for this world we live in. Trying to be positive but also feeling guilty for my life when others are losing their homes & being separated from their families, and worse. I don't know, mixed bag of emotions and feelings today. Sorry for the heavy post.

Hope42022 · 25/02/2022 11:40

@HermioneGr I feel the same! I think it’s a mixture of hormones, tiredness and just generally being fed up with one international disaster after another just when we were all hoping to get back to normal. I am a big planner and feel all out of whack at the moment as I’ve no idea what the world will be like in the next few months let alone how life will change brining a baby into the world. Like you say, I know I should count my blessings but I am definitely throwing myself a bit of a pity party.

Lap91 · 25/02/2022 13:49

Has anyone else found sickness to be intermittent? Im 8+4, been feeling nauseous for around two weeks and was actually sick earlier this week but not since? I'm not sure if the sickness is usually constant or can come and go. I'm not usually a sicky person so I think it's definitely pregnancy related rather than another illness.

Not calling it morning sickness as I seem to be nauseous from about 10am until dinner time!

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 25/02/2022 13:56

@Lap91 My sickness comes and goes. Some days I'm quite nauseous most of the day and other days I'm fine, I've never actually been sick and it isn't terrible sickness. I Was happily enjoying a bacon sandwich this morning and then suddenly I looked at it and thought 'eurgh' then started gagging and had to spit it out !

KelpCake · 25/02/2022 14:30

Can I join too? I'm due on the 24th according to my last period. First pregnancy ever, and I haven't told anyone yet, I need an outlet.

Lap91 · 25/02/2022 14:44

Ohhh yep that's definitely happened to me too! It's annoying that its so unpredictable! Usually I'm a total coffee addict but not been able to stomach it for weeks, likewise some stuff that I couldn't get enough of a few weeks ago I now can't tolerate at all. Hoping it will ease up as the 2nd trimester approaches!

Edmarie · 25/02/2022 16:42

@Nikki037297 I've just found out I've got covid too! I thought I had a cold, but we test 3 times a week at work and my result today came back positive. I can't believe it, I've never had it either! I was starting to think I was immune.
Have you told your doctor or anything? My partner is a bit of a worrier and thinks I should call the hospital where I'm referred... but I don't really see the point. Anyone have any thoughts? I don't feel super ill, just the usual pregnancy stuff with a bit of a cold on top.

daisiesandpeonies · 25/02/2022 17:02

@HermioneGr I definitely feel the same. It's a scary world. Women often start trying to invalidate how they feel with 'people have it so much worse than me', and whilst that may be true, it doesn't mean that your problems don't matter and that you aren't allowed to feel worried or upset. We always try to make ourselves feel guilty don't we? 😢

daisiesandpeonies · 25/02/2022 17:10

Been catching up on the thread - what else is everyone craving?
I drank a litre of grapefruit juice yesterday! And had several ham sandwiches just so I could smother them in mustard. Trying to think of other socially acceptable ways to eat mustard (haven't resorted to eating it out of the jar yet...)

Vslightlystressy · 25/02/2022 18:36

I am going to be leaving thread - I went to my clinic today for a scan (should be 7w3d) and whilst there was a sac there was no embryo - I have been referred to the EPU and will go from there. This was our first go at IVF and we are so lucky to have got to this point - we also have four good quality embryos so we will try again - just need to get through the next few weeks.

I hope you all have a better outcome and lots of lovely little ones.

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 25/02/2022 19:05

@Vslightlystressy So sorry to hear this. I went through this after a fet in November, they didn't find the fetal pole at my viability scan so I can imagine how you're feeling. It's going to be tough but you will get there, and just think of those embryos waiting to be implanted. I wish you all the luck for the future, take care Xx

BecLJ · 25/02/2022 19:38

I'm so sorry @Vslightlystressy sending you lots of thoughts x

So sorry to hear this. amazing to hear you have four quality embryos but it must be a very hard time at the moment so look after yourself x

Mamamoo1234 · 25/02/2022 20:38

@Vslightlystressy Sorry to hear this.

@KelpCake welcome and congrats on your bfp. How have you been feeling? We’re due only a few days apart.

Changednamesorry · 25/02/2022 22:38

@Vslightlystressy I'm so sorry to hear that. Sending love and strength Flowers

BH1926 · 25/02/2022 23:27

@KelpCake welcome and congratulations! ❤️

BH1926 · 25/02/2022 23:29

@Vslightlystressy I'm so sorry to hear that. Look after yourself 💕 xx

KelpCake · 26/02/2022 11:09

@Vslightlystressy oh no, I'm so sorry. Sending love.

@Mamamoo1234 that's so exciting, wonder if well end up giving birth on the same day. I'm feeling okay, I don't really feel anything except intermittent cramps. Although I threw up for the first time yesterday which was weird, because I celebrated it. Otherwise I'm just plodding along trying not to get too anxious about what's going on in there. How are you??

@BH1926 thank you and congratulations to you too!

HermioneGr · 26/02/2022 11:32

@Vslightlystressy so sorry to hear.

HermioneGr · 26/02/2022 11:32

Nausea has hit me hard this morning. Forgot how awful it feels!! Shock

Luckytobeamummy · 26/02/2022 11:41

Hi all, I'm roughly 5 weeks and 5 days.. due around the 24th October... absolutely petrified due to mmc's

KelpCake · 26/02/2022 12:08

@Luckytobeamummy exact same dates as me! I'm also feeling anxious. I've been trying to distract myself and sometimes looking at a MMC risk by day chart which has been making me feel better to see the decrease.

Nikki037297 · 26/02/2022 12:09

@Edmarie I haven’t told the doctor as I felt just like a cold I didn’t see what the doctor would be able to do as it’s a virus and will pass on its own. I’m day 5 today and feeling better. Sickness is a little better today too as it made my morning sickness a million times worse.

Also been for a scan today everyone 8+3 they dated me but I’m still going off my own date. 8 weeks today
