Hi all I hope I've done this right.

@fejkalove just catching up I haven't noticed anything on my notes although my BMI is in over weight category too which was brought up by the midwife but they haven't seemed too concerned at scans. Let us know how you get on! I've got a growth scan on Monday as seeing a consultant so maybe they'll mention it to me then as well.

@luckygreenduck I've had morning sickness again too, when I first got covid last week my taste and smell went and the sickness seemed to go too but it's back with a vengeance the last couple of days!
Also been incredibly tired which I put down to covid but I think is just pregnancy!

@Jowd92 How many weeks are you? Have they started talking about an early delivery? Let us know how it goes and I'm thinking of you Thanks

GinnyBee · 08/03/2022 11:49

As if being 30 weeks pregnant wasn't exhausting enough, we now have a girl dog somewhere nearby come into season and my lad has completely lost his marbles! He whinges almost non-stop through the day, wandering around the house restlessly, won't eat, woke me up three times last night barking at some noise from outside and then kept whinging from 3am until about 5am without pause, then started again at 7am 😭

And I'm now realising I'm definitely not ready for a baby!

Jowd92 · 08/03/2022 12:15

I’m only 29 weeks classed as high risk and have a few more scans and dopplers booked and consultant will make a decision i always end up with inducement either 1 week or 2 weeks before due date anyway so will see I’m just very stressed as to why she is measuring so small and keep going to the back and then I can’t feel movement they said I will be a regular in for monitoring if I continue to keep not feeling movement

fejkalove · 08/03/2022 12:18

Sorry I've been so quiet ladies, have been trying to get my head round the GD diagnosis...it really hit me hard. I'm sticking to the diet well, although it's pretty miserable. My fasting levels are unmanageable so I'm starting metformin AND insulin tomorrow, which I'm okay with (as long as it helps!) just feel a bit like my body isn't good enough to be going straight on to both which worries me. Sad

How are you all doing? Hope everyone is well. X

autumn321 · 08/03/2022 13:30

Hi everyone sorry I haven't posted on here in ages! Had quite a lot going on. I do check in to see how you're all doing, can't believe how quickly the time is going!

I've struggled the last few weeks. Been into hospital a few times for reduced movements, a couple of times got checked because they thought I had pre-eclampsia, and yesterday I was diagnosed with GD!! Got an appointment with the diabetes team this week, it really hit me harder than I thought but I'm trying to stay positive and focus on the fact that at least we know and can do our best to monitor it and keep baby well.
Baby girl is currently measuring off the scale big! I assume I'll have growth scans now anyway because of the GD?

Anyway hope you're all okay and looking after yourselves xx

Kittycaz · 08/03/2022 15:17

Just been to my 31 wk apt everything seems OK my LO hated the doppler as usual and ran away from it kicking it. My MW pushed down really hard on my public bone to find it made my eyes water. And they think I got a UTI as I had ++ Luekocytes so waiting to hear back from that. Plus midwife said cotton wool for first 2 weeks then water wipes is what she suggests x

Hyggeandhugs · 08/03/2022 15:49

So from 10th percentile in yesterday's NHS growth scan by a trainee sonographer (albeit one supervised from across the room), to 36th percentile in a private scan today... I mean I drank a glass of milk yesterday, but doubt she's grown that much Confused You shouldn't really have to question who to trust should you...

Hope everyone else is getting on okay Thanks

Luckygreenduck · 08/03/2022 15:54

I am getting pain in my stomach, has anyone had something similar? It feels like period pains but no bleeding and baby is still moving. He is actually moving way more than usual.

Sorry to hear you've been struggling too. You should have growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks now you have been diagnosed with GD. That's what is happening in my trust.
YfenniChristie · 08/03/2022 17:26

Hey everyone, I wondered if I can pick your brains about something daft. I've had an update meeting my line manager today and it's becoming blindingly obvious that they are no closer to figuring out what they're going to do while I'm on mat leave.

I'm (more than a) little annoyed as I had a meeting with both them and my boss about what my job role involves back in January and was politely told that it's not my job to sort cover, and that they'll do it. So I've cracked on and left them to it.

Except...they don't seem to have decided anything and I'm off in 6-8 weeks? My role is a lot (think social media, income generation so organising events, supervising volunteers and working with project partners) and it's not (imo) something that can just be dropped for nine months.

Is this normal? I'm a first time Mam (as well as being my work place's first mat leave in decades) so I have no idea if this is work being chaotic or normal.

Hyggeandhugs · 08/03/2022 18:56

@Luckygreenduck I had this, but am pretty sure it was either bowel related or maybe braxton hicks?

Luckygreenduck · 08/03/2022 19:07

@Hyggeandhugs that's what I thought. It passed and I am going to ask at midwife appointment tomorrow.
@YfenniChristie I know it's hard but I would think you won't be there to deal with it. My work still hasn't sorted cover and I just keep reminding people I won't be here. The only thing you can do is get a good written handover ready incase you go off before they sort cover arrangements.

fejkalove · 08/03/2022 20:37

So I was already struggling mentally with the GD diagnosis....I've just tested positive for covid...I'm not sure how much I can take Sad I have to call the midwife in the morning for a risk assessment for fragmin injections...I was due to meet the diabetic specialist nurse tomorrow to be shown how to administer insulin injections too. I'm so fed up, I can't stop crying.

Kittycaz · 09/03/2022 07:33

@fejkalove I'm so sorry to hear this. Have you got someone who can give you emotional support with you. Covid is horrible when your pregnant less the symptoms more the anxiety it causes. I hope the nurses will help you and my thoughts are with you Flowers

@Luckygreenduck it may be braxton hicks I've been getting them recently its very strange, is your bump going hard? And u feel it tightening and does pain go away when u change position. I get pain under my belly button but think that's where my LO likes to beat me up the most. But recently getting pelvis pain when I walk and a stabbing feeling down there so think he's on a nerve or something to x

GinnyBee · 09/03/2022 09:31

@YfenniChristie That sounds pretty disorganised of them, but remind yourself that it's not your problem to solve! It's their responsibility an they will soon find out when you leave whether they've understood what they're supposed to do. Try not to stress about it, not your problem!

Why is March such a long month! Somehow it's almost mid-month now and I still have 3 weeks left at work, not two like I keep thinking! At least we're going away this weekend for a little break in the Peak District.

YummyMummyXoX · 09/03/2022 12:12

So I've had bleeding at 4.30am it was a very noticeable amount (sorry for tmi) from my bum and reduced movements, but babies fine been on the monitor. Blessings due to my bloods dropping right down again so my steroids need increasing and im having another infusion in hospital today. God it's been a busy morning! I don't what the exact plan is yet or when they are going to stabilise my bloods safe enough for delivery. I've got 2 see 2 more consultants and have another 2 scans yet x

YummyMummyXoX · 09/03/2022 12:13

I've had a glimpse through and thinking of everyone and hoping you are all doing ok with your bumps ❤️

YfenniChristie · 09/03/2022 13:50

@Luckygreenduck @GinnyBee Thanks both. I'll admit I'm a bit precious about my job role as I built it from the ground up, and I don't know if I'll have the energy to do it all over again if it's just left to mothball while I'm away. I'm wrapping up as many loose ends as possible so I can just hand over my notes in April and wash my hands of it.

Hey @fejkalove I'm so sorry to hear you're struggling. How are you feeling today? Have you been able to speak to the midwife/nurse today? I had Covid (mildly) earlier in the year, the main guidance I was given was to keep hydrated and stay well rested.

@YummyMummyXoX That sound stressful and scary! Hope you're doing ok.

MrsMay19 · 09/03/2022 14:23

Is anyone else front line NHS? I’ve been told the whole time I had to get to 28 weeks and I could work from home. I started last Friday and they have now changed to policy which basically says because I’m vaccinated and don’t have underlying health conditions it’s ok for me to be around covid positive patients. Just wondering what anyone else’s trusts have said about it?

YummyMummyXoX · 09/03/2022 15:49

@MrsMay19
Our trust policy was to be none clinical from 26 weeks but because I've been in and out of hospital and now at hospital at least once weekly they've told me to stay off until my Mat leave starts on my due date.
That was back in February though and I'm not sure what their policy is right now for those turning 26 weeks. Apparently every trust doing things differently which is a little strange but hey x

Yellowbelly12 · 09/03/2022 18:19

@MrsMay19 I’m not frontline but am NHS. We also had the 28 week policy and it has been removed. I am lucky though and most of the time am at home anyway. A friend who is also expecting in May is frontline NHS and has to go to work now too.

SouthwestSis · 09/03/2022 21:13

Regardless of a policy you are still entitled to an individual workplace pregnancy related risk assessment which should consider workplace hazards including covid. Speak to your trade union to get individual advice if your trust are trying to get you to work with covid patients in your 3rd trimester!

Luckygreenduck · 09/03/2022 21:49

Sounds like a lot of us are having a tough time at the moment. Hopefully things get better, we are nearly on the last bit so we just need to keep going! Sending everyone strength, keep in mind that soon it will be summer and we will hopefully all have our babies x

YummyMummyXoX · 09/03/2022 22:03

I had my union involved regarding risk assessments and Covid policy had various meetings, didn't really help as they just emphasised PPE, social distancing, vaccinations (wish I'd never been vaccinated cos since then i can't keep out of hospital and I've already had ash's recovered from Covid unvaccinated) and that was back with the new varient being rife us being in restrictions. Now guidance has changed seems like things are much harder for pregnant women x

H0peing · 10/03/2022 00:31

@Jowd92 I'm sorry that you're having such a difficult time. I imagine that she could be very active but that it's harder to feel her movements as she's small. I hope you can get as much support as possible until she's here. When is your next scan?Sending lots of love. Xx
