Hi! Thought I'd start a new thread as we filled up the previous one. Going to try and tag everyone who's been active recently - apologies if I miss anyone out! Feel free to join in.

I'm expecting my firstborn, having had 2 miscarriages. Currently 17 weeks and 2 days!

Girls, anyone had experience with spotting during pregnancy?
My spotting started about 10 days ago, I had 2 scans during that time, 7 and 8 week scan, both showing baby growing properly and with heartbeat (my 8 week scan showed baby size 8+5). Doctor told me since it's brown it's old blood and nothing to worry about, he even took me off of progesterone this week.
I am 8+4 today, spotting is still here, very light but enough to annoy me and scare me a lot. I have some mild cramping but nothing serious.
Anyone had similar experience? I'm so worried.

susiebluebell · 15/03/2022 13:32

@FirstTimeMama22 believe me it DOES get easier! With how worried I was at the start, if I'd had to spend the whole pregnancy on that level of anxiety I wouldn't have bothered. But I'm now 22 weeks (can't quite believe it) and feel her moving every day and it's wonderful.

You will get there - maybe this time, maybe in future. But it will happen for you. Your mum's right Smile Now as for £79 and a 120-mile round trip, only you know how to bargain your way into that 😉

@Silvermisty Lots of ladies on here have had spotting in pregnancy. I remember one lady had enough to fill two tampons I think, and she's now got a lovely toddler!

Every week that goes by is a stronger and stronger likelihood of a full-term pregnancy, so you are doing well! And how amazing seeing them at the scans! Hold on to that and trust your doctor and your body x

@Hftb thinking of you today. Hope all goes well. X

Hftb · 15/03/2022 15:39

@OnceUponAThread I’m sad to say all was not good for my DD. I’ve been with her today, fetal pole had grown to from 2.5mm to 3.1mm in two weeks. The doctor and a sonographer checked. Poor DD so sad for her. Now she has to decide from the 3 options of how to manage the miscarriage. Heartbroken for her. I know how she feels as I went through the same 30 years ago. I’m pleased to say she was treat with great compassion today. Thanks for listening.

OnceUponAThread · 15/03/2022 16:54

@Hftb I'm so, so, so sorry to hear that. It's absolutely the worst thing. Xx

Silvermisty · 16/03/2022 00:19

@susiebluebell thank you so much for saying that. I just need to believe everything will be fine, but it stresses me so much seeing the brownish stuff, it's very annoying! I know lots of amazing processes happening right now and my body is doing its best! Smile

@Hftb I am so sorry to hear that. I've been through same thing just 6 months ago, I know how bad it is and how sad your DD must be now. You are a great support to her!!

susiebluebell · 16/03/2022 07:13

@Silvermisty it's true! There's so much amazing stuff going on in there that we're barely aware of Smile

@Hftb really sorry that it's not gone well for your daughter. Sending hugs x

Loulou237 · 16/03/2022 16:43

@Hopingforarainbow27 oh my god I am so so sorry. I have no words. We’re here if you need us xxx

Hopingforarainbow27 · 16/03/2022 16:54

Thank you everyone. I just feel so defeated. I got to 13 weeks this time. I just feel like it's like snakes and ladders at this point. 💔

Loulou237 · 16/03/2022 18:24

@Hopingforarainbow27 could they find any reason for it? I am so so sorry love. Xxx

Hopingforarainbow27 · 16/03/2022 18:27

@Loulou237 not at the minute

Loulou237 · 16/03/2022 18:58

@Hopingforarainbow27 I’m so sorry it’s just so unfair. Hopefully now you’ve had 3 miscarriages they will do find the reason behind it all and make sure it never happens again for you xx

Hopingforarainbow27 · 16/03/2022 19:40

@Loulou237 they did do tests after the second one and everything was fine. Will prob get them again. It's so disheartening when there is no answers

Silvermisty · 17/03/2022 03:12

@Hopingforarainbow27 I'm so sorry to read this. It's so heartbreaking, I know the pain of miscarriage but I cannot imagine how you feel now, 3rd time and twins. I hope you find your strength again, this is so hard!!

Silvermisty · 17/03/2022 05:03

@Hopingforarainbow27 if it's not difficult for you now, can you tell us what has happened, did you start bleeding, have pain or something else made you realize it's happening??

Hopingforarainbow27 · 17/03/2022 06:06

The day before yesterday I had a dull ache on and off but wasn't sure if it was just stretching as I was 13 weeks then that evening I started spotting then bleeding so went to hosp at 4 in the morning and got scanned then had a d&c all in the one day. I feel so empty

Silvermisty · 17/03/2022 07:07

@Hopingforarainbow27 omg, that sounds so terrible!! I'm so sorry!! You are so strong!! When you got to hospital with that bleed the ultrasound already showed it's finished?

Hopingforarainbow27 · 17/03/2022 07:21

They said there were no heartbeats. I seen the heartbeats at 8 weeks so very hard. Do any of you know of a thread for people who have had multiple miscarriages

Silvermisty · 17/03/2022 07:24

@Hopingforarainbow27 It's so sad.
I don't know on here, I know there are women with multiple miscarriages on the forums of Fertility Friend app.

susiebluebell · 20/03/2022 11:08

@Hopingforarainbow27 just want to say I've been thinking about you xx
