I'm definitely sleeping lighter and need a wee a lot in the night.

Had a scan yesterday they dated me 10+1 so two days ahead from my 7wk one. Saw bubble waving and kicking and hb was nice and strong still so feeling a bit more relaxed now. Just another 3 and a bit weeks to go till nhs scan. (I say just, it's going to drag).

I really need this trimester to be over as I'm starting to get sick and tired of being so sick and tired all the time.

NorfolkBird · 13/03/2022 08:57

I've not got up once in the night for a wee, I'm lucky! Looked at my tummy this morning can see a slight bump already 🤗

Millz123 · 13/03/2022 09:00

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can help me with dates so I had a early scan yesterday and baby was measuring at 6+2weeks... I can't seem to count back and see what day I would have conceived😭😭 my EDD has now moved to 3rd November.. my LMP was on the 13th January it lasted around 14days ( which isn't normal I never have that long periods) n DTD on 29th,30,4,5 .. when could I have conceived? I'm so confused

NorfolkBird · 13/03/2022 09:45

@Leibee87 Feeling rubbish wont last I was the same with my 1st. I will mention those ginger biscuits do help!! My 12 wk scan is the 29th fingers crossed 4 that. Not enjoying going 2 work because I have to go up & down stairs 1 trip could be fatal 😑 but all ok so far

NorfolkBird · 13/03/2022 09:48
@Margo34 I would try not to worry to much, as it seems light spotting can be totally normal. One of my friends had light spotting at the time of when all of her periods would have been through her whole pregnancy, so the timing of yours would work with that possibility too. That being said, if I were you I would call EPU and see if they will give you a scan to investigate what might be causing it and reassure you as it's going to be a more worrying wait to 12 weeks without it.

Sorry that you have this stress and hope it's nothing to be concerned about.
EPU won't take self-referals in my area so I'll need to go through MW or GP, and being a weekend they're both closed. So I'm waiting until tomorrow to call them, but I'm working so can't call until lunch (teacher and I'm in class all day). I'm still spotting but it's slightly heavier today (somewhere between spotting and almost a light bleed, but still brown). Sorry for tmi. I'm trying to mentally prepare myself just in case. If I do manage to get an early scan, I'll have to go alone as my toddler and DH both have Covid atm. My last MC, the onset was a lot quicker so I just don't know what to think right now. I'm finding it hard to remain optimistic.

Based on your pregnancy dates, looks like you conceived around 10th Feb. But if you don't know when you ovulated, it's a minefield. You could also have conceived slightly earlier but implantation may have taken longer... These things offer make no sense whatsoever, but your scan dates give you a fairly accurate idea of what the baby is measuring, so I'd just go with those! Hope this helps Smile

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits

Ladies who've already had early scans, is anyone thinking of having another before the 12 week scan? Mine seems so far away and I'm anxious again. I don't know if I should just wait or have another
I've got a lot to catch up on here so sorry for replying to a slightly older post! I have had what most people would consider a ludicrous amount of early scans. I have no children and 2 consecutive losses so I can't even think of another way to quash my anxiety. I did one at 5 weeks to confirm location, so I could go in progesterone and have basically had them pretty much weekly since then. One sonographer told me it wasn't a great idea, but all others have said it's fine. I'm trying to find the balance between too many scans / too much anxiety and which is more like to hurt my little bubba - fingers crossed I'm getting it right. In short, no way in heck I'd wait for 12 weeks. Before I had the second loss my intention was 6 week scan to show heartbeat, 8 week scan as risk of loss reduces to 2% after a viable heartbeat at 8 weeks and then NIPT at 10-12 weeks but that has gone out of the window since. To summarise, you just have to do you and what is best for you - but I think they're a massive part of me feeling more comfortable week to week not constantly panicking baby has died. It doesn't help that my symptoms aren't crazy strong. Like sore boobs- yes, peeing in night - yes - nausea, yes but I've managed not to vomit. I've actually been praying I vomit to make me feel better about it all Grin xx
thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 13/03/2022 13:52

@Dreams2727 I totally get the reassurance !! I told my partner I would crawl into my womb if I could lol
One thing putting me off is if my measurements are out, even by a day, I would freak out ! I'd be like why?! And would over analyse it !! So I think for that reason alone maybe it's not wise, purely for my mental health you know ?

Goodness yes! Whilst for me a scan may be better mentally, I can totally see it the other way. If my dates are out by like a day, it wouldn't bother me, but more than that I'd be scared too! Sad
You've just got to do whatever is best for you and your health xx

Dontbeaneejit · 13/03/2022 22:42

Can I join? Due Oct 24th I think. Nausea is really kicking in now 😫 also cannot believe how much I already feel like I'm showing. This is number three but just feel like I'll never be able to hide it for another 4 weeks! Really worried about telling work!

Kirsike · 14/03/2022 07:32

Hello! A lot of firsts here for me and no clue what I'm doing, had nearly given up on getting here after 3yrs trying 😊 currently 8+5 (if I've deciphered the lingo correctly 😆) and due around 20th Oct. Hating the overall crappy feeling physically - bad gas, hunger but nearly everything makes me nauseous although I've not been sick, slight insomnia to top it off from around 4am onwards. Found out early so currently on w5 of hiding from any sort of social interaction to avoid explaining why I'm not drinking. Other than that really anxious on getting that first scan which I've not even got an app for yet 😭 seen a lot of you mention going for private ones and am tempted but my other half seems against it as they're not 'properly' qualified?

Thankfully this is a subject I know too much about Grin I don't think you'd have an unqualified sonographer working at a private practice. Some places such as Ultrasound Plus quote that they use NHS sonographers.

Realistically, if you're further along and looking for structural anomalies, you may be super picky, but every scan I've been to, for miscarriages and my current pregnancy (which touch wood is progressing as it should) has been accurate.
Also, my local hospital run a private scan clinic one evening a week. You can phone the EPU or midwife unit and ask if they have one at your local hospital? I really found my NHS sonographers to be great, I just struggle to get there the day they run so have been going elsewhere...

In summary, just have a look around, do some research, but you have options :) xx

HermioneGr · 14/03/2022 10:33

Hi anyone feeling dizzy? I was 9 weeks yesterday. This morning at 2am on my way to the loo I fell over and luckily landed on my elbow (hit the skirting board, ouch) not my stomach. Went back to bed but didn't sleep as having bad insomnia. My DD woke at 4:54am (urgh) and I went to try comfort her but as soon as I stood up I fell backwards and felt awfully dizzy and my head felt fuzzy and awful. DH went and held her, I stayed in bed til 6am but had to get up as he has to get ready for work. I've been feeling dizzy all morning. Food and water aren't helping. Should I have already rang the midwives by now or is this normal to expect..?? I've been moving between sofa and playroom floor all morning to just make sure I'm monitoring my DD to some extend, but this is not manageable. I've had nausea for 3 weeks now, and nausea +dizziness is too much. Thanks for listening

Kirsike · 14/03/2022 10:42

@Dreams2727 thanks very much for the insight! I personally thought the same so maybe if I find a place that specifically mentions NHS I'll win my case 😁 think I've decided to wait on my letter before deciding to book or not but that may change.

emmajane90 · 14/03/2022 13:35

@HermioneGr I'd ring the midwife if I was you, when I was at my booking appointment my midwife said if you're thinking of ringing, do it. You're never a bother and even if it's completely normal they might be able to suggest something to help.

Hay91X · 14/03/2022 15:05

@Dontbeaneejit we have the same due date 😊 x

Dontbeaneejit · 14/03/2022 16:31

Yes to dizziness! It's been rubbish. Sometimes just random, sometimes positional - like if I tip my head back. Tbh it was one of my very first symptoms after ovulation. I had 3 days of shocking dizziness

MPlus2 · 15/03/2022 10:05

I’m also having on and off dizziness, my symptoms seem to intensify on an evening. I am not vomiting but I feel odd? I can’t decide if I have heartburn or nausea as the feeling is concentrated right under where my bra sits 🤷🏽‍♀️

NorfolkBird · 15/03/2022 15:41

Has any1 else got a bad back? I have been relaxing most of the day but my back aches really bad! I wish the 12 weeks would hurry up

Mamamoo1234 · 15/03/2022 18:55

Hi everyone,

I’ve had a reassurance scan today and while I feel reassured about the baby, it’s made me worry about other things.
Firstly, baby is well and measuring correctly and everything but after measuring the baby, the sonographer started taking photos of my uterus and other places and asked me questions about bleeding, pelvic pain etc. this got me worried that she had seen something concerning outside of the baby. Did anyone else have other pictures taken and get asked these questions? Or am I just being silly? Xx

Mine always starts at night time and especially when in bed, which is annoying as we got a new mattress topper and it was so comfortable before lol

Was this private or nhs? I also had a reassurance scan today because I've been freaking out and she noticed some blood behind the placenta and said it was a heamatoma, but apparently no cause for concern. Since reading about them I'm a little worried but trying not to think about it. Did they not say what was concerning exactly ??
