Hi all,

Starting thread #2 as our first is nearly full amazingly!

We also have a private Facebook group which @curlywurly3 has kindly set up. So hopefully see you there too Smile

Here's to the nausea, reassurance scans and long waits of the first trimester!

@AprilShowers92

Hi all, I’m new here. Currently 10w3days, due 10th October. I had some spotting at 6 weeks so had an EPU scan then and have had spotting again this week so have booked a private scan for tomorrow evening just to check everything is okay. I’ve been off work this week as I’ve been quite ill but the drs said they couldn’t give me anything for it - it’s like a cold but quite extreme yet not covid as my tests have been negative! Sorry for the long introductory ramble!
I'm due the same date! I had bleeding at 8+3 that was mainly spotting on and off for around 12ish hours. Freaked me out ! Had a scan at epu and there was a pocket of blood which they said was probably old implantation blood. Had none since. Also had a private scan since and that blood had disappeared but now there is some behind the placenta which she said was a heamatoma !!
Jfb23 · 17/03/2022 17:13

I had my booking in appointment by phone today (had bloods appointment last week). They've prescribed me aspirin for my whole pregnancy because my little girl was born small. Will anyone else be on aspirin? I was a bit shocked when she said it tbh.
I had some spotting in the last week and I mentioned that. They've told me anymore and I should ring up and they'll probably scan me. I didn't realise they'd do anything about first trimester bleeding so that's reassuring. I have a private scan booked for Saturday though which will probably be sooner than any EPU appointment.
My NHS scan is booked for 13 weeks as well.
@Mamamoo1234 we use badger notes too. Mines not been updated for anything,no appointments and no results.

NorfolkBird · 17/03/2022 17:19

@Jfb23 Yeah I've been told 2 take asprin when I'm 12 wks. My 1st pregnancy was a c sec. I'm in 40's now

Smarsh32 · 17/03/2022 18:34

Hi everyone,

I have just found this thread. Congrats all! I am 27 and pregnant from our second try of a frozen embryo transfer. I am due 7th October 2022! So excited to be coming up to 12 weeks. We have our 12 week scan next Thursday (I will be 11+6)! Yay.

Hope you are all doing OK and don't mind me joining the chat! Smile

Dontbeaneejit · 17/03/2022 20:34

Congratulations! Wish I was coming up to 12 weeks. Just surrendered my dinner up to the toilet... Again 😫 anyone else struggling with body temperature? I'm going from boiling hot most of the day to feeling chilled through and shivery every evening. Finding it so hard to warm up. Could be tiredness too but I just can't seem to pick a temperature! I guess the constant changing weather isn't helpful either.

WinterBaby131 · 17/03/2022 20:59

Is there any truth in this?
So I'm going to see a friend in London (3.5 hours from where we are) and my mums been saying not to go in my condition because travelling isnt good (11wks today). I explained that it's only towards the end of the pregnancy that its risky, plus I wont be driving.

I thought I'd Google it anyway, and nhs site says it's ok to but to take regular breaks, why? What happens if you dont?

I know it's ok to, I did during last pregnancy alot mainly when I was in the 3rd trimester, which was really silly of me but this but this is still 1st trimester and now I'm doubting myself.

Any experiences on this

Is it because of blood clot risks and sitting down for long periods?

Hi all,
I don’t seem to have time to read this thread much but just popped in again to leave a new active link for our Facebook group for those not already members. There’s around 115 of us in there now and lots of advice :)

Anyone still having messed up dreams ? Mine are very much anxiety induced as the theme is usually around scans etc.
Well last nights dream I was pregnant with twin kittens 🤔🤔
And also was in Egypt for the Winter Olympics lol

NorfolkBird · 18/03/2022 07:08

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits Morning! Twin kittens???!!! U did make me laugh thank u!!!
No I can't remember my recent dreams

Smarsh32 · 18/03/2022 08:02

@Dontbeaneejit - thank you! Congratulations to you too! Oh so sorry to hear you are having a rough time. In all honesty, I am still having bad nausea and trying so hard to hold down food most days.. but it has improved slightly as most of the time, i can keep the food down now!. Its mostly in the morning I feel really hot when I wake up but my temperature seems normal the rest of the time! Hope you start feeling better soon xx

Kirsike · 18/03/2022 10:06

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits yes!! Never dreamt so much in my life! Sometimes it's crazy stuff like last night I'm sure I robbed some silver jewelry and had the police around for a search.. 🤔 Other time more everyday boring things. Think it's the disturbed sleep with having to get up for a pee

AprilShowers92 · 18/03/2022 20:01

Had my scan this evening. Unfortunately baby measured at 8w4 (2 weeks behind) and no heartbeat. I wish you all healthy pregnancies 💖 hopefully I’ll be back on another thread with good news at some point.

Dreams2727 · 19/03/2022 09:21

@Jfb23 - good luck with your scan

emmajane90 · 19/03/2022 22:43

Has anyone found anything that actually works for severe lower back pain? It's what I imagine sciatica to feel like and when it's really bad I can't bend down at all, I'm struggling to do basic things like put my socks on or get my legs into underwear/pants, walking is hard work and it absolutely kills if I'm driving. Midwife recommended paracetamol but it's not even touching the pain. I have a microwaveable wheat bag but it's only effective when the pain is less severe (it's different pain levels on different days). I just feel really frustrated because I'm 11 weeks tomorrow, this has been going on since I was 8+1, and other than this the rest of my symptoms have subsided. I want to enjoy my pregnancy as best I can (overactive mind/worrying aside) and this is affecting me daily now.

Jfb23 · 20/03/2022 06:01

@Dreams2727 the scan went perfect, thank you. We saw and have a little video of the heartbeat and baby is measuring exactly right. It all feels real now!
@emmajane90 that must be awful :( I have no helpful advice other than try your GP and if they can't help go back to your midwife

Lap91 · 20/03/2022 08:50

@emmajane90 I suffer with sciatica generally and had it the first few weeks after I found out I was pregnant. Have you tried heat patches? I use the Curaheat ones. The advantage over the wheat bag is you can use them when you're up and about (they stick on to skin or clothes depending which ones you buy) so it's easier to keep moving: movement is key for sciatica! You can try gentle stretches too if you can manage. I know it's super painful though, trying to manage it without heavy duty painkillers was hell 🙈 good luck!

xMari · 21/03/2022 22:28

Hello all and congratulations!
I’m very late to join this club but was very unsure how the pregnancy was going due to a lot of spotting. Recently had 2 early scans (2 weeks apart) and they confirmed baby is growing fine regardless so I feel ready to join the group!
According to the scans I’ll be due 25th Oct, however my midwife still says 22nd which would be from my LMP.. so not certain haha sometime that week

Anyway, hope you’re all feeling good and can’t wait to go in this journey with you all!

LondonladyTTC · 22/03/2022 06:51

Welcome to the group @xMari! Glad that your scans have gone well. I am also due 22 October based on LMP 😃

NorfolkBird · 22/03/2022 07:52

@xMari Hello welcome to the group Smile I'm glad you're scans went well. Have got my NHS scan next Tuesday
