Hi! Thought I'd start a new thread as we filled up the previous one. Going to try and tag everyone who's been active recently - apologies if I miss anyone out! Feel free to join in.

I'm expecting my firstborn, having had 2 miscarriages. Currently 17 weeks and 2 days!

Hello

I don't know whether I should join or not really. I miscarried just before my 20 week scan this year. It's been 3 months now and I thought I had a sickness bug, but I did a test on the off chance which was an extremely dark positive despite being afternoon wee 10 mins after another wee, I could barely get any out and still got a line that dark. I did a CB weeks straight after which shows 3+, I haven't had a proper period yet so I can't guess how far along I am, CB 3+ means 5+ weeks apparently but it doesn't go higher, so I really don't know. I've been told it's very unlikely to be the miscarriage causing results this strong, as I had a negative test two weeks after it happened. Part of me still can't believe it though. I tried for 18 months for my last pregnancy and I'm still feeling raw from what happened, I can't believe it could happen this easily. I'm in the EPU on Friday for confirmation of what's going on, until then somewhere to talk is helpful. My friends and family have only just dragged me through last time so I don't want to put it on them again so soon.

Loubylauralou · 22/06/2022 15:49

@hellofromthemotherside I am so sorry for your loss. Research suggests that you are often more fertile after a miscarriage- I am currently pregnant (6+2) after my 3rd miscarriage last month. I have found this forum very supportive, lots of ladies going through similar things and also some lovely success stories. I'm sure your friends and family would want to support you so don't keep it all in. Here if you want to chat. Xx

Flowerstem · 22/06/2022 16:59

@hellofromthemotherside

hello! I'm glad you joined, no one should have to go those feelings all alone and everyone has been through similar experiences.

It does seem like it wouldn't be from your MC if you had a negative test previously and I really do hope that Friday brings good news for you. Our bodies do work in mysterious ways!

Take each day at a time and the forum is usually very active so someone would always get back to you.
Sending positive thoughts your way

susiebluebell · 22/06/2022 17:26

Hello and welcome @hellofromthemotherside I'm another one who got pregnant almost straight after a miscarriage. I did feel as though I didn't get a chance to mourn that loss, so I understand some of the mixed feelings you might be having.

However if you are still wanting to be pregnant then it is great news 😊 I hope the EPU visit goes well on Friday. And this is the time of life when you get to use all the support you need, so don't worry about family/friends being 'put through' something again. This is happening to YOU. As my partner said, right now it's all about you 😊❤️

Hi ladies

I'm sure it's nothing to concern over it's just new to me as everything has changed since so many years ago and didn't have half as many scans as I have got booked in the next months 😅

Did any of you get put into the 'high risk' due to the previous MC, my consultant has put me on aspirin to help the placenta and it wont harm the baby and I've got a few extra growth scans? Does this seem normal.

Hope your all doing well!

Loubylauralou · 29/06/2022 15:57

@Flowerstem I can't say from personal experience but it make sense to me that they would monitor you more closely and it's fairly common to be put on aspirin, it won't do any harm. It will be good to have extra scans to give you extra reassurance too.

I've got my early scan tomorrow and I'm so anxious, I've been counting down the days as obviously I need to know one way or another but I can't stop thinking about it being bad news again 😢 not sure how I'll cope if it is.

@Onebabyandamadcat how are you doing?

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Flowerstem · 29/06/2022 16:04

@Loubylauralou oh yes! The 30th seems to have come around quite quick, I'm sure on your side it has been really slow.

All the best for tomorrow and I will be thinking of you. Sending you all the rainbow dust and I hope it's good news for you x

Loubylauralou · 29/06/2022 17:11

@Flowerstem Thank you 😘

TwoBulletsFiveZombies · 29/06/2022 20:21

Good luck tomorrow @Loubylauralou

susiebluebell · 29/06/2022 20:40

Another good luck from me @Loubylauralou Whatever happens, you will be OK 💪🏻

@Flowerstem I haven't been considered high-risk due to MCs, I'm still low. But maybe your circumstances were different? (Age/health/gestation etc?) Either way it's a good thing that you are being offered more monitoring, and scans especially can be really fun after the first terrifying one! I say go for it and accept all the extra help they want to give!

Flowerstem · 30/06/2022 06:58

@susiebluebell I will enjoy the extra scans leading up to the due date, I am excited at the same time to be able to see him frequently to see hows hes getting on.

@Loubylauralou Thinking of you today, good luck! 💞

susiebluebell · 30/06/2022 11:12

@Flowerstem Yes I was a bit gutted at 20 weeks when they said I wouldn't need any further scans! I loved seeing her.

Onebabyandamadcat · 30/06/2022 13:38

@LLoubylauralou I'm ok thanks. Had my 8 week scan yesterday. Baby looks good - strong heartbeat and measuring a day or two ahead. I thought I'd feel calmer now but I don't, I'm still second guessing everything. Felt less queasy this morning and really panicked but the queasiness is back again. Hopefully I'll be more settled after the 12 week scan. Good luck today!

Loubylauralou · 30/06/2022 14:09

@Onebabyandamadcat ahh that's great news! So please for you 😊

susiebluebell · 30/06/2022 17:47

@Onebabyandamadcat that's wonderful. So weird to want the queasiness to stay, isn't it 😛

Loubylauralou · 30/06/2022 19:30

We saw a little heartbeat! 😊Dates exactly as I thought all looking OK, they will scan me again in 3 weeks.

Flowerstem · 30/06/2022 22:25

@Loubylauralou Aw that's absolutely amazing, congratulations. I'm over the moon for you and I'm glad it was good news.

Keep counting down the days until you see them again!

Loubylauralou · 05/07/2022 06:34

@Flowerstem thank you, I was absolutely convinced it was bad news so very happy. Definitely counting the days til the next scan again though, the reassurance doesn't last long!

Flowerstem · 05/07/2022 08:29

@Loubylauralou It definitely doesn't last long, the only reassurance I have now even at 15 weeks is that I can feel movement here and there and I brought myself a heart doppler to use once a week and its relaxed me a little to where I'm enjoying the pregnancy now.

Keep counting down the days and I'm so happy for you!

Loubylauralou · 07/07/2022 06:46

@Flowerstem ahh lovely I can't wait to feel movement! I didn't feel my daughter move until about 21 weeks but I know you tend to feel them earlier for subsequent pregnancies. Glad it's helping you to relax a bit.

Louharding · 12/07/2022 13:21

@susiebluebell @OnceUponAThread how are you getting on in this heat? Must be due around now? Let us know how it goes! Xx

OnceUponAThread · 12/07/2022 14:51

@Louharding came yesterday! All fingers and toes present and correct. Now just trying to find my feet.

Loubylauralou · 12/07/2022 16:12

@OnceUponAThread huge congratulations on your new arrival 😍

brogan12 · 12/07/2022 16:18

Hi! I'd like to introduce myself. I've been a quiet watcher since the beginning of March as I didn't want to jinx anything. But last week I had my 12 week scan so think it might be safe to join!

Little background, I had a miscarriage on the 6th April and didn't have a period after so conceived straight away! I was put back a week at my scan which I expected as I was using ovulation sticks so sort of had an idea when I ovulated!

But anyways little bean is perfect! I'm due the 18th January so I'm 12+6 now! I have booked another private scan for 16 weeks as I am so nervous to wait for the 20 week scan. Was anyone else nervous for a scan at 16 weeks? I have no reason to be really but still nervous for some reason!

Attaching my scan pic because I couldn't get over their little leg sticking in the air❤️
