In fairness, that was in 3 separate walks. 1 mile to nursery + home again. Few hours rest. Then half mile to doctors (little bit of a rest) + bit further into town to pick up some essentials. Then back home (quick pit stop to pick up pushchair), then on to nursery again, then home. NGL, I was in agony. Lesson learned. Don't schedule appointments on nursery days.

Oh wow. I thought 4lb 5 was a bit bigger than average. Seems incredible that's average at 32 weeks. And they only get bigger....

@Nats7504 my older one wasn't impressed at first but is now exited for another little brother, younger one doesn't fully understand yet I think, I keep telling him there is a baby in my tummy but most of the times he doesn't seem to care 😀 names are real struggle now third time around honestly I have no idea what we will call him..
I'm going though all baby stuff I have this week but I got rid of lots after my second boy as lots of it was already quite worn out after two. I bought some stuff plus I am a sewer so slowly sewing some babygrows and will do some pants too at some point..

My midwife measured my tummy at 28w and it's in the chart at 90th centile I'm not sure how accurate that is at this stage, my first boy was 9'10' (2 weeks overdue) my second was 7'3' born at 39 weeks.

Scoaf · 25/01/2022 18:54

Im sorry to hear everyone is feeling uncomfortable. I too dont sleep and am feeling like i am ready to pop and still 9 weeks to go. 🙈
Yesterday and today i have had a pain abou 3 inches above my tummy button, its worse when im stood up or bent over, feels a bit like a foot trying to pop out but never seems to move or go away. Anybody else had anything similar? X

Caass45 · 25/01/2022 19:31

@Scoaf I've had pains under my ribs on my right side and on the side of my ribs there too but pretty sure that is her feet as at my last appointment mw told me her wee feet were up there. Is it right in the middle? If so might be worth giving mw a call for a check over to check it is just little feet

Nats7504 · 25/01/2022 19:46

@Dyra Still 5 miles. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m so lazy and apart from a dog walk I’m pretty stationary 🤣 I know, it was on my personal chart so god knows what they see as me having a larger baby! 🙈 Starting to shit myself now. How did your appointment go yesterday?

@onedream My younger one is pretty impatient so think he’s got bored of waiting I think! I’ve had to buy everything again but I’m definitely buying it as a 3rd time mum (this is my OH first baby) and not going overboard. OH wants to go crazy with stuff so it’s hard to keep the excitement he has without dampening it when I tell him it’s a waste of money! You’ve got a few weeks to go to find a name. We looked on loads of different websites. We’ve got one and hoping to god no one steals it as I’m not changing it! That’s quite a difference in weights 🙈 I haven’t been measured as I’ve been having scans but I have no idea how they work it out.

@Scoaf I have the same kind of pain and it’s his knees I think, I can grab limbs now and have to push them back in cause it bloody hurts!

Scoaf · 25/01/2022 19:47

@Caass45

Its on the right side between my ribs and sternum. When i stand up it feels like whatever it is might pop through my skin.... sorry i know that sounds so dramatic 🤣
I have a midwife appt tomorrow so i will ask her. X

Caass45 · 25/01/2022 19:51

@Scoaf not dramatic at all I sometimes think this little one is trying to punch her way out of me 🤣 sounds like its most likely a little foot but yeah check with midwife tomorrow she will be able to tell you for sure.

Dyra · 25/01/2022 20:50

It went ok ty. Trace protein, but BP was beautifully normal, so GP wasn't worried. My bump has somehow grown 4cm in 11 days apparently 🤨. I'm putting that one down to 1) it being measured by 2 different people and 2) it's not very accurate anyway. I did ask about the Doppler, but as expected she didn't really know other than it was something expected of them. I'll try again at the midwife in 3 weeks.

All my rib pain is left sided. And 100% related to when I've eaten too much and there being a little butt pushing it all up.

OP posts:
Caass45 · 25/01/2022 21:04

@Dyra glad things went well today. I some days feel like my bump grows about 4cm in a day 😅😅 it could be both of those reasons so easy to measure a little different than the person before.

Ah yes the eating too much makes mine sore too 🙈 isn't pregnancy a joy 😅

Nats7504 · 25/01/2022 21:17

@Dyra Glad it went ok and your BP was low. Will they keep an eye on the protein? I’ve not had my bump measured and going by what she said I don’t think I will. My consultant booked me in for my final scan at 35 weeks and if that all goes well then I’m left to the midwifes 😫

You don’t need to ask them on my behalf lovely. Are you having growth scans, if so when is your next one?

Cosyclothes · 25/01/2022 21:49

Hi everyone, is it ok if I join? Due 26th March with my 1st baby, a little girl!
@Caass45 I am so glad you mentioned rib pain because I am being crucified by it at the moment. It is so so bad, bad if I’m standing, sitting, moving, it doesn’t matter what I do it’s awful. The only thing that gives me relief is lying on top of a pregnancy pillow at night!! I am beginning to wonder if it’s normal? 2 separate doctors and the midwife have all said it’s the position that baby is in and maybe has to do with the fact I am quite short and there isn’t much room in there! I’m like, do I really have to have 9 more weeks of this??

Caass45 · 25/01/2022 21:55

@Cosyclothes congrats and welcome!

It can be so.painful can't it? I've had it for about 2 months now but it is improving. I did get cocodamol prescribed by the doctor for the pain which I just take if it gets really bad and I self referred to physio and they sent me a tubigrip band to wear at work which really seems to be helping by just giving me some extra support. I think for me it was a mix of her feet being up in my ribs and stretching muscles.

The pain can really set you on a downer though. Maybe you could ask about physio and let gp know if paracetamol isn't helping at all.

Welcome @Cosyclothes! Wish I knew why I was getting rib pain this time around, but not first time. I don't think I've shrunk since then. My DH would have mocked me for it I'm sure. I'm also finding anything tight in that area can also trigger it, so I've given up wearing bras. Thank goodness it's winter so I'm all layered up outside the house. Hope yours goes away quickly.

No growth scans this time around @Nats7504. Sad Wish I did. I loved seeing DD every month. At least there's only 5 weeks until the 36 week one. Regarding the protein, GP mentioned it was quite normal for an afternoon appointment, so wasn't worried. I also think there could have been contamination.

OP posts:
Nats7504 · 25/01/2022 23:19

@Dyra Ahh, I thought you did. Sorry. I’ve never had them before so this is a first. Ahh, Hopefully it was just contamination then 😊

PigeonPigPie · 26/01/2022 07:29

Hi all!! I was on the Feb/March thread but am actually due 27th March so way behind all the other ladies over there. 32 week appointment this week and only 4 weeks left at work after this one Shock Hypremesis weeks 6-24 and lovely PGP weeks 16-now so it has been a bit of a slog but I wake up every day with a new appreciation to not be throwing up!!
FTM planning for a home birth so all my antenatal appointments are at home too. Booked the pool but need to buy a few other bits and got the hospital bag packed in case I change my mind on the day or need to go in for any reason. Getting real now Grin

Dyra · 26/01/2022 08:14

Due date twin! ☺️ Welcome @PigeonPigPie. Do you know what you're having? Sounds like you've had quite the pregnancy. You must be counting down the hours until maternity leave now. It's getting far too real indeed!

PigeonPigPie · 26/01/2022 08:18

@Dyra Oh yay! Yes, a little boy! We had actually finally decided on a girl's name the night before the scan... luckily we had a boy's name from day dot but I was a bit deflated not to get to use my amazing girl's name Grin Halo

@Dyra yes I forgot about the bra situation! I've been wearing a sports bra for a bit now so it's a bit comfier and no underwires. It's great.

@PigeonPigPie welcome! How exciting a little boy 🥰 it's a shame you've had such a rough time but glad your focusing on the positives. I always said I'd love a wee girl then when we got pregnant I convinced myself it was a boy and focused on picking a boys name thinking a girls name would be easy now were having a girl we just cannot decide on a name 😅 never thought I'd be sitting with a full boys name i loved but no girls names.

Countingchicks · 26/01/2022 12:33

@PigeonPigPie ooh I'm planning on homebirth too! There's a few of us so there's a Facebook group "MN22 hopeful homebirthers" if you'd like to join us on there too

Scoaf · 26/01/2022 17:00

Ah welcome to all the new ladies.
Been to see my midwife today... which wasn't my usual midwife as she has covid.
All ok. Baby is still head down and she thinks the pain is some sort of limb trying to escape 🙈 only thing that seems to help is lying on my side. Which isnt really pratical in the office 🤣
No bump measurements, but got to hear the heart beat again which was 145bpm so midwife said a happy little bubba 🤗
Hope everyone is doing ok today.

Caass45 · 27/01/2022 23:15

@Scoaf glad the pain was just a little limb. Hope baby repositions said limb soon!

My next appointment isn't until the 7th seems ages away yet. Baby was giving me some anxiety tonight by not moving much. Triage suggested a sugary snack. Turns out she clearly likes sugary snacks and she must have been protesting the lack of them as now she won't stop moving 😅

Pregnancy insomnia has also hit me hard this week as well as waking ip with hip pain in the night.

Dyra · 28/01/2022 10:48

She's prepping you for the toddler years @Caass45! Glad you and she are doing ok now.

Pregnancy insomnia can sod off. It's bad enough I have to wake up in the night to pee, but then I have to lie awake for an hour afterwards too? Urgh.

Hi, is it OK for me to join?
I’m due baby number 2, a girl, on 7th March. I already have a son, he turned 2 years old in November.
This pregnancy has definitely been harder than my first, hyperemesis, lot of viral infections and I’m just getting over Covid. I’m really looking forward to meeting baby now!

easybreezy586 · 28/01/2022 13:40

I've been getting terrible insomnia this week too @caass45. It's so frustrating, I'm comfy enough (thanks to my huge pregnancy pillow Grin), just can't seem to get my brain to switch off.
