Hi! Thought I'd start a new thread as we filled up the previous one. Going to try and tag everyone who's been active recently - apologies if I miss anyone out! Feel free to join in.

I'm expecting my firstborn, having had 2 miscarriages. Currently 17 weeks and 2 days!

That’s lovely news @Hopingforarainbow27, congratulations!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 10/02/2022 15:52

Thank you everyone 🤍 I was so shocked when she said all ok and then absolutely floored when she said "there's 2"

OnceUponAThread · 10/02/2022 17:23

Just back from my 16wk midwife appointment (though actually I'm nearly 18wks) and had the most fabulous experience of hearing baby's heartbeat!!

After growing more confident in recent weeks, I had a major wobble leading up to this and was convinced there'd be no heartbeat. I was a wreck this morning. But the midwife was so pleased with what she felt and said it was exactly what she'd expect at this stage. And then we heard baby's heart beating away! Absolutely magical and I burst into tears Grin

The lows almost seem worth it for these highs!

Awww @susiebluebell thanks amazing news. It’s the best hearing the heartbeat isn’t it! Congratulations xxx

How's everyone getting on?

I'm starting to feel so panicky and anxious again. I don't know why. Just terrified something has gone wrong.

20 week scan seems so far away. Not sure how I will manage till then. 😔

Loulou237 · 14/02/2022 06:29

Oh @OnceUponAThread I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Just remember the chances are tiny that anything’s gone wrong, it’s far more likely at this stage that everything is as it should be. When was your last scan? Look at the pics and remember how good it was. Hopefully you don’t have too long to wait til your next one. Sending lots of love xx

susiebluebell · 15/02/2022 06:23

@OnceUponAThread remind me when your 20wk scan is?

I think the worry and imagining the worst is a way of protecting ourselves, really. I was a wreck before all my scans, absolutely convinced it would be bad news. Then there's a confidence for a few weeks, till the anxiety starts to creep back in about the next stage... I've not found anything to stop it but at least I recognise it in myself now, and that makes it easier.

Keep talking to us about it, we're veterans of pregnancy anxiety Grin

@susiebluebell - that's EXACTLY how it is. I'm on cloud nine directly after a scan and then the anxiety creeps in until I'm a total wreck.

Still almost two weeks till my scan. Not sure I can cope at all. Totally panicked that something has gone wrong. I really wish I could feels some movements or symptoms or anything like that. Also anxious about any possible anomalies.

😩

Well I am knocking on 20 weeks and looking forward to the scan next week when we hopefully find out baby's sex!

How is everyone else getting on? Xx

OP posts:
OnceUponAThread · 24/02/2022 19:29

Scan early next week for me too (mine got pushed back). Starting to get very nervous.

Good luck with yours. How exciting you'll be finding out the sex. Keep us posted!!!

Loulou237 · 25/02/2022 06:35

Hi everyone, 24 weeks here and the size of a house already. Been feeling kicks which is lovely. Please let me know how the scans go, so exciting!! I hope everyone is feeling ok xxx

susiebluebell · 25/02/2022 09:52

Ooh @OnceUponAThread mine's on Tuesday, when's yours? Good luck!

Ah @Loulou237 I'm sure it's not all fun for you but I love seeing ladies when they get house-sized Grin I've been feeling wriggly moving, not kicks as such but definitely things going on in there! Hope you're well xx

@susiebluebell I quite weirdly enjoy having a big bump! I’ve been showing it off, not that I can really hide it at this point 😂

I’m doing ok just so tired. I hope you are too! Xxx

OnceUponAThread · 25/02/2022 13:19

My bump is huge even though I'm only 20 weeks. On the one hand, I should probably reign in on the gluttony. But at least there's no "is she fat or is she pregnant" confusion. 😬😂

OnceUponAThread · 25/02/2022 13:20

@susiebluebell I'm on Monday. Fingers crossed we both get good news. I can feel her wriggling which has been very reassuring.

@OnceUponAThread how did the scan go? Xx

OnceUponAThread · 28/02/2022 21:14

All went swimmingly. Everything seemed in order and she was wiggling away. SUCH a relief.

Over half way there now. Exciting.
