Hi! Thought I'd start a new thread as we filled up the previous one. Going to try and tag everyone who's been active recently - apologies if I miss anyone out! Feel free to join in.

I'm expecting my firstborn, having had 2 miscarriages. Currently 17 weeks and 2 days!

@Louharding I've just had a really good look at her page and wow, very inspiring! I've come away feeling like yeah, of course I can do this. Intrigued by the 'breathe the baby out' stuff. Great tip, thank you!

@susiebluebell I always thought hypnobirthing was a bit wishy washy for me but having given birth it’s crazy how much of it is instinctive even if you’ve never done it before. It’s like your body can do it without your help?! I like the sound of floppy face floppy fanny too HA xxx

susiebluebell · 17/05/2022 12:12

@Louharding and all the ladies in the comments saying they practise when they're having a poo! 😂

@susiebluebell 😂😂😂

Louharding · 24/05/2022 09:18

Hi ladies how is everyone doing? First week of maternity leave and I keep going between rushing round to clean everything and being absolutely knackered 😂😂😂

susiebluebell · 24/05/2022 09:59

Morning! I was just thinking about posting about maternity leave actually, I stopped work a few weeks ago but was still studying, and now studies are done so I'm fully 'off'. And I'm not really enjoying it yet, feeling a bit lost! I'm 32 weeks so getting close, but potentially still 2 months plus!

Any tips on what to do? Most people I know are occupied during the day!

Hi @susiebluebell yeah it’s pretty boring isn’t it! Rest as much as possible and read or watch box sets if that’s your thing, when I was off before my daughter was born I rewatched the whole of ER 😂 it’s crazy isn’t it as people are so jealous of us being off work but I end up so bored. Some baby groups welcome people with bumps too so that might be nice to be included in. I love a baby group everyone just chats and eats cake. Sorry I don’t have any help really! Good luck with it xx

susiebluebell · 24/05/2022 10:38

@Louharding I've been looking at a local group that is for new mums and babies. It's sort of activity-based though so joining in as just me might be odd! I think the next batch starts in August though, so just after baby arrives, which will be good.

Think I'm going to crack on with housework this morning. Not fun but at least it'll keep me busy! I'm sure I'll get used to this 😁

Louharding · 24/05/2022 11:09

@susiebluebell ah bless you, yeah housework always passes the time 😂

GinnyBee · 24/05/2022 12:04

Do things! Even just going for walks, go to the shops, weed the garden, wash the car… time will come when you can barely leave the sofa, much less leave the house!

Flowerstem · 26/05/2022 14:21

Look forward to that time even though it would be boring lol

I've had another early scan just to settle my mind a little more but I also have the NHS scan 2 weeks saturday for the 12 week one.

Today's scan showed our little bean measuring at 9 + 1 day all wiggling about with a strong heartbeat, I cant wait to get past a few more weeks to start enjoying a little more and to start to get excited!

TwoBulletsFiveZombies · 26/05/2022 18:08

I'm 9 weeks today and got my 12 week scan appointment through the post, 3 weeks today.

However I have a big bump already, I honestly look about 6 months gone and it's getting very very difficult to hide. I only fit in mat jeans and very stretchy leggings. Was anyone the same? @Flowerstem how's yours? I'm genuinely starting to think there's more than one in there!

susiebluebell · 26/05/2022 19:23

Ah don't say that @GinnyBee I'm already struggling with not being independent and having to slow down! I hadn't realised how attached I was to being physically able etc.

@Flowerstem and @TwoBulletsFiveZombies you're both 9 weeks already, amazing! I think a lot of women have terrible bloating in the first trimester and that's why they can look bigger than they'd expect.

Got to look forward to your 12wk scans now, we'll be requesting scan pics if you're up for sharing!

@susiebluebell i think at the end it’s natural to not be able to move at all, you will just have to embrace it I guess and remember it’s not forever xxx

Flowerstem · 27/05/2022 07:01

@TwoBulletsFiveZombies I'm honestly finding it hard to hide too lol I thought it was just me! I'm always rocking the leggings or maximus dresses and sandals as my feet keep swelling whenever it's hot.

One or two babies I hope everything goes ok with your scan in 3 weeks, how are you feeling about it?

@susiebluebell I will share my 12 week scan when I've had it done... I'm praying bean keeps having growth spurts like they have been doing.

I hope everything's going well with everyone!

susiebluebell · 28/05/2022 09:53

So excited for you @Flowerstem I was crapping myself before the 12wk scan, but the feeling of euphoria afterwards was unbeatable.

How's everyone doing?

I'm both terribly fed up and not sure how I'll get through the next month and a half. Wish baby could come TOMORROW.

But also absolutely terrified about getting her out. And getting more and more scared with every passing week. Not to mention faint horror that they'll let me out with a child without some sort of formal training. 😩

Louharding · 28/05/2022 18:04

Ah bless you @OnceUponAThread i remember that terrified feeling with my first! You’ll be surprised how naturally it all comes to you and you’ll do great I promise.

im feeling the same so impatient and everything aches and I can barely walk. Also two people I know that were pregnant have announced their babies’ arrivals today! Well jel!

Am I right in thinking you’re having an elective section? Do you have a date for it yet? Xx

susiebluebell · 29/05/2022 08:51

@OnceUponAThread I'm not feeling terrified (yet) but I've got a mix of being fed up and also not wanting it to end! I know I'm going to miss being pregnant, despite the discomfort etc.

Not long now for either of us!

OP posts:
OnceUponAThread · 29/05/2022 14:39

@susiebluebell ah that's so lovely. I don't think I'll miss being pregnant at all - I'm just so grumpy and anxious and uncomfortable.

But not looking forward to my c-section much either.

Basically can I fast-forward to when she's here please? That bit I am very much looking forward to!

OnceUponAThread · 29/05/2022 14:40

@Louharding no day yet, but I think I am finding out next week. Will be nice to have a concrete date planned in I think.

susiebluebell · 29/05/2022 19:03

@OnceUponAThread Sorry to read you're not enjoying it that much. Really not long now! I know I keep saying it. You're lucky in a way that you'll have a certain date to work towards!

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining. I was on the old version of this thread a while back but came off after my last mmc. I've since had another (natural) miscarriage and am now pregnant again (5weeks) I'm under the Tommy's clinic at Coventry, all my bloods were normal, there is no reason to suggest why i'm having miscarriages ( I'm blessed with a healthy 4yo and had no issues with that pregnancy) I'm on twice daily progesterone pessaries now. They are going to scan me at the end if this month. I just find this waiting period so stressful 😫 i found the ladies on here a great support last time, and I can see some of you are still on here. I hope you are doing ok. I'm feeling very emotional, worrying about having another miscarriage. Any success stories would be lovely to read about as i'm struggling to stay positive. x

susiebluebell · 10/06/2022 21:05

Ah welcome back @Loubylauralou I can't reply properly right now but congratulations on your new pregnancy! You're very welcome to vent and get support here ☺️ xx
