Hi! Thought I'd start a new thread as we filled up the previous one. Going to try and tag everyone who's been active recently - apologies if I miss anyone out! Feel free to join in.

I'm expecting my firstborn, having had 2 miscarriages. Currently 17 weeks and 2 days!

@OnceUponAThread amazing news, yay! You must be so relieved and excited.

@susiebluebell good luck today xxx

OnceUponAThread · 01/03/2022 12:01

So, so, so relieved. And yes very excited.

They said girl as well, so I think that's more certain too (although am vaguely convinced she's going to be one of those stories where we're told girl throughout, pick a girl name, and she pops out a boy).

Fingers crossed for you today @susiebluebell! Let us know how you get on X

susiebluebell · 01/03/2022 15:34

Ours is a girl too! Scan went well and all growing as it should (tummy a bit sore though as they were really pressing).

Yes @OnceUponAThread we're over halfway now!

@susiebluebell yay! So excited for you. What a relief.

How nice we're both having little girls too. Hopefully we can both relax a bit now (although I'm now starting to worry about the other end of the journey and how to get her out again 😆).

Loulou237 · 01/03/2022 16:46

@susiebluebell yay! So happy for you 😊

I hope you can both relax a bit now you’ve got that out the way!

Haha @OnceUponAThread the labour isn’t too bad don’t worry! Xx

susiebluebell · 01/03/2022 20:51

Thanks guys, I feel really happy now. Really relaxed and confident. Although I fear I may become a baby bore to those around me, as it's all I want to talk about!

Right now the miscarriages feel like a distant memory. The pain is still there when I think about them, but I finally feel like I am moving past them to really love this little kid.

Hi All,

Please can I join Smile

I have been trying to find something like this as I need to chat to people who have gone through the same thing.
I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks back in 2020 which as you all know was traumatic and very sad. Myself and my partner only then started trying again properly ( I have not been on birth control since) late last year.

I am got a positive test on 25th February Grin and I am now 5w2d. But tonight is bad for me and my anxiety levels are through the roof. I am so emotional and worried about what will happen next and every feeling in my stomach or when I go to the toilet makes my heart drop.

I just need to be able to chat with you all for some support!

Have any of you had a scan earlier than 12 weeks? I need to put my mind at ease.

Thank you xxx

OnceUponAThread · 02/03/2022 00:22

@misslahx hey. Congratulations on your BFP. Completely understand the anxiety - we've all been there.

Lots of us had scans pre-12 weeks. I managed to get one through the NHS at around 7.5 weeks. (I rang my GP and explained how anxious I was and they referred me).

All trusts are different - but if you can't get an NHS one it's possible to go private. I had another private one at around 10 weeks.

I'd say wait as long as you can - and at least till 7-8 weeks. Any earlier and you might not be able to see anything yet which will send your anxiety through the roof.

X

misslahx · 02/03/2022 00:29

@OnceUponAThread hello x

I was thinking that, once I get my letter through I will possibly mention to my GP on how I am feeling and ask for one. I would rather wait it out and be able to see something than not. I never made it to have a scan last time around so I would like to have one before 11 weeks.

We shall see x

It's so late I need to get to bed xx

Silvermisty · 02/03/2022 03:37

Hi girls!!
Can I join you? I am 6+5 today, 37yo, my first baby but my third pregnancy. One was chemical, another one ended at 7weeks with no heartbeat and had to go to D&C, and this one is going good so far.
I had a scan at 5+1, at 6+1 (we had heartbeat!!) and will have on Saturday when I'll be 7+1.

I am super terrified, and cannot think of anything else. Every little thing worries me like insane...Currently I am freaking out because my symptoms seem to fade. I don't really have any nausea, I sometimes feel a bit of it, mostly in the evening. My boobs are sore, and I felt tired, nothing else. Yesterday, I felt totally normal, I even had energy. IT FREAKS ME OUT!!

I don't know how will I survive until Saturday but it feels better to see I am not the only one!!

misslahx · 02/03/2022 10:01

@Silvermisty hey!! You definitely are not the only one I feel exactly the same to you.

I'm still unsure if I should book an early scan before my 12 week one to check that everything is going well to give me some peace of mind. I'm currently 5weeks 3 days today. If I was to get an early scan when should I do it? As I want to be able to see something ThanksStar

Raindrops2015 · 02/03/2022 10:41

Can I join? I had a missed miscarriage with surgery at 11weeks. I'm getting alot of back pain and pain down my legs. I'm not sure if this is something to worry about or not. I'm having a scan when I will be 6+1 due to pain.

As previous posters have said I'm very anxious, dreading the scan. I wish I could just dope myself up on sedatives or "I don't care" pills. I'm really hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'm not having much symptoms other than cramping and back pain. Is that OK?

It's really heartening to hear positive outcomes for alot of mums here.

Raindrops2015 · 02/03/2022 10:43

@misslahx at least 6 weeks. Even then it is a little early and if there's a chance your dates are out they might not be able to see a heartbeat

Silvermisty · 02/03/2022 12:34

I think 6+3 or so you can expect heartbeat and tiny embryo to be seen. But maybe more safe to wait until 7 weeks. Honestly, it won’t give you any peace. Since I had MMC last time, they decided to do ultrasound for me every week from week 5. It doesn’t make me feel at peace, just for about 30min after the scan and then the worry starts again.
I feel totally normal today and it’s driving me crazy, why I don’t feel any symptoms? 😫

Silvermisty · 02/03/2022 12:36

@misslahx that message above was for you.
Just to add, I could see a heartbeat at 6+1 and I was so happy and then the worry started all over again!! I cannot wait for my next appointment on Saturday!!!

I hope your scan goes well and pain is nothing to worry about, I hope it’s just a sign of things are stretching out and preparing! I have symptoms sometimes but they come and go and like for the last 2 days I feel totally normal, it’s so scary!!!
misslahx · 02/03/2022 13:56

@Silvermisty I may do a 8 week Smile

susiebluebell · 02/03/2022 16:26

Hi and welcome @misslahx, @Raindrops2015 and @Silvermisty So great that you find yourselves here, congratulations. Everybody here knows the ups and downs of excitement vs fear, and all the other feelings of pregnancy after miscarriage.

Got to dash off now but yes I had a scan at 6 weeks (NHS) because I was anxious from previous miscarriages. The GP arranged it. X

@susiebluebell that's good to know, I may speak with my doctor and see if I can arrange something! Thank you xx

Hftb · 02/03/2022 19:00

DD went to early pregnancy dept for a scan today after miscarriage last July. Periods irregular so no definite date for lmp. Clear blue said 2-3 weeks which would make her around 7 weeks now but measuring 6 weeks they’ve told her. Tiny fetal pole is there 2.5 mm no heartbeat as yet but they didn’t seem worried. She goes back in two weeks she’s so worried and I’m trying to be positive for her. I have a good feeling. She did pay for a private scan two weeks ago where there was a sac and a yolk but no fetal pole so to me things are progressing. I think her fear comes from the clear blue test and reading 2-3 weeks is really 3-4 weeks so that would make her around 8 weeks. Sorry for long post just doing best to support her over next two weeks.

Raindrops2015 · 02/03/2022 20:10

@Silvermisty thank you. I need to stop over analysing everything. What will be will be. Scan is on Tuesday. I hope you have a lovely scan on Saturday.

@Hftb If clear blue is saying 2 to 3 weeks then that means 4 to 5 weeks. You add 2 weeks. I'm not sure when she took the test. Just letting you know because I took it from your post you were adding 3 or 4 weeks to clear blue result. Anyway I hope your daughter has a positive scan.

Silvermisty · 03/03/2022 03:18

@Raindrops2015 Thank you so much, let's try survive these anxious times together. Today I woke up and felt great again, it's so annoying, why do I feel great? (I know I sound ridiculous!) Grin

@Hftb I hope your DD will be fine and everything will go turn out to go well!

Hftb · 03/03/2022 12:31

@Raindrops2015
This is the concern. If she adds 2 weeks onto the clearblue which was showing 2-3 weeks. It would make her 9 plus weeks which she deffinatally isn’t. We will just have to wait and see and hope for a positive scan of a heartbeat.

I'm sorry to hear that. I was really hoping you had counted the weeks wrong. It sounds like you are good support for her. I'm thinking of you both.

Loulou237 · 03/03/2022 19:02

Hi @Hftb I’m sorry what do you mean that would make her 9 weeks? The digital tests showing 2-3 would mean she’s 4-5 weeks pregnant surely? And if scan says 6 that’s perfect! Sorry if I’m missing something it’s been a long day. Good luck to your daughter and all the new ladies on here xx
