Hi! Thought I'd start a new thread as we filled up the previous one. Going to try and tag everyone who's been active recently - apologies if I miss anyone out! Feel free to join in.

I'm expecting my firstborn, having had 2 miscarriages. Currently 17 weeks and 2 days!

Keeping it a suprise 😊We've decorated the nursery sage green with one wall of fox wallpaper which is super cute and will be fine for boy or girl!

Flowerstem · 27/10/2022 16:52

Aw that's sounds really cute decor! Your sonographer must be really good to hide them and keep them a secret 😁 unfortunately ours were clear as day lol we are happy all the same and glad that hes growing healthy.

We do have another growth scan monday so cannot wait to see him again

Loubylauralou · 31/10/2022 19:27

@Flowerstem how was your scan today?

Flowerstem · 31/10/2022 19:34

@Loubylauralou

It went really well thankyou! Hes growing as he should and weighs about 4lb 2oz, I have another scan in 2 weeks time and a consultation about a c section

Do you have anymore scans or appointments soon?

Loubylauralou · 31/10/2022 19:37

Ah that's great 😊I have just got the usual midwife appointments now and a glucose test next week.

Flowerstem · 01/11/2022 07:40

Good luck with the glucose test, hopefully your not to uncomfortable with bloods been drawn ect and your results come back with no worries.

GinnyBee · 01/11/2022 13:20

Hey all, nice to see good news on here 😊 I can't believe my pregnancy after miscarriage has just blown out of his diaper in the car and will be turning 6 months next week.

The glucose test is going to be fine, I know some people have a dodgy experience but for me it was just a bit boring sitting around for two hours.

Loubylauralou · 01/11/2022 16:28

Yeah I had one before when I was pregnant with my daughter and it was ok although it was a super hot day and it took them several attempts to get my blood! I have to have it because my sister has type 1 diabetes, came back ok last time so hopefully will this time too. Wow @GinnyBee 6 months already!? That has flown by!

GinnyBee · 01/11/2022 21:25

@Loubylauralou i know, it’s mental!

I wonder how @susiebluebell and @OnceUponAThread are doing?

susiebluebell · 01/11/2022 22:16

@GinnyBee You rang? 😀

My pregnancy after miscarriage is asleep next to me in the bed. Nearly 4 months old. Wouldn't change a thing ❤️

Heyyy. Glad to hear you're all doing so well. My tiny toy is also snoozing next to me. Best thing that's ever happened to me. X

Flowerstem · 15/11/2022 14:04

Aw its amazing to hear that you are all doing well and little ones are happy and healthy growing!

Did either of you ladies say you had a c-section with your new bundles?

I was wondering what your experience was like?

susiebluebell · 15/11/2022 19:28

Hey @Flowerstem no I had a vaginal birth in the pool with gas and air. Very quick it was too 😳 I think a couple of the ladies on here had c-sections but if you want to chat about it and ask questions, maybe you'd have better luck starting a thread about it in one of the pregnancy sections?

You must be getting close now!

Aw that sounds like an amazing experience of birthing pool, I cant believe it's been that many months already!

Nearly there, christmas day but as I've chose an elective c section with experience of past traumatic births and fetal distresses each time he is due 21st December 😬💙

GinnyBee · 16/11/2022 15:32

I had an elective c-sec! A really fuss free experience. I went in at 7.30am, the midwives and anaesthetist did their rounds, they had three on the morning list and I was second. I went into theatre around 11am, had baby like 15 minutes later, out to recovery around 11.45 and postnatal by 12.30. Started getting the feeling back to my legs around 4pm I think. Decided to keep the catheter in overnight as I wasn’t going to be discharged until the next day anyway, had it out first thing in the morning, started learning how to walk and got cleared to go home by lunch time. The first pee after the catheter comes out is a weird one!

I recovered really well. Had to move quite carefully for two days but by day 3 there was a massive improvement and I was picking baby up from his bassinet, changing nappies on the floor and taking baby for short strolls around the block in a stretchy wrap. The midwife who came to see me days 2 and 5 forgot both times that I’d had a caesarean because I was so mobile. I can’t remember exactly when I stopped taking pain meds but it was around 2 weeks and I only kept taking them to be sure, I never had a lot of pain at any point as I kept on top of it. Had some niggles and pulling sensation during certain movements or positions on one side where the stitches were tied until 6 weeks and then it stopped pretty much overnight.

Littlegoth · 16/11/2022 16:22

Please could I join? Just got my BFP today. Approaching it nervously, as I was diagnosed with APS a few years ago after 3 miscarriages, was lucky to have my little boy once diagnosed, then had another miscarriage in August. I’ve been started on cyclogest and enoxaparin again, here’s hoping for a sticky bean x

Littlegoth · 16/11/2022 16:25

i may be a bit late to this party but seeing all your good news is encouraging! X

susiebluebell · 16/11/2022 19:07

Congratulations and good luck with it @Littlegoth I'm sure you must be worried, but you've successfully borne a child before so you know it can be done! 😁 Not being flippant just positive, which I find helps (I had a couple of MCs too, very tough). Wish you all the best - and if this thread is too quiet then start a new one! 😁

@Littlegoth welcome and congratulations! We all know how you feel, completely normal to feel nervous after miscarriages. I'm currently 27+2 and had 3 miscarriages before this pregnancy. I have found this thread a great source of support. Good luck!

@Flowerstem - I did. It was an incredible, calm and straightforward experience. Recovery was fine and a lot quicker than expected. Totally straightforward, wouldn't change a thing.

Hi everyone, how are you all doing? I've been meaning to post on here for a while but have been rather busy! Our beautiful rainbow baby arrived in January, 3.5 weeks early! She was in a rush to join us and labour was just under 4 hrs start to finish! She's absolutely perfect 😍It was a difficult journey to get here but feel so blessed to have her.
