Hey everyone,
Just a question, I’ll be 11 weeks on Saturday and haven’t been contacted by my midwife or had a 12 week scan booked. Do you think I should contact them and ask what’s going on?
I did have a phone assessment, where they ask about medical history but that wasn’t my midwife, just someone from community midwife team.. any thoughts?

PoopMaster · 31/03/2022 18:31

@NorfolkBird did they tell you how long results would take? Am keeping you in my thoughts xx

@xMari that does seem a bit late - some places do things quite last minute but 11 weeks is very relaxed. Can the community team chase up for you?

NorfolkBird · 31/03/2022 19:26

@Jfb23 Yeah I'm under so much stress now.
@PoopMaster The midwife who i met today is ringing me on Monday My 1st scan i had they measured 11mm was is bad

NorfolkBird · 31/03/2022 19:27

FTM2289 · 31/03/2022 20:46

Hi everyone! Can I please join in? I’m 10 weeks tomorrow and new to mumsnet 😊. First pregnancy through IVF due 26th October. I’m going to have a catch up through this thread. Hope all of you ladies are doing well xx

xMari · 31/03/2022 20:58

@PoopMaster - yeah that’s what I was thinking but I don’t want to seem like that impatient pregnant woman lol I’ll ring the community midwives tomorrow and see what they say! Thanks for the second opinion

@NorfolkBird I can’t even imagine how you’re feeling with all this! Honestly wish you the best possible outcome!

Welcome @FTM2289 ! Congratulations on the successful ivf!

NorfolkBird · 31/03/2022 21:05

To everyone reading this Please don't let me stop u posting you're scan pics & results, I'll be ok honestly 💗

Mamamoo1234 · 31/03/2022 21:23

Hi everyone, have just read through the last couple of pages as I haven’t been on here this week.
@LindosDreams14 sorry for your loss
@NorfolkBird thinking about you and I hope it all works out.

I have my scan next week at 11w 5days. Still suffering with sickness so hoping that’s a good sign.

Nikki037297 · 31/03/2022 21:57

I’m so sorry your going through this @NorfolkBird I did have a sort of similar experience with one of my babies. It wasn’t found until a later scan and I was given well he was give a 1in5 chance of a chromosome abnormality. I opted for the amnio immediately and it was done the same day. I expected the worst with a result so high but it came back normal. There is a lot more to that story that comes after that but that was his chance 1in5 and he didn’t have anything so please try not to worry too much although I can imagine you are it was such a dark dark time for me I had to wait 1 day for the first 3 results then 10 days for the rest it was the longest 10 days of my life .

NorfolkBird · 01/04/2022 08:36

@Nikki037297 Wow thank u for sharing that with me/us
My head is in a right mess atm & on edge because I could miscarry again

Hope42022 · 01/04/2022 08:54

I’ve been away from MN for a while so got a lot to catch up on. I’m coming up to 12 weeks (on Sunday) and luckily avoided sickness so far but have been exhausted most days and constantly hungry.

@xMari at my booking in appointment my
Midwife told me to follow up if I didn’t get a scan appointment by 10 weeks. I didn’t get one and have had to spend the last two weeks calling the scanning unit (and being sent around in circles) as the admin had gone wrong somewhere and I wasn’t on the system. I finally heard yesterday that they have me on the list and are booking me in. Long story short, definitely follow up if you’ve not heard anything as there might have been some admin muck up! Good luck!

@NorfolkBird sorry to read about your scan results. I hope you get the reassurance you need from the tests. Look after yourself ❤️

Dreams2727 · 02/04/2022 14:13

@NorfolkBird - so sorry to hear you're going through so much. Will the NHS give you the NIPT? It's accurate screening etc, also, how far along are you and how much did the NT measure?
At 10 weeks 4, my NT measured 3.6mm and they were worried but did say it can spontaneously resolve itself. At 12 weeks, it was perfect at 1mm and completely resolved...
Not suggesting it's the same for you, just try not to lose hope ❤️
Thinking of you xx

NorfolkBird · 02/04/2022 15:10

@Dreams2727 Aww thank u 💓 yes they offered me the amnio I said no in fear of another miscarriage I only want more scans. The NT said it measured 11mm which is really big. I was told there's a possibility of it resolving but im doubtful. I haven't been told my blood test results hopefully on Monday. Next scan im having is 16 wks. I have been feeling flutter movements & have already bonded & talk to my baby. I hope everything is going well with u

Nikki037297 · 02/04/2022 15:18

@NorfolkBird I hope it does resolve for you and you get answers very soon. Such an awful time for you. I have also been feeling movements it’s an amazing feeling. I’m also having a scan at 16 weeks to check baby’s heart. I have history of CHD and it’s also in my family so I’m high risk and have extra checks. Very worried until then and hope all is well this time it’s not something I’d like to go through again.

How is everyone else doing? Is anyone getting hairy? I feel my face is getting hairy when I look in the mirror! Swear I’m going to change my bathroom mirror

NorfolkBird · 02/04/2022 15:30

@Nikki037297 Yeah its not the best of times sometimes I think I wish I never agreed to the screening test then I wouldn't have this worry.
I really hope you're baby will be healthy & no heart problems 💓
Im covered in peach fuzz damn hormones! Just grows back quicker & my legs shaving more often.

xMari · 02/04/2022 16:15

@Hope42022 I wasn’t able to ever get through to them but luckily I’ve received my scan appointment via post this morning. I feel a lot more at ease thankfully lol good luck with your scan!

@Nikki037297 definitely noticed the hair growth too on my face, trying not to let it drive me crazy and trim or pluck when I have the energy hahah

xMari · 02/04/2022 16:18

Also was everyone else told to drink 6 glasses of water before the 12 week scan? I know they need a full bladder but I physically can’t drink so much water so quickly

emmajane90 · 02/04/2022 16:25

I've got letters for all my scans up to the end of the pregnancy and on those it says to drink a pint of water 1 hour before your appointment and that will be sufficient x
emmajane90 · 02/04/2022 16:30

Just caught up from the last few days.

@LindosDreams14 sorry for your loss Flowers
@NorfolkBird I hope everything turns out okay for you

I'm 13+2 now and I thought I was over my morning sickness but earlier in the week it came back with a vengeance when I was brushing my teeth 🤢 haven't had it since so hoping that's the last time it'll happen.

Hope everyone else is well 💜

Nikki037297 · 02/04/2022 17:13

Glad I’m not the only hairy one lol
Iv been so poorly with sickness been to the doctors they wanted me admitted to hospital but I managed to keep
Something down so stayed home but it’s back again since last night I don’t know if it’s a bug or morning sickness. I’m coming up 14 weeks now going by my last scan so it should be wearing off not getting so much worse

Dreams2727 · 02/04/2022 20:29

@NorfolkBird how far along were you with the 11mm?
It's worrying but you shouldn't lose hope. Also the NT thickness is a downs / heart issue indicator (I think) not Edwards / Pataus... are you happy to live with a disabled baby if the worst happened (sorry if I'm asking too personal questions here)? If so, fingers cross everything is ok to continue

Dreams2727 · 02/04/2022 20:33

@NorfolkBird ps. NIPT is different from amnio, it's just a blood test but much more accurate than the NT tests they offer as standard on the NHS Smile xx

NorfolkBird · 02/04/2022 20:57

@Dreams2727 It was at my 12 wk scan. I had a blood test that day so was the NIPT i think. Whatever my baby has ill accept it I don't have a career so all my focus will be on our child. I have plenty of support around me. I know babies with DS are 40% with heart problems just gotta get past 20 wks to be out of the danger zone. I don't think I'll be able to afford to see Fred as good as he sounds. My due date is now 11th October. Thanks for everyone's support Smile

Dreams2727 · 02/04/2022 22:06

@NorfolkBird - NHS typically do Nuchal bloods not NIPT, but NIPT is more accurate - I'd request it if you can / if the Nuchal results don't help you ❤️

Also, I spoke to the lady responsible for all screening at my hospital after my 10+4 scan with Fred and she said I was in best possible hands and if there was an issue they'd refer me to him. So if there are questions, you could ask to be referred to him at UCLH (if you wanted, and the NHS would pay I believe)...

Were you definitely 12 weeks when they scanned, the unknowing and the worry just sucks Sad xx

NorfolkBird · 03/04/2022 09:05

Oh ok I don't know why I wasn't offered a NIPT there. Do u request 1? Yeah I was definitely 12 wks when I had my scan.
