@Dyra she clearly is. I've learned my lesson, she loves sugar 😅

I do get up about 3 times in the night to pee but I fall asleep again pretty quickly my problem is similar to @easybreezy586 I am tired lie down all comfy and my brains just like nope!

Welcome @BostonFern sounds like you've had a rough time of it. Not long to go now and you'll have your little girl! Is your son excited to meet his little sister?

Scoaf · 28/01/2022 17:55

Hi Ladies.
I know a few of you have had Covid recently so just after some advice.
Just had a positive Latereal flow so got a PCR booked for tomorrow.
Feeling rotten. Tried my midwife but she finishes at 5pm.
Do i need to do anything? X

Dyra · 28/01/2022 20:34

Oh no @Scoaf! How utterly rubbish. I would contact your MAU since you couldn't contact your midwife. They might want to pre-emptively get you on blood thinners. At least they'll be able to advise you on what to do if your PCR comes back positive.

Welcome @BostonFern! Definitely sounds like you've had a rough ride of it this pregnancy. Not too long left to go at least.

Hello ladies,
It’s my first pregnancy so I don’t know what is and isn’t normal. I’m 30 weeks pregnant but my baby kicks on average 20 times a minute. I only get a break for 2 hours between 11-13? I can’t sleep on my sides because the baby kicks so much so I end up sleeping on my back. I don’t think this baby ever sleeps. I’m really struggling mentally as everyone is telling me this is a healthy baby but the kicks are just getting stronger and stronger. I don’t mind the pain but this weird feeling makes me feel very sick and I can’t focus or concentrate as the movements happen all the time. Is this normal?

Epli · 28/01/2022 23:13

Has there been a recent significant change in kicks intensity? If yes do get it checked ASAP.

MiracleBaby2022 · 29/01/2022 02:45

@Kat2022 mine is the same. Strangely she's also quiet around 11-13:00ish, but the rest of the time she's a complete nutcase 😆

BostonFern · 29/01/2022 10:05

Thanks @Caass45 and @Dyra

@Caass45 My son seems to enjoy talking to ‘baby sister’ (the bump) and ‘showing’ her his toys, we got the Moses basket out last week and without prompting he said it was for baby sister, so we think he has an idea of what’s coming. What will happen when she arrives though, who knows!

Scoaf · 29/01/2022 11:36

@Dyra
Thanks for your advice.
I spoke to the MAU and theyve taken my details and a community midwife will phone me to check on me which is reassuring. Told me not to worry and contact them if i have any concerns at all.
We also have a friend who is a senior paramedic who is dropping me round a pulse oximeter and registering me for a virtual ward which is also reassuring. X

FrenchFairy85 · 30/01/2022 20:09

Hello!

I have just found this thread and would love to join. I’m due on 02/04/22 and expecting a little boy. It’s our first and boy have I found this pregnancy difficult. I had HG for the first 4 months and am now absolutely exhausted at 31 weeks! I too am concerned about the Covid situation. I am still working full time at an inner city London school but finishing at half term as just don’t want to catch it a few weeks before EDD!

Dyra · 30/01/2022 22:10

@BostonFern Awww. That's very sweet of your son. Much more of a clue than my DD has about it all.

@Scoaf How're you doing? Has your PCR come back yet? Good call on your friend getting you the pulse oximeter. Never heard of a virtual ward, but that sounds very handy too.

Welcome @FrenchFairy85! That sounds like it's been an incredibly hard pregnancy. These March/April babies sure are testing us! Not long left until half term at least. Everything crossed you avoid Covid until (and after!) you finish.

Has anyone got any days around their due date they want to avoid? I've got to thinking recently just how many other birthdays and important dates there are around March and April. My DD shares a birthday with her uncle, and my due date this time just so happens to be a day before another uncle's birthday.... 🤦🏻‍♀️ There's also a great grandmother's, great aunt's and aunt's birthdays around then too. Never mind Mother's day and April Fools day. At least Easter is late this year, but I imagine at some point it'll fall around our little ones' birthdays. Then again, guaranteed school holidays (or not long before/after) every year. Lucky babies.

Hi to the new ladies!

@BostonFern glad he seems to understand and seems excited.

@Dyra yes! I was talking to my mum about this. I obvs would love to avoid April fools day! My little one is due on my birthday so I'm sure for her sake she would prefer to have a separate birthday but I wouldn't mind if we shared a birthday. I'd love her to come on mother's day. My brothers birthday is April 8th so hoping to avoid that too 🤞 my grans was March 30th so that would be fine.

Scoaf · 30/01/2022 22:35

@Dyra yes it came back positive as i suspected.
Feeling like i have flu and just exhausted.
Yes i hadn't heard of the virtual ward but you text them with the results from your oximeter daily and they monitor you.
I am actually hoping to avoid my due date as its my sister in Laws birthday and shes already taking great pleasure in telling everyone that the baby is due on her birthday 🙈
Apart from that just April Fools day which was my original due date.

Welcome to all the new ladies 🤗

Moonandstars2118 · 30/01/2022 22:46

Hi all!

Please can I join? I’m due my 1st on 10th March, having a boy!
Feeling very ready to meet him but worrying a bit that I’m not getting enough midwife care. I had an appt at 32 weeks and don’t have anything else until 36 and then last one at 39. Apparently that’s the policy around here Confused anyone else getting left to it??

Dyra · 30/01/2022 23:07

Just looked at my schedule @Moonandstars2118 (welcome btw!), and that almost ties in with what I'm expecting. 34, 36, 38. Seems odd you don't have a 40 or a 41 week appointment though. Maybe they just play it by ear and only tell you about them/give you one, if you get that far?

Forgot to ask if there are any dates you do want baby to be born on as well as don't! If it didn't mean baby was premature, I would have loved 22/02/2022. It's palindromic, and I love it. It also so happens to be a Tuesday.

Moonandstars2118 · 30/01/2022 23:11

@Dyra ahh okay that makes me feel better thank you!

I’d love 20th March so it’s spring equinox 🌸

Dyra · 30/01/2022 23:20

I just realised I misread your post. I thought you'd said you had a 34 week, when it said 32. Very sorry. That doesn't seem right at all. Are they just assuming all FTMs will be able to pick up signs of problems developing in the large gaps between appointments? Has your trust skimped on any of the earlier appointments as well?

OP posts:
Countingchicks · 31/01/2022 05:19

@Scoaf I was referred to the covid at home service too, they're really nice and call you to see how you're doing. I ended up at a&e in the early hours a fortnight ago coughing up some blood so had a bit more hospital involvement but it was nice to know the covid at home service were also keeping a close eye on my stats.

Moonandstars2118 · 31/01/2022 10:07

@Dyra I’ve had all the other appointments, it just seems to be be now that we’re getting to the end they’ve decided I’m low risk but a lot can change in a few weeks!

Nats7504 · 31/01/2022 10:28

@Moonandstars2118 Welcome lovely! Sorry to hear your not having the best time with your care. I’m also one that’s been left to it. Do you live in the Cheshire by any chance?! 🙈

Dyra · 31/01/2022 10:29

But it shouldn't matter if you're low risk though. This is what the NHS considers baseline antenatal care. So why has your trust deviated from that?

And you're right. A spring equinox birthday would be lovely. My DD was due just after the autumnal equinox as well.

OP posts:
Nats7504 · 31/01/2022 10:50

Regarding dates. I’m due the 21st March and my DP birthday is the 24th so he’s hoping i have him then! The only date I would want to avoid is April fools and the 4th April (so 2 weeks late) as that was my Mums birthday who has sadly passed away. Apart from that he can come whenever! 😂

BostonFern · 31/01/2022 11:34

I don’t think I have any preferred dates, but I suspect she’s going to be a February baby rather than March! I started to lose some of my mucus plug this weekend, which didn’t happen until much later when I was expecting my son. I spoke to the maternity assessment unit and they’ve said it can happen earlier when it’s not your first. Really need to slow down more (if that’s possible, I already feel like I’m going through the days at a snails pace) as BH contractions are becoming more frequent too.
@Scoaf I’ve been under the covid maternity team and they were lovely, I had to monitor my oxygen levels throughout the day and the team would check in on me each day too. Don’t be afraid to go in to hospital if you’re worried about anything, they’re happy to see you still and have protocols for covid positive patients.

FrenchFairy85 · 31/01/2022 20:32

Thanks for accepting me! @Dyra The first trimester was really challenging. Lots of retching and being sick in parks when I tried to go for walks and the worst sleep ever- it was relentless and I couldn’t even make it into work. Second trimester was much better and this one is still better than first, even though I feel physically very tired! 9 more working days until maternity leave! Has everyone decided on names??

Pac35 · 05/02/2022 21:13

How is everyone getting on? I'm 34 weeks today and the baby has been breech since my anomaly scan. It seems very comfortable!
My appetite is huge now too! Anyone else the same?

Caass45 · 05/02/2022 21:25

@Pac35 fingers crossed baby decides to turn soon. Still plenty time. My wee one seems to have been head down since start of December. That was very painful with her wee feet right in my ribs 🙄😂

All good here midwife on Monday for 32 week appointment although I'll be 32+6 then. Husband and I ended up getting pcr tests yesterday as he was fluey. Thankfully both negative but he's quite poorly still but I feel fine. Maybe thanks to my flu jag. Just means I've had to look after him and the house and go to work 😅
