See I'm struggling with my anxiety atm and ocd. So I don't know if a scan will make me feel better or if I'll start to find something else to worry about. Imaging the dates are off or something I think it'd send me spiralling.
I've felt more normal the last few days, nausea has pretty much gone although it wasn't that bad to begin with. I'm getting back ache at night and I'm shattered. I wish I could say oh I've got loads of symptoms so I don't need to but it isn't that way for every woman. I'm trying to tell myself it's probably because I'm reaching that 10 week mark when the placenta starts doing most of the work but anxiety doesn't work that way so I'm just unsure what to do 😩

NorfolkBird · 11/03/2022 17:46

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits its completely normal 2 feel anxious at this early stage i feel it too but I just take each day as it comes. U & baby will be fine Flowers

MilesforMiles · 11/03/2022 18:55

Hello lovely ladies, I've just joined despite using mumsnet for a while to reassure myself. I'm 35 and never had a viable pregnancy before. I'm currently around 10 weeks and feeling enormous (not even sure it's bloating I think I'm just eating the nausea away).

I had a scan at around 7+4 and it was a harrowing experience so just going to wait for our NHS angels to see me now.

Sending so much support to those in need ❤️

NorfolkBird · 11/03/2022 20:18

@MilesforMiles Welcome! Have u suffered from morning sickness? I keep sneezing every day & sometimes I pee a little! I'm so looking forward to my next scan in a few weeks

Leibee87 · 11/03/2022 22:39

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits I'm having my second reassurance scan tomorrow going by lmp I'll be 10+2. Had my first scan at 7wks exactly but they dated me back 3 days so want to see if it's evened out also my nhs scan isn't until 13+6 so I just want to see my little bubble.

I thought and think my sickness is easing but I have been sick again tonight but I'm definitely having a few better days now so hopefully things are improving. Just absolutely shattered all the time and boobs still quiet sore. DH thinks I'm getting bigger though I can't see it yet 😂. Definitely more comfier in trackies and leggings than sports leggings now though.

LondonladyTTC · 12/03/2022 07:42

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits I had my first reassurance scan on Monday at 7+2.

I have an NIPT (which includes a scan) booked in for 10+4 so thought this would be a manageable gap but now very tempted to go for a scan next week..

Despite being told baby looks very healthy on Monday, I have absolutely no sickness, boobs aren't even that sore either which makes not feel pregnant a lot of the time! I have exhaustion, bloating and what I think is round ligament pain but that's all.. no food aversions either. I'm probably jinxing it and will be sick as a dog toMorrow but at 8 weeks I would have thought it would have started... I feel like this is giving me nothing to reassure that all is still ok.

I think I may book in next Friday as will be 8+6 and I think the reassurance is worth the cost.

emmajane90 · 12/03/2022 08:00

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits I feel the same as you. I had a scan at 7+4 and everything was perfect, I'll be exactly 10 weeks tomorrow and my next NHS scan is at 12+1 which just feels like forever away 😅 also my 12 weeks falls on Mother's Day and I really wanted to announce the pregnancy then but I also don't want to announce it until after my scan which is the following day. So going for a private one in a week or so would give me the confidence to announce it on Mother's Day like I planned. My husband doesn't get why the private scans are worth the money 😅 I just keep saying if it was happening in your body you'd understand. Most of my symptoms have started to subside except for horrendous lower back pain, so I'm also convincing myself I don't feel pregnant any more. It's such a stressful time! Let me know what you decide x

NorfolkBird · 12/03/2022 08:06

Was working last night & I felt nausea i live 40 mins away while I was driving home I felt my eyes closing! But I made it back home safely. Got straight into bed had a couple of ginger biscuits to be woken up at 3.40am with something in my bedroom I could hear it breathing was scared to open my eyes was here for 20 mins freaky as anything

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 12/03/2022 09:31

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one feeling this way (as selfish as that sounds)
I'm still undecided !! I might give it a week and see how I'm getting on, if I find I'm really struggling then it'd probably be helpful to go and get a scan. It just feels like such a long wait til the 31st !!
I wish I was sick at least then I might feel reassured, but other than sleeping more than usual and back aches at night I can't really say I have any major symptoms !
I'm 9+5 today and I'm sure time has stopped.

Well that's weird !! Are you sure it wasnt sleep paralysis ?? I've had it a couple of times when I was younger and it's not anolessent experience, I thought a ghost was pinning me to the bed lol
NorfolkBird · 12/03/2022 09:49

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits My partner heard the noise too he got up opened the window & jumped he thinks it was a animal we live in the countryside it was so loud though! Woke us both up. Don't see anything outside today.

NorfolkBird · 12/03/2022 09:55

Just got my 12 weeks scan on 29th seems ages away!

MilesforMiles · 12/03/2022 10:11

@NorfolkBird everything seems ages away at the moment doesn't it? Will you be 12 weeks 29th?

NorfolkBird · 12/03/2022 10:27

@MilesforMiles Yeah by then ill be 9 weeks 1 day edd is 9th October. My anxiety is high just wanna get there now. When is you're 12 week scan?

MilesforMiles · 12/03/2022 10:39

@NorfolkBird will that be your first one or have you had a cheeky early one? My edd is 7th so we're close! I have my booking app on Monday so find out soon Smile I'm feeling a bit detached from it all so hoping Monday will help reality set in a bit

NorfolkBird · 12/03/2022 10:56

No sorry they told me I'm due on the 10th October baby brain keeps knocking me lol. I had a scan this week. Ru eating more than usua?l I am!

MilesforMiles · 12/03/2022 10:59

@NorfolkBird I'm so glad you've said that, I'm literally eating every couple of hours and feel like everyone else is off their food and I'm just a greedy piggy! I'm also shattered which is a struggle on shift work but the plus side is my nails are fabulous and I'm liking running a bit warmer!

NorfolkBird · 12/03/2022 11:08

@MilesforMiles I'm glad I'm not the only 1!!! It feels like every hr in the morning then it eases have dinner & tea then I'm hungry during the night. My nails have kept on braking but my hair looks good

LondonladyTTC · 12/03/2022 11:46

@thunderonlyhappenswhenits I caved and booked a scan for next Saturday when I will be 9 weeks.

NorfolkBird · 12/03/2022 11:56

Has any1 had niggling little twinges in the groin area? I've had it for about a week its not all the time I've had no spotting

Mals2022 · 12/03/2022 17:45

I get them all the time its so annoying! I've had them since the beginning, I'm 9 weeks now, no spotting either xx
Margo34 · 12/03/2022 18:31

I started spotting on Thursday, the barely there kind, but it's got a little heavier today (as in - now I use a pantyliner but one would be fine for all day), nothing major. But it's giving me the niggles and making me nervous. I had one-off spotting with my DC1 but never consecutive days! I checked out the dates and this would be when my next (2nd) period would have been so I wonder, could it be that?!

Got my booking Appt on Thurs and my NHS scan not until 11th April which absolutely feels like forever away.

I had a MC before my DC1 but it was very sudden onset so none of this dither. I'm so anxious right now!

Margo34 · 12/03/2022 18:47

Currently 8w+2, I meant to add.

LondonladyTTC · 13/03/2022 08:30

@Margo34 I would try not to worry to much, as it seems light spotting can be totally normal. One of my friends had light spotting at the time of when all of her periods would have been through her whole pregnancy, so the timing of yours would work with that possibility too. That being said, if I were you I would call EPU and see if they will give you a scan to investigate what might be causing it and reassure you as it's going to be a more worrying wait to 12 weeks without it.

Sorry that you have this stress and hope it's nothing to be concerned about.

ploopypleepy · 13/03/2022 08:40

Had to get up twice last night to pee! That's the first time that's happened .... also really struggled to sleep which is very strange for me 😂 hoping it's a one off and insomnia isn't going to kick off ... anyone else struggle sleeping ?
